Atempt to start OMS for Grid Control 11g fails with - Unexpected error occu

Hello,
I am running Grid Control 11g.
Repository DB is 11.2.0.1
Both the Grid Control and DB server are running in same machine - redhat 5.
When trying to start the oms, this fails with the below error:

In emgc.properties, I have MSPORT=7202.
I have used the notes in Metalink 1287904.1, but without resolution.
I am able to connect with sqlplus, with user sysman, without issues. There are no invalid objects under sysman.
emoms.trc shows the following:

Creating physical standby db through grid control 11g fails with "default listener is not running"

On step 4/6, i am getting error like below
ErrorExamine and correct the following error(s), then re-try the operation.Default Listener in Grid Infrastructure - The default listener in the grid infrastucture is not running.
I have the listener running on grid user and grid home, 11.2 in both primary and standby.
During these steps till 4, its no where asked for grid user password.
Not sure how it will detect the grid home listener.
Listener is running with default port 1521 on both the servers primary and standby
On the step 4 screen the other option for default listener is non-default listener and its pointing to db home and not grid home.
So i guess oracle is looking for the listener to be up on the db home and not on grid home causing the issues,
if so how to fix this ?
I am using role separation, separate user for grid and oracle homes grid and oracle user and all are on 11.2.0.1 db + grid

After downloading and creating the MSI for Lightroom, the install fails with no errors reported. Checking compatability, windows comes back with not compatible on both win 7 and 8.1.

Installer MSI fails with no error or message of any kind. Tested compatability with the windows compatability check and it comes back as not compatible. What now?

It is a known problem on Windows 98, Windows and Windows 2000 if you are using Intel Pentium 4 processor with Sun JRE and Symantec JIT. I had the same problem with Windows 98. Oracle has a patch. Please see Note:131299.1 on metalink for details.

One of my Customer is referring the below command to secure OMS and it fails.

The brief background of the wallet creation is as below.
The actual certificate and CSR is created using openssl with a config file openssl-oemgc.cnf. This is according to customer organization's policy and how the production signed certificates have to be requested. The CN is indeed <SLB hostname>. The used syntax was:
openssl req -new -keyout <SLB hostname>.key -out <SLB hostname>.csr -config openssl-oemgc.cnf
The config file content can be referred in the service request.
Following the guide on
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E21764_01/web.1111/e13749/utils.htm#ADMRF151
the certificates were imported into a java keystore 'identity.jks'. And the certificate chain was imported in a java keystore 'trust.jks'.
With these customer has followed note 1278609.1 to configure these keystores in WLS. The certificates show up fine without errors in the browser when opening the WLS console.
Then according to notes 1116717.1 customer has created an Oracle wallet. Then he copied that wallet to an old 10g oracle application server and opened the wallet with 'owm' and saved it. Then he has copied the wallet to the new Oem Grid Control and opened it with'owm' (this now succeeds) and saved it with SSO. This is the wallet that customer is using while trying to secure the OMS.

Uninstall SE PC Suite 6 from control pannel fails with an Error -5005 : 0x80070002

Hi,
I get the following error message when tried to Uninstall PC Suite from Add/rem programs.
Came across a similar issue on http://talk.sonyericsson.com/thread/16087 and tried to delete the SEPC setup file, but didnt help.
Is there an uninstaller for SEPC which will force uninstall the program ?

Sorry I couldnt respond to you imm... as i had trouble login into this webpage.
Btw I did try your advice i.e. uninstall the application from Safe mode enabling SafeMSI but it didnt help and I was getting the same error.
Did some research and also tried a 3rd party uninstaller called REVO but it was of no help, finally I layed my hands on Windows Installer Cleanup utility (MSICUU2.exe) although I am not sure if it did uninstall the SEPC completely as i still see the program under Add/Rem progs, however upon trying to run it from All Programs it prompts Browse or locate the file so i am assuming that it wiped out the installed files from the default location.
I am planning to format my C drive soon as I have issues with some other app's too.
Kinda feel sad that none of the Sony Ericsson experts who are paid to ans such quieries have turned a blind eye.

