  • How to do delta detection and delta creation

    Hi
i am new to OWB , please help me in
how to do delta detection and delta creation using OWB
    Thanks

    Hi Bassem,
for delta detection in your data source there are three possibilities:
    1. the source data has some identifier when it has been modified and deleted data is marked an not physically deleted
In this case you just filter the data that has been changed in your owb mappings.
    2. you use some change data capture technologies
You have to install this manually when using owb 11.1 or older versions (google for oracle and cdc). owb 11R2 brings built in support for change data capture.
    3. you get all the data and identify the delta manually
In the owb mapping you left outer join the data from your source with the existing data in your target and filter for the data that is new or has been modified. In a second step you identify the deleted data by selecting the data in your target minus the data from your source.
Which approach is the best depends on your specific system architecture.
    Regards,
    Carsten.

  • Can we use both 0FI_AP_3 and 0FI_AP_4 for Delta Loads at the same time.....

    Hi Gurus:
Currently my company uses 0FI_AP_3 for some A/P reporting. It has been heavily customized & uses Delta loading. However, SAP recommends the use of "0FI_AP_4" for A/P data fro delta loads. I was able to Activate 0FI_AP_4 as well & do some Full Loads in Dev/Test boxes. Question is whether I can use both the extractors for "Delta" loads at the same time......? If there are any issue, what is the issue and how ccan I resolve it? Is the use of only one extractor recommended......??
Please let me know as this impacts a lot of my development....! Thanks....
    Best...... ShruMaa
PS:  I had posted this in "BI Extractors" forum but there has been no response......  Hope to get some response.......!  Thanks

    Hi,
I would recommend you to use 0FI_AP_4 rather using both, particularly for many reasons -
    1. DS: 0FI_AP_4  replaces DataSource 0FI_AP_3 and still uses the same extraction structure. For more details refer to the OSS note 410797.
    2. You can run the 0FI_AP_4 independent of any other FI datasources like 0FI_AR_4 and 0FI_GL_4 or even 0FI_GL_14. For more details refer to the OSS note: 551044.
    3. Map the 0FI_AP_4 to DSO: 0FIAP_O03 (or create a Z one as per your requirement).
    4. Load the same to a InfoCube (0FIAP_C03).
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

  • Short dump error for delta load to 0CFM_C10 via 0CFM_DELTA_POSITIONS flow

    hi all,
i am getting short dump error for delta load to 0CFM_C10 via 0CFM_DELTA_POSITIONS flow.
not able to figure out the actual issue and how to solve it.
    can anyone suggest?
below is the details of the short dump
    Short text
        Exception condition "UNKNOWN_TRANSCAT" raised.
    What happened?
The current ABAP/4 program encountered an unexpected
        situation.
    What can you do?
Note down which actions and inputs caused the error.
To process the problem further, contact you SAP system
        administrator.
Using Transaction ST22 for ABAP Dump Analysis, you can look
at and manage termination messages, and you can also
keep them for a long time.
    Error analysis
A RAISE statement in the program "CL_SERVICE_TRG================CP" raised the
         exception
        condition "UNKNOWN_TRANSCAT".
Since the exception was not intercepted by a superior
        program, processing was terminated.
        Short description of exception condition:
For detailed documentation of the exception condition, use
Transaction SE37 (Function Library). You can take the called
function module from the display of active calls.
    How to correct the error
If the error occures in a non-modified SAP program, you may be able to
find an interim solution in an SAP Note.
If you have access to SAP Notes, carry out a search with the following
        keywords:
        "RAISE_EXCEPTION" " "
        "CL_SERVICE_TRG================CP" or "CL_SERVICE_TRG================CM003"
        "SORT_TRANSACTIONS"
        or
        "CL_SERVICE_TRG================CP" "UNKNOWN_TRANSCAT"
        or
        "SBIE0001 " "UNKNOWN_TRANSCAT"
If you cannot solve the problem yourself and want to send an error
notification to SAP, include the following information:
        1. The description of the current problem (short dump)
To save the description, choose "System->List->Save->Local File
        (Unconverted)".
        2. Corresponding system log
Display the system log by calling transaction SM21.
Restrict the time interval to 10 minutes before and five minutes
after the short dump. Then choose "System->List->Save->Local File
        (Unconverted)".
        3. If the problem occurs in a problem of your own or a modified SAP
program: The source code of the program
           In the editor, choose "Utilities->More
        Utilities->Upload/Download->Download".
        4. Details about the conditions under which the error occurred or which
actions and input led to the error.

    Hi,
It seems like some routine are there and check your rotines , transformation etc.

    Dear KJ,
Thank for your response. I saw the code that you sent, you have used some ztables like ZSC_DELTA_IP, ZSC_SAFETY_DELTA, ZSC_SET_EXT_TIME
What are the fields that you have created in these tables , what is use of these tables, can you send the fields that you have used in these tables.

