At wit's end with printing

I am begging for some help here. I have read everything I can find on printing within Aperture. The best guides appear to be published by Apple, and so I have followed those. I also have a couple of books that I use as well. I have a long history of successful printing on a pc so this is very frustrating for me.
I calibrate my monitor (iMac) with Gretag EyeOne Display2 hardware. I have used the recommended 2.2 gamma setting, the 6500K, and 120 luminance. I use a profile for my paper. Color management in my printer drive is off. On my pc, the profile was spot-on. I have yet to print a "spot-on" photo within Aperture.
I just tried a beautiful shot of two girls (both gorgeous green eyes on my monitor). The print is dark as heck and colors are totally off. I need to print these for a project that is due soon. I am at my wit's end.
Can someone help me? I am starting to get a bit desparate, as the paper and ink-wasting is costing me a ton of money. I will be forever grateful if someone can point me in a direction that will help. Not sure where else to go from here.

it's a long reply, but bare with me. i hope this is of some help for you.
the colors are still black/brown (when they should be blue, for instance).
the colors are still black/brown??? does the print look like it was almost flooded with ink that you can't quite make out what you've printed, or that where it's suppose to be blue it's black/brown in color?
when an image prints very dark, i can only assume that somewhere in the set-up color management is happening twice.
go to this link, http://files.support.epson.com/htmldocs/r220_/r220__rf/softx3.htm and then scroll down to Color Management section. note the screen capture for the Stylus Photo R220 print dialogue. i know you've already checked, but would you check again to make sure that your setting is not the same as in the screen capture. that is Off (No Color Adjustment) is the only option you want selected.
(one more thing that you could double check, and this is going to sound very absurd, because it's most probably not possible. would you check to see if the ink cartridges are where they are supposed to be, and that they're the right color? if you have printed with these same ink cartridges without any color problems on your pc, then it rules out misinstalled or mislabled ink cartridges.)
by the way, dale's suggestion is the right direction. you want to put aside (remove) custom profiles and other existing profiles and use only what the R220 driver installs by default.
meanwhile, for the purpose of meeting your deadline, i suggest that you make your prints with what have worked for you. after you've taken care of that, you can continue with your current Color Management issue.
one more thing. it's not your imagination, there is very little information about color management and printing in Aperture.

  • At wit's end with imovie project -- need Help!

    Aloha:
I am in the middle of doing a documentary movie of the yearly Air Show put on by my RC model airplane club. Over the past several years I have made a handful of other documentaries and all with out problem, they worked just fine.
On this one, however, I have run into problems that are new and completely frustrating. I have finished editing the movie and all works well in the iMovie mode. I can play the entire movie and all the parts and pieces work just fine. But when I burn the results onto a DVD some scenes (only a few) lose camera audio. This is also true if I export it to Quicktime.
My movie uses camera audio, imported background music and narrative voice-over. And all those play just fine in the iMovie program. But there are several spots where the camera audio doesn't come across in the final product, just total silence except for the background music or any voice-over narrations that may be present during those times. The camera audio just does not come through.
I am at wit’s end and need some help. Has anyone come across this and what did you do to fix it?
    Thanks

Hi: Thank you very much for the rapid come back, most appreciated.
    Hi Dan
A wild guess. Can it be so that those clips are
    recorded in Your Camera with
the sound set to 12-bit (often factory/default set).
    Should be 16-bit
I'll check the camera for that, but the same camera was used in all the clips and only two or three were missing audio when exported.
Try to extract the missing sounds from each clip and
    redo a disk image in
iDVD and see if the sound is back.
That sounds like a great diagnostic and should be far less time consuming than burning a DVD.
    Thanks for the hints.

  • At wit's end with Add-On disconnecting.  HELP!

