AT300 - Loosing Twitter/Facebook accounts after reboot
I have been using my AT300 for 1 week and are overall very pleased with the machine. The tablet has Android version 4.0.3.
But there is one piece that irritates me quite a lot.
The handling of accounts in the Setting->Accounts & sync does not show the applications I have installed on the tablet, eg. Twitter, Facebook, Skype, LinkedIn.
Sometimes after I add my credentials into the Twitter App, all the different account types will show up when I tap the "Add account" button.
There is more to it. If I put in my credentials in the Twitter App, it will work for a while, but after an hour or so, or if I reboot the tablet, the credentials will be lost in the app and in the "Setting->Accounts & sync" too.
I have two different Google accounts listed in the "Setting->Accounts & sync" which remains ok.
Are there any clues of how to solve this?
Possibly.
I tried to uninstall it, but it seems to be one of the pre-installed apps, so I could only get rid of the updates. That didn't help much.

From your Z10 Settings screen > Accounts.
Delete your Facebook account.
Reboot: On the side edge volume keys, press and hold down both of the Up and Down volume keys for about 20 seconds, ignoring the initial screenshot message... the screen will go black and reboot.
Now, go back to your Settings > Accounts and setup your Facebook account again.

Unable to remove login items (Revert after reboot) iOX10.5 iMac
I am having issues and permanent encounter in having my removed login items reappearing after reboot. I have very MANY of the same programs in 'open at Login accounts' eg: Messenger,Safari,Skype,Evernote,Dropbox, antivirus, but they are listed dozens of times. in this 'open at login' area.
Here's the steps I have taken:
1) Open Applications, Account Preferences, cluck my administrator acc, select program to delete, click on - and wait.
2) Remove some login items (with or without unlocking the lock, doesn't seem make a difference, tried both)
3) Login items are now fewer
4) Reboot
5) voila, the removed login items are still loaded and displayed in login item tab.
How does one solve this? Tried to google, but....Strange,but try these 2...

Will my accounts like twitter , facebook or other accounts be saved when backing up ? I want to save my accounts in my itunes or save it when backing up . Is that possible ? How ?
All settings are saved during backup.
I manually setup my mail accounts and don't sync them.
With each update of the firmware, all is wiped and put back on and my settings are always there.
I beleive the only thing that doesn't get backed up is your Camera Roll (photos you took with phone). Could be wrong though. Think they may of changed that somewhere along the line.
Settings of everything are saved (preferences, cookies, saved data from applications you installed, etc). All other content is on your computer (music, videos, apps, etc). -

After change of Facebook Account: Notification Central shows notifications from old FB Account
Hi there,
I changed the Facebook Account on my 10.8.3 iMac. When I post something through notification Central everything is right. But incomming notifications are from the previous account.
I removed all settings, shut my mac down and added everything new, but there are still the notifications from the previous account. Anyone an idea how I can fix this?
Thank you
AndreasIt's actually controlled in System Preferences - Mail/Contacts/Calendars. Locate the Facebook account there and remove it.

