ATI TV Tuner No Audio

I am using FME with my ATI TV Tuner. The tuner has an audio
out line which connects to your sound cards line in. However the
audio out on the TV tuner will only output audio when the TV tuner
is in use. Applications like Windows Media Encoder, etc work fine.
I get audio.
However with the flash player webcam code the audio for the
TV tuner never worked, and does not work for FME as well. I get
video fine, all works there but the audio is never kicked on. I'm
not sure if there is something in the capture API for devices to
trigger the audio that FME is not doing but Windows Media Encoder
does. I am selecting all the same options I do for the capture
devices for video & audio in other applications but FME just
doesn't kick the audio out on the TV tuner thus the line in on the
sound card never gets anything.
I am running the following:
Athlon 4000+ X2 Dual Core
3 GB RAM
ATI TV WONDER PRO Capture Card
Thanks and take care.

i noticed on my sb audigy 2zs it said you cold use aux in, cdin or digital in
it took it as not both..
try to see if you flipped cable over, one of my cd cables is not keyed it could be the problem..try to email ati tech support and if it works post here please.
what drivers are you using ati cat 4.3? mabey they changed something and it made aiw stop working, sometimes change is not for the better

I had the same problem with Xtrememusic + ATI 800XT.
When you uninstall and reinstall the ATI software make sure you unplug your remote wonder first and install it last.
Leave ATI a message....they were surprisingly great fixing at the problem. They recommended a different version of MMC and it's now working better then before I installed the soundcard.

  • Capture TV tuner video/audio into applet

I am working on my senior project that should capture audio/video from tv tuner and broadcast it to the client through web page , is this possible using JMF or should I use other strandards??
Can any one help me with tutorials or sample code about this subject ??
    thanks in advace

I read what you are developing very interesting project - we are also working on a similar project using speech to text and creating a video audio text search engine.
We would be happy to have you beta test what you are developing on our system.
We are planning on using Hauppauge PVR 2250 to capture in either analog and digital. We are planning to also get a hold of the SDK (Software Development Kit) for this board to help us do some of the modifications. This might be also something you need to think about.

  • ATI TV Tuner and Win XP with

I recently bought a used Gateway Shell PC from the local uni'versity and put my hardware in it. I can not get the sound card and tv tuner to work together with win xp. Prior to putting the components in the new computer housing, they worked with xp on a Dell with a slightly slower cpu. I know there is a problem with XP and the earlier SB Li've cards because I ran across an article when I installed on the Dell.
Can anyone point me in the right direction? I have been working with Microsoft, but they can't get it to work either.
Right now, I get sound from the tv aplication only if I turn the speaker knob up to full blast. Then the Microsoft sounds are SOOOO LOUD your ear drum bursts.
    Thank you for your help.

Check to see what audio output the TV software is using. Pretty sure you'll want Wave Out if you want the volume for the TV and Windows sound to be in sync.

  • Mac Pro 2010 with Ati 5870 - Mini Displayport Audio implementation

    Hi,
can anyone of you confirm that the Mini Displayports of the new Mac Pro really have an audio implementation?
    Does this really work?
By using an appropriated adapter, a connection of the Mac to an multichannel amp is possible?
    Chris

According to page 14 of the User's Guide:
The Mini DisplayPort outputs provide both video and audio output. For example, using a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter and an HDMI cable, you can connect your computer to an HDTV or AV receiver that has an HDMI connector and play both audio and video. You must use the Sound panel in System Preferences to select the connected device for audio output. For more information about connecting an HDMI device, search for “HDMI” on the Mac Pro Support page at ww.apple.com/support/macpro.

  • App that can tune TV audio tramsmitted over FM frequency at the gym?

I've been told third hand that there is an app that will do this, but not specifically which one that is. Can anyone tell me if there is an app that will do this?
    Thanks!

Never IMO - AM is so third world .... you have a better chance of streaming radio via an App and a local wifi node. Apple generally try to push technology forward, not retreat to the 1960's.
    Just IMO of course.

  • Radio hijacks my TV audio??

    NEw one!
I have an ATI TV tuner, and I am using a different program (powercinema) because I have on old rf remote (infrared won't work for me, no line of sight).
Whenever I switch on the tv, i get the picture, but the sound is the radio.  I can get the tv audio and sound if i start mc3 just fine, but that doesn't do me any good because i can't use the remote.  Does anyone know how the audio channels are set up?

