ATG 10.1.2 display URL like image in BCC new tab

Hi all,
I am doing a new item-descriptor that store images and I like to display it in BCC new tab (but not flex content, just JSP). I don't descend media item descriptor.
I used the URL property, like this:
          <property name="url" data-type="string" property-type="atg.distributor.DistributorPropertyDescriptor" display-name-resource="upload.url"
                      category-resource="categoryUpload" >
            <attribute name="uiwritable" value="false"/>
               <attribute name="poolPath" value="/atg/commerce/catalog/ContentDistributorPool" />
               <attribute name="propertySortPriority" value="8"/>
          </property>It display my image URL, but like a string. I would like to display it like image.
I read Oracle documentation and saw that viewImage.jsp exists to show it.
But I don't know how to use it, how to do this binding betweew the URL image and the JSP to display like a image.
I thought that ATG would display like image automatically, like in media-internal items that use the same URL property that I am using.
Any help?
Thanks a lot

Hi Grando,
As Far as I know atg will display as image if your property is item-type="media" if not you just will se a plaing string due that is the type, perhaps you need to create an Property Descriptor custom to return a media Item by a given url.
You can go to http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E26180_01/Platform.94/RepositoryGuide/html/s0715implementingauserdefinedproperty01.html in order to see how to create your own property Descriptor.

    Firefox upon opening an image in a new tab, centers the image from top and bottom and surrounds the image with a grey frame. Just started having the problem today, searched Google to no avail.

    Oh wow, looks like a new feature.
    The "page" links in a stylesheet with the address "resource://gre/res/TopLevelImageDocument.css". If you remove that reference, then the image displays in the old style.
    '''''Edit: Please skip the rest of this post and check out the next one.'''''
    There might be a more elegant solution than that, but you could use a bookmarklet to strip out that link when you want to view the page in its old style. A bookmarklet is a snippet of JavaScript you save on the Bookmarks toolbar for quick access.
    First, copy the following code to the clipboard (it's all one long line):
    <br>javascript:var ssheet=document.querySelector('link[href="resource://gre/res/TopLevelImageDocument.css"]'); if(ssheet)ssheet.parentNode.removeChild(ssheet); void 0;
    Next, if you are not displaying the Bookmarks Toolbar, use View > Toolbars > Bookmarks Toolbar to display it. (If you aren't using the classic Menu bar, press Alt+v to call up the old View menu. Right-clicking the gray area just below the page address also allows you to display the Bookmarks Toolbar.)
    Right-click on the Bookmarks Toolbar (or Mac equivalent of right-click!) and choose New Bookmark.
    Paste the code into the Location box (the second box).
    Then type a useful name in the Name box (e.g., Oldstyle Picture) and click Add.
    Now, when you want to tweak the image display, click the button to run the script.
    Manual clicking is a hassle, so it might make sense to look into other solutions. (Greasemonkey didn't seem to work; I think it might not run on .jpg files.)

  • How to manually change the thumbnail images of the new tab page (without using addons)?

    I wanted to customize the images displayed on the thumbnails on the New Tab Page. I tried using the addon "New Tab Tools" to do so and it worked, for a while. Now a bug seems to have affected it (it is not displaying any thumbnails, so I uninstalled it). So I want to try another approach. I want to MANUALLY change the images for each of the thumbnail on the new tab page (of course, the thumbnails are 'pinned').
    (I read some other articles related to thumbnails, specifically about DELETING them, and it asked me to open the Firefox Profile Folder, and in there, delete the thumbnails folder. I thought I could simply change the images stored in it instead of deleting them, but there is NO thumbnails folder in the Firefox profile folder (I accessed the profile folder thru the troubleshooting information section in the help menu). So where is this thumbnails folder after all?)
    So, how can I do it?
    Thanks in advance.

