At which service provider could I use my own phone...

I'm going to the USA for a few months and i would like to know at which service provider I could use my own phone (n95 8GB) on a prepaid package? I already asked Alltel and they said i could not use my phone on their network. I don't want to buy another phone. The phone is unlocked and is quadband so it will work in the USA.
Nokia N95 8GB V30.0.018 **Kudos are very welcome**

Maybe T-mobile are a good example. It's also worth noing that they are not a US company and are active in many markets, so they might not have the insular attitude of the US-owned networks (T-mobile actually grew from the German national phone company).
AT&T are one of the worst offenders for crippling the phones and conning their customers with their customised firmware - a good example of this is disabling the phone's built-in voice-dialling system so that their customers are forced to use their network-based equivelant, for which they charge a subscription fee.

  • Which service provider is my iphone is locked to ?

is there a way to find out which service provider my iphone is locked to ? maybe with serial number or imei number

Sounds like you most likely bought a US phone that has been hacked. Legitimately unlocked phones do not relock when you apply an update.
Your best bet is to put the phone back on ebay and buy an unlocked phone from a legitimate supplier in your country.

  • What service provider can you use with iphone that you buy at Apple

Because GPS has nothing to do with WiFi, cellular signals, or data of any sort. GPS is implemented by signals sent by satellites that are received by GPS receivers. The receivers process the information from the GPS satellites and calculate your location. GPS never sends data anywhere; GPS functionality is receive only.
If you have WiFi or cellular data turned on this can improve the accuracy of GPS, because the GPS receiver can then use the known location of cell towers and WiFi networks to refine the GPS location. GPS by itself has an accuracy of 10 meters, or about 34 feet. Using the additional information from WiFi and cellular data this can be brought down to 3 meters (10 feet). This mode is called Augmented GPS, or A-GPS.

  • How to know which service accounts I am using inside my SharePoint server

We were asked to send a list of all the services accounts that are being used inside our SharePoint server, as the system administrators need to apply a new password policy. So to check which accounts I am currently using, I went to these locations:-
From the “IIS Manager” >> Application pool. I checked the identity column for all the domain users.
From >SharePoint CA >> Security >> Configure managed accounts.
So my question is basically if there could be any service accounts inside my SharePoint server, that are not in the above two locations ?
    Thanks

Yes. SharePoint will add all service accounts it uses to the Managed Account list.
This will include accounts like the SharePoint Crawl Account which will not be used to run an Application Pool itself but will need to be part of your password change policy.
this means that in our case we have two accounts inside the "CA>>Security>>Managed Accounts" , and these are the ones used all over the sharepoint server ? is this correct ?

  • How do i know my service provider so i can update my phone?

will somebody help me know my serviceprovider fo me to be able to updte my phone? please?

    Hello,
Your service provider is whoever you pay every month for your mobile services. You can find a list here:
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/apps-and-software/desktop-and-device-download-sites.html
That list may not be all-inclusive, but it might give you a hint as to who you pay your bill to every month.
You also could check Manage Connections > Services Status and see what is listed for your Mobile Network services...that as well might be who you pay for your services.
    Good luck!

  • I have moved from uk to Ireland and changed my mobile provider, but I can't send texts to uk numbers.  My service provider say it is an I phone problem, not a service provider problem.

I have moved from uk to Ireland and had to change my service provider, but despite 3 calls to my service provider I can't send texts to the uk. They have checked it out by my using a different SIM card, but I still cannot send texts. They say it is problem with my iPhone 4's settings and told me to contact apple. Can anyone help me?

If you can find out what country your iPhone was officially sold in, you could take it there (or if originally sold in the EU, take it to any EU country where Apple officially sells the iPhone) or you could send the iPhone to someone you know in that country who could get it serviced and then ship it back to you. Apple Support does not accept shipments from other countries, and will not ship a serviced iPhone to another country.
This, though, presumes that the iPhone has not been modified as your service provider claimed. If it has, Apple will not provide service for it in any country.
You may be able to find out what country your iPhone was officially sold in by calling Apple Support:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
and giving them the serial number.
    Regards.

  • Which service provider to use with Iphone

If you had to choose between service providers is any certain one better with the Iphone?  Is ATT and Verizon at the top, or is Sprint and other providers good as well?

verizon has good service in terms of cell towers, but neither them nor att offer unlimited data (i was lucky enough to sign up b4 they stopped )
sprint offers unlimited data, which is very important for any smartphone but especially the iPhone.

  • Which service accounts should SP2010 use?

I'm getting the "Server farm account should not be used for other services" error for the following services:
    80 (Application Pool)
    SPUserCodeV4(Windows Service)
    OSearch14(Windows Service)
Web Analytics Data Processing Service(Windows Service)
But when I go to the Manage Service Accounts page, the only two account options I see are Local Service and Network Service. Which one should I use?

    Hi ,
Please create a domain account from your Active Directory server, then add this AD account as a managed account from SharePoint 2010 Central Administration site->"Configure managed accounts" page, then on the "Configure
service accounts" page, you can select this managed account for your SharePoint service or service application.

  • How to register a blackberry with the appropriate service provider ?

    Hello,
I've just bought a Pearl 8100. I've inserted my SIM card and the phone is working ok. However I can not send or receive any email and can't access the net. When I bought it, I was told to contact my service provider (Orange - UK) to get the phone set up. That's what I did and I was directed to a web site (w3.blackberry.orange.co.uk) where you have first to register as new user by giving your PIN and IMEI. However I haven't been able to complete the task as a message popped up saying that the phone was already registered with a different service provider and that I had to re-register it with the appropriate one. I personnally never registered the phone before but basically that's what I have to do so I need some help because I have no idea how to do that... Thanks....

    Hi.
I bought a BB pearl 8100 locked to Orange.
I have unlocked it and inserted my Virgin media Sim.
Problem...I cannot register it for email.!!I  followed the BB virgin media link and upon inputting IMEI and PIN it advised incorrect... even though its written on the back of phone... huh??
Apparently i'm not registered... with who?
How can i make my BB pearl work on Virgin media Email account.
Thanks for any help. i'm totally stuck!!
Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
You will need to contact your carrier for assistance. Be sure that you have an adequate service plan from them to enable your access to their BIS. Be sure that they can properly register your BB into their BIS. If you obtained your BB second hand, it is quite possible that the prior owner did not release the PIN from the Orange BIS...in which case your new carrier won't be able to create a BIS account for you on their network. And, typically, only the owner of the account (at Orange) will be able to convince Orange to release the PIN from their BIS...
    Good luck!