I've now been struggling with this problem for the better part of a week trying different things, working with SAP support -- but to no avail.
Here's the deal:  I wrote a simple add-on using the UI-API.  It adds one button to Order Entry.  I run the add-on through VB.NET with SBO running and it works great.  I compile, create the add-on installer, create the .ard file and add the add-on in SBO.
The add-on installs just fine.  Now when I go to start the add-on in SBO (whether automatic or manual), the add-on will disconnect and send me the message "Add-on...is disconnected.  Restart, Ignore, Continue...".  I've narrowed down the disconnection to the line of code where the add-on is grabbing the Application: SBO_Application = SboGuiApi.GetApplication()
I've now gone as far as using the simple "Hello World" sample from the SDK and I don't change anything.  It still has the same problem.
I've upgraded to patch 32 (per SAP's instructions) and it still doesn't help.
    HELP!!  Any ideas??
I really appreciate it.  If someone helps solve this problem, I will buy you dinner.
    Thanks,
    Curtis

Are you getting the connection string from the UI API - you MUST NOT use the development string
    sConnectionString = "0030002C0030002C00530041005000420044005F00440061007400650076002C0050004C006F006D0056004900490056"
Here is a code snippet (VB .NET 2003) that will show you how to get the string from the UI API
    #If DEBUG Then
'1a. This is for Testing Purposes
                sConnectionString = "0030002C0030002C00530041005000420044005F00440061007400650076002C0050004C006F006D0056004900490056"
    #Else
'1b. This is for Add-On Purposes
                sConnectionString = Environment.GetCommandLineArgs.GetValue(1)
    #End If
(ensure the development string is not set up in the project properties and compile your .exe in release mode - recompile your installer with the new exe and then create a new .ard file and install)
if all else fails add message boxes to every line of your .exe startup cade and see where the app breaks - then you wil have an idea of how to fix it (you can also catch exceptions to check the system errors)
    Hope this helps..

  • At Wit's End with HP LaserJet M1522 Multifunction device

Hi, About a month ago I started to notice that my LaserJet M1522 would lose connection with my computer whenever I shut down for the night. I was able to remedy this by turning the device on and off. Just this weekend, I started to notice that the device is still losing connection when the computer when I shut down, and possibly during my worksession. Not only am I not able to print when the printer is "down," but the scan, copy and fax functionality are also disabled. The device is not throwing any errors that I can see. The status window on the device does go dark when it is not working - but the "Ready" light stays on.
I just downloaded the HP patch that is supposed to fix the connection problem between the device and computer, but it doesn't appear to work.
I had reloaded my operating system, reinstalled the HP software from the disk and installed all HP updates communicated from the Web.
    Any suggestions?

  • At my wit's end with Microsoft Exchange! Please Help!

    Here's the scenario:
Purchased a 3G iPhone on Sunday and I am trying to sync to my corporate outlook e-mail through Microsoft Exchange. If I don't get this working soon, I am returning it because I am running out of patience and I need my work e-mail.
Important Fact: I previously used a Palm Treo that also used ActiveSync. Two minute easy set-up and worked FLAWLESSLY. So the issue is NOT the server from what I understand.
I used the same exact settings for the iPhone and when I try to add the account, I get this message "Exchange account verification failed".
    I have tried:
adding /exchange after the server name.
adding /exchange/ after the server name.
    disabling SSL. enabling SSL.
adding the domain name in the optional domain field.
adding my user name as domain\username.
    I am being cap sensitive.
NOTHING has worked. I have reset, restored, etc, etc.
One interesting thing I noticed is that on my desktop, I can go to internet explorer and type in the server name https://xxxx.domain.com/exchange and I get outlook web access. When I try the same with Safari through the phone, I get "Safari can not connect because it can not establish a secure connection with the server".
Is this connected with my other issue?
Thank you for any ideas/ input.
    - Julie

The following steps should work if everything on your Exchange server is configured properly.
    All on your iPhone:
    Go to Settings
    Go to Mail, Contacts, Calendars
    Choose Add Account...
    Choose Exchange
    Enter Email address
Enter username NOTE: be sure to use domain.local\username or domain\username(be sure to use the back slash)
    Enter your password
    Press Next
Okay, your iPhone at this point is going to attempt to connect to the mail server, but it will fail twice - after each failure, select Accept. After the 2nd failure, you will be brought back to the set up page, but you should now see the field Server
Enter the name of your mail server (typically mail.domain.com) into the Server field and select Next
At this point, the iphone should connect to the server, and then you will be prompted for what you would like to sync up in Exchange. You have 3 options - Mail, Contacts, and Calendar.

