"=" at the end of composed message

hey there,
a friend of mine told me, that my emails composed in Mail contain a "=" at the end of the text (e.g. "Best wishes="), leading (at least in some cases) to a spam suspicion of my messages. I can only see this character if I choose to view in raw source mode. It's not depending on the email account, also the text encoding makes no difference (tried iso-8859 and utf-8).
is somebody familiar with this problem? It's really annoying as I am depending on a troublefree email system

maybe you could paste some lines of the raw source code (including header lines if there are any) ? Also, do you have a line reading "Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable" above your text ?
I'm asking this, because the equal sign at the end of a line could be the "soft line break" of a "quoted-printable" encoded text.
In this case, two possibilities :
1) the mail client your friend's using does not correctly decode the quoted-printable encoded text
2) Mail does not correctly encode the message (Mail actually has a bug encoding some attachments, see my thread here http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=10593560#10593560 )

Launch iTunes on your new computer then from the menu bar click Store / Authorize This Computer.
Try syncing.

The exact message was " could not access network location itunes\".
Although you're getting a different error message, try the following user tip with that one:
"not a valid short file name" and "invalid character" install errors

Attaching documents to the end of messages

I like for my attachments to be inserted at the end of my messages when I send messages in "Mail". Is there a way to set a default that always inserts my attachments at the end of my messages? Or do I have to manually select them to be inserted at the end of my messages? If not this default needs to be added to the "Mail" app.

Have you looked at the man pages for less ? - the shortcut keys are listed there. Including that F takes you to the end of file and waits for more file output to be displayed.

Upgrade error message from itunes, it downloads for 20 minutes then at the end gives me an error message saying lost server

I have tried 4 times to download and sync itunes update to ipod touch. from 3.1.2 to 4.2. 20 min. later it gets to the end an error message pops up saying lost connection and no update.

Never mind I fixed it. Just in case anyone else has this problem, after you reinstall iTunes you have to delete all your old music, and if you have iTunes match all the songs you have saved on itunes match will display and you just have to download them to your Macbook.

im currently running logic pro 7 academic on my g5--"the end of file reached" pop up occured (i think it was error code 43) and it said something about preferences i accidently hit the save button and i guess it saved the preferences(since then it has not popped up again)--i cannot hear anything from any of my files--all i am able to is basically look at the arrange window with 4 audio tracks and tracks from my keyboard---when i try to create audio instruments a pop up says "no more tracks available"--ive reloaded both of the logic discs and still am unable to get anything to work

OK, that's quite a lot in one go...and you have deadlines..let's see if we can clear things up?
You say you cannot hear anything...Have you ever had output coming out of Logic or is this your first try? If you can't hear anything, how on earth are you recording?
(I take it the "end of file" message shows up while recording?)
Are you using an audio interface or running straight out of the G5's internal audio card?
I've never had that "end of file" message but I suspect it can have something to do with the maximum recording time.
You set it under the Audio menue/Set Audio Record Path (Apple/A)
Now, to the Tracks:
Have you ever run the Set-Up Assistant (Logic Pro menue/Preferences/Logic Set-Up Assistant)? If not, I recommend you do. Here you can set the framework for your Audio Environment, How many tracks, busses etc.
Sorry if this is too basic for you, i'ts hard to tell how deep in to the application you are.

Not able to compose message in HTML using webaccess

I would greatly appreciate your input in this matter, since I upgraded from GW2012 to Gw2014-Sp1 WebAccess no longer gives any user the option to compose message in HTML. Viewing Html is OK. This is affecting all users and all forms of composing (mail, tasks, Cal..) IE, Google Chrome . I am running the WebAccess on Windows Server 2012 R2, single server setup. I have tried renaming all related WebAccess folders, including tomcat6 and reinstalling with no luck.
Please help!

I am aware that W2K12-R2 is supported, I currently have it running on a similar server with out any issues. This particular Server has issues since updating to SP1, after further troubleshooting I been able to narrow it down to a single file. I am currently working with Novell Support , I installed some new Builds but problem persist. I will report back the results once problem has been corrected.

