Atheros AR5212 wireless w/wpa supplicant not working
I've got a Lenovo Z61 laptop with the Atheros AR5212 wireless chipset. I got it working with network manager and knetworkmanager in KDE but it wasn't connecting consistently so I went to the network profiles method of setting up the interface on boot. Still have the same problem with it not connecting and failing. Most of the time the only thing in the everything.log is: "ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): ath0: link is not ready". Is this a problem with the madwifi driver? Should I switch to ndiswrapper and see if that works every time? This really has me perplexed.

Did you follow this page of the wiki: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ndi … supplicant ?
I have the same chip in my laptop & following those instructions, but substituting "dhcp" in there & where he says "wlan0", i put "ath0" instead, worked. Follow that page up to the part where he talks about fwcutter (ignore that bit), and i also didn't use the menu/profiles system he recommended. But making a file in /etc/network-profiles (i called it ath0), and the rest of his instructions, did work.

Wireless network and bluetooth not working on touchsmart 600
This has not worked since day 1 and I have been using wired internet.
I really need to setup a home network and need to use wireless.
Research on the net has led me to belive I should have HP WIRELESS ASSISTANT on my machine... is that correct?
Everytime I try to download it is seem to be for a notepad... mine is a touchsmart desktop...
Please adviseHi coffee12345,
Welcome to the HP Forums!
I have read your post on your wireless keyboard and mouse not working with your desktop, and I would be happy to help you! To begin, I need to ask you a few introductory questions:
What is the Product and Model Number of your desktop?
What version of Windows are you using?
Is this a recent issue, or has it been like this since day one?
Are you using a USB hub to connect your peripherals or is it directly plugged into the computer?
Please re-post with the necessary information, and I look forward to your reply!

I am using chat-r wireless and facetime is not working but when i put rogers fido or any other carrier sim in it work. Anyone know what the problem?
I'm guessing it's a compatibility problem similar to that that T-Mobile in the US has. I'm not familiar with chat-r wireless, but I'm guessing it's not a supported carrier for the iPhone. If they can't tell you how to fix it, I'm guessing it's just plain not going to work.

X100e - Wireless is on and not working
Hi guys,
I am completely new to the forums and to thinkpads. I have had my think pad for 2 months. Till yesterday everything was working well, until I decided to update the drivers. After it the wireless stoped working. Problem is exactly the same as:
http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-Edge/Wireless-apparently-active-but-not-working/m-p/280548
However, the solution does not work for me. All my drivers are up to date. I did reinstall the Realtek driver, access connections and updated bios without any luck. Clicking repair does not solve the problem. The wireless is not shut off in the BIOS. Do you guys have anything in mind?
Additional details:
Connection status: Not connected
Cause: Association failed - wireless radio not powered on.
Error code: 016
Recommended action:
Communication with access point could not be established because the wireless radio is off. To power on the radio and attempt to connect, click Repair.
If the problem persists, contact your network administrator and provide the troubleshooting information below.

As for your non-working keys, perhaps debris somehow got beneath the keys. Especially if you were eating while using your computer. Spilled anything on the keys lately or previously?

If none of the above applies to you, you could have a hardware issue. If you have Apple Care, call them and get a case number. Otherwise, take the computer to an Apple store or an AASP. Whichever is more convenient for you.
Liquid damage is not covered under Apple's standard 1 year warranty or Apple Care.
NOTE: If you are out of warranty and purchased the computer with a credit card, discuss the warranty issue with the credit card company which you purchased the computer with. They are the only ones who can at this point cover the computer after it goes out of warranty with the manufacturer (Apple).

Ultraslim wireless keyboard and mouse not working
Hi , I purchased the Lenovo Ultraslim Wireless Keyboard & Mouse (pn: 57Y4700) about 4 months ago for use with my T60 laptop (which i use with a docking station and large lenovo monitor at work).
Everything was woking fine until last Monday when I can into work after the weekend and neither the mouse or keyboard worked. I replaced the batteries in both, rebooted the machine several time, switch the USB ports for the nano receiver, but nothing seems to have worked.
I looked online for troubleshooting options, but did not find anything.
The mouse and keyboard don't seem to have a "sych" button - if I recall correctly everything worked right out of the box.
My theory is that the nano reciever was damaged (not sure how) -- but don't know how to proceed:
can the nano reciever be replaced;
any other options to troubleshoot;
any chance that this could be a software problem

Wireless-Card doesn't not work with WPA/WPA2 but with WEP [Solved]
Hello I have a MacBook (late 2007) with a wireless-card from Broadcam, the card works with WEP and the classic configuration over rc.conf very well. But I can't get the card running with WPA and the net network-profiles.