MOS Credentials setup in Grid Control 11g Error

Hi All
I have a 11g Grid Control Environment setup on a W2K8 R1 32 bit with a 11g db. Everything works ok apart from the patching setup.
When I setup the proxy settings and test the patch url it works, but says need to setup MOS
When I do this i get network error cannot connect to oracle support.
In the emoms file it says this
oem 11g cannot establish proxy connection: 407 proxy authentication required
I have managed to set the server to bypass any proxy server and can connect out to the internet and firewall logs to prove this, but if i choose no proxy i get the error of no proxy server setup. But should i need to if its bypassed anway
Also is there a file where i can put my credentials manually on the server, maybe some config/xml file? It must be stored somewhere.

The Firewall should allow connections to:
*.loginadc.oracle.com
support.oracle.com
login.oracle.com
updates.oracle.com
Actually it is best to allow all connections from the OMS-server to the outside world, because I have seen GC using URL's I have never even heard of. But if your company will allow this?
In case of problems you could ask the Firewall manager to check the Firewall logging on traphic coming from the OMS-server that is not allowed to go through the firewall.
Note: Understanding Proxy Settings in Enterprise Manager Grid Control [ID 471842.1] is also good reading.

Grid control 11g falling over on oms on OMS Configuration step

I've attempted to install grid control 11g on Solaris 10 (SPARC 64 bit), everything is fine until the installer gets to the OMS Configuration step, this bombs out with:-

The JVM being used is the 32 bit one that comes with WebLogic server 10.3.2 for Solaris 32 bit, as there is no 64 bit version available. Can someone please advise as to how I get around this ?, do I need to download and install a 64 bit JVM after web logic has been installed ?, does this need to be a 64 bit JRockit JVM ?

The 64 bit run time comes in SUNWj6rtx which is not present, this can be obtained with version 1.6_21 of the JDK, however by doing this, the installation is no longer that of a pure 1.6_18 JDK.

Grid Control 11g - OMS configuration issue

I am installing Grid Control 11g on Linux 5. on the configuration step - OMS configuration failed. The log shows:
INE: NMProcess: weblogic.nodemanager.common.ConfigException: The domain 'GCDomain' at '/opt/Oracle/Middleware/oms11g/user_projects/do
mains/GCDomain' was not registered in the nodemanager.domains file and dynamic domain registration is not supported. Please register the d
omain in the nodemanager.domains file.
But I looked at the file: nodemanager.domains, there is an entry:

So how to register GCDOMAIN?

Hi Ski,
Well the cause of this issue may vary depending on the WLS, EM GC and Oracle Critical Patch Update (CPU) that you have.
But in general terms, you could try the following:
1. Stop WLS
2. copy nodemanager.domains from Middleware/wlserver_10.3/common/nodemanager to Middleware/wlserver_10.3/common/emnodemanager
3. Start WLS (gc_inst/user_projects/domains/GCDomain/bin/startWebLogic.sh)
4. Start nodemanager (Middleware/wlserver_10.3/server/bin/startNodeManager.sh)
5. connect('<username>','<password>',t3://<ip address>:port')
connect('weblogic','weblogic','t3://localhost:7001')
6. nmEnroll([domainDir], [nmHome])
nmEnroll('/u01/app/oracle/product/Grid11g/gc_inst/user_projects/domains/GCDomain','/u01/app/oracle/product/Grid11g/Middleware/wlserver_10.3/common/nodemanager')
7. start OMS (Middleware/oms11g/bin> emctl start oms)
Make sure to backup the mentioned directories accordingly before proceding with the steps mentioned above.

Error while installation Grid Control 11g

Hi all expert,
I want to install OEM Grid Control 11g for studying purpose depending on link [http://oracle-base.com/articles/11g/GridControl11gR1InstallationOnOEL5.php|http://oracle-base.com/articles/11g/GridControl11gR1InstallationOnOEL5.php] . But I can not apply "WDJ7" patch because I don't have Metalink account. So I go to the next step to install Grid Control 11g. Everything is successful until Configuration assistant "Repository Configuration" operation. A possible bug for Grid control?

