At what point do I start to panic?

I'm doing a complete restore of my Macbook 120 gig hard drive via Time Capsule using Ethernet. I'm doing it because whenever I tried to install Vista via Boot Camp I got the infamous and seemingly unconquerable "File is too large to move" error.
I started the restore a good five hours ago. It's been stuck at 33.2% for at least two hours. The Leopard DVD is spinning on and on, the estimated time remaining has been slowing moving higher and higher and is now at a whopping 8 hours and 22 minutes.
What the **** do I do now?

Yes! I was considering just trying to do a restore off the Ethernet again, but USB should be more stable and quicker? Right?

What the heck is a "Kernal panic" and how can I fix this?

Lately, several of my partitions (external firewire) running OS 10.3.9 have crashed and are no longer bootable. one partition crashed upon being turned on, and said that there was 'no driver for powerbook 6, 5' and 'kernal stopping here...' I started up from a different partition, and installed the latest security update, and that repaired my kernal, but now for some reason, I am not an 'administrator,' but I am the only user of this computer. any suggestions?
someone had this happen in class, and I found out that the problem that I was experiencing was called a 'kernal panic,' and now I want to know why this happens, how to prevent this from happening, and the best software tool to check the health of my system folder. anyone got any suggestions?
I'm considering installing a clean version of OS 10.3.3, and updating to 10.3.9, but if there is a faster way to fix this, then I'm all ears! thanks!

From your description of what is happening it does not sound like a kernel panic. See What’s a kernel panic. In terms of what to do see: Resolving Kernel Panics
I suspect that your HDD is in serious need of maintenance. Here's what I would do:
1. Go to Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility. In the left panel select your HDD (manufacturer ID), and in the main panel select the First Aid tab. Click Repair Disk Permissions.
2. Boot from your install disk. Go to the Installer menu and launch Disk Utility. Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in left panel and First Aid in main panel. Click Repair Disk. If DU reports disk needs no repair quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors, click Repair again, and again until DU reports the disk is repaired. If DU reports errors it cannot repair you will need to use a utility like Tech Tool Pro or Disk Warrior.
3. Download MacJanitor and run all the procedures, the follow regular schedule.
4. Take a look at Gulliver's article Mac OS X System Maintenance and implement procedures.

At what point is it a good practice to Drop and Add back an Article for Transactional Replication?

Hi,
We have transactional replication Setup in our company , a set of tables involved in replication needed to be reloaded on prod say about 12-13 Million rows .
We decided to drop the articles and add it back to replication so that a new snapshot for the specific articles can be generated and the transfer of data is fast and no breakage in the replication.
But what is the best practice or a threshold point for taking this route i.e dropping an article and adding it back ?
I mean
when Is it good to go this route i.e when the load is more than 10, 000 rows or 50.000 rows 100,000 or at what number do we start this process?

That is a function of horsepower and bandwidth.
If you do drop a table out rather than replicate a 1% change of its data, 100% of the table will need to be snapshotted which might cause havoc with users trying to access that table, and if you are running immediate sync all of the tables will need to be
resnapshotted.
With the Enterprise Edition of SQL Server you will be able to use a sync type of database_snapshot which will mean no locking, otherwise it could be painful. Initialize from a backup is also an option to save you the cost of a snapshot.

What part of that statement in your link do you not get? App developers will or will not make those changes, not Apple. It is entirely possible some apps will never get updated for retina, as their developers will drop those products and move on to new ones. Yes, Apple may set certain minimum standards and requirements for inclusion of anyone's app in their storefront (as I already said), but it is entirely up to the developers to actually implement those changes. Complaining on an Apple forum that a particular developer chose not to is pointless and a waste of everyone's time.

What html code will start an EXE (program) with a click on a webpage link?

The code in bold below worked. After I switched my browser from IE 11 to Firefox to get the hover on hotspots to work, the program gave me this error message. I moved the EXE file to my local file folder and tried it as shown below. Still no success. Any suggestions?

However, you will still have problems with getting it to work cross-browser. Honestly, browsers are not supposed to have access like that to the client side file system, which absolutely makes sense for the web.
That is why you may have to approach the solution from a different angle - perhaps create a server side cloud version of your application(s) which can be easily accessed and run by your family members. I believe you used C to develop the applications? Although I have no experience with this framework, Wt might be a solution to convert your projects to server side applications:

It's been two years since Windows 7 64 bit computers came out. At what point is Firefox thinking of providing a browser that is compatible with this. I haven't used Firefox for 2 years as a results. And what exactly is Waterfox?

If you do a search on the web, you will discover that I am far from the only one who finds that she cannot use Firefox because it is incompatible with Windows 7 64 bit. I'm pretty sure there must be hundreds of thousands of users out there that can not use Firefox for the same reason. At what point are you thinking of updating your browser?
Also are you connected to Waterfox and is it safe?

In device manager tick Show hidden devices, under view on the toolbar.
If DM cannot see it you cannot install a driver, not sure why that hardware will not get detected.

I have an issue with "File Browse" type item, my question is: at what point the fields mime_type, file_name, last_update_date get their values? I want to add them to the collection but if I try to do it in Process "On Submit - After Computations and Validations" the values in those fields are still null (that's for the insert, and for the update they have old values). Also I don't seem to be able to add blob to the collection ("File Browse" type item (which has the source as blob database column) can't be assigned as parameter p_blob001 of APEX_COLLECTION.ADD_MEMBER, error is: PLS-00306: wrong number or types of arguments in call to 'ADD_MEMBER').
What I am trying to do is this: I have parent table (TABLE1), and child table (TABLE2). In TABLE2 I store documents. I have a main page that is form on TABLE1, and on it I have button "Add documents" that opens popup window with form on TABLE2. On submit of popup page I want to avoid inserting document into TABLE2, instead I want to send data to the main page (using collection) and insert in only once the main page is submitted.
I would appreciate any advice on this...

Publishing point is not starting in the windows media server

In the setup VCS expressway starter pack is used as call controller & the endpoints are registered to it. TCS is used for recording. A existing publishing point is used for live streaming using windows media server. This publishing point is not started when the recording starts for this recording alias. Windows media server is running locally in the TCS. I could see the below in the server logs. Please note that this setup has worked with this configuration for more than a year and it stopped working now. Your help on this greatly appreciated. Thanks.

At what point is delta queue updated?

Hi everbody,
I want to know at what point delta queue is updated? Is it updated after a successful init load in BW or is it updated when the set up tables are filled? If i delete the delta queue do i need to run init load again?

The delta queue is a data store in the source system into which data records are automatically written using an update process in the source system (such as with FI documents) or using extraction using a function module after a data request from the BW

What is it 'warm start' ??

Could anyone explain me what is it "warm start" in Oracle 10g? I have a standalone database and few days ago got such a message that it was required.
In metalink I only found this phase related with master and standby databases.

You probably get this message from dbstart script, it means the database started normally.

I'm looking at the file browse page item and wanted to find out at what point does the file's data get placed in wwv_flow_files?
Does it do it automatically on page submit/refresh?

Hi Alistair,
there is no name for this process since it is not an APEX process. The mod_plsql or
PL/SQL embedded Gateway code is responsible for this. That's also the reason why
this must be configured in the modplsql's dads.conf file.
The insertion of files into WWV_FLOW_FILES is a process which you cannot
influence in an APEX environment. What you can do is coding an onSubmit process
which SELECTs the file from WWV_FLOW_FILES and inserts it into your own
table ... but the file will always take the path via WWV_FLOW_FILES
