At start-up or hitting "home" firefox is opening 2 "Firefox start pages" at a time how do I fix this so it only opens 1 at a time?

when Firefox loads it opens 2 home pages. Also if I use the "Home" button it also then opens 2 home pages. What can I do to fix this?

Reset your homepage so there is only one homepage instead of two?

  • Since upgrade to Firefox 29, PDFs print blank pages (Win7Pro/Brother HL5240) - how do I fix this bug?

I think this is the same problem that others have but I have been unable to get a fix to work. Wish I hadn't upgraded from 28.0

hello Road_runner, unfortunately this is currently a bug in the integrated firefox pdf viewer that is investigated by our developers and getting addressed. in the meantime you could use a third-party pdf plugin like from adobe that you can enable in the firefox ''options > applications'' - scroll down and define the default action for the '''portable document format (pdf)'''.

  • When I open firefox it opens in a extremely small size. How do I fix this so it opens in full screen?

Firefox opens in an extremely small size when I open it. I tried to maximize it and restart. Nothing fixes it. How do I fix this problem? It is driving me nuts.

To make it open at a nice size, make sure you have only one Firefox window open, then un-maximize it (which should make it small again), then resize the window '''by dragging the corners''' ('''not''' using the maximize button) to make it whatever size you like. Close the window and it should then start back up at the same large size.
The same trick should work with any Windows program that opens in an annoyingly small window :)

Double click the home button and swipe the mini Pandora up to make sure it's closed. If it still keeps playing randomly delete and reinstall the Pandora app.

I downloaded it, and I've seen what it looks like on other computers, with the reload thing on the right side of search bar, etc. It downloaded correctly, or so I think. How do I fix this?

    Hi Michellem_14,
Have you reset or restarted your iPhone since the update?
Hold down the home button and the power button until you see an Apple logo
Release both buttons and the iPhone will restart.

  • When hitting enter on some web pages(after entering information), the page just reloads. How can I fix this? It worked before, but no longer does.

When I go to certain web sites, and enter in my information(like my Bank website), I hit enter, and the page just reloads.
Or when I finish making a post to my blog, and I hit "Post Entry", the page just reloads.
I did not have this problem until a few days ago. I've been using the same Firefox browser, and have deleted my cookies/history...ect.
    But nothing works.

Hi Turinu, thanks for sharing your issue. I have a very similar issue so I found this via Google.
My computer sometimes crash when clicking the scroll wheel to fire links in separate tab. Screen gets all gray for a small amount of time and then the computer restarts.
The error seems to go all the way down to the kernel (I checked the Event Viewer).
Chrome, Internet Explorer and Safari does not have this problem on my computer.

  • Every time I turn on my computer and open Firefox all my add ons are open in tabs and I have to enable all of them all the time, how can I fix this?

    I'm using Firefox v. 20.0.1 and Windows 7 Home premium 64 bit.

Which security software (firewall, anti-virus) do you have?
It should be necessary to confirm that you want to install third-party extensions.<br />
This usually indicates that other software is messing with files in the profile folder and is corrupting them.<br />
This can either be the extensions.sqlite database file or the prefs.js that stores first run prefs (the first is the most likely cause).
Do you have any cleanup software running on a schedule that may be causing this?
Delete the extensions.* files (e.g. extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.
New files will be created when required.
    See "Corrupt extension files":
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Unable+to+install+add-ons
If you see disabled, not compatible, extensions in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the Tools button at the left end side of the Search Bar ("Find Updates" button in older Firefox versions) to check if there is a compatibility update available.
If this hasn't helped then also try to delete the addons.sqlite file.

  • I still cannot view flash players in firefox after uninstalling and reinstalling firefox and flash multiple times. how do i fix this issue perminantly?

I can go into chrome without any issues and watch any video without any problem. the second i get into firefox nothing works. i have had this issue on and off for years. i really do not see why you cannot fix this if everybody else can. i have uninstalled and reinstalled firefox and flash player multiple times. nothing seems to work. I am truly getting really tired of this same problem year after year, i stay with firefox because you are privacy conscience and are being more so consistently. i do not know what other details to tell you other than this just keeps happening and it is making it very tough to do anything on firefox when i cannot use a simple thing such as flash player. as i said, if the other browsers can fix this i see no reason why firefox cannot year after year. i hope there is a simple fix for this problem because it has basically halted a lot of my work on the net as i will no longer use google or microsoft. thank you

  • Updated Firefox and lost all toolbars, Hotmail, EVERYTHING!! How do I fix this?

Updated Firefox last evening. Got up this morning to a whole new page on the computer. Clicked on Firefox and got a blank page with just a Firefox logo and a Google search line. There are no toolbars for me to use to get to my e mail, pictures or other data.
I clicked on the introductory and info arrows and it keeps telling me to click on the tool bar....there isn't one. How do I get my programs back? Where is my tool bar? I see a lot of other complaints like this, so this problem should have been fixed BEFORE you offered the update.
I want my original opening page and tool bar and my Hotmail back. PLEASE!

