ATG OBIEE 11.1.1.6.0 Integration

I am new in ATG and tried to integrate with OBIEE 11.1.1.6.0 to get the out of box OBIEE reports.
Can anyone confirm how the logs generated by ATG will be moved to the ATG loader queue.
I am not able to configure it.
I am not sure if the ATG Loader will do the same as all documents say that the role of loader is to pick up the logs from loader queue and place in the
DataWarehouse database,buts who puts the logs in the loader queue and how to configure it.

Thank for the reply Denis, however the requirement is for an ERP 6.0 to a CRM 3.1, i think that´s integration is not usual, but i hope to find some information.

The loader queue is actually one of the repository-item defined in the DataWarehouseLoaderRepository managed on the data loader server instance. The log file data is populated into this queue through JMS message processing.
How to configure the JMS message processing.

In your previous post, I mentioned some details that I knew. I don't think that you would need to do anything additional to configure the JMS as the required message source for firing the message on log file rotation event and corresponding sink components are already provided.

Check if your log file writing components are enabled properly and their other properties are configured as per your environement setup.

You may also try enabling loggingDebug in the involved components to check if the message is actually getting fired on the log file rotation event and see if you get any further details in server logs related to the issue.

Re: OBIEE 10.1.3.4.1 integration with Hyperion shared services 11.1.1.3

I am working on OBIEE authentication using hyperion shared services. To achieve this I did the following steps,
1) Registered the shared services in Answers using 'Manage EPM workspace'
2)Modified config.xml to enable HSSauthenticator
3)Modified instanceconfig.xml by adding external auth tags
4)In rpd created a init block using custom authenticator.
When I login into Answers using a username and password from hyperion shared services, it is saying invalid username/password.
Log file says ' xxxxxx authentication failed in repository star, Odbc driver returned an error (SQLDriverConnectW)'
Can some one explain me if I am missing anything here?? Is there anyone who has successfully implemented this before.

I am fairly certain that this integration actually works in the other direction.
That is from the Oracle Hyperion Workspace portal you need to log in and once you are in Workspace from the file menu an option for "Oracle Interactive Dashboards" should be available if all is configured correctly with the integration. That link will open up OBIEE and take the user directly into the dashboards without having to get prompted by the OBIEE login screen.
If you have the BIC2Go image (Dan Vlamis' team, vlamis.com) for Oracle BI 10g you can see this integration's configuration and see it working correctly.

Hi,
I have Oracle EBS Vision Instance v R12.1 installed on Redhat 5 and wanted to install OBIEE latest version. Can some please point to system architecture diagram as i am conflicted with installation. I do not have complete idea but writing here what i actually know.

OBIEE V 11.X on Linux
Now install prepackeged analystical function on windows machine and using BI tool deploy/use them with Oracle EBS.
Please point me to a note which describes the components and what does it take to make up and running in conjuction with Oracle.

OBIEE 11.1.1.5 SSO integration with OAM 11gR1 (11.1.1.5)

I am integrating OBIEE 11.1.1.5 with OAM 11gR1 (11.1.1.5).
I have configured as per section 12.3 of following link:

After making all these configurtions, when i access:
http://<OHS server>:<OHS port>/analytics
User is getting prompted for auth from OAM. After successful auth, request gets redirected to WebLogic server hosting the OBIEE app. I have verified in OBI logs that the header value OAM_REMOTE_USER gets passed to OBI.
But even with all this, after successful OAM authentication, user is getting prompted with OBI login page.

I have already make the following configurations as per the documentation:
To enable SSO:
1.Log in to OBIEE at
http://[OBIEE server:port]/em.
2.Click Farm_<OBIEEDomain>_domain > Business Intelligence > Coreapplication.
3.Click the Security tab.
4.Select Enable SSO.
5.Select SSO Provider: Oracle Access Manager.
6.Click Apply and Activate Changes.
Do we need to make some other configurations also at OBIEE EM ?

OBIEE Security - How to setup SSO-integrated EBS users & mobile access?

I'm looking for the best approach to solution my company's OBIEE Security requirements, they are:
1) Create a standard authentication/security process at an enterprise level
2) Maintain EBS Roles to provide object-level and data-level security in OBIEE
3) EBS Users must go through the EBS portal to get to OBIEE (ie. single signon integration)
4) non-EBS users must go through the OBIEE portal
5) Both EBS and non-EBS users need ability to use the OBIEE iPad mobile application
So for the EBS users, I've implemented the SSO integration between OBIEE 11.1.1.5.0 and EBS R11 based on the Oracle white paper [ID 1343143.1]. I've also set up an Authorization session init block to read the user's EBS Roles and set up object/data level security.
For the non-EBS users, I've kept the default identity store (WLS-LDAP) and authentication provider.
My question is what's the best approach for providing mobile access to the EBS users? Obviously I can't pass an HTML cookie to the iPad for these guys. Assuming these EBS users are in an corporate-LDAP store, I was thinking to setup a dual authentication store that connects to both corporate-ldap(EBS) and the WLS-integrated LDAP(non-EBS).
Will this work? Does anyone have a better approach they'd like to share?

We have a customer, who has upgraded to EBS R12 recently. With EBS R12 there comes a responsibility that enables users to directly open embedded BI in EBS. When people do LDAP authentication to EBS, they can directly open the OBIEE inside the EBS. But, when the EBS is SSO (OAM+WNA) integrated, OBIEE SSO in EBS does not work. What is the error?
It could be related that OAM generated cookies are not recognized by embedded OBIEE.
Is there a way to do a setup with both OAM SSO enabled to EBS, and EBS-OBIEE SSO is enabled inside EBS ? I do not think there is a single document that covers all the above (I believe you are aware of the individual docs).

