After Installing several Vista updates including updates for office 2003 on my Satelite A200-17O my computer shows my an message that tells me that the Ati Catlyst software doesn't work anymore. when i look at the detailed information i can read the following:

I tried to reinstall the old software and a new version for several times but the error keeps on occuring! Can anyone help me. Toshiba support only advised me to restore to former settings by using the system recovery, which did not work, or to use the recovery cd to restore original sytem settings. But i hope there is another way to solve the problem.

sp1 is installed now but the problems started several days before i installed sp1
the problem occured "over night" when i shuted it down the day before everything worked; i rebooted it several times after installing the updates...
the next morning catalyst didn't work anymore!

  • Satellite A200-17O - How to restore Windows to factory settings?

    Hi
I have a Satellite A200-17O. I want to restore Windows Vista to factory settings, I do not need to back up any files. I do not have the Product Recovery CD. When I press F8 and click the "Repair Computer" option, it will give me all the options, but when I click the option to fully recover the system (the one on the bottom), it will simply open up a window telling me to back up my data, then theres an "OK" button, and when I click that, the window will simply close and go back to the options menu. All I want is to get Vista back to Factory settings.
    Thank you for your help.

    Hello
Yes, normally you can restore your notebook back to factory settings using the HDD recovery option. Therefore you should follow the instructions here:
    http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R01.htm
If it doesnt work you have to use the Toshiba recovery disk. If your notebook didnt come with such a recovery disk you have to create it yourself using preinstalled recovery creator tool. This is mentioned in your user manual, have you checked it?
Therefore you need some blank DVDs. I would recommend DVD-R from Verbatim or TDK. Many users here have good experience with these brands.
If you have more questions, just post again! ;)

  • Several devices do not work on Satellite A200-FL1 PSEA6 with XP SP2

I am owner of a Satellite A200-fl, I have deleted Vista and successfully instaled XP SP2. However the computer is working, I have several problems after instaling Toshiba drivers (Spanish) found in download section.
1st. No sound hardware is found, I have tried the following drivers: *Native Windows XP SP2 drivers, Realtek Semiconductor Corporation Windows XP 1.69, Realtek Semiconductor Corporation Windows XP 5.10.0.5440*
2nd. Modem is not found, I have tried the following driver: *Toshiba Windows XP SM2177ALD04*
3rd. Bluetooth is not working, I have tried the following driver: *Toshiba Windows XP 3.01*
4th. In hardware tree, there are two PCI devices not properly installed, I dont know what they are.
5th Hotkeys are not working, I have tried the following driver: *Toshiba Windows XP 0.48.2.1.C*
I have to say that I have followed Toshiba installation instructions, and used Toshiba official drivers only, but there is no way I can solve it, I feel really upset and fed up with this situation.

    > Anyone knows about how to solve sound problem?
    1) start with a clean XP installtion etc...
    2) Install Chipset & graphic driver and some other drivers
    3) Installed Microsoft *KB888111* hotfix
    4) Install a windows XP Update
    5) Install sound driver

  • Wifi doesn't work on Satellite C-55-A-14G with Win 8 64bit OS

My wifi connection does not work on Satellite C55-A-14G Windows 8 64bit.
    How can I fix this?
There is wifi on other computers but not on this laptop.

    Hi
You are still using Win 8?
Microsoft has already released the Win 8.1 system.
Its recommended to update the Win 8 to Win 8.1 since different bugs have been solved and new features have been added.
The Win 8.1 update is free and you could download the update files from Microsoft Store.
Please perform the update as recommended by Toshiba and update essential the driver and tools.
I guess after the update the WLan would work properly.

  • Pacman -S catalyst doesn't work?

So, I know it seems odd registering and posting on the same day, but it doesn't look like anyone is having this problem. I have a Dell Inspiron 1501, and so far it's worked like a charm, except when I try to do the above command (pacman -S catalyst for those with a short attention span ) Instead of downloading and installing the catalyst package, like the wiki, and everyone else seems to say, I get a very lovely error:
catalyst package not found, searching for group...
error 'catalyst' : not found in sync db
I've tried everything in an attempt to get the damn ati drivers, but nothing is working. And the only reason I'm doing it is so I can boot using vga=864 in the grub line no other reason. If someone can explain to me WHY the sync db is out of date with what is in the AUR repos, and why pacman is afraid of the delicious drivers located within I would REALLY appreciate it.

That is because Arch recently pulled the catalyst driver off the official Arch repos.  Due to it's (lack of) development.

You can still get it from Yaourt/AUR if you really want it.

