ATI Radeon HD 6970M 2g Driver for 2011 i7 3.4 27 iMac

I found a thread about this but he posted in the wrong section i think and of course people started going on a different track and the solution wasn't found.
I need the Driver for ATI Radeon HD 6970M 2g 2011 i7 3.4 27 iMac so that i can activate the GPU in After Effects cs6
Upgrading graphics drivers for HD 6970M in my iMac 27"?
Some help would be great. I've been searching for weeks. Running 10.9.5

Changing your hardware just for some raytraced 3D text that has all sorts of quality an performance issues? Pardon me, but that's just not smart. For that money you really could simply go out and buy a proper 3D program and learn it or plug-ins like Invigorator Pro or Element 3D. That aside, the 3D raytracer is now deprecated and won't receive much more love. Cineware is the new kid in town. Also the raytracer never will use any AMD GPU tech since it's built on nVidia's CUDA. Mr. kopriva has reiterated that point in his recent post:
http://blogs.adobe.com/aftereffects/2013/12/top-after-effects-feature-requests-2013.html
As it stands, you really should just forget the whole thing and move on. Otherwise of course you can of course your the raytracer in CPU-only mode, but it will feel like molasses.

  • ATI Radeon 9000 IGP Mobile driver doesn't have hardware acceleration

I installed the xf86-video-ati package and I don't get hardware acceleration. Glxgears gives a painful 80 FPS rate and nothing 3D intensive works, neither 480p/720p youtube videos. Also, it seems that the current drivers identify the card as 9100 instead of 9000, but I know that it's 9000 for sure. The laptop that I'm running is an old one, Compaq Presario R3000 with the Intel CPU.

  • Ati radeon xpress 200 series driver installing windows 8.1 pro black screen

dell optiplex 320 running Windows 8.1 standard.  The display is listed as ATI RADEON XPREES 200 in the device manager.
It is using the driver provided by the operating system - ATI Technologies dated 10/2/2010 and version 10-2_legacy_vista32-64_dd_ccc and ATI_ATI-Radeon-Xpress-X1100_A03_R172873.  From a cold boot the blue Windows logo appears and then the mouse cursor
in the middle of the screen, but the start screen with the tiles is not displayed.  Maybe this sounds weird, but I think the start screen and tiles is there, but just not being shown on the screen.  There appears to be nothing there, but I can move
the cursor around on the black screen and click in frustration.  Then I press the power button and the laptop enters sleep mode.  Once in sleep mode I press power again to resume the computer and then the lock screen shows up and I can see the start
screen and tiles and everything works like it should.  This only happens from a cold boot.  If the computer was on and restarted it does not happen.  Has this happened to anyone else?  Any suggestions?  I will check for a newer display
driver from ATI.  The only driver on the Windows Update Catalog is for Windows Vista.

mouse cursor in the middle of the screen, but the start screen with the tiles is not displayed.
Usually it is nVidia users who complain of this.  An explanation would be that you are seeing your secondary monitor display in an Extended display configuration.  When you press Win- etc. it would show on your primary monitor (which you can't
see).  So, press Win-P anyway and imagine that you can see its display.  Then you would press CursorUp, Enter and switch display configurations so you could see something.
only happens from a cold boot.
Then there is a feature in a boot that makes this change.  Try using Win-P again when you can see it to see what the configuration is then.

  • ATI Radeon 5470 Corrupted Display Driver

Hi, I've updated to windows 8.1 and I'm trying to install the old ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 Display Drivers, but when I go to AMD website it tells me to download a new version, and after I install that version I get like 10 fps at Counter Strike: Global Offensive, I think that before I updated to Windows 8.1 I had the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 Display Driver, but it got corrupted so I had to download the new one, but I want to use the old version because atleast it was stable and I could run the game smoothly. Is there anyway I can download the ATI display driver that comes with the computer? Since mine got corrupted and I need to replace it. I don't even know how to keep windows from installing the corrupt one..
    Please help

    BUMP, @HP
I tried installing every driver that hp recommends me to from this website. Still when I restart my computer I get to a black screen after Windows Logo, but I can boot in Safe Mode (what I'm using right now), I read somewhere that I need to replace the atikmdag in my Drivers folder because it might be corrupt but I don't have any non-corrupted driver to replace it

  • ATI Radeon X800 XT or ATI Radeon 9600 Pro Mac Edition for 30" display

I currently have the ATI Radeon 9600 Pro installed in my G5 2.0 DP and it is running my 30" display, but I am having some isssues when I play DVD's the pictures seems to skip every few seconds like it isn't playing fast enough, or it hesitates. I bought the ATI Radeon X800 XT and wanted to know if that would be a better card before I switch it out.

The X800 is a faster card but DVD playback doesn't put much load on the card, so the X800 probably won't help. If it skipping on more than one DVD, the DVD drive is probably having problems. Cleaning the lens ay help.

  • Is there a ATI Radeon HD 5770 Graphic card for 2-monitor use?