  • At my wit's end with ATT UVerse and Time Capsule

I'm going to try this one last thread before I return all my UVerse stuff and go back to a simple Comcast modem.  I have a Time Capsule, model A1409, and just got ATT U-Verse, model 3801HGV.  I have searched the Apple community and any online website I can find that gives information about how to make the two work together and I have nothing but flashing amber.  Airport Utility keeps saying the ethernet is unplugged (which the cable is plugged in from the modem to the TC), no DNS servers, and no internet connection.  I have disabled the wireless function on the modem/router.  I have put the Time Capsule in Bridge mode.  I have rebooted everything.  I have reset the TC three times.  I have clicked on "DMZPlus mode".  I've even enabled detection of router-behind-router conditions.  I took the Time Capsule into Apple and it fired up right away, so no issues with the ethernet port.  I can connect my PC to the ATT router and get internet access.  No matter what I do, I still have flashing amber on my TC.  Any last words of advice before I return everything from ATT?

If you want to run a test.. and that is all it will be..
I think I said the best way is to get a cheap fast ethernet switch and put it in between the two devices.. not everything in the ethernet world works.. it seldom fails now but it does fail at time.
If you are not interested in buying or borrowing a switch.. then you can do something to help in the TC interface.
This might only be available if you use 5.6 utility.. at least I have never done it via v6.
You will need to put the TC back into router mode. So start with another factory reset.
step 1 (only required if both units use same IP range).
And if the uverse modem is running 10.x.x.x IP then to give this the best shot, change the TC over to 192.168.1.x ip range. You do this by changing the DHCP Beginning Address from 10.0 to 192.168 in the picture below. If your uverse uses 192.168.x.x already ignore this step.
    Step 2.
Check now that ethernet is still not working. If not go to the setup page for wan connection and change the WAN speed. Remember the TC must be plugged wan to uverse LAN port.
The only control offered is for WAN port to fix the speed. Change it down to 100Mbps/Full duplex.
    Update the TC.
No luck, swap down to 10Mbps/Half-duplex ie the slowest possible. update the TC and see if it connects.
If it fails then there is something seriously wrong. And I doubt it will ever work.
If it happens to work at 100mbps/full duplex.. that is fast enough to cause no problems.. 10mbps is not.
I would either give up using the one item or the other.. but you do not want to keep this mode.. this is double NAT and we did it to test only.. success means the ethernet is failing to communicate correctly and go back and buy the switch I suggested.. fast ethernet.. small 5 port and it should fix it.

  • At wit's end with Comcast email

I have posted this here and on other forums. I cannot send email with my Comcast email account using MacMail. I have spent an hour with Comcast support chat and they say it is an Apple problem. Folks on here tell me it is a Comcast problem. I have tried all of the setting recommended to me and nothing works. I thought it might be a problem with Mavericks, but it worked for the first four months I was using Mavericks - then stopped working. Recently updated to Yosemite and the problem is still there.
Comcast keeps saying that they cannot authenticate the outgoing mail server. I have tried changing port numbers as per some suggestions. I have deleted the account and started over. I have changed my password with Comcast. I keep getting David (the name of my Comcast account) as David (Offline). Nothing works.
    Thanks for any help.

  • Internal Mic not Working, external mic quits arbitrarily, I'm at wit's end!!!!