  • Forcing Face Detection for All Pictures in an Event

Aperture 3.0 fails to detect all faces in all photos in an Event. Is there a way to force face detection for all photos in an Event? As it stands now, one cannot tag photos for faces if Aperture decides (erroneously) that photos don't contain a face.
Spent ninety minutes with Apple Aperture Support, who confirmed this.

I don't know how to answer your first question (force it for all photos), but I thought you could add faces / names to a photo using the Name button left hand side of the toolbar. I've used it today to add a "Face" to a photo containing two hands because I wanted to tag each hand with a Name. So I clicked Name, and drew a box on each hand and added a Name to it. So it works for a single photo but that might be a pain to do for a lot

Are you sure this MAC address 58:b0:35:83:72:86 isn't some type of Apple device?  Its OUI is registered to apple.  How do clients get ip addresses DHCP?  It appears that the IP 10.184.1.224 is statically assigned to your ap-manager and that this client 58:b0:35:83:72:86 is either getting that same IP from DHCP or the client is statically assigning it themselves.

  • WHEN WE GO FOR DELTA UPDATE  WHAT  HAPPENS IN R3 at same instant of time

    hi all
when we go for delta update in bw at same time what the process takes place in R3

Delta queue in R/3 T code is rsa7, the data comes to these tables before it is pulled in to BW. Nothing really happens in R/3 when you do a delta extraction. The delta queue keeps getting refreshed with the data for your next delta update.
    Thats my 2 cents

Please send me the solution asap.
    Thanks

    Hi,
This message means there may be a load triggered by the same infopackage that may be still running or may be still having yellow status. Go to the monitor screen from this IP itself and it will show the paricular request (it will be the latest one). See if that load is active and running. If its active try to find out if load is happening, if its happening you may let it progress. If its not active you need to force the status to red and delete from the target. Once this is done you can retrigger the load. If its a datamart load you may need to reset the data mart status before the triggering the load.

  • An Invalid Setup has been detected for the current Transaction Type in AME

    Gurus,
I am constantly getting an error An Invalid Setup has been detected for the current Transaction Type in Approvals Management
My client have 3 units say A,B,C. A requirement is such that whenever a vacancy is created, an approval should be sought from units HR manager.
I have created a dynamic query for this and it is working fine for first two units say A & B. i.e. whenever somebody from unit A or B creates a vacancy it is correctly fetching the

  • Generic function module for delta - which FM ?

    Hi all,
I want to create a custom generic datasource in R3 which uses a function module for delta extraction. This is straight forward for full extract (copy FM RSAX_BIW_GET_DATA_SIMPLE - I already did this and have a full extraction working to BW). However I need to extract delta - and the above function module does not have example code for that (I have seen some forum posts that it 'can' be used - but this looks like a pseudo get around where the delta field name is passed in I_T_SELECT).
FM RSVD_BW_GET_DELTA_DATA seems to be an example code of a FM which can allow delta (i.e. manually codes how to fill date/time stamp information). However when I code this and try test in RSA3 it seems to try to populate the delta selection field before calling my function module! I need it to call my function and allow the function to specifiy the date criteria.
Can anyone help with an example of how this should best  be done ?
Or can it only be done in a pseudo form using 'RSAX_BIW_GET_DATA_SIMPLE' example FM.
Note: I have setup the RSO2 datasource to allow delta.
Also - I have spent several hours searching the forum - but please answer with a link if you think it does answer exactly this problem.
    Thanks for any help
    Martin

    Hi again,
Have had a few requests for the code I used - I created a new custom function copied from 'RSAX_BIW_GET_DATA_SIMPLE'. AEDAT has been set as the delta date for this data source in transaction RSO2.
    Main sample code is -
    1. Code to receive selection criteria and store in internal ranges -
    FUNCTION zbw_sodetail_get_detail.
    ""Global interface:
    *"   IMPORTING

    *"       VALUE(I_INITFLAG) TYPE  SRSC_S_IF_SIMPLE-INITFLAG
    *"       VALUE(I_READ_ONLY) TYPE  SRSC_S_IF_SIMPLE-READONLY