About 2 weeks ago my Yahoo email account and AIM email account had been compromised and the passwords changed. From what I was told/researched at the time, changing my passwords to more secure passwords was the best option.
I changed my passwords for the two accounts that had been compromised, and I even when as far to change my passwords for everything that I used frequently, and accounts that were tied to the email accounts, facebook, twitter, etc.
This morning at 12:28am (EST) my facebook was accessed by somebody other than me and my password changed. When I noticed this my first thought was to check to see if my email that I log in with was compromised. It had also underwent a password change.
Obviously the next thing I did was to try and change my passwords.
I had my AIM email send a change password form to my Yahoo email (which hasn't been tampered with this time) I followed the form and input a new password. After that, it brought me to a page where I was to enter the new password and sign in. When I input the new password it yet again said, "incorrect password or username". After I tried the new password a few more times it finally brought me to a screen saying basically that my account was locked due to suspicious activity and I still haven't been able to try and log in again.
I also can't access my Facebook account at all. I obviously can't send a new password to my email because I can't access it. Whenever I tried to send my info to an alternate email it wants me to answer a security question, and for some reason the answer I enter, which should be the correct answer, is said to be false.
Facebook offers another option of recovering your account by getting 3 friends to be sent security codes, I tried this method but it would never let me complete it because I locked my account. I locked my account after figuring out it was being tampered with. Whenever I try to get the security codes sent to 3 friends it ultimately leads me to a screen saying my account is locked and I need to sign in to unlock it, which is some major bull considering if I could log in I wouldn't need to be going through the process to begin with!
One friend has told me somebody maybe using some file to track my moves, a keytracker?
Is there anyway I can confirm that?
How can I get rid of it, how can I protect myself?
I've been using the internet almost daily since I was 8 years old, I'm now 20, this is the first of these kinds of problems I've ever had.
Protip: I run Mac OSX 10.6.8 Snow Leopard.Whatever is going on, it's extremely unlikely to be malware of any kind. See my Mac Malware Guide.
As to what is going on, it's hard to say, but if someone is targeting you specifically, it's not that hard for an experienced person to do. It may not even require actual hacking... see the story of Matt Honan's hacking:
http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2012/08/apple-amazon-mat-honan-hacking/
In short, his attacker managed to get access to Mr. Honan's Amazon account, which gave him access to the last 4 digits of Mr. Honan's credit card that was on file. That credit card was also on file with Apple, and those 4 digits were used to give him access to Mr. Honan's Apple ID. And from there all went to h***. No hacking required, just talking to folks on the phone and convincing them to do what the hacker wanted.
In addition, note that some kinds of accounts provide you with a way to give access to another person. For example, GMail provides a way to add someone else's account, giving them access to your e-mail. Hackers have been known to use such features to leave themselves hidden back doors, so they can keep getting in after you have changed the password. I don't know whether AIM or Yahoo have such features, but it's possible.
Finally, note that there are always possible issues with weaknesses in the servers. For example, right now, someone's selling an exploit kit for Yahoo mail. I don't know whether the vulnerability it relies on has been patched or not, but if it hasn't been, your attacker may be using that method to get access.
In any case, you need to address these issues with AIM, Yahoo and Facebook. -
How to share to Twitter, Facebook, Google, etc. from an iBook
I'm having a very hard time creating a page at the end of my book where readers can share a quick blurb and my web site on various social media like Twitter, Facebook, and Google+.
My first approach was trying the same version of the Tweet button, the Like button, and the +1 button that you would add to a web site. These *don't* work out of the box because an iBooks HTML widget will not load external JavaScript or anything in an iframe. Has this been everyone else's experience? Am I doing something wrong?
Then, I made a widget that submitted predefined text and URLs to Twitter, Facebook, and Google+ through query parameters (which most of the share buttons do themselves behind the scenes). However, the implementation works but with severe drawbacks. You can log in to Twitter and tweet something but then you can't share on Facebook or Google+ due to the way iBooks HTML widgets handle URLs. Instead of opening URLs in Mobile Safari, like a plain iBooks Author link somewhere in the book text, the widget opens it's own browser window without any UI, location bar, history, or anything. Worse yet, there doesn't seem to be any way to navigate back or reset the widget to the original URL (main.html in Dashcode terms). This means whatever page you end up at after sharing something to say, Twitter, is the page the widget will always open from now on. To refresh the widget and share via another social service, you have to force quit and reopen the iBooks app.
You can see my code and try it out here: https://github.com/avk/iBooks-Social-Widget
The most important files are main.html and js/script.js
The widget.openURL(...) method, which can open links in Safari from a Dashboard widget, doesn't seem to be supported in iBooks HTML widgets.
All this seems wrong and unnecessarily difficult. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated!Unless both ipads were set up with the same Apple ID, there really isn't.
This does depend on the app however. I don't read iBooks, but there are some e-reader apps like Kindle that may allow you to 'loan' the book to someone else. Or, using an e-reader app, the book can be 'checked out' of a library that supports downloaded books. You have an account, 'borrow' the file, use an e-reader app to read it, and have a certain time frame in which to finish reading. -

