AT&T Do not open my new iPhone to sim free :( NEED HELP PLEASE :(

I just bought an AT&T iPhone 4 from eBay and i live in Israel.
I need to unlock the phone because our "Carrier" {ORANGE} do not work if the iPhone not sim free.
I called AT&T "1-800-3310-500" few times follow this article: "http://www.noeman.org/gsm/mobile-phone-talk/48308-why-pay-t-unlock-code.html" for a "non-customers" section .
AT&T rep say that she cannot help me if I'm not an AT&T customer, I asked them what can i do? I bought the iPhone from eBay and the person that sold me the iPhone also send me an AT&T Sim card and when i insert to the iPhone and open the iTune i saw the old number so i told to the AT&T rep that i have an old AT&T Sim and if she can open the phone? She say OK took my IMEI number and then suddenly she ask me what is the 4 social number digit of the Sim holder? I told her i don't know i bought the phone from eBay i only have the person name, Sim number and paypal confirmation, i don't know the social number... then she say that she cannot do nothing...
Please help what can i do?

The iPhone 4 I mentioned above was bought from eBay I have problems that the iPhone is locked to AT&T carrier although the previous customer graduated his payments to the company.
In the last few days I called (1-800-3310-500) and Corresponded ([email protected]) with AT&T number of times and ask from the represent to open the phone to Sim free because I live in Israel and my Carrier is “ORANGE” and when I remove AT&T Sim and insert my local Sim, the phone not working. I told them that I can send them the PayPal transaction confirmation on the Acquisition and the IMEI on the phone.
They say that only AT&T customers can ask to open the phone and I'm not a customer thats why they cannot begin the apply request to Apple.
I love Apple products and I use them every day and very happy.
When someone say to me change to Android products I tell him it's like to compare between BMW and Subaru cars, ofcource the BMW represend the Apple IOS system.
I think what AT&T doing is Bullying!!!

Are Apple stores (not online) selling the iphone 4 SIM free?

i read in several places that buying the iphone 4 from the apple online store will get u a SIM free version. i wanted to know if you go to the Apple store, can we still get the iphone 4 SIM free straight from the store. Or is getting the iphone from the online store the only way to get it sim free?

Theoretically, yes, you should be able to walk into an Apple store and purchase a sim free iPhone.
However, if you were thinking of doing this on 24th, then I would not bother, unless you have either pre-ordered or reserved for in store pick up. You probably will not get one on launch day, unless you are prepared to go and camp outside your local Apple store from perhaps midnight on Wednesday, or 3 or 4am on Thursday.
I am sure there will be lots of disappointed people on launch day who come away without a phone. Unless you have reserved, then I would wait or go and order directly from the Apple UK store and you will get it delivered by July 14th then.

Believe I've firxed my problem, at least, ITunes is now working again. I followed the information provided from a couple of posts on this thread, (1) re restarting with command-s held down; did it twice, made no differerence; (2) manually re-installed the Security update; no difference; each time restarting, no effect; (3) shutdown the computer; I did for 35 minutes, upon restart, ITunes is back to normal, seems to be working fine. Turning the computer off must clear the cache?

My iPhone 5 keeps saying sim failure and invalid sim I need help please!?!?!

I really need help I just got my iPhone 5 yesterday and its telling me "sim failure" and then "invalid sim" shows up on the top left corner. I had an android before so I didn't need a SIM card so I went to apple and they gave me one and them went to sprint to activate my iPhone to my number but it still shows those annoying messages!!!

I'm in Bali and my Iphone is missing. Need help please figuring out what to do.

I tried to locate it by using ICloud but got a message says the phone is offline. Then I locked it via I Cloud. Now I have an email saying:
"Putra wijaya was locked at 10:57 PM on April 19, 2012 using your new passcode.", and IPhone shows this name listed on my phone on ICloud. I'm trying to track down this person but it may be impossible since it the phone location won't show up on I Cloud.. What should I do? I sent a message to the phone offering a reward but I'm not sure if the message will get through if the phone is locked. If it's locked does that mean the person can't use it? Why does the phone now have this persons name attached to it on my I Cloud page? Should I wipe the phone and cut my losses? If I wipe it does that mean I no longer can communicate with it? My hope was that if the phone is locked the person can't use it, and if he gets the message I sent offering a reward, he will return it. But I have no idea if the message will get through, or how this all works with I Cloud. Thanks so much for advice!