    I note you are using Icedragon 26. Not sure I have come across that before.
    I guess they provide their own support, as they are apparently offering something based on an outdated and unsupported Firefox26. I see their forum has threads on Icedragon if you search for them, but at a quick glance I see no specific topic

    You could always install an official and up to date Firefox 29
    * See [[How to download and install Firefox on Windows]]
    * Download from http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/
    You may note the New Tabs page may be subject to a few changes over coming versions of Firefox it is apparently being improved. Firefox itself as Fx29 is also slightly changed from Fx26

  • Link to URL - How to Open a New Tab

    I have created some PDF's in Adobe Acrobat and I am hosting them on my website. So for example here is one: <possible spam link removed - kglad>
    I have created links to URL's using the Link Properties tool, Actions tab. However it will only open the URL in the same tab.
    Is it possible to have the URL's open in a new tab?
    Hope someone can help.
    Heath

    You need to use the target="_blank" attribute to make links open in a new window or tab. Where the link actually opens is up to the browser settings. So if you have Tools > Internet Options > Tabbed Browsing Settings > "Always open pop-ups in new tabs" selected, a target="_blank" link will open in a new tab. Note that this type of link will open in a new window by default on most browsers.

  • Flash image leak to new tab in FF

    Hello,
    I use Mandriva Linux 2011 x64 with Firefox 15.0 and latest 64bit flash plugin of version 11.2.202.238. Since flash plugin 11.2.202.233 I have problem with some web sites e.g. "www.shmu.sk" or "www.bsm.sk -> Forum medicum", that if I go to that web page it is displayed correctly but if I press CTRL+T, means to open new empty tab in FF I see one of the flash images from first tab. The same with Opera. Also if I navigate to some web page on this 2nd tab I still see flash from first one on the background. Last version of flash plugin without this bug for me was flash-plugin-11.1.102.63-release.x86_64.rpm. Does anybody observed this problem? Any solution?
    Thanks.

    OverrideGPUValidation=1 didn't help. I use latest nvidia graphics card driver 304.43. I found web site http://lists.x.org/archives/xorg-announce/2012-September/002066.html where is written that there is some problem between Adobe and Nvidia regarding flash leak to other widndows and in fact I realized that flash is not leaked only to new tab of FF but also to other white windows. With flash plugin 11.1.102.63 there is no problem also with latest nvidia driver 304.43. So is it possible somehow to change setting in some cfg file which causes flash plugin 11.2.202.238 to behave like 11.1.102.63 regarding this image leaks?

  • Why are images opened in new tabs expanding past 100%

    When opening an image of any type in a new tab, it will scale down as normal, but when clicked to "fullsize," it zooms in past 100%, approximately the equivalent of two adjustments of the scroll wheel in.
    Example: I have a 1920 x 1080 display, and if I expand a 1920x1200 image, the width far exceeds the horizontal boundaries (which should be identical, allowing no horizontal scrolling. To better describe this, here's an example: http://i.imgur.com/UfbqFnD.gif
    Note the brackets highlighting the extra scrolling space on the bottom image.
    I have a high dpi display (1920x1080, 15.6 in screen,) have tried setting Firefox to Disable Display Scaling on High DPI Settings, but to no avail.

  • Drag image to a new tab

    In Photoshop CS4, when you drag an image to open it, the program opened in a new tab automatically. Since version CS5, in doing so, the software simply inserts the image on the tab that is already open. There configuring Photoshop CS6 equal to CS4 (when dragging an image, open it in a new tab)?

    Great news!

  • Some links like youtube open in new tab but never have before, how do I fix this?

    All of a sudden, when I go to youtube or really anything. It opens it in a new tab when it never did before. It would only open in new tab when I told it to or when I clicked on a url. I really don't know a lot about this so if somebody could help me that would be great.

  • I want to have my home page displayed when i open up a new tab in multi opend tabs

    if i am opening up extra tabs i would like the display to be my home page every time.

    Middle clicking made my multi-homepages show up twice (in my case i have 5, so I had 10 extra tabs pop up)
    I delayed switching to the new Fire Fox for a long time, and I had a theme which is not compatible to this version. But in the other version there was a drop down for the homepages and you could choose which one you'd like to load for that instance. I have my iGoogle homepage which houses quite a lot, but some times I need to view GMail on it's own, and I usually just click on it from there. I want to go back to iGoogle when I'm done with GMail. [Using the back button doesn't help because I beat the memory for going back that far after messing with my mail].
    Basically all I want to do it choose which homepage I want to load at a time, not all 5.

    The thumbnails on the about:newtab page are generated from the cache, so if the page is not in the cache or otherwise can't or won't (secure pages) be rendered as a PNG image then you will get an empty box.

    If there is no history then you get an about:newtab page with empty boxes (no URLs).