I tried opening my facebook account but nothing helped....I am able to open other websites....and my friends are able to view their facebook account on my laptop....but i dont know whenever i try opening my account, firefox crashes in betweenI have had a similar problem with my system. I just recently (within a week of this post) built a brand new desktop. I installed Windows 7 64-bit Home and had a clean install, no problems. Using IE downloaded an anti-virus program, and then, because it was the latest version, downloaded and installed Firefox 4.0. As I began to search the internet for other programs to install after about maybe 10-15 minutes my computer crashes. Blank screen (yet monitor was still receiving a signal from computer) and completely frozen (couldn't even change the caps and num lock on keyboard). I thought I perhaps forgot to reboot after an update so I did a manual reboot and it started up fine.
When ever I got on the internet (still using firefox) it would crash after anywhere between 5-15 minutes. Since I've had good experience with FF in the past I thought it must be either the drivers or a hardware problem. So in-between crashes I updated all the drivers. Still had the same problem. Took the computer to a friend who knows more about computers than I do, made sure all the drivers were updated, same problem. We thought that it might be a hardware problem (bad video card, chipset, overheating issues, etc.), but after my friend played around with my computer for a day he found that when he didn't start FF at all it worked fine, even after watching a movie, or going through a playlist on Youtube.
At the time of this posting I'm going to try to uninstall FF 4.0 and download and install FF 3.6.16 which is currently on my laptop and works like a dream. Hopefully that will do the trick, because I love using FF and would hate to have to switch to another browser. Hopefully Mozilla will work out the kinks with FF 4 so I can continue to use it.
I apologize for the lengthy post. Any feedback would be appreciated, but is not necessary. I will try and post back after I try FF 3.16.6. -
I recently updated to the latest version , but in the account settings in add new account there is only email account i can not add facebook twitter or any other accounts , just email, how can i solve this problem P.s. facebook is installed.

I know its been awhile since this post was answered but.... I have the same issue but a bit of a difference. Just downloaded Facebook to my BB 10. Just like the previous person, the Facebook account doesn`t show up under "accounts". So I opened the app and it tells me: "Session expired. Please re-log in to renew your session." After I click OK, a blank "Accounts" page opens up that says on the bottom: Loading accounts...... but even after 25 minutes nothing ever loads.
Any suggestions on how to deal with this?
Just had an idea but didn`t do anything.... deleted the Facebook app and downloaded it again, re-booted the phone by holding down the power button but still no different than before....
Have you tried to keep the power ON and then pull the battery, wait a few minutes and then re-insert the battery, it might just fix the problem

Vertical taskbar width does not hold the width after reboot
Hi.
I wonder if anyone could help me with this. I've been trying to google the answer for hours but no luck.
I use the desktop with taskbar on the left side not on the bottom. I'll explain why just to cut questions. Simply because it makes more sense to me to have it on side rather than bottom with 16/9 format of display. I also work with many windows open at the
same time and this way I can have 15 of them on the taskbar without grouping.
Problem.
I need the width of the taskbar to be wide enough at least for 3 icons of the quicklaunch section. Below this width there is not enough space for quick launch icons to fit in the area. I could increase the area but then it uses space for the open windows
tabs and also date/time are not displayed fully. 3 icons is what makes sense for vertical taskbar. Every time I change the width of the taskbar to 3 it goes back to 2 after reboot. No matter whether I lock it or not!
question.
Is there any way of setting the minimal height ( in my case width of the taskbar as it is positioned vertically on the side) in the registry? I mean can I enter somewhere " do not go below bloody 3 icons after reboot ! " in the registry :)
There must be default value somewhere there and this is why it keeps going back to it. If only I knew where is it I could increase it to suit me.
I know it might seem to be silly question but after resizing the taskbar 2 348 times over the past years eveytime I turn the computer on I have had enough.
I would be very gratefull if anybody could help me. Thanks in advance.Refer :

