AT&T WAN card

Are there AT&T WAN cards available for purchase?  I've noticed that Verizon cards are available.

  • SL500 throws error 1804 (unauth. WAN card), impossible to boot

    Just as a note upfront: I'm aware of similar threads like for example SL300 throws error 1804 (unauth. WAN card), impossible to boot. So here is my posting:
    I get the 1804 error during boot. I can not enter BIOS any longer. Yesterday I could boot one time despite the fatal error message that says it halts the system (and it does normally), I somehow managed to get into the BIOS anyway, changed some settings and the could boot into the OS. Unfortunately today this does not seem possible any longer.
    I tried to remove the WAN card to boot again but one of the two screws is wasted and I can not remove it. The other went out with no problems. So right now, the card is stuck inside and I can not remove it.
    I also tried to disconnect the CMOS backup battery, but this did not help.
    So I need help from someone with actual technical expertise to circumvent that fatal error on boot time. I know that normal IBM/Lenovo support personal can reset the bios, change the serial number etc. So I assume some tools and key-kombinations exist so that I can still boot this laptop.
    As written, yesterday already I could boot that laptop even that error comes all the time. But I don't know how I managed that.
    The only way I can imagine right now is to physically break up the WAN card so that it can removed in parts and the edge with the screw in can stay in while the card is destructed and therefore could be disconnected from the slot. However doing that, there is high risk to destroy more of that computer which I would like to prevent.
    Any help is greatly appreceated. The WAN card was not in use. I have no clue why that problem pops up after years of use of that devide without any changes.

    If you can enter BIOS again, go to Security > I/O Port Access > WWAN and set it to Disabled.
    As for the screw/card, I had the exact same experience with an X61's WLAN card. It's far harder to rip apart the card than it is to drill through the screw head. (I ended up trying to snap the card before drilling, so...)

  • T400 Wan Card

    Hi,
    Do anyone know's if the Wan card from Sierra(vodafone) that cames on T60 is compatible with the T400?
    On the Sierra card there is no aux connector only the main. The T400 has 2 cables main and aux....
    Thanks

    It's possible that you need to deselect the option "Allow the wireless LAN radio to be turned off when inactive" found under Global settings.
    Launch ThinkAdvantage Access connections ===> Options ===> Global Settings and confirm if the aforementioned option is selected.  If it is, deselect it and see if that fixes your problem.

  • HP 6910p laptop with Matshita ujda775 dvd drive and SIM Card slot

    Hello everyone ,
    I have an HP Compaq 6910p with Windows 7 ultimate 32bit installed, the laptop has Matshita ujda775 DVD Drive,
    After a search about its specifications I found on ehow - Matshita UJDA775 Specifications that it can write to CDs  but when I try it says "Blank CD/DVD not detected " .
    how can I do it, If it is true that it can write to CDs?
    Another question is how to use the SIM card slot in my laptop to connect to the internet?
    Thank you.

    Yes it should burn CDs. Try the fix linked in this prior thread:
    http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-e-g-Windows-8/Optical-Drive-Will-Not-Burn/m-p/2795995...
    The SIM card slot takes a WAN card that must be registered on a network like Verizon or Sprint and will give you access like a smartphone. There is a monthly charge involved.

  • Question regarding LAN to WAN setup.....

    Hi everyone,
    I'm pretty new at routing and don't have much experience in it other than what I've learned in CCNA.  I'm going for my CCNP now and am starting to study for ROUTE.  As such, I need to lab, lab, lab.
    Please bear with me as I'm pretty much new at a lot of this stuff.
    I have a 2600 and currently, it only has one Ethernet port.  I'd like to get a WAN card/WIC for it but I'm not exactly sure which one I should get (or if one even exists.)
    I do have an extra T1 CSU/DSU card but I don't think I can use that to connect to anything but a T1 line, which I don't have.  (Note this is going to connect to one of my home Linksys Smart router's ports so as to have a LAN to WAN setup.  The Linksys provides Internet access throughout the house.)
    I did try to connect the T1 card to one of the Linksys's LAN ports but I'm not getting any activity at all.  (This leads me to believe this card is SOLELY to connect to a T1.)
    Basically, I'd like to have the Linksys on one network and the Cisco on a completely different network and have the two networks communicate with each other after configuring the appropriate routing protocol.  I've already tried this using ROAS utilizing VLANs and it worked perfectly but I now want to try it with completely different networks.  For example, my Linksys will be on 192.168.x.x and the Cisco will be on say, 10.1.x.x.
    Does Cisco offer a WAN card for my 2600 that isn't T1 and that will work with one of the Linksys's ports to accomplish this?
    I think I've read there is the NM-1E module that would give me an extra port.  But is that used as a LAN port or a WAN port?  Can an extra LAN card act as a WAN card if I simply configure it for the different network?
    Thanks!

    T1 CSU/DSU is a different physical technology from Ethernet.  It's often possible to connect two such interfaces, back-to-back, if two routers have these modules; doubtful your Linksys does.
    It's been a long time since I've worked with a 2600, but some models might have various options to add another Ethernet port and/or replace the T1 CSU/DSU module with one.  Cisco's main web site should have that information.
    BTW, old hardware should be able configure basic routing, but if you're going for a CCNP, you might be unable to try out some newer IOS features you'll be expected to know and understand.

    Hi,
    I have the 2801 router with a VIC3-2FXS card that is not detecting, I see it with sh diag command like Unkown WAN card.

    No, it's not from Lenovo.
    That's your problem right there.
    Lenovo-issued WLAN and WWAN cards have custom firmware that is recognized by BIOS which will "bark" at any other card, even if the basic card - AC7260 in your case - is the same.
    Get a genuine Lenovo card or flash a modded BIOS.

