ATI AIW vs ATI TV Wonder Pro

I have done searches for this before but never found anything. I used to have an All in wonder series video card but I did not like the price jump to get a newer card so I decided after much research to go with the TV Wonder Pro but there is one thing I cannot figure out to get enabled (if it is even possible!) With the AIW I could pause TV because it would always record whatever you were currently watching. With the seperate card it no longer does this feature. I used it all the time and I cannot figure out how to enable this feature.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Okay I installed the new mmc and catalyst drivers from ati with no luck for the "tivo" feature. (I guess I will need to call ati and hopefully get somewhere with them). But I have run into a problem. This could be a number of different things and I am slowly trying to figure it out.
Recently I had to do a repair on Windows XP on my machine. As most of you probably know when you do a repair you need to reinstall service packs. I decided to try SP2. About the same time I installed my soundblaster Audigy Card. Now when I watch TV the audio has a reverberating sound and the video will freeze after a couple of minutes, but the audio will still keep going. Most likely this is from SP2 but it could be related to my soundcard. Also when I do the PC Check it comes back saying that Directx is not installed (I have 9.0c installed from SP2) and that my capture drivers are not installed.
I have downloaded some more files from ATI and will try those tonight and if that doesn't work I will pull the sound card then as a last resort (before removing SP2) call ATI. The reason I don't want to pull SP2 is I haven't had any other problems with it. And I like the security features it incorperates into Internet Explorer.
Anyway I will post my findings when I get a chance.

  • SIS 648 max w/ATI AIW 9800 pro issue

Hey all...    I am trying to install a new Ati AIW 9800 pro in to my PC.  The Motherboard is a MSI 648 Max-L.......    Every time I install the old or new Driver set for the Ati card it kills my network connection I cannot connect to the internet or other PC in my network...  I cant even ping my router.   I have to restore my PC back to the time before the install and all is fine even with the card still in the PC with no drivers loaded.       Hers the kicker I can install just the ati display drivers an all is fine but as soon as I install the Multimedia drivers I lose all network connection and have to do a restore to get it back.  Even if I delete the drivers and reboot the PC my network connection is gone, have to do a restore to get it back.
    Any ideas on this issue????

  • TV Tuner - TVAnywhere v. Hauppauge v. ATI Wonder Pro

Hello.  I am likely purchasing a Mega 180 this week primarily as a HTPC.  As with any forum there are more complaints and requests for assistance than praise.  It does seem, however, that the MSI TV tuner has several issues.  Would you recommend going with an alternative TV tuner such as the Hauppauge 250/350 or ATI Wonder Pro?  I realize I may lose remote functions with the MSI remote - but it appears as though girder may solve this?  I hope to use the mega as a PVR on a 50" Samsung DLP - any suggestions based on this set-up?  Thanks -
    Jeremy

In my own case, the idea of using Mega 180 as PVR has failed. I strongly believe not because I'm stupid.
Perhaps in the US with few different standards being used the whole outlook is different, however I must admit I have not seen a single review among all those generally positive ones about Mega 180, where any testing was done for this relatively-important function.
So my recommendation would be to think twice before spending your hard-earned money on this gadget.
Another thing to warn about is severe problems with CPU temperatures, unless you are willing to "underclock" the system, or to make serious changes in the interior design.

  • MS-6309 V2.x problems with ATI-All in Wonder Pro AGP 2.X

I have a  MS-6309 V2.x and are trying to have my  ATI-All in Wonder Pro AGP 2.X  working on this Mainboard !  The computer crash after loging and restarts imediately  ! this repeats to the invinity !  I have the latest bios update !  Some one with the same problem please tell me about your work arround !

Ok ! I have figured out the problem largely because of your aid on this forum ! Thanks to all !
The problem is the compatibility with the CPU's !!!
Well here are all the information found on the CPU's
I have a :  Pentium III  costa rica
                   850/256/100/1.7v
                   3045A586-1116 SL4CC
The Pentium III is the big problem It crash all the time on all systems !
    and a :     Celeron
                   900/128/100/1.75v
                   Q151A233-0248 SL5LX
The celeron crash when it whant's on Windows and crash from time to time when I use certain Software on Linux system
One question does your Bios Upgrades include the microcode for these CPU or is it the Operating system (Under Windows) update.sys that does the updates !
It's not the ram responsible for the crashes but the CPU'S !