  • ATI catalyst drivers not working properly in Mac Pro late 2013

Hi, I have a 6-core Mac Pro late 2013 with two D500 ATI graphics cards and installed Windows 8.1 Pro through bootcamp. I have installed the bootcamp drivers while in windows installation, however there is a problem opening the Fire Pro drivers (catalyst drivers). I get a message that says something like "there is no option to change so the software will not run". I also tried to download the ATI drivers directly from their site, but still get the same problem.
This poses a problem for me since I need windows for a specific lighting design software that I work with -Dialux-, and it uses Open GL, which doesn't seem to work in my configuration. Does anyone have any similar problem or solution?
    Please help. Thanks.

Does the reader show up under USB in System Report?
If the reader is working properly both the reader and an inserted card will show up.

    Hi,
Since I installed Windows 8.1 on my computer Satellite C850-1CN ref. : PSKCAE my SD port does not work
I would like to know if there is a driver I need to download because I searched the site for a pilot port but in vain ...
Sorry for my English I speak French and I hope I'm in the right forum

    Hi
You have to download and install the card reader controller driver for Win 8.1 system
This driver should be the right one:
    [Card Reader Controller v 6.1.8400.30136 Windows 8.1 - 64 Bit|http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_driver_details.jsp?service=EU&selCategory =2&selFamily=2&selSeries=312&selProduct=7499&selSh ortMod=3417&language=13&selOS=all&selType=316&year upload=&monthupload=&dayupload=&useDate=null&mode= allMachines&search=&action=search&macId=&country=a ll&selectedLanguage=13&type=316&page=1&ID=88526&OS ID=46&driverLanguage=42]

  • Web Camera doesn't work on Satellite L50D

    Satellite L50D-B-136
Trying got get web camera to work, without success.

Check please BIOS settings. Under advanced > system configuration you can find option to enable/disable webcam. Check please if your webcam is enabled properly.

  • Keyboard doesn't work on Satellite L450

I am trying to fix a Satellite L450-181 for a friend.
I have had to replace the hard drive as a friend tried to load Yahoo messenger and when the laptop rebooted a screen came up to say a file was either missing or corrupted but we were unable to access any of the keyboard except the mouse and touchpad.
I replaced the hard drive and reloaded windows 7 64bit from a Microsoft disc as we were unable to find the Toshiba recovery disc. Everything works fine after downloading all required drivers from Toshiba except the entire keyboard. The keyboard shows up in the device manager as working fine with no conflicts but I cannot get any function from the keyboard at all.
I suspect my friend has locked the keyboard in some manner or there is a setting I need to enable but I am at a loss at what to try next as I have reloaded the flash card utility, the vap utility, tried the Fn/ F11 and the Fn/F10 combinations to no avail.
Any help would be gratefully received.

    Hi
From my knowledge its not possible to disable the keyboard using an Fn button combination.
It looks a little bit like an keyboard problem.
But as mentioned by Silas, try to test the keyboard in BIOS.
Power up the unit and press F2 to access the BIOS
Here you should set the BIOS to default press F9 and save the changes pressing F10
If this is not possible and if the keyboard does not respond, then the keyboard might be faulty and needs to be replaced.
By the way: you can connect an external USB keyboard in order to check this.

  • Fullscreen minecraft with catalyst doesn't work

Minecraft is working great for me, with a good fps and everything, but I cannot set it to fullscreen.
First off all I'll just say I'm running Gnome 3 with the propetary catalyst drivers and Oracle java, however this problem persists openJDK. I have dual monitors, one 16:10(1920:1200) and one 5:4(1280:1024).
The problem is there both with a fresh Minecraft, and while running Forge + Optifine, the problem is a little bit different with the modded Minecraft, though.
When I set Minecraft to fullscreen (It does not matter how I do it) the monitors will first turn black, then the primary monitor will return to gnome with minecraft in the same size, but the other monitor goes to sleep. So I'm back at a normal one-monitor setup, which gnome settings confirms.
Minecraft think it's in fullscreen, so the button to switch fullscreen off now reads: "Fullscreen: ON".
This part is the equal if I have modded Minecraft or not.
If I now try again the result varies from a modded and clean minecraft.
If I use a clean minecraft the screen turns black and stays black, but after a little while the screen has some strange white dots, which moves when I move the cursor.
I can recover this if I restart GDM from another tty.
If I do this with the modded minecraft (forge + optifine) the screen just turns black, and then turns back on, with minecraft still in a window still thinking it's in fullscreen.
Does anyone have any ideas for what migth be happening?
Last edited by totokaka (2013-08-12 13:22:37)

Some investigation in Minecrafts source reveals that minecraft has selected a DisplayMode(LWJGL thing) that does not support fullscreen, and when minecraft thinks it's in fullscreen, LWJGL says it's not.
    EDIT:
I did some more debugging, and turns out LWJGL reports that the default DisplayMode is fullscreen capable, as well as the 16 others on the list of available mods.