Hi, I just purchased a ATI Radeon HD 5770 Graphics Upgrade Kit for Mac Pro only to discover that there is only one VGI port for a monitor. I have been using two monitors for Final Cut work since I bought my MacPro tower in 2006. I need this new card to work with fxfactory 'pan and zoom' as a plug-in in Final Cut Studio. Does anyone know if Apple makes one with two VGI ports?
    Thanks very much, Bob

    What is VGI?
If you mean VGA - VGA is a VERY old connection type and the 5770 does not have a VGA port.
    Do you mean DVI?
The card has a dual link DVI and two mini DisplayPorts. If you mean you need a second DVI connection, get a Mini DisplayPort to DVI connector from Apple or a 3rd party converter supplier.

  • ATI Radeon HD 3870 Graphics Card for Mac debuts

    http://www.pcworld.com/article/id,147040-c,graphicsboards/article.html
AMD on Thursday announced the ATI Radeon HD 3870 for Mac and PC Edition. The new card is expected to ship at the end of June for US$219.
The card works in the PCI Express slots of both first-generation and second-generation Mac Pro systems, and features 512MB of 256-bit GDDR4 frame buffer memory and 320 stream processors. It's designed as a graphics upgrade for Mac Pros -- even those that may have come equipped with the Nvidia GeForce 8800 card introduced earlier this year. AMD claims its new Radeon card runs faster and costs less than the GeForce 8800 GT, which is only available from the Apple Store and costs $279.
The graphics processor can crank up to 70 gigabytes per second bandwidth using a 775MHz engine. That translates, according to AMD's internal benchmarks, into *30 to 180 percent better performance in Apple's Motion 3 software than the GeForce 8800*; slow Motion performance has been an Achilles' heel of Nvidia's rival card since its introduction.
    http://ati.amd.com/products/radeonhd3800/macpc/index.html

    Rob has it benchmarked:
    http://www.barefeats.com/harper16.html
I'm going to definitely buy this as soon as it's online. I'll order it through Rob's link too to reward him for all the work he's done on this issue.
Now, how about a refund on my GeForce 8800 upgrade, Apple?

  • T400 with ATI Radeon HD 3400. Driver not found after running ImageX.exe /Capture

    Hello,
I was able to reproduce the following problem on a T400.
    - unattended installation of WXP-SP3 (slipstreamed)
    - reboot
    - install latest ATI driver from Lenovo/IBM site (8.503.2.2-080818a-069536C)
    - reboot
At this point, the video driver is well configured.
    - Reboot once or twice, video driver still good.
    - Boot the T400 on WinPE 2.0
    - Capture the C:\ to a network file share using ImageX.exe (from Microsoft's WAIK 1.1)
    - Shutdown the T400, and reboot on C:\
    - At this point, video driver is "lost". The Hardware Wizard says "new driver found", but stick with default VGA.
Then I get an ATI error telling the driver is missing or not well installed.
    - When rebooting several times, suddenly the card is back in the device manager as a Radeon HD 3400.
    (without re-installing the driver ...)
    Anyone has an explanation ?
Please not I did not run "sysprep.exe" before capturing with ImageX.exe
    stefan

    Update on this problem.
After running "sysprep.exe -mini -quiet -reseal -shutdown", I ran the "ImageX.exe /capture".
After rebooting the T400, the ATI driver was fine.
Either is a coincidence (but I could repeat it 3 times...) or it is not advised to run "ImageX.exe /Capture" on a non-syspreped Windows XP.
I know that a non-syspreped Vista system has a limitation if captured with ImageX.exe. But I am not aware on any limitation with XP.

  • Best External hard drive for 2011 macbook air

i recently recieved a 2011 macbook air and heard that it is easier on the computer to use an external hard drive
if this is true what would be the best reasonably priced one to buy?
    thanks

    http://www.hgst.com/external-drives/mobile/touro-mobile-pro
This I have found is a very good "bang for the buck" drive. 7200 RPM drive, and USB 3.0, if later you can advantage of it.  If you want anything faster, you will have to raise your budget quite a bit going with a Thunderbolt drive, in which case I would recommend the Seagate GoFlex.
You may also want to consider a LaCie's Rugged Triple in 500 GB 7200 RPM configuration, and use the $29.00 Thunderbolt-Firewire adapter.

  • ATI Radeon X1900 XT - Mac driver updates?