    Hey kids!
    The Computer: Toshiba Satellite A355D-S69221
The Program: 32 Bit Windows Vista
The issue: Internal Mic not recognized, external mic quits midway through conversation, Realtek Digital output not plugged in.
So being the smart guy I am, a few weeks back I decided to do the smart thing and delete all the speech recognition software off this thing. I don't need it, so wth.
Now, my internal mic quit. I reinstalled the software, rolled back drivers, deleted drivers to rebuild the driver stack, did a BIOS update, did the GTA ViceCity cheatcode start (unplug everything hold power key 30 seconds, reboot, f2 to enter bios, f9 to update, f10 to save), and nothing.
I did notice that when I had the Realtek Digital Output set as standard, my mic jack was illuminated by a red LED, and the Realtek HD manager wouldn't pop up when I plug something in.
The last irritating part is that I will talk to my wife via vo/ip, the external mic I am using will just quit mid conversation, and I have to reload a driver to get it to work again. I am at my wit's end with this thing, can anyone help? The last thing I am goign to do is another system restore from an earlier date than I used before. Does anyone have any other hints/clues/ideas?
    KFD

Thanks Jeff. No this isn't some kind of emergency so no one really minds my tinkering until it does get back up.
OK, I got it now. This is what my cyrus.conf looks like. It doesn't look like there's anything wrong with it...

  • HT4356 Am at my wit's end trying to print to epson workforce 845

I am at my wits's end trying to print my iPad 2 to an epson workforce 845. Have looked on Epson, Apple, been 3 hours on it, downloaded epson's print utility, but it nothing I do seems to work, trying also to set up with my MacBook Pro for wireless. It worked for awhile and quit. But my iPad has never worked. It works with ease on my HP at home, but not my Epson. get message: no AirPrint found. Geez alou, someone help me before I shoot myself (only joking about shooting myself)

What make and model router do you have?
Make sure they are on the same wifi network. If they are, you'll likely have success turning off the router, the printer, and the iOS device and powering them back on.

  • At my wits end with BT - can anyone help please?