Installation of Quicktime 7.1 aborts at the end

I am currently running Quicktime 6.5.2. I have attempted to install Quicktime 7.1 standalone on my desktop several times (done successfully on my IBM laptop). There is only one user on this computer, administrator, who has full rights to install (checked in registry). I have the latest Windows Installer 3.1 v.2 software. I have tried both installing 7.1 OVER 6.5.2 and then uninstalled 6.5.2 and attempted clean install of 7.1, all unsuccessfully. I have even attempted an installation from SAFE mode (as suggested by Apple). I have disabled all programs not necessary in my taskbar and task manager. All installations fail at the end during "Publishing Product Information." This program runs fabulously on my IBM laptop (with a slower processor). What now?

I followed your instructions...AND I entered the registry, located all references to quicktime and deleted them. I disabled antivirus, the firewall, and all other programs running in the taskbar. After a reboot, I downloaded a new QT installer 7.1...it did the exact same thing. It stopped the installation near the end, with a message that the installation had been interrupted and to try to reinstall the software at a later date. Since my desktop computer is the only one (my others have Intel) with an AMD processor, perhaps the program is incompatible with it. I can't believe that I am the only person who seems to have this problem. If it happened to others, perhaps Apple would know what the problem is and authorize a fix. Too bad for me...this desktop computer of mine has the best monitor for viewing MOV files. But, now, I cannot see HD files with only Quicktime 6.5.

FCE 4 Froze At The End Of VHS Capture Through DAC-100.

I spent a large part of yesterday copying a 2 hour VHS tape to FCE 4 via my DAC-100.
At the end of the 2 hours I pressed the esc key only to hear a warning "thud" bleep and find that FCE had suddenly frozen.
After I force-quit I found the 25GB file was useless.
I tried again with a 30 minute capture with the same result.
During each attempted capture I had briefly answered an email.
Assuming that my short internet use had caused the end freeze I tried again, not using any other computer function and succeeded.
Whilst using the web is the chief suspect, could there be another obvious cause? (I am sure that in the past I have used the iMac whilst capturing).
The irritating thing was that it waited until the capture was finished before freezing!

Thanks to your info I can now use Spaces!
Here are the results:-
1. With FCE capturing in Window 1, I can switch to Window 2 and open Mail (or any other app), use it and go back to Window 1. (This works with both camera and converter captures).
The Mail name is still in the menu in Window 1 and I can't bring up FCE's name but it does not matter because pressing esc stops the capture and puts FCE's name back in the menu.
2. For it all to work, I must OPEN the new app in the new window. If the app is already open, even though I "wake" it up in Window 2, it will lock FCE when I go back to Window 1.
3. As mentioned previously, if FCE locks whilst capturing from a camera, I can simply manually stop the camera, FCE will unlock and I get the "End of Tape" message. The capture is successful. But this technique does not work when capturing with a converter.
So, you have shown me that I can use other apps whilst capturing by using Spaces, but it does not explain why I have the original problem.
I have just done some capture tests on my G4 eMac (OSX 10.4.10) and opening other apps during capture does not cause a problem.

SOLUTION: Dealing with the 'end of file' error

Adobe have not only failed to fix the constant 'end of file' error after 6 versions but also, even worse, failed to make the error in any way useful. If you get this error when building a complex project, you have to completely rebuild your project to find the cause. This is a huge issue when dealing with projects like the one I'm currently doing: 7 different discs (projects), each with about 20 timelines.
A simple 'end of file: NAME OF FILE' in the error message would solve this.
However, luckily (as I would have otherwise killed myself by now), I have found a much quicker way of finding problematic files. This is the Windows solution, but hopefully there's an equivelant Mac way of doing it.
Get Process Monitor from here.
Run it, and hit the Filter button on the toolbar.
Add filters for:
Process Name is Adobe Encore.exe
Operation is ReadFile
Go start your build process
When the 'end of file' message appears, switch over to Process Monitor and scroll down to the bottom
Scroll up until you see the last time a file of yours was accessed
There's your culprit
The actual problem with the file usually seems related to Encore not dealing with externally created files very well. Import a non-DVD/blu-ray ready copy of your video and transcode it internally, that seems to fix it.
Adobe needs to stop work on every new feature or bugfix for Encore, and fix the error messages. Bugs are inevitable, but not having adequate error messages or logging so the bugs can be worked around is unforgiveable. It's a simple matter and should be fixed immediately.

BUG: When using HTML buttons, message view goes to the end
