Hi there,
I have had my Macbook for 18 months and have never experienced this problem with strange windows suddenly opening in Safari. I know this happens on windows 8 computers a lot, and it has never happened on my Macbook before.
Please can someone tell me how to get rid of these. I have reset my Safari and rebooted my computer, and don't know what else to do. This is very frustrating, as I cannot just do what I need to do.

Text Messaging and calendar Alerts are silent. Don't know how to turn them back on.
My phone has suddenly stopped making sounds for texts or calendar reminders. I checked the settings and it says it should be making a sound. I get vibrating. The only sound I get is the phone ringing for calls. I'm missing lots of text and reminders.
I dont' believe it every text since the test text has been silent again. I did another "hard reset" and this time it didn't clear the problem. Thought maybe my test text from the computer might be the only text that gets a sound, but nope. Again I'm running silent with only vibration.

I have backed my pictures and videos with I cloud, they are gone now, how do I retrieve them.
Photos don't get deleted when they are backed up. Try a reset: hold down the home button along with the power button until you see the Apple, then let go

I have Itunes set up to sync with my Ipod touch and Ipad. As of today, iTunes has started searching to sync with an iPhone, which I don't have and pops open with an error message stating it cannot locate the iPhone to sync. I have looked in devices and only the iPad and iPod Touch are listed. Any ideas on how to stop iTunes from searching for any iPhone it is never going to find? It is annoying to have it popping up all the time with the error message. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

They would only be where you put them. What program did you use to import them? Pics/vids taken with ipod are not part of the sync process at all. You should be importing them just as you would with any digital camera.
If you did not import them, then they are not on your computer. -
Incorrect Password is auto. Entered and i don't know how to stop this.?
When I open a certain page on Safari an incorrect password is automatically entered and i don,t know how to stop this from happening.
I just delete and reenter, but this is a pain. How can i fix this?
alSettings>Safari>Autofill>Clear all. You will have to start over again with all of your passwords.

Sounds to me like you may have gotten a machine with hardware issues, but it's hard to say. It will shut down if it gets too hot, but that's not a normal occurrence. I have never seen a MacBook Pro shut down due to heat, even after lengthy 3D gaming sessions where the fans are running fast and the bottom of the machine is unpleasant to touch.
First thing I would try to do is reset the SMC. If that doesn't help, erase the hard drive and reinstall the system from scratch, which you should always do with a used machine anyway.
If a fresh system doesn't help, you'll need to get it checked out by Apple.
Edit: Oh, and sig is absolutely right... please don't post in all caps! It's very irritating. -

Well, you're not alone. The question is why is this happening? Since the referenced link shows the same type of problem with Yahoo finance, I suspect there is a coding problem on the site, specific to how Firefox is reading the code. Not being a programmer, I can't offer specific advice other than contacting either Firefox through their Community forum, or Yahoo Finance. -
Hi. I tried switching my Apple ID email address to my new email address and I don't know how to switch it for iCloud and iTunes. Please help!! It seems like Apple thinks I have two separate accounts, when I just tried to simply change it!

Just purchased a Time Capsule. Had to call Comcast to disable the WIFI and have internet connection. The time capsule though blinks amber and the Airport Utility shows blinking amber light and has a red circle with the number 1 in it. After connecting, my computer tried doing a backup for the first time and it appeared that it was backing up and finished although I don't know how to check to make sure that it did backup. How do I check and shouldn't the light on the time capsule be blinking green and the airport utility show green?
TM will show it has done a backup.. Look at the info.. when was the backup completed??

There is an error.. probably trivial.. firmware update, default password..
Open the airport utility and find out what the error is.
Simply click the TC and see status in the summary page.. it will list all the errors and what you should do.. fix or ignore them. ie this TC has an error.. default password.. I chose to ignore.. when I "fix" the problem the LED goes green.
Here is additional TC.. it is blinking amber with faults.
Click the fault. eg default password.
You can ignore or edit .. if you click edit it will take you to the full setup where you can change the settings.
I ignored my errors and now it is green.. -
After using the Word in ICloud and creating a new project named recipes then putting a recipe in now I don't know how to add a new page with another recipe and save it to the same project the first one is in. I don't see any icon that will save?

The whole story: The hard drive on my quite new Mac Book Pro, bought in December of 2011, crashed and burned in the Fall of 2012. I purchased a new hard drive and was informed that the only way I could have saved my "stuff" was to back it up with an external hard drive. Who knew?? I bought a G Drive Slim at the Apple store, and on their advice. BUT I really don't understand how to use it, and the instructions are completely inadequate. How can you tell when it is finished? I have educated myself on the proper way to eject the Drive, but I don't know how to tell if it is done. Or, frankly, if it is even doing anything. The white light burns steadily, no blinking, no flickering. Nothing. Thanks for help.
are you backing up files, or doing a Time machine backup, either way, the Time machine will STOP when finished and show "last backup at XXXXXX" meaning its done...... OR if when transferring files, it will show a progress bar on your desktop and vanish when files are copied.
Open up the Hitachi drive (your G drive is made by Hitachi, and the best made by the way).....and see if the files are there.
a MORE VISUAL way is to open the hard drive file, and drag and drop files INTO the Gdrive and you can see them visually be copied there as you do it.
To see your HD on your desktop GOTO FINDER......PREFERENCES....then GENERAL TAB.........check the box marked HARD DRIVES.........then your Gdrive will appear on your desktop........open it from there, and DRAG and drop files from anywhere INTO the Gdrive....... easy visual way to see the files being copied into the Gdrive. -

I was downloading add ons; i let it wait until i left the site to load, but it's been running & showing the center spinning & "loading, please wait; it's been doing this for several hours & i don't know to stop or disable it
There is a rectangular white box between the top & bottom of the screen with no buttons on it. The wheel turns with 'loading, please wait'. There is a little arrow on the upper left with 2 green & gold 'men'. When I click on it this message shows up on the screen "Please accept the Terms of Service first (Add a social network). The only way I can get the wheel to quit turning is to go to 'tools' & click on options & it stops turnning. I already had a yahoo, facebook & twitter accounts, so I don't know what to do.
I've checked in my Control Panel & there is nothing with Firefox in there. If I can't resolve this can someone tell me to how to unload all of this & start over.

Something started blocking certain parts of certain websites and I don't know how to stop it.
I have tried to locate the source of this annoying blocking of certain web sites pages while it wont block others.
Example: when I go to Craigslist and go to "For Sale" or "Free" categories its's fine, but now for some stupid reason when I go to a personals category it's blocked out and hijacked to a blank page with a bunch of ''''''????????????????????????'''''' at the top of the page and nothing else and the status says "done" below. I've tried going to add ons and figure it out but I cleared all the pop-up blockers and I thought it helped, but it didn't.
(And before you think what you are thinking the answer is "No - I don't live with a jealous gf or anyone else that has access to my computer...zilch!) It's frustrating when I click a toolbar location and it comes back blocked!Also for your issue