  • Express Card Slot on MacBook?

    Has anyone heard if Apple plans to have an express card expansion slot on future macbooks like they do on the PRO models. I want an ultra-portable notebook with the ability to accept the new EDVO WAN cards for the 34mm express slot?
    Thanks - Kevin
    PowerBook G4 & imac   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

    I would think it were highly unlikely for Apple to include a slot of any kind in the MacBook. Apple reserves such funtionality for their Pro models. While I think the use of the word "never" is a little strong it's probably appropriate.

  • 2811 w/CableDocsis and AP-AG card not recognized

    Just purchased a 2811 router with voice and wan cards. The voice cards pick up fine. For whatever reason, can't recognize the HWIC-Cable card and the HWIC-AP-AG card. with a show diag I get the following
    WIC Slot 0:
    Unknown WAN daughter card
    WIC module not supported/disabled in this slot
    This happens for both cards but the voice cards come up fine. Have tried swapping the cards/slots around to no avail.
    Currently running
    Cisco IOS Software, 2800 Software (C2800NM-ADVIPSERVICESK9-M), Version 12.4(3g), RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc2)
    which I believe should support these HWIC cards. Anyone have any idea as to why I can't get either of these WAN cards to recognize in this 2811 ? Thanks.

    The Motherboard WIC slots are numbered from 0 to 3 and the Cisco cable HWIC is supported in the WIC slots of Cisco IAD2431.

  • Thinkpad E540 WAN

    Does the Thinkpad E540 come standard with simcard internet?
    I have gotten this laptop it has a sim slot but cannot get it to work via WAN?
    By all looks it doesn't have a modem installed any assistance please would be greatly appreciated, and if I need to add a modem where can I get one?

    You probably have only the sim slot, but not the WAN card installed. It's expensive and you buy it as an extra.
    It's for the M.2 slot, located next to the clock battery/wireless bay. : )

  • T410 - 2537AL8 LAN vs WAN

    What is the difference in usage between LAN and WAN? When do I need the WAN Card?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    There's a Wireless LAN card (aka WLAN) which is your standard 802.11 Wi-Fi card.
    There's also an option for a Wireless WAN card (aka WWAN) which uses cell-tower 3G internet.

  • Dell XT2 Upgrade to Windows 8, Embedded WWAN Not Turned On

    I've been working on a friend's computer, and upgraded her Tablet/Laptop Inspiron XT2 (originally with XP Media) to Windows 8 Pro. The laptop has an embedded (believe it's the 5600) WAN card for Verizon. I got the driver installed from Dell's website, yet Verizon's Broadband software (VZAccess) tells me it's not turned on. I've checked hardware switches, the fn+f4 (or whichever combo it was), looked in network connections, checked using Unknown Devices to detect, and still no avail. In device manager, the only unknown devices are the fingerprint reader and the touch screen, which makes me think the wwan card is properly installed, just not being detected by connection manager. Any ideas on how to proceed?

  • F3507g GPS not working after sleep/resume Windows 7

    Under Windows 7 on ThinkPads with the F3507g Mobile Broadband Connection, there have been two long-standing problems:
    (a) after sleep/resume, the F3507g (Wireless WAN) disappears from the Fn+F5 menu;
    (b) after sleep/resume, ThinkVantage GPS does not work (forever displays Fix Type: N/A).
    By searching these forums, you can find past threads about these problems, none with a reproducible resolution.
    I am pleased to say that the latest driver update for the F3507g (v6.1.10.5  7UW708WW) appears to ameliorate problem (a) in that the F3507g Wireless WAN eventually re-appears in the Fn+F5 menu if you give it a few tens of seconds after a resume.  This update is available from:
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-73681
    However, the non-working GPS after sleep/resume is still not solved.  Even though the "Wireless WAN" card is present and shown powered-on in the Fn+F5 menu, ThinkVantage GPS (2.60) is stuck on Fix Type: N/A, and the Windows 7 Weather gadget does not automatically discover the location.  Both applications work fine after a full Windows restart, but not after a sleep/resume.
    I have, however, discovered a work-around which restores GPS operation without a full restart:
    Open Device Manager;
    Expand "Universal Serial Bus controllers";
    Right-click "F3507g Mobile Broadband Device" and select "Disable";
    Wait for the system to settle down again;
    Right-click "F3507g Mobile Broadband Device" and select "Enable";
    Wait for the system to settle down again.
    Now you can press Start in ThinkVantage GPS, and Fix Type will quickly change from "N/A" to "No Fix", and then onward to satellite discovery.  And after a few false starts, the Windows 7 Weather gadget will discover the location.
    The fact that this work-around restores GPS operation indicates that the underlying fault is a driver software issue.
    The above symtoms and work-around have been verified on both a ThinkPad X301 and a ThinkPad T400s.  Neither have ThinkVantage Access Connections installed.  The X301, when previously running under Vista with the previous generation of drivers, did not display these symptoms: the symptoms appeared with the upgrade to Windows 7.

    Actually mine works fine after applying all the updates available on T400 w/ Windows 7 Pro 64bit. I can sleep/shutdown as much as I want and the GPS works.
    By the way, you have to goto your bios to reset your settings to default by pressing F9. Maybe you should try this and see if that solves your problem.
    The only GPS related issue that is not fixed is the issue of dual booting into linux. I dual boot into linux, and when that happens the GPS problem re-occurs once I log back into windows. The only way for me to fix the problem again at that point, is if I go back into the bios and hit F9 again, then re-enter windows.
    If I were to stay in a windows environment indefiniately, there is no problem. The problem is once I enter Linux, the problem in windows will occur again (maybe the powerstate settings by the linux kernal messes up the settings on the card).