This is a long and ongoing saga and so I apologise for the long post.
In February due to a change in job I needed to change the payment date of my DD payment. I did this online and received an email confirming the new payment date of the 28th. I stupidly assumed that was the date BT would take payment. The account is only used for Direct Debits and so money is put in there shortly before they're due. Over two weeks before the payment was due I received an unpaid DD letter from my bank. BT had attempted to take the payment early. I contacted BT and was assured my payment date was the 28th and they had no idea why payment had been attempted early. Later that day BT called to discuss the returned DD and I explained it was a BT error. A week later BT attempted to take the DD again. Once again I contacted them to be told my DD was definitely set up for the 28th and "there must be an error on the system" Later that day I received another call from BT to inform me my DD had been returned unpaid and again I explained that it was a BT error. Not trusting BT I cancelled the DD with the intention of making my payment online on the 28th. On 28th Feb before I had chance to make the payment I received a call from someone at BT who was mentioning late payment charges etc. I made it clear that any charges would be unacceptable as the error was down to BT and my payment wasn't actually late. I was asked to make payment over the phone but as it was difficult to understand each other I made it online and gave the payment reference number.
My online balance at this point showed as zero and so I decided against setting up another DD for BT to attempt to take money as and when they pleased. Late March I received a phone call from BT telling me my DD wasn't set up and I had an outstanding balance of £57.75. I explained I'd had a zero balance but it would appear that my online balance was showing incorrectly. The person I spoke to said he could set up a new DD for this amount but as a one off it would come out on the 13th - something to do with making sure payment was made before the new bill came out and it taking X amount of time for a DD to set up. This would be a one off payment and after it had been made I'd be contacted to set up a new DD.
On 20th April I received a call from UK based BT asking did I want to set up my new DD However to do this I would need to pay £120 over the phone. I asked why when I definitely had a zero balance, I'd received no bill and quite simply owed BT no money at that point. I was told there was a problem seeing all the data and somebody would call me back after the Easter weekend. Instead later that same day somebody else UK based phoned me asking me to set up my DD. I explained about the earlier phone call and she was confused as to why I'd been asked to pay anything as I clearly had a zero balance. I set up a new DD with her for £60 a month, payments to be made on 28th, starting 28th May. A few days after this my new bill arrived for £109.
On 5th May my bank called me to say once again BT had attempted to take the DD early but this time they'd attempted to take £109. Once again I called BT and this time spoke to an Indian gentleman who advised me to cancel the DD with my bank while I was on the phone with him, he'd cancel it at that end and then he would set up a new one. He said letters of confirmation would be sent out to me.
I sent an email to BT explaining all this and also saying I wasn't happy that they'd charged me £10 late payment charge on the new bill for unpaid DD. Had BT taken the payment when they should it wouldn't have been unpaid!! A gentleman phoned me back, assured me the £60 a month DD was set up for the 28th starting 28th May. He also emailed me confirmation of this.
On 9th May I received an email saying I had a "supplementary bill" so looked at my online account to see my bill had gone up by about £5. My DD wasn't showing as set up on the online account but I decided to leave it a couple of days before contacting BT. Later that day though I received three letters. One saying my DD had been cancelled as discussed, and two others saying my DD had been set up to be paid 28th of every month starting 28th May for the amount £104!
Before I had chance to call BT someone UK based called me to ask did I want to set up my DD as I had no payment plan set up. By this point I'd more than had enough and told her I had one email and two letters clearly saying my DD was set up and the only reason she'd be calling to ask me to do this would be if BT had cancelled the DD themselves. I refused to set up the DD yet again and she put me through to India based billing to discuss what was happening. I was told a DD wasn't set up on my account, that I couldn't set one up unless I paid my bill in full and that line restrictions are due to come into place on 29th May if the bill isn't paid in full.
Today my BT online account shows no DD set up. However my bank shows the new DD is in fact active. I have no idea when BT will take money, or for how much. I don't know what to do, do I cancel the DD and just pay all future bills in full when they come in and in doing so be penalised by BT for not paying by DD? Or do I just leave it and hope they finally get it right? Bearing in mind I've had two letters saying they're going to take £104 and an email saying £60 I can't see that happening.
It appears not one BT department speaks to the other, half the calls aren't logged and nobody at BT listens to the customer. I have spoken to Ofcom about this and they've advised me to give BT one more chance to sort this out and then go to the Ombudsman. I've just come across the forums and so am giving this a try to see if I can get any joy here.
At some point during all this I spoke to somebody UK based who told me to send my bank charge letters to BT which I have done but as yet have heard nothing in return! I've lost track of how many people I've spoken to and am at my wits end with it all.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I'm even more concerned now after hearing back regarding my initial post. Apparently any cancellations or changes are showing as done by me using the self help platform on my BT account. This isn't the case. The actions carried out on certain dates listed on the email I received were all carried out by BT over the phone and not myself. I didn't even know it was possible to cancel a direct debit using the BT website. I thought it had to be cancelled at the bank and then a phone call to BT. I was logged onto my BT account while the phone calls were taking place but any action was carried out by BT and not myself.
BT are insisting I have no DD set up. Yet it clearly shows on my bank account that there is an active DD for BT. To confirm that, I've spoken to my bank today who have verified there is most definitely a DD set up to pay BT on the bank account. They've double checked the account number with me and it's definitely for my BT account. The bank are sending me a letter confirming it's an active DD for me to include all other details for the Ombudsman because I really feel this needs fetching to their attention.
To be fair to the person who has replied I have been told I can pay a small amount and set the DD up rather than pay in full or face restrictions. But despite BT's insistence that I have no DD set up my bank clearly states I have. I'm now going to have to cancel the DD that BT are sure isn't active and set it up again.
Incidentally the monthly payments I'm to make are £45 - less than the £60 and a lot less than the £104 previously mentioned! So on one hand I will have a satisfactory conclusion but on the other I have to still cancel a "none existent" existing DD, set a new one up and am out of pocket on bank charges caused by BT trying to take payment on the wrong date. I then have to trust they'll not do the same thing again.......
It's all like a stupid joke that's just not funny.