The searching is not wi-fi related - it is searching for a cell network. You need to disable 3G and Cellular data uder Settings, General, Network.
To find your settings and google icons, swipe the screen left to reveal other screens - they're there somewhere

IPhone 2.0 update- NEED HELP PLEASE

i downloaded the new software and plugged my phone in to the computer while it uploaded on my phone. i went into the other room for a few seconds and when i came back it looked like the upload had finished but a notice had popped up. the notice closed by itself before i could finish reading it. the only thing i managed to read was to leave the phone connected. its been an hour since then and nothing has happend and when i press the home button its a picture of the white apple usb cord with an arrow pointing to the itunes icon. did i miss some imporatant instructions or does it just take a long time? please help :]

It takes a while, depending on how busy the server is.
The sign you missed said , basically, do not unplug the iphone when this process finishes your iphone will be recognized in itunes. After that, at some point, it connects to the server. Then after a while of that it restores the software on the iphone. Then everything looks like normal again.

my iphone suddenly shut down. i tried to press on button and tried to reset it but it wont work. when i charged it the apple logo appeared i left it for at least two hours. when i came back the apple logo is still there. then i tried reseting it. the connecto to itunes appeard. i cannot restore it. itunes keeps saying an error occured(21). and one more thing. when i unplug in from charger or pc it turns off. as if it has no battery/battery is doesnt work. is it the batt or the ios? please help

I Had your problem to a 100% match. I took my phone to the Apple store yesterday and it actually turned out to be a bad battery connection. The connector was bent, making contact but screwing up the memory. My second battery replacement on my iPhone 4. $89.00 This absolutely and instantly fixed the problem. Please let me know if this helps ( or any of the ther 4 of you wiht this problem. I just created an account so I could answer your question.The Apple guy did tell em he had to put it in UDE mode whihc doesn't matter a bit if you're not there getting teh battery. I don't know what UDE mode is,. but I see it metnioned here a lot.To re-iterate, he said it would have done nothing for me on my own.

Hi everyone.
I seem to have done something really stupid. In the finder window, I renamed the 'folder' that has the house next to it, from Michaellastname just to Mike. Following that, I went into Front Row to watch a movie saved in my "Movie" folder. Low and behold, Front Row told me that there was nothing saved in that folder, despite the fact that I verified and it was there (I ended up watching it in Quicktime).
Thinking that I maybe just went about creating another user account, and that if I logged out of this new 'Mike' account everything would be ok. Logging out and logging back in seemed to restore my computer to its original settings ... nothing on the desktop, the dock is the way it was when i took it out of the box, and all my photos and music files etc are missing (well they're still there in that 'Mike' folder, meanwhile 'Michaellastname' still exists). There was no other account to log into other than 'Michaellastname'. Now I don't know what to do ... I would like to move all of my files and settings back to 'Michaellastname' and get rid of the 'Mike' folder, but don't want to try anything on my own because I'm clearly incompetent.
Can anyone please shed some light on my stupidity and explain how I can fix what I've done? Thank you!

This is something that happens quite often, so don't feel bad. The ones who should feel bad are the programmers who neglected to have Finder pop a warning when you try to do this, or written code to prevent you doing it at all. It happens so often that Apple provides an article on what to do to fix it:

What MacBook Pro year do you have? It has to be at least Mid-2012 per http://support.apple.com/kb/HT6337 for Continuity/Handoff to work.

I have your circuit with the meters in place for you to examine. I believe this set-up to be accurate. You can not check current from your point a and b. you have to check it in each branch. You can check the voltage at point a and b. Also, in your circut, there was no ground. Multisim requires at least one ground in order to simulate and it doesn't matter in this case where you put it. This is just a reference for measurement that is required for Multisim.
There are other ways to measure this. You could do it with the multimeters, measurement probes if your version has this option or the way I did it with the ammeters and voltmeters under the INDICATORS tab in the component toolbar.
Don't be too concerned about the negative readings on the ammeter. That just indicates that I placed them in the circuit with the wrong polarity and current is flowing against them. I really just forgot to place them in the correct direction
I will let you look at this and hopefully it will match any calculated results you may have come up with.

iTunes will not open on my iPhone after the new update 10/18/13. It opens on my iPad that also has the new update; just not my iPhone.

OK, so what troubleshooting steps have you taken? Have you taken the ones recommended in the User Guide? Exactly what HAVE you done thus far to help solve your problem?

Pages app does not open on my iPhone 4 running iOS 5.01, touch the icon and it just returns to the home page where the icon for the pages app is. I have Pages on my Macbook and have uploaded docs to the iCloud. Phone iCloud is on. What am I missing?

Now one more question: How do I open an iCloud pages document on my iPhone? I see how to create new documents and how to open one that is stored on iDisk, iTunes or WebDAV ... I do not see an option for opening one that is stored in iCloud???? Thanks.

I got an iphone 4. I had to update my macbook pro to Lepard just to sync. I updated to lepard. Now when I try to sync itunes does not recognize my new iphone 4 as mine and wants to erase everything I have bought using the phone.

Nope - you cannot restore a backup from a newer iOS version on to a device running an older iOS version. The reverse works, but in your case to use your backup, you must update to iOS 7.0.3 - no other option if you want to use that backup.