Integration of OBIEE Dash Boards with BPM Process

Could you please help me in integrating OBIEE Dash Boards with BPM . I thought of using 2 ways :
1) Integrating OBIEE with ADF First and then Integrating ADF with BPM . Its a long process but any other way if any one can help me .
2) Integrating OBIEE with BPM directly by generating webservices . but i couldnt get any options to generate the webservices for OBIEE .
Can anyone please guide me on this .

User authentication when OBIEE is integrated with EBS

Hello guys
I have a conceptual question about how OBIEE authentication is performed in an integrated environment with EBS? If the goal is to have users access to OBIEE based on their roles given in EBS, what kind of authentication is it needed for such implementation?
Do I import users and group from EBS database or LDAP server (if its available)? what kind of session variable and ini block is created if I want to do data level secuirty based on user groups?
Please give some basic idea and guidelines on topic

1.manual
2.ldap
3.from external database

ATG & Webcenter Sites integration?

Is there going to be a convergence of ATG WebCommerce and WebCenter Sites down the road?

It seems that Oracle's focus has moved a bit from Oracle ATG only to Oracle Commerce. As such the forward looking information (of course accompanied with a good safe harbour statement) is now in general the combination of ATG and Endeca.
Elements of further integration are much lickely to include:
- structured and unstructured (web content) data integration from Sites to Endeca
- Single Sign on between the backend elements of the solutions (administration purposes)
- integration with Experience Manager for feeding cartridges from Sites
This is in addition to the existing integration possibilities between WebCenter Sites and ATG currently

I'm experienced in Hyperion but new to OBIEE. I have implemented OBIEE separately in development environment for evaluation.
But I am not clear how OBIEE and Hyperion System 9 is integrated at this time. Hyperion System 9 rel. 9.3.1 is where I am at.
How far is it integrated and how?

OBIA 7.9.5 EBS Integration Not Logged On nQSError 43001 Authentication Fail

I'm attempting to get Oracle Business Intelligence Applications 7.9.5 / OBIEE 10.1.3.3.2 integrated into the eBusiness Suite 11.5.10.2 per Metalink Note 552735.1. At the moment not an action link, just menu option to SA Administrator.
I've run into and worked around a number of problems with the Initialization block variables setup in OracleBIAnalyticsApps.rpd and now no longer get errors in the NQServer.log after disabling Initialization Blocks for Siebel/Peoplesoft and disabling 2 EBS specific Init blocks that were erroring; 'Inventory Organizations' and 'Ledgers' I'll fix those later.
However, now I get an error in the sawlog0.log file as follows:

The strange thing is both Gareth and I have configured OBIA/OBIEE on a Linux server and local authentication works fine. Once we enable external EBS authentication, we get the error listed above.
Does anyone who has done the OBIA EBS integration with OBIEE running on Linux have an example of the odbc.ini file. It appears that even though we have reconfigured OracleBIAnalyticsApps.rpd to use OCI everywhere, that there is still some hard coded ODBC references for external authentication.

Object Level Security in OBIEE 11.1.1.5

Hi All,
I am trying to implement object level security for certail groups. We have BI Apps 7.9.6.3 implemented in whch obiee 11.1.1.5 is integrated with EBS R12. Users are able to login through diffrent responsiblities to OBIEe. I need insight into how to implement object level security. Below are the steps whihc i have followed but still i am facing strange issues i.e. some users are able to see dashboards which they have no access with view display error. I checked in dashboard permission. They do not have access
1) Created application roles in OBIEE with the same resposiblity names
2) Grouped the application roles in diffrent groups. I.e. if application roles a,b,c should have access to dashboard x then i made b and c member of a.
3) Configured security in manage previleges and catalog for these application roles i.e. i used application role a mentioned in step 2 in manage previleges etc.
4) Restarted the BI server and presentation servers.
Are there any other steps which should be followed apart from above mentioned steps. Do i have to make use of groups.

1) I want to check if there are any components i.e. BI server, presentation server or any other service that should be started after creation of application roles. I started only BI server after creating application rolesAny changes made to the Application policies should need a restart of admin and managed server however if you are not creating policies just Roles with similar names OPMN restart should be good to see the changes made.
2) I made use of application roles throughout in object level security . Is it the correct approach ?Yes that is the right approach to use application roles for defining object level permission settings throught, do not go for catalog groups its makes it nasty to manage. Here is the quote from Sec Guide : " Using catalog groups is not considered a best practice and is available for backward compatibility in upgraded systems."
3) To check if there are any object level security related bugsThere might be more than once mentioned above since 11.1.1.5 .. I do not trust that version it bites a lot ;)
And to explain step 2 lets say there are n number of application roles which should have same object level security but diffrent data level security. In that case i made all such application roles member of another application role and configured object level security for that group only. For ex in manage previlege i configured "Access to Answer" for one application group and made other application group member of this group. Integration of BI with Oracle EBS R12

Hi friends,
Im in the process of integrating oracle BI 11g with the EBS R12, by following the saurabh gautam document.
I followed all the steps indeed in the document but it didnt worked as i can redirect to the BI 11g page soon after clicking the menu in the EBS R12, but the BI login page is appearing soon after that. Since i dont want that login page to ask and im looking for SSO with BI.
So, soon after clicking the menu it has to go the BI home page directly. I have followed all the steps in the document but none seemed to work.
I have followed the below steps in the EBS R12 application side.

<li>Responsibility
<li>User
<li>Profile
And also setted up the change described in that document in the BI side too.
<li>the Connection Pool for Oracle e-Business Suite database

Finally i have restarted the BI server too. But while clicking the menu in EBS now it is redirecting to the BI login page instead of navigating to the BI home page.
What might be the issue friends, is im missing something in the document that i followed.