Since upgrading to Mavericks, my Canon MP980 printer no longer works. I've tried deleting the printer and adding it again. I've downloaded the driver software from Canon. My Mac dropbox tells me "the selected printer software is available from Apple", but when I click to download it, the process ends with my mac saying the software is not currently available from the software update server.

Open Finder and click on Go > Go to Folder. Then type

Help with the error message that ADE is not allowed to copy a book onto my Nook. I have tried authorizing and unauthorizing many times--at wits end with this issue.

I too am having the same problem. I have a new hard drive that was imaged from the old one and I'm trying to side load a book to my Nook Simple Touch.. I first installed ADE 4 then borrowed and downloaded a book from Overdrive. I tried a few times to delete and reauthorize both the computer and the Nook and each time I get an authorization error when I try to side load the book. I then found on the Nook forum that the Simple Touch and ADE 4 don't get along. So I uninstalled ADE 4 and installed ADE 3.
I then followed this recommended procedure found on the forum: I deleted the Digital Editions folder from my Nook, launched ADE 3 and authorized the computer, then connected the Nook. For a few seconds, hovering the mouse over the setting icon for the Nook displayed everything on the context menu grayed out. But then it showed the context menu and I was able to display the Nook's authorization, which was the same as the computer's. Still get the same error side loading the book. Deleting and reauthorizing doesn't help.  And the Digital Editions folder is still missing from the Nook.

  • Script to print a file ending with specific characters

    Hi all
Can anyone help me with a script that will automatically print to a laser, any file within various sub folders on a NAS that end in '_IMP.pdf'???
    total newb to scripting!
    thanks

Folder actions don't handle subfolders well, and I forget whether they can cope with network drives.  I'm sure you could make it work, but since we already have the script as given here's how you modify it to do what you want. Save the following as a stay-open application (save it as an application, and check the "application stays open after run handler" checkbox), and leave it running in the background. it will label files with a color as they are processed, which will tell both you and it what files have been printed.
    property nameCue : "_IMP.pdf" -- file ending
property folderPath : "/Path/To/Folder" -- posix path to folder that holds pdfs
property intervalMinutes : 10 -- time in minutes between iterations
property labelColor : 3 -- integer between 1 and 7; 3 is yellow by default
    on idle
-- use an idle handler to run the recursive search and print periodically
              set filesToPrint to recursiveFolderSearch(folderPath)
tell application "<printer name>" -- set this to the correct printer name
                        activate
                        print filesToPrint
              end tell
              return 60 * intervalMinutes
    end idle
    on recursiveFolderSearch(folderPath)
-- a handler to do a recursive folder search
              tell application "System Events"
set folderItems to disk items of folder folderPath whose visible is true
                        set chosenFiles to {}
                        repeat with thisDiskItem in folderItems
if class of thisDiskItem is folder then
      -- folder: recurse
set chosenFiles to chosenFiles & my recursiveFolderSearch(POSIX path of thisDiskItem)
                                  else
-- file: check file name for correct ending and then check to see if it's labeled
if name of thisDiskItem ends with nameCue and my checkLabel(path of thisDiskItem) then
set end of chosenFiles to POSIX path of thisDiskItem
                                            end if
                                  end if
                        end repeat
              end tell
              return chosenFiles
    end recursiveFolderSearch
    on checkLabel(f)
check if the file is labeled, which means it has already been printed.
if it hasn't been printed, label it with the appropriate color and return true
to tell the calling handler the file should be printed
              tell application "Finder"
if (label index of file f) = 0 then
set label index of file f to labelColor
                                  return true
                        else
                                  return false
                        end if
              end tell
    end checkLabel

  • Unable to Communicate with Printer-OfficeJet Pro 8500 A910g

I have used this printer for two years.  I suddenly started getting the "unable to communicate with printer" message.  I have turned printer on and off, turned wireless on and off, turned computer on and off and uninstalled and reinstalled the printer.  It keeps happening.  The printer window shows that it is offline, but there is no option to make it online. I used the IP address the printer shows when I set it up.  I am at my wit's end.  Help!