I just purchased the new MSI Master-L MS-9126 (E7205 chipset) & it's not working with my ATI AIW 8500DV... System won't boot up, no POST or beep code. I reset the CMOS, then it will boot once, but getting "CMOS checksum error"... and if I reboot the system, it won't boot up again, no POST.. I have to reset the CMOS again, and then checksum error, problem occurs in a loop....
I tried different CPU, RAM, unplug all other devices (HD, cdrom, floppy, soundcard, etc), same problem. But once I changed the video card, everything is fine…. Seems like compatibility issue with my ATI AIW. I contacted ATI support but no help. Any advise is appreciated, perhaps new beta BIOS???

  • Can I add a second ATI 4870 to my 2009 Mac Pro?

    1. Can I add a second ATI 4870 to my 2009 Mac Pro? Sorry if posted already, I searched and Googled and could not find it.
    2. What is the general consensus on the EVGA GTX285? Will this out perform the 4870?
I read somewhere that the ATI needs additional power from the power supply and the GTX does not? Is this true? If this is the case are there extra power supply connectors for an additional 4870 (hence my first question).
The GTX has dual DVI out connector and this is my preferred solution to get 2 x 30" Cinema Displays.
    Thanks in advance,
    MIke

No. Each ATI 4870 needs two auxiliary power connectors. There are only two in the Mac Pro.
I read somewhere that the ATI needs additional power from the power supply and the GTX does not? Is this true?
No. Both use two per card.

    No.

You can use an adapter to connect a second 30" to the Mini DisplayPort
    <http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB571Z/A?fnode=MTY1NDA5OQ&mco=MjkyNjI0Mg>
(The latest adapters have new firmware, and shouldn't have problems.)
If you only need two displays, stick with one graphics card.

  • "ATI HDMI output: ATI High Definition Audio Device not plugged in"

Hi, I have a HP Pavilion p6210t PC running Windows 7. A few days ago, the sound stopped working, out of the blue. In Device Manager, it says ATI HDMI output / ATI High Definition Audio Device not plugged in." Computer is not connected with a TV, just a set of basic Logitech speakers.
I really have no idea how this might have happened. Any ideas on fixing this? I've rebooted and all that basic stuff, but nothing. Thanks!

Never mind, somehow the speakers were not set as default devices for sound. Fixed.

  • Issue with ATI AIW 9000 Pro

    I built a new system with a MIS 865PE NEO2 / Intel P4 2.6 G / 1 gig DDR
The system works fine until I try to capture video through the 9000.
Also I cannot capture with the VCR function.
The problem is this, when I try to capture using Pinnacel 8 using mpeg, the video file it creates cannot be opened. And when I record using AVI the video file drops 80% of the frames.
When I use the TV function, the VCR either does not capture, or drops 80% of the frames.
I've updated windows and ati with the latest and greatest drivers, but that still does not help.
Is there an issue with the 9000 PRO and MSI 865PE NEO/2?

Is there a method of throughly testing the sound output from my Realtek AC97 Audio Driver?
I am in the process of building and testing my new system.  Everything has been fine until this....  I was in the process of troubleshooting my capture features with my ATI All in Wonder 9600.  Unable to capture the audio and tired of trying I resumed my DOOM3 play.  This is when I noticed the difference in my play sound.  It is as if some channel of the processing is missing. I have checked all of my settings (I can find) throughout the system and cannot find a solution.  I fear I have somehow blown my sound.
When this sound issue is resolved I still need to successfully capture my video and audio from my camera.  All my drivers and software are current per the ATI FAQ site.  The process seems to work like a charm until I play back the file and there is no sound.  My crazy connector is plugged into my MoBo Line In.   If any of this is familiar please comment.
    Thanks

  • ATI AIW 9800 Pro

I have an 845E motherboard and running a ATI All-In-Wonder 9800 Pro.  Everytime I try to capture anything the computer locks up.  You can still hear the sound but the monitor looses a signal from the PC and I can't get the PC to shutdown unless I do a hardboot.

    Please read through the https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?threadid=39644&sid=
at the top of the page. In there you will find information on what to include in your signature to help troubleshoot the problem.
This thread will show you where the power supply information is located.

  • ATI AIW 9600, No display, RRRG...