We installed Grid control 10.2.0.1 on Redhat Linux R3 with existing database(10.2.0.4).
During the installation, we succeeded for repository creating but failed at OMS Configuration.
When I start oms in cmd line, I got the following error: the repository database can not be connected.
The description for the environment:
1. OMS server and repository database are installed on the same server, on which HA is used.
2. There are two floating IP on this machine,

xx.xx.xx.80 | oem.db.paci.com.cn | repository database |
3.When we installed the oms with OUI, the repository server we input is oem.db.paci.com.cn
The problem we found:
During the installation, the repository was created successfully. But it failed at OMS configuration.
The error we got: the repository database can not be connected.
there are two lines in emoms.properities which seems strange:
oracle.sysman.eml.mntr.emdRepServer=oem.db.paic.com.cn
oracle.sysman.eml.mntr.emdRepConnectDescriptor=(DESCRIPTION\=(ADDRESS_LIST\=(ADDRESS\=(PROTOCOL\=TCP)(HOST\=cnsz030318.db.paic.com.cn)(PORT\=1535)))(CONNECT_DATA\=(SID\=oem10g)))
The emdRepServer is what we have input on OUI:oem.db.paic.com.cn. But for the connectDescriptor, it is changed to "cnsz030318.db.paic.com.cn", which does not exist at all!.
Now, we have worked around this problem by adding "cnsz030318.db.paic.com.cn" in the /etc/hosts.
But my question is, why the connectDescriptor set the HOST\ as cnsz030318.db.paic.com.cn? Why does it not use the name we input in OUI (oem.db.paic.com.cn)?
Maybe it is a bug for Grid control?

Did you install with "Use existing database" or "Use new database"?
I recommend that you use fully qualified domain names only!

Where are configure files for Grid Control components?

I installed Grid Control 11g on Redhat 5.2, the repository database is Oracle 11.2.0.2 on the same box. It worked after installation, but after some weeks, I restart oms and got error [oracle@cchbi bin]$ ./emctl start oms

Hope your exterts can point me to the configure file where I can verify the connetion to repository. Alos some one would share with me the knowledge on the following topics
1) What are the processes/components of Grid Control ? I am aware of oms, opmn, and a process run as /u01/app/midware/oms11g/ccr/bin/nmz -cron –silent. ANy others? What are their functions?
2) Location of configure files, log files and binary executables of this processes/components.

to check if the OMS is running properly execute the command "emctl status oms" ($OMS_HOME/bin).
The result should be "Oracle Management Server is up".
To check which components are currently running execute the command "opmnctl status" ($OMS_HOME/opmn/bin).
The result should be something like:

Executing this command will answer your question whioch components need/should be up when using OEM/GC.
You will find some logfiles of the OMS under $OMS_HOME/sysman/log (e.g. emoms.trc, emoms.log). Please check logfile OC4J~OC4J_EM~default_island~1 under $OMS_HOME/opmn/logs as well...
To start the OMS you might try the command "opmnctl startall"...

Monitoring Coherence from Grid Control 11g

Hi folks!
I have setup Grid Control 11g and I have a couple of hosts where I have installed Coherence.
After installing the agent I just can see the host being monitored. I tried to add the target manually. It asks me for a JMX remote port. The default seems to be port 3000. However this is not active on the Coherence machine.
I started the Coherence Cache Server (cache-server.sh) with the options to switch on the remote management but I still see nothing and have a Metric Collection Error.
Any ideas?

Error installing Grid Control 11g

Hi. I'm trying to install Grid Control 11g without success.
I'm using SuSe Enterprise 10 sp3, already installed weblogic 10.3.2 and created a database instance for repository without problems.
The installation process fails when reaches the 'OMS configuration' step. Here's the last part of the omsca log file (log says to check the 'omsca_20110209122055.log' file for more info, but it points to itself):