    *"              I_T_SELECT TYPE  SRSC_S_IF_SIMPLE-T_SELECT OPTIONAL
    *"              I_T_FIELDS TYPE  SRSC_S_IF_SIMPLE-T_FIELDS OPTIONAL
    *"              E_T_DATA STRUCTURE  ZBW_SODETAIL OPTIONAL
*--- Sales order item create date
LOOP AT i_t_select INTO l_s_select WHERE fieldnm = 'ERDAT'.
          MOVE-CORRESPONDING l_s_select TO r_erdat.
          APPEND r_erdat.
       ENDLOOP.
*--- Sales order item change date - DELTA only - auto filled before
       this function is called.
C (Initialise Delta) - Low = blank, High = today - safety limit
       D (Delta) - low = , High =   .       *from roosgendlm
LOOP AT i_t_select INTO l_s_select WHERE fieldnm = 'AEDAT'.
          MOVE-CORRESPONDING l_s_select TO r_aedat.
          APPEND r_aedat.
       ENDLOOP.
    2. Code to use selection criteria to get initial or delta. Note that for delta the delta date field to be used is automatically populated with the date of the last delta run (from table roosgendlm) -
       SELECT VBAK~KNUMV
              VBAPVBELN VBAPPOSNR VBAPMATNR VBAPARKTX VBAP~SPART
              VBAPWERKS VBAPERDAT VBAPAEDAT VBAPNETWR VBAP~WAERK
              VBAPABGRU VBAPZPROMISE VBAP~CUOBJ
              VBEP~EDATU
INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE ZBW_SODETAIL_ITAB
FROM VBAK JOIN VBAP ON VBAKVBELN = VBAPVBELN
JOIN VBEP ON VBAPVBELN = VBEPVBELN
                             AND VBAPPOSNR = VBEPPOSNR
WHERE VBAP~VBELN IN R_VBELN        "Order number
AND VBAP~POSNR IN R_POSNR        "Order item number
AND VBAP~ERDAT IN R_ERDAT        "Order item date created
AND ( VBAP~ERDAT IN R_AEDAT OR   "Created date in      Delta range
VBAP~AEDAT IN R_AEDAT OR   "Order item change    Delta range
VBAK~AEDAT IN R_AEDAT ).   "Order header change  Delta range
Note that if the data source is called in initial or full extract mode the delta change date (aedat) will automatically be blank.
I have been using this successfully.
    I hope this helps
    Martin.

  • How to make JOB CONTROL setting for delta extraction in Production system .

    Hello All,
We are in the process to transport our development to PD server in BI . We have transported the data sources to ECC production and now we are filling the setup table for " SD BILLING BW " . After filling Setup table data in full mode through infoPackage we have to load data in delta mode .
How we can set our Update mode(LBWE setting) in PD server ?
Is LBWE  T.Code authorisation required in ECC PD server to make the setting of Update mode   or   We have to set all  Job Control Paramater in Dev System at the time of transport the datasource request to ECC production .  Is our time which is set in job control of  ECC development  will be reflected in ECC production ?
can any body tell me about how to make setting for delta extraction in Production system .
    Thanks ...

    Hi,
How do you load the data in the development system?
    - you set up the update mode in the infopackage. There you must customize "Initialization"
    - you have to filled the setup table in the production system without laoding the data in the BW? then this step was for nothing. Filling the setup table and do the INIT in the BW, this must be together - during no changing will be done in your R/3 SD.

  • Need for locking system for delta initialization (BW-R3-LO)

    Hello all,
Could someone please help me with the following,
Please be kind, don't get impatient for the lengthy post
    1. Do we need to lock the system (or posting-free the system) to do early delta initialization or not? If yes, please explain me how that work?
    2. Someone somewhere mentioned that early delta initialization is not preferable compared to normal delta initialization, even though early delta initialization is advantageous. Why is that so?
    3. Imagine, while scheduling Queued Delta Init or un-serialized V3 delta Init, if I choose certain end date and time (say, 10pm, 12-31-2007) for the records, then all the records till that point would be loaded to setup tables and all the records after that point of time will be moved to extraction queue or update tables. My question is, if this is true why would we ever need to lock the system during setup tables filling?
If you say the records after that particular time and date (10pm, 12-31-2007) will not be collected in extraction queue and update tables, why don't we do the following
a). say, I do full load with end date and time (10pm 12-31-2007)
b). Next, I do delta init with start date and time (10pm 12-31-2007) (this time I lock the postings)
If we do this way, we can actually reduce the down time of the system. Is my conclusion right?
If you say it's not practicable as some transactions' saving time differs from time stamp and some transactions' delta is even measured by pointer.......if this is the case we can use Delta offset. What do you say about this?
    4. How this scenario differs to early delta initialization?
Your responses would be greatly appreciated
    Thank you

No,you don't need to lock the Source System which is the advantage of Early Delta Init.
With early delta initialization, you have the option of writing the data into the delta queue or into the delta tables for the application during the initialization request in the source system. This means that you are able to execute the initialization of the delta process (the init request), without having to stop the posting of data in the source system. The option of executing an early delta initialization is only available if the DataSource extractor called in the source system with this data request supports this.

Early delta is not supported by all the extractors. See Lo Extraction

This is applicable to Generic Delta where you can set the Safety Interval (Upper Limit and lower Limit) for the extractor based on ALE Pointer, or Time Stamp or Calendar day.
If you excute a extractor with early delta init, during the setup table fill, the delta records will be directly written to the delta queue. The delta management handles these functionality.

If you do a Init without Early Delta init, then the user cannot post new documents and you have to either schedule in the weekend or request for a Source System downtime.
But if you use Early delta , then you don't need the source system down time and the user can post new records during the init, which will be written to the delta queue directly.