    Hello,
I just finished building my first computer and have ran into a little problem.  I can't get my ATI All-In-Wonder 9600 (non-pro) to show a display.
When it's installed my diagnostic shows RRRG, or Initializing Video interface, and it just hangs there.  I tried the card in another system and it works fine.  I'm somewhat new at this so any help would be very appreciated.
    Thanks, jordan

Well the Fact that you are using an 8X AGP Card should have Nothing to do with it Since the Board is Made for 8X AGP Operation...I think that there is an ATI-9XXX Fix (Patch) Just for MSI Boards, I have to Find the Post where I read this, If I can find it I will Post a Link, so you Can try it Just for the Heck of it.............Sean REILLY875

  • ATI AIW 8500DV slow on KT3 Ultra2

Imagine my suprise when I discovered my new Athlon2000/ATI8500 system was much slower than my old P2-400/GeForce2MX when playing Microsoft Motocross Madness.  I discovered my ATI AGP card will not run at AGP 1X, 2X or 4X, no matter what I set the BIOS for.  Performance is extremely slow.  I have the latest drivers for video, AGP, bios, etc.  I stripped the motherboard down to just the CPU, RAM, AGP video card, keyboard and mouse (no other cards or devices are installed in the PC).
Moved ATI card to old P2/400.  Card ran at AGP 2X (top speed for motherboard) -- thus the ATI card appears to function fine.  Installed an old GeForce2 card in the MSI motherboard, and it ran at APG 2x (card's limit).
Is there a known issue with the ATI All-in-Wonder 8500DV in a MSI KT3 Ultra 2 motherboard?
Configuration: MSI KT3 Ultra 2 motherboard, single 512 MB DIMM Kingston ValueRAM PC2700 (333DDR) running at 166 MHz, Athlon 2000XP running 133 FSB, ATI All-in-Wonder 8500 DV with latest drivers as of January 2, 2003.  Windows 2000 Pro

  • Mega 180 and ATI AIW

    Hi!
Found some posts on the subject of getting an ATI All-In-Wonder card to work with a Mega 180 system, but didn't find anyone with a solution.
Would it be possible to use my old ATI Radeon 9200 AIW card with the Mega 180?
Currently i use the onboard VGA and the 8606-40 TV card and everything has been working pretty much perfectly all the way from first installing Windows XP.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    - Niclas

I'm using an AIW 9000 with no problems, except it was a git to actually get in the slot; took over an hour of careful manipulation and general frustration.

4 hours of installing the screen went blank with noice and line, like it happens in telivison when there is no signal.
    Day two
Same thing happened when I started my computer.
does anybody know a soluton to this problem?

Did you try Apple Hardware Test by extended testing?
I suppose graphic card is something wrong.

  • ATI error and no windows - Satellite Pro A60

    Hello,
When I start up my computer I get a bluescreen error c0000415
A quick google reveals that it is one of these: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/832324
"So what are you fussing about?" I hear you cry - the problem I have is, in getting to this error from another one (also ATI card based) I stuck my red disk in and wiped everything - including windows... and bnow the error kicks in before windows installs and safe mode (- which worked perfectly before) doesn't work because windows isn't installed!
    Oh the fun.
"I reckon it's a hardware error" - yeah so did I... however, before the reinstall and recover I could work the computer in safe mode and videos played fine with full colours and resolution. Am I missing the point if I think that a working video is an indicator of a working video card?
I must admit I'm stumped well and truly. I'm going to try and dig out an old Windows 98 disk, but I'm not sure how much that will help, as the only copy of XP I have is on the recovery disk... [Return to Step 1]
Any suggestions much appreciated - thanks in advance...
    [it's a Sat pro A60 w/ 256+? RAM, 2.8Ghz celeron, ATI Radeon Mobility 7000 etc...]

    Hi
As Microsoft document suggested this issue may occur if an ATI Radeon 7200 display adapter was installed on your computer and the driver that is supplied with this adapter may not work correctly with Windows XP.
    The SP2 installation should helps.
This MS statement says everything! Its not a hardware problem but there is an compatibility issue with Windows XP (without SP2) and the ATI 7200 radeon driver.
You should try to get an original Windows XP CD with or without the SP2.
The software called nLite allows you to create an own Windows booting CD and to add the MS patches and service packs to this CD.
Then you could try to boot this CD and after the OS installation you should update or change the graphic driver!!