Thanks to all for the great suggestions, here's a quick update:
It is not that there is no sound from the tv card, it will work just fine for a while, allowing me to switch between tv and radio with no problems. Eventually, I will lose the tv audio, and all that will happen when i start tv is that theradioo will play along with the tv picture, and if i mute and un-mute line in, nothing happens, so it's like the tv suddenly wants to use the aux channel.  This seems to happen when I open up the volume settings window, but I can't be sure.
My workaround is this: I uninstalled MC3 and msi radio, and I have found that powercinema will play the radio correctly. I really only listen to one station (and it's an AM station otherwise I would have RMA'd the 180 weeks ago, but it's the only thing going that will do AM without an ISA card) Powercinema is of course not capable of tuning am stations, so i turned off the pc, turned on hifi mode, and tuned it to the station i listen to.  Now, when i boot the pc, i can use the powercinema remote to switch on the radio.  The powercinema window will show an fm station, but it plays my am station.  All it really is doing is un-muting the aux channel, but it works.
This is acceptable until i decide it would be nice to have more than one station.  I don't miss mc3 (who does??), but I would like msi radio, so hopefully these new details will jog someone's imagination for some ideas.
otrofox, can you tell me where the audio connecter on the mobo is?  i might give that a shot.  i don't really have an use for 5.1 surround, the 180 is in my kitchen, and can just be a mono tv

  • How do I sync multiple audio clips to one video clip?

I have video (with stereo audio from a camera mic), and for each take, there are also four additional mono audio tracks that line up with it. It was footage shot outdoors in the city, so I guess the filmmakers just wanted to have as many options for sound mixing as possible given how much background noise there would be. I have tried selecting the video clip and the four audio clips at once and selecting "synchronize clips," but it doesn't work. It spits out a synchronized clip that seems to have converted two of the mono tracks into one stereo track... and then disregarded the remaining two mono tracks. It's a mess. It's likely someone else will fine tune the audio once I'm done cutting the video together... but I'd like to get all the audio tracks properly synced from the start. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Do you mean manual syncing? I've been reading this thread about workaround, which aren't working for me: http://forums.creativecow.net/thread/344/21236
But the question they are asking is the same one I am asking. Isn't this a typical situation, having multiple mics for one camera? For example, if someone filmed a concert with one camera but used both the camera audio, and ambient mic, and a mix from the board, then that would be 3 audio tracks with 1 video track. I'm in a similar situation, and I'm finding it hard to believe that FCPX isn't equipped to edit this way. There must be some way to get one video clip (with reference audio) to sync with four audio tracks.

  • How to make my computer send all the audio through optical audio cable instead of headphone jack?

    Howdy,
To listen to online radios or CD's played from my computer, I used to connect the computer to my home entertainment system from the computer's headphone jack to the AUX port on my home entertainment system.
I now wanted to get better sound and purchased the optical audio cable. However, I don't know how to tell my computer to send the audio signal to the home entertainmeny system through the optical digital cable rather than through the headphone jack. If I just unplug the cable connecting the headphone jack and the AUX port and only have the PC and the system connected with the optical audio cable, I don't hear any sounds. I suspect the computer isn't sending any data through the optical audio port. I'm not able to find how I can adjust the settings on my computer so that from now all sounds are output through the optical audio.
    1) I'd like to do that mainly for my HP desktop (configuration below) and any advice on how to do that would be appreciated.
    2) I also have a HP laptop (configuration below) and was wondering if that would be doable too (even though it doesn't appear to have a audio out, but it has HDMI out - can one convert it to optical audio?

    Hello @_goma,
Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I have read your post on how you are looking to make your computer send all the audio through an optical audio cable instead of the headphone jack, and I would be happy to assist you in this matter!
To configure your desktop to enable the optical audio cable, I recommend following the steps below:
Step 1. Click the Windows Key Button on your desktop
    Step 2. Type "Control Panel"
Step 3. Select "Control Panel" in the top right-hand corner
    Step 4. Select Sound
Step 5. Under the Playback tab, right-click the white area below the devices available
Step 6. Select "Show Disabled" and "Show Disconnected Devices"
Step 7. Connect your Optical Audio Cable
Step 8. Select your Optical Audio Cable as the default device and click "Enable"
Since it is not possible to convert the HDMI out to audio out on your notebook computer, it is unfortunate that the notebook is not able to connect with an optical audio cord.
Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, and I look forward to your reply!

  • I have audio working, but not the microphone on my toshiba satellite

Hi there, I'm a newbie to the arch way, but I'm not a newbie to linux, however I'm pretty stumped with this one (I'm not used to having to look after everything, but I'm loving it!) I have a Toshiba Satellite C650D-10W, and it has a very annoying soundcard built into it. I have the sound working, thankfully, however I cannot get the inbuilt mic to function. Some info here:

looks like we've got the same chipset.
one stupid pdf-file found on hp.com sais that the codec is ADI 1984AJCPZ High Definition CODEC, but I can't be sure...
i tried different model= parameters to snd-hda-intel module, but nothin helps
i can capture external jack-in microphone only if external jack-out is free (which is completely stupid for home audio studio experiencing)
internal phones are not mute automatically until jack-in freed (but i can easily mute them in alsamixer instead)
if anyone find a workaround or anything useful, please report here or use my contacts

  • HDMI Audio Vizio Television

    Hello,
I'm using a Vizio television as my monitor, connected to my computer via HDMI cable. The picture looks fantastic, however I cannot seem to get the audio to work. The problem here is most likely my lack of knowledge. I've tried the steps in the wiki under the ALSA page for HDMI output, but perhaps I'm not doing them correctly. I also tried adding "radeon.audio=1" to kernel in grubs menu.lst, but this doesn't seem to do anything either. Not really sure what I should be doing here. Thanks for any responses in advance!