Wep key and wpa does not work.
I'm trying to set up security for my router using wep or wpa but everytime I set it up, my key does not work. The router is suddenly disabled. I did exactly as the how to setup wireless security said. do u have to hard reset to get it to work. I've been trying to set security for three days. Your help is appreciated.
First of all, give your network a unique SSID. Do not use "linksys". If you are using "linksys" you may be trying to connect to your neighbor's router. Also set "SSID Broadcast" to "enabled". This will help your computer find and lock on to your router's signal.
For WEP, you must enter WEP "key 1" (found in the router) into your computer, not the WEP password or passphrase.
For WPA or WPA2, enter the key (sometimes called password or passphrase) into your computer.
Note that for WPA or WPA2, use "personal", not "enterprise".
Also, nomenclature sometimes causes problems. Note the following:
WPA = WPA with TKIP = PSK
WPA2 = WPA with AES = PSK2
Also note that Windows XP requires SP3 to run WPA2 ( = WPA with AES).
Also, each time you try a new encryption method, you must remove old settings from your computer. To do this, do the following:
In the computer, go to your wireless software, and go to "Preferred Networks" (sometimes called "Profiles" ). There are probably a few networks listed. Delete any network named "linksys". Also delete any network that you do not recognize, or that you no longer use. Delete your current network (this will remove any old settings). Reboot computer. Return to "Preferred Networks" and re-enter your current network info (SSID, encryption (if any), and key (if any) ). Then select your current network and make it your default network, and set it to automatic login. You may need to go to "settings" to do this, or you may need to right click on your network and select "Properties" or "settings". Reboot computer. You should connect automatically (it can take up to two minutes). If you still have trouble, in the computer, temporarily turn off your computer software firewall, and see if that helps.
If the above does not fix your problem, download and install the latest driver for your wireless card. -
Apple Wireless Keyboard 'o' key not working
I have recently acquired a pre-owned wireless keyboard which was working fine until a few days ago. Now the 'o' key has stopped working and some keys do not work with the left shift key - they work fine with the right-shift key and other keys work with left-shift.
I have checked the key using the keyboard viewer and the 'o' is not highlighted highlighted when the key is pressed. I can type 'o' characters using the keyboard viewer.
I have tried pairing the keyboard with another mac and it has the same symptoms on that machine so I don't think it is a software problem or a problem with SVC, PRAM or Bluetooth on the mac ( late-2012 Mac Mini).
I have tried to look for solutions here and in other forums but none of the suggested solutions seem to work.
Any suggestions?I would reset the PRAM. If that does not work, I suspect it is failing and/or failed.
I agree, it is not a Bluetooth problem.

Wireless Keyboard FN Key Not Working
I have checked this box:
I also tried the Firmware 1.1 update but I got a messege saying:
"No Apple Aluminum Keyboards Found" and I paraphrase "Please connect the device or make sure it is turned on etc."
I also tried the Firmware 2.0 update but got the same message. I can't physically connect the Wireless Keyboard to the Mac Mini I have. It's wireless FFS.
I ALSO Installed the Bluetooth Firmware Update 2.0.1 and that didn't help
Also I tried some advice from a forum mentioning a SMC or System Management Controller via these instructions:
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3964
But nothing is allowing me to use my FN keys anymore. This is annoying because I thoroughly enjoyed volume control from my keyboard. Now it's gone.
This all started when my old keyboard broke and I got a new one. I want my volume control back! Help me please before I jump out the window!Hi.
My FN key is not working either. I have a macbook white (10.5.8) and a brand new apple wifi keyboard.
F9 to F12 keys are working. F1 to F4 keys are not working.
I've gone thought many posts (some are listed bellow). In short, I did the following already:
- keyboard software update
- keyboard firmware update
- magic mouse software update (because some posts suggested that more than one Bluetooth device, like magic mouse, could interfere on Bluetooth keyboard operation.
- SMC reset (above in this post).
Most posts were saying "uncheck the "use F1, F2......", then recheck it. This didn't work for me.
I'd appreciate any help.
Thanks in advance.