  • Your computer appears to be correctly configured, but the device or resource (DNS server) is not responding [and I'm at my wit's end!]

I originally posted this question to the community section and was advised to post it here.  Please bear with me as this will be a long post.  I'm including the scenarios involving this reoccurring issue, the trouble shooting steps I've already
taken and the results of several diagnostic tools and logs.
I have a Sony VAIOS VPCEBB33FM lap top since 2011.  I have had this issue on an off for a long time.  I'm at my wit's end.  Any new insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Scenario Details
    1)  Some times it's on and off through out the day, sometimes it won't work all day, and once in a while it will work fine for the entire day.
    2)  I've had this issue across several wireless services, Clear Network accessed with WiMax, Library Wi-fi, Comcast cable internet using wireless router and Wi-fi, and Comcast Xfinity Wi-Fi, to name a few examples.
    3)  Other devices in the household or library will work with no problems such as my smart phone or my roommates' laptops or desktop computers.
    4) Once in a while,  the built-in wireless adapter is not found and I have to reinstall the driver.  Also the diagnostic tool has had to reset my adapter on an increasing basis.
    5)  I had my hard drive replaced in December 2014 and my system restored from the System Restore disks that came with it when I bought the laptop.  Even though I've been online on an infrequent basis it worked just fine for a while. Now that
I've been online a bit more I'm having the same issues again.
Below are my attempts at trouble shooting so far but I still have not been able to consistently resolve my DNS issues
     1) Restarting my adapter
     2) Turning off my laptop and removing the power supply for 5-10 minutes before turning it back on.
     3)  Using the IP Config in Command Prompt
         ipconfig /flushdns
         ipconfig /registerdns
         ipconfig /release
         ipconfig /renew
     4) Using the NetSh reset in Command Prompt and restarting my laptop
         netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt
         netsh winsock reset
         ipconfig /flushdns
         [restart laptop]
     5)  Configuring the TCP/IP in several settings
Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4), and then click Properties.
I have used the following settings:
           a) Obtain an DNS server address automatically
           b) OpenDNS
               208 67 222 222
               208 67 220 220
           c) Google DNS
               8 8 8 8
               8 8 4 4
     6) Updating the driver for my Intel Centrino(R) Advanced-N 6250 AGN and Intel Centrino(R) WIMAX 6250 from the Intel website previous having my laptop wiped clean in 2014.  It still did not resolve the issue.  My laptop
manufacturer as not come up with an driver update for my adapter since 2010.  I haven't tried to update the adapter driver from Intel's website since having my laptop repaired due to the fact that Intel strongly recommending using the manufacturer's updates
instead and frankly it didn't make much of a difference when I did it the first time.
     7) The last one I've tried as of today is going into Services and changing the start up type to automatic for the following:
Computer Browser [changed from manual to automatic]
DHCP Client [already set to automatic]
DNS Client [already set to automatic]
Network Connections [already set to automatic]
Network Location Awareness [changed from manual to automatic]
Remote Procedure Call (RPC) [already set to automatic]
           Server [already set to automatic]
TCP/IP Netbios helper [already set to automatic]
           Workstation [already set to automatic]
...and I'm still having DNS issues.
My only guessing are that my laptop came with a lemon adapter that needs to be replaced, some advanced setting(s) that I'm not aware off, or my firewall/anti-virus is interfering. I've used Symmantic Anti-virus and Firewall in the past and currently
Avast Anti-Virus with Microsoft Network Firewall.  I've had DNS issues with both anti-virus/firewall set ups.
Below are the results from the diagnostics and tests that I've ran.