    Hello,
I've looked around the forums and have found driver related questions for windows / bootcamp but not the Mac.
Does 'Software Update' include ATI Graphics software? Maybe I'm still used to the PC end of things that every week or so (if you're a gamer and such) one needs to be very aware of their directX, graphics, audio drivers etc.
The main reason I ask is I seem to crash often in World of Warcraft, get visual artifacts, and occasional full screen patterns along with lockups. These types of things only happen in WoW.
I've opened up the side of my Mac Pro and cleaned out some dust (i used to build PC's so i thought this might be heat related.) Still though, same issues and I'm thinking either WoW is the issue, my graphics card is the issue, or the driver needs to be updated.
    thanks

    Hi,
I've been doing a lot of reading on this card on many forums -- since I want to upgrade to it -- and I reached the conclussion that with heavy gamers, the ATI X1900 just cooks over a period of time -- 3 to six months typically -- and after that it just irreversibly fails.
keeping it well ventilated from the start can avoid the tragic end, but once the pendorchos inside feel the heat its fate is sealed.
There is a voodoo at the WoW forum that will lobby for you with Apple to get a replacement. Check there.
That said I'm still thinking of buying it since I don't play WoW or any other VC crunching game, and it seems to be doing a terrific job for video and some photo related programs.
    best Luck!
    Pablo

  • AMD Radeon HD 7600M Series Driver for windows 7 x64

    Hi everybody,
    I have an
    HP Pavilion g6-2297se Notebook PC
and Iim going to  reinstalled on it Windows 7  Ultimate (64bit). Thanks to this forum I have found all the drivers that I need except the drivers for AMD Radeon HD 7600M Series.
and  I'd like to know the best order for install  driverse  on the system
    Can someone help me?

    Hi:
You can use all of the W7 x64 drivers and software from the g6t-2000 on yours.
DO NOT USE ANY BIOS OR FIRMWARE FILES FROM THIS MODEL
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4063&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=5278...
Recommended order of installation for the first 4:
    1. Intel chipset installation utility and reboot.
    2. AMD graphics driver and reboot.  Note:  This installs the drivers for both the AMD and Intel GPU's.
    3. IDT Audio driver and reboot.
    4. Realtek ethernet driver and reboot.
Then you can install whatever else you need in any order you want.

  • Ati radeon 9800 pro 256 mb for older G5s?

So I just bought one of these on eBay for like $250 (the mac editions are still pretty pricey), and I install it into my AGP slot... it supplies power to the monitor, but nothing appears on the screen. I brought it to my local Mac store, and they said it's probably the card itself. Does anyone know if these cards are compatible with the 2003 release of the G5s (2.0 ghz)
    Here is the card:
    http://shop.ati.com/product.asp?sku=3170663
    and here is my computer:
    http://support.apple.com/specs/powermac/PowerMacG5.html
Please someone tell me that I'm not being an absolute moron here, this is driving me insaaaane.

I recently bought this same card for my MDD G4 and it does not work, beware of ebay video cards.
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=015&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT &viewitem=&item=250095195499&rd=1&rd=1
I installed this card, and shortly after power up I have strange blue vertical lines on my display and after about 4-5 minutes of use I have strange error pixels dancing across my screen before multiplying and covering the entrie screen followed shortly after by a black screen. Upon power down and case opening this card is very very hot. I am currently investigating the fan on the card, perhaps replacing it since it is very cheap, then asking for a refund and filing a complaint/petition on ebay.
Anyone else have a simlar story?

  • Any updates on the ATI Radeon HD 5870 upgrade kit for Mac Pro 2009/2010?

    So,
while the card is shipping without delay in new BTO Mac Pro units, there still is no sign of the kit posted on on the online store months ago (day/date with current Mac Pro release). To date, the card hasn't shipped (to anyone - no 3rd party store has received it), Apple still shows 'currently unavailable' - without even an 'add to cart' button (like the Quadro 4000); and even AppleCare is in the dark (you'd assume they can send units for replacement. Yet, while they can be setup in the GSX system, there is apparently no 'cost' shipments available even from support).
I suppose not - but does anyone have any more insight into what's going on here? This looks suspiciously like this card is not going to see the light of day as an upgrade kit; for either 2010 or 2009 Mac Pro.....
    Cheers,
    Dan

    Ugh.
That rhymes with what we are seeing.
After about a week of there being an 'order' button for the 5870 (it remained 'currently unavailable' though), the 'add to cart' option has, today, disappeared again. I assume anyone who ordered the card during the window will not see the card, and there seem to have been no purchase confirmations (usually sent within 15 minutes of processing) sent to anyone who ordered.
All this, as well as you report, points to the 5870 being EOL; apparently only a contingent was made for the Mac Pro, and now even AppleCare is running down on inventory for replacements.
That begs the question; once inventory runs out - assuming it does - to even supply the Mac Pro BTO, there has to be some replacement ready; assumingly something with better yield.
BTW - the 5870 cards for the Mac Pro are made by AMD (they are identical to the reference boards), and are stamped as such in Mac Pros. Whatever Apple does with them, they still get them from AMD, not a third party....
And, the Quadro 4000 isn't a good replacement - apart from the cost (which is reasonable for a productivity card) as for non-optimized apps (i.e. users that would usually buy a 5870) it'll likely be much slower due to the low clock and memory speed on the card. And, WOW isn't CUDA aware
    Oh well
    Dan

  • Is the ATI Radeon X1900 xtMac G5 only for dual cores?

I have an old G5 single and I was wondering if this card could be used with it.

Yes, that card (more accurately the X1900GT - the XT was for the Mac Pro only) is a PCI Express card, and only the dual core (Late 2005) G5s have those slots.