The dock crashes +/-5 minutes after reboot
As of yesterday, the dock simply crashes +/- 5 minutes after reboot.
I've been running SL successfully since the day it came out, without any problems.
I did upgrade an application, DockStar and feel that's the culprit here, although I have been running a demo version of it successfully.
If I go to system preferences and choose Dock it takes a while before the dock pane shows up and with default settings, and it also acts very slowly when changing settings. If I change the settings and then close the system preferences and then reopens it then my settings have disappeared.
And the bigger problem is that the Dock can not be seen (and it is not hidden at any of the monitor edges either).
How I can restore the dock?Kenichi Watanabe wrote:
Did you try moving the Mail preferences file to the Desktop (when Mail is NOT running), so that a new one gets created (by the Snow Leopard version of Mail.app)? That preference files is here
<user home folder>/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist
I just did it myself, and it did not change anything related to your accounts or what's in your Inbox, but the Mail windows size went to the default size and look. It did says say my "Outbox" has been renamed "Delivered," which is odd because it did not do that before when using Mail in Snow Leopard. If you drag the preference file to the Desktop instead of trashing it, you can put it back if something important is changed in Mail that you want back.
I just tried moving the Mail preferences file to the Desktop (I also got that odd Outbox/Delivered message), and the Dock indeed doesn't crash now.
BUT, I did loose all my accounts, so I had to drag the original preference file back.
Some extra info: The clean generated com.apple.mail.plist is only 8KB, while mine is 45KB.
Another fact: I only started using Mail for the first time after the Snow Leopard upgrade (because I'm an Exchange user), it's not that this has been an upgraded Mail with old accounts or settings in it. -
Resistry Keeps Reverting After Reboot
Hi,
I am trying to change a few settings to replicate how another xp machine is, however most settings in the needed hive keep reverting back to their value when I reboot and if I delete the value, it reappears after reboot also.
The hive is \\my computer\HKLM/software\microsoft\windows nt\currentversion\winlogon
I get a file called test.sdb on the desktop if I change some gpedit settings but I'm not sure which ones specifically. if this is unrelated to the issue please ignore it.
How do I find the cause of this or stop regedit from reverting these reg keys? This can be due to group policies, SCCM scripts, startup scripts, or any schedules task. Please verify if anyone of these is causing trouble.

Lion takes 15 seconds to log in after reboot on Macbook Pro 13" (early 2011)
I have been having sluggish performance (repeated beachballs, etc.) on my Macbook Pro 13-inch (2.7 GHz Intel Core i7, 4 GB RAM), which I bought this summer pre-installed with Lion.
I didn't migrate my old system, I just installed everything on my new machine. After about 9 years of OS X upgrades on various machines, I decided to start fresh and just installed my applications and transferred the data manually. It took some time, but I wanted it lean and clean.
Within weeks though, things were starting to slow down. This morning, it took over 15 seconds after reboot before I could even log in to my user account (I clicked on the icon for my account, and after 4-5 seconds it beachballed for 10 seconds before the field for the password "slid" into place).
I've tried checking and unchecking having Lion restore my previous session before rebooting; closing all applications before restarting; not closing applications before restarting. But consistently, right after logging in for several minutes, and then after several hours of use (and/or the next day, if I put my laptop to sleep instead of shutting it down) opening, saving documents, viewing mailboxes after opening Mail, or even viewing folder contents in the Finder can take from several to 30+ seconds.
Here is the log from my most recent boot. I have Dropbox, LogMeIn, Default Folder, and Growl (the pre-App Store version), and I have Parallels (which I very rarely use), but I don't see why any of these would slow down my machine before I even log in. Besides this, I have pretty standard fair applications. I would very much appreciate any help/advice!

06/12/11 03:05:15,347 Microsoft Outlook: CFURLCreateWithBytes wAfter biting the bullet and ordering more RAM, my computer now is working a ton better. So that must have been the main issue. With 8 GB RAM, I can now even run Parallels fluidly (better than my work PC!) where before simple things like logging in to my MBP after reboot could take forever.
The place I went to had several other people getting RAM upgrades at the same time as me, so between this and other comments I've seen in discussions here and elsewhere on the Internets, I take it to mean that either Apple should bump up the base RAM on its new machines, and/or stop charging so much for additional RAM.
I refused to believe a Pro machine bought with Lion installed would come with too little RAM for light to medium usage, but it was apparently the case. I'll mark this as a correct answer and hope some other poor soul will come across this thread and be helped by it.