  • SDHC card does nor work on Satellite A200-1J0 with a clean Vista install

    Greetings,
When I bought this notebook there was preinstalled Vista 32bit and as usual some Toshiba's drivers and software. As I remeber there was no problems with built in memory card reader, it was reading regular SD cards and also SDHC.
One day I had to reinstall operating system (without using recovery disc) and i've downloaded drivers for my notebook from official site, installed them and the card reader now it's not able to read SDHC cards. Is it just me?
This is what I installed for reader:
-Toshiba Value Added Package where is TOSHIBA Flash Cards inside of it
    -Flashmedia Driver
    -SD Utilities
I just want to highlight that there's no problem with reading mmc or normal sd cards.
My sdhc card is 100% working properly with other card readers.
Another sdhc card that I have is not working, it's just like I put nothing inside the reader.
    Just nothing happens.
Is there anything else that I missed and this is the reason of my problem?
Any fix for Vista or something like that?

    Dear Jeffrey,
My problem is solved, thank you so much! :)
    This words were very helpful:
"Mostly an installation instruction is placed on the Toshiba European driver page which contains the essential installation order."
So I went on that site and found file where was written:
    Contents and Installation order
    for Windows Vista
    INSTALL ORDER
    WINDOWS VISTA
    No. Component Name Version
    1 Windows Vista RTM
2 Intel ICH7M Chipset Utility native

11 Intel Kedron Wireless LAN Driver
    12 Atheros Wireless LAN Driver
    13 Chicony Camera Software
14 Bluetooth Stack for Windows by Toshiba
    15 Bluetooth Monitor

    23 TOSHIBA Speech System
24 TOSHIBA Extended Tiles for Windows Mobility Center V1.01
    25 TOSHIBA Fingerprint Utility V5.6.0.3221
Thanks to that file I've found that I haven't installed "TI Multiple Digital Media Card Reader". In toshiba european download site there's nothing like that so nothing weird that I didn't find that before. Here google became a good companion and helped me to find that file. I just simply installed it without deinstaling previously installed drivers (just like is NOT written in install order above) and it's working :)
    Thank you once again!
    Best regards,
    Davit

  • Business Catalyst DOESN'T work as Advertised with Creative Cloud account

Question, I have a Creative Cloud, and I CAN'T publish web site that has a Business Catalyst features, why? As a designer I want to have a fully featured LIVE web site, that I could demonstrate to the clients, but instead I have limited useless webBasic.
I spent a lot of time developing that Business Catalyst featured web site, hopping that I could make it live with my Creative Cloud account, but I can't. Why you advertised that we could have up to 5 web site on business catalyst, if we can't?
I really don't wanna go to X-Cart or Magento Go, after I spent so much time learning BC features, at least give us a 1 fully featured BC website with Creative Cloud Account

Everywhere I read it was always Webasic.
Where did you read it would be otherwise?

  • DVD drive is not working on Satellite A200-1S5

After installing vista the dvd unit is not reading any disk until reboot. To be more specific, from the first moment I purchased the notebook I try to install ms works from disk but the unit was not reading.
I observed that if the disk was in the unit before the operating system started the unit was reading the disk. If I open the dvd unit and I close the unit (with the same disk inside) I have the message to insert a disk into drive and the message remained until I restart the operating system.
I have tried to recover the operating system with the DVD it came to but after install I had the same problem. I have tried with another operating system , windows XP , with all drivers installed (BIOS inclusive) and the problem still remains. The notebook works very fine except the dvd drive.
    Can anyone help me please?

    Hi,
one suggestion which could avoid to send the machine to a repair center would be to check the Toshiba Drivers Download site for a "firmware" upgrade for your drive. If no one is available or the firmware does not help to resolve the problem then you should definitively send the machine to an authorised service partner since it could really be a hardware failure.
If you need a link to find the nearest service partner in your country then you should click [HERE|http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_whitepaper.jsp?service=EU&WHITEPAPER_ID=0 000000871] and phone an ASP for a hardware chckup/repair which is nearest to you.

  • Web Cam doesn't work on Satellite L300

Cannot get web cam to function and cannot find anything on control panel to indicate how to do this - anyone help please.
My notebook is Toshiba Satellite L300.

    Hi Julara,
    > cannot find anything on control panel to indicate how to do this
You need the webcam driver that you can use it. The driver can be downloaded on official Toshiba website:
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > Support & Downloads > Download Drivers
    Check this!!!

  • Ati drivers doesn`t work correctly

I have a trouble setting up ATI RadeonHD 3470 crossfire properly. I know that the support for the proprietary drivers was dropped in Arch a long time ago(and I think this was a good solution since they were no good anyways) and I've been hearing really great stuff about the progress in the development of the free ati driver so I installed it following the instructions in the wiki. After I started X with it, the resolution was perfect, but everything was exceptionally slow, even browsing with firefox - it seems as if there is no 2d acceleration at all. I tried a more recent build of the driver (6.13 from git), but the problem remained. I'm probably missing something. Does anybody have an idea what that might be? Thanks in advance for your time and help.