Set the pref <b>browser.tabs.insertRelatedAfterCurrent</b> to <i>false</i> on the <b>about:config</b> page.
To open the <i>about:config</i> page, type <b>about:config</b> in the location (address) bar and press the "<i>Enter</i>" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.<br />
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.<br />

  • Only firefox is reporting my SSL certificate as revoked. How can I fix this issue?

I have recently re-keyed and re-installed an SSL certificate on my server (https://beta.alicorsolutions.com:2087) running WHM on linux.
The SSL certificate is passing all the 3rd party SSL tests (https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/analyze.html?d=beta.alicorsolutions.com) and works perfectly fine in Chrome and IE. However, in Firefox I get an error page that says: "Peer's Certificate has been revoked. Error code: sec_error_revoked_certificate".
After doing some searching, I can see that the problem is specific to firefox and the only way everyone else seems to be fixing the problem is by turning off OCSP under Preferences > Advanced > Validation.
This of course is not an acceptable long-term solution. I need to fix this issue as quickly as possible, ay help at all would be appreciated. Please let me know if there's any other information I can provide that would assist you in solving this issue.

hello jcsarda, it's only working in chrome because its security settings are more relaxed per default (when you set chrome to check for certificate revokation in settings > advanced > HTTPS/SSL it shows the same error for me). i don't know about IE...

  • Now that I was sent by Microsoft to your download update site to get the latest version 4.0.1, Firefox crashes (becomes non-responsive) before opening any site page I try. When will you fix this problem?

For two weeks I have tried to use your automatic download of the latest version 4.0.1. It would sit there telling me it is trying to connect to the download computer for hours, several times overnight. Then, it became non-responsive and error messages were sent to Microsoft who directed me to your download site. After downloading your latest version several times, the new page would open. After selecting a bookmarked site, it would open (sometimes only partially) but when I tried to scroll down, it would freeze up and become non-responsive, again prompting error messages to Microsoft. They must be getting a kick out of this. I'm running a Gateway 7200S desktop with Microsoft XP and Intel single range Pentium 4 processor. I have been using your Mozilla Firefox as my default browser for several years with much satisfaction. Unfortunately, whatever upgrades were made have rendered it useless for me.

I have had a similar problem with my system. I just recently (within a week of this post) built a brand new desktop. I installed Windows 7 64-bit Home and had a clean install, no problems. Using IE downloaded an anti-virus program, and then, because it was the latest version, downloaded and installed Firefox 4.0. As I began to search the internet for other programs to install after about maybe 10-15 minutes my computer crashes. Blank screen (yet monitor was still receiving a signal from computer) and completely frozen (couldn't even change the caps and num lock on keyboard). I thought I perhaps forgot to reboot after an update so I did a manual reboot and it started up fine.
When ever I got on the internet (still using firefox) it would crash after anywhere between 5-15 minutes. Since I've had good experience with FF in the past I thought it must be either the drivers or a hardware problem. So in-between crashes I updated all the drivers. Still had the same problem. Took the computer to a friend who knows more about computers than I do, made sure all the drivers were updated, same problem. We thought that it might be a hardware problem (bad video card, chipset, overheating issues, etc.), but after my friend played around with my computer for a day he found that when he didn't start FF at all it worked fine, even after watching a movie, or going through a playlist on Youtube.
At the time of this posting I'm going to try to uninstall FF 4.0 and download and install FF 3.6.16 which is currently on my laptop and works like a dream. Hopefully that will do the trick, because I love using FF and would hate to have to switch to another browser. Hopefully Mozilla will work out the kinks with FF 4 so I can continue to use it.
I apologize for the lengthy post. Any feedback would be appreciated, but is not necessary. I will try and post back after I try FF 3.16.6.

  • I set my homepage but when I reopen Firefox, it is back to what it was. How do I fix this?

I just upgraded Firefox and tried to change my homepage. I went to the page, clicked on tools, options, and make current page my homepage. It made the changes but as soon as I close Firefox and reopen it, the old homepage is back. If I click on tools, options, etc. it shows the old homepage. How can I change my homepage?

    Please do the following:<br><br>
    * In the location bar, type '''about:config''' and hit Enter.<br><br>
    * In the filter at the top, type: '''keyword.URL'''<br><br>
    * Double click it and remove whatever's in there and replace it with http://www.bing.com/search?q=<br>
The URL to add in "keyword.URL" becomes a link in this post, so right click it and choose "Copy Link Location" to copy it to the Windows clipboard. Then hit CTRL+V to paste it. Saves you having to type the whole thing.
'''To reset your home page, do the following'''.<br><br>
    * Go to the site you want to set as your homepage.<br><br>
    * Click the orange Firefox button and go to '''Options '''| '''Options '''| '''General'''.<br><br>
    * Make sure it says "''Show My Homepage''" in the first dropdown menu.<br><br>
    * Click the button called "'''Use Current Pages'''" to set the homepage to the one you have on the screen.

I have done this several times with Firefox 7.0 loaded and without it loaded on my PC. I still cannot use Firefox and now my ZA tells me that my computer is at risk because my anti-virus/anti-spywareise not activated. However, everytime I click to turn them on, they immediately go off and the ZA update function does not work, it gives me an error message when I try to use it. Oh yes, I also cannot use internet links are are in eamils. Needless to say, I am totally frustrated with the whole process. Can you help me with this.