I'm trying to use alsa, I have tried unmuting all the various devices with alsamixer as described in the beginner's guide, and I have tried the steps on the alsa page under hdmi output not working. I'm not sure I can run "udevadm monitor" because I'm using this television as my only monitor, this isn't a laptop or anything. Thank you.

  • Radeon audio codec problem

    hello everyone
i am new to arch and all wiki entries, threads, google and #archlinux didnt help me.
i want sound through hdmi, i am using a radeon 4550 (xf86-video-ati, R700 is in the feature matrix)
    some outputs:
lsmod only has things on snd-hda-intel, which is the onboard sound, i guess
    snd_hda_intel 36520 3
    snd_hda_codec 148129 2 snd_hda_codec_realtek,snd_hda_intel
    snd_pcm 77765 2 snd_hda_codec,snd_hda_intel
    snd_page_alloc 7234 2 snd_pcm,snd_hda_intel
    snd 59141 12 snd_hda_codec_realtek,snd_hwdep,snd_timer,snd_pcm,snd_hda_codec,snd_hda_intel
so aplay -l also only has
    card 0: VT82xx [HDA VIA VT82xx], device 0: ALC888 Analog [ALC888 Analog]
    Subdevices: 1/1
    Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
    card 0: VT82xx [HDA VIA VT82xx], device 1: ALC888 Digital [ALC888 Digital]
    Subdevices: 1/1
    Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
    but lspci shows
02:00.1 Audio device: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] RV710/730 HDMI Audio [Radeon HD 4000 series]
i think the problem shows up in dmesg|grep hda-intel
    [ 1.735291] hda-intel 0000:02:00.1: Handle VGA-switcheroo audio client
    [ 2.753347] hda-intel 0000:02:00.1: Codec #0 probe error; disabling it...
    [ 7.770071] hda-intel 0000:02:00.1: no codecs initialized
what does that mean and how can i fix it?

    m(, my fault

  • Fade to Black Without Affecting Audio

This seems like a painfully stupid/simple question but I can't figure out how to fade a clip to black whilst maintaining the same audio level. It seems apply fade to black also fades the audio.

    Hi
In older versions of iMovie - one Extracted Audio - then applied Transition - then fine tuned the audio.
In iMovie'09 and 11 - Extract Audio also works
Apple/File/Edit/Cut ---> Down here to 14:te row - Extract Audio or Separate Audio (iM'11)
    Then apply Transition
Then as the Rubberband function now is restored (in way off) - fine tune the Audio ends.
Not using iM'11 - this is mostly based on Guessing and looking/testing into iM'11.
(in iMovie HD6 and FinalCut this is much more in control)
Yours (Hope it works) Bengt W

  • Why is my audio is out of sync with my video on hd capture from sony camera

    My System
    Win 7 64 Bit
    Asus P5Q-E Motherboard
    4 GIGS DDR Patriot Ram
    Pentium quad 2.8
    Ati Video Card
    Onboard Audio
    CS3 Premiere And Encore
I have a Sony HVR Z series HD camera from sony.  I will capture a tape and it will be out of sync. I will then recapture and it may be in sync or not, this is really frustrating especially for music videos and weddings, actually a nightmare. I'm not quite sure as to the reason as it happens in Adobe Premiere cs3 and cs4. I have updated everything. Do you thing I need a 10000 RPM os system drive. Any help would be appreciated.
    Joan

I have 2 Sony HDR FX1 and 1 Sony HVR Z1U and it works great in both CS3 & CS4 so something is wrong with your setup or camera.
I only have a 7200 SATA drive for capture.
I dont know if a bad cable would cause this.
Harm has a couple other ways to capture that he says it keeps the audio in sync better but I have yet tried it but im sure from what I have read here that it works good.
Here is a link to his Tools Article.
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/504907
Here are those 2 capture ways:
    Capture
Scenalyzer: http://www.scenalyzer.com/main.html for capturing SD material
HDVSplit: http://strony.aster.pl/paviko/hdvsplit.htm for capturing HDV material
    Hope this helps:  Glenn
    EDIT:
I have an 5 year old system.
On Bills PPBM4 test you can see that I scored second to LAST on speed so even my system can capture fine.
    http://ppbm4.com/Benchmark.html
Take the test and see how your system is running.  It doesnt take to long.
