ATI Xpress 1250 Catalyst 9.3 Driver installation problem

I have an ATI Xpress 1250 Radeon integrated graphics card on my laptop.
The v9.4 drivers from the AUR crash my X and hangs with no keyboard/mouse interaction.
The ATI driver website said the card required the 9.3 drivers which when installing gave this error:

I'm not quite sure, but the ATI Xpress 1250 may have been dropped from the driver support list. AMD/ATI changed a few things there back one month or so.
Apart from this you should not try the driver from amd but test this one from aur:  http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=25105
Thank you!!
That was exactly what I wanted to know!
I was using the catalyst 9.4 drivers in the AUR and was searching for the legacy drivers from the AUR.
Thanks again! Will try and post the results.

    Hi
Problems to get 'drivers'/'driver updates' installed for your Li've! or other SB models on XP or W2k system?
If ctzapxx.exe method didn't work either for you, have you tried 'forced' driver installation yet? If not here is what you can do.
NOTE: THIS METHOD DOES NOT WORK W/ ALL DRIVER PACKAGES, BECAUSE OF THE USED INSTALLER IS NOT THE SAME (ctcomp.dat is not available on those)
    . download [url="http://members.aol.com/dvdking200/Pub/ctcomp.exe">this utility[/url]
    2. download driver package (or installation ISO/rip) you want to install and extract it to your HD (you can also install Audigy X drivers for your Li've! card if you like)
    3. run ctcomp.exe and point it to look from
    - ..\Audio\Setup -folder, found as a subfolder in folder you extracted the ISO/rip
    - 'main folder' (for. ex. AUD_EAX4DRV_0303) when you're installing driver update (data.cab must exist on that folder)
    4. press Patch button
    5. install your drivers by running setup.exe located
    - at same ..\Audio\Setup -folder when setting up from extracted ISO
    - at 'main' folder when you're installing driver update

The reason i said this should be a sticky is that these boards move so fast that its impossiable for new comers to keep up with threads that have AWESOME tips that may or may not help but how many of us have accually gone through every post in the last 60 days to try and find a fix? I know I have not, but in the end you need to try everything you can.
Something like this is not on the Creative FAQ data base so the only people to know about this possiable fix are the few who catch it in time.
In my experience there is ALWAYS more than way to do things and 0 ways to get it to work with 20 other methods to run it. Thats a lot of ways to do the one thing. So unless we have a huge data base with every possiable fix, method or forceiable way to do something then more and more people will get really upset that Creative offer no help.
Take the way Creative say to un-install drivers, man, this for the most part never works, so something like this may be the only way to get it to work for some people.
What I do is though, I copy a thread like this one and will pass it on to others if need be. Ofcause with all credit to the original poster and I never pass it off as my fix and/work.
I I like to cover every possiable aspect to do something. Ya know what i mean

  • SB X-Fi Driver Installation Problem (X-Fi does not install on Asus A8N-VM CSM

    Dear forum members,
I want to install Soundblaster X-Fi Xtreme on my Windows XP x64 Professional computer, but i am not able to succesfully finish 64bit X-Fi driver installation. Whether i use newer x64bit X-Fi beta driver or older official x64bit X-Fi driver, the installation of the driver stops at the end of the installation, when "CTDVINST.DLL" file is being installed and MY COMPUTER REBOOTS instantly. After the reboot, i am being asked to install Soundblaster X-Fi driver again and again. So all the X-Fi software installs well, but when i want to upgrade to x64bit drivers downloaded from Creative web site, the installation process reboots my computer right at the end of it, when "CTDVINST.DLL" file (it seems to be the last file in the driver package) is mentioned.
Help me please solve this problem, so that i can use my new Soundblaster X-Fi Xtreme on my computer soon.
    Thank you very much.

  • MSI - NX6800 GT driver installation problem

    Hello,
I've got a tricky problem, i'll try to give as much details as possible, so if i forget something, just ask =)
    My Configuration :
Motherboard : Asus A7n8X Deluxe (first version)
    CPU : Athlon XP 2400+
    RAM : 1.5Gb (DDR Ram)
    Graphic Card : MSI - NX6800 GT (256 Mb)
    Hard Drives : 80GB(Western Digital) and 250Gb(Hitachi)
Ok, i haven't put too many hardware informations because apparently the problem isnt coming from the hardware side.
First, i've been running with this configuration (just without the second hard drive), for a year and a half, on Windows 2000, and it's been working fairly fine. No problems detected.
i've acquired a second Hard Drive a few weeks ago (the 256 Gb one), so i've decided to put a fresh install of XP on it.
Installed XP without any problems, but it's while installing the drivers that the problem popped up.
I've installed Windows XP Professional on my newly acquired Hard Drive (the 250Gb one), and then tried to reinstall the latest NVidia Drivers for the Geforce.
I've first installed the drivers of the motherboard (1.16 from Asus), then i installed Direct X 9.0c, and i finally installed the latest Nvidia drivers for GFX Cards (91.31).
Unfortunately, right in the middle of the installation of these drivers, the screen switched to black, then went to sleep mode (like if there was no video output). Finally the computer reboots, and i have to use the latest working configuration to be able to go back to Windows XP again.
I've tried with different versions of the drivers for the motherboard and for the Geforce 6800 GT, but still the same problem.
So for now i'm still using only my first Hard Drive with Windows 2000 on it, till we find what to do to solve the problem. (and since it works on Windows 2000, the problem can only be a software one).
Thank you in advance for your help!
PS : Here is the detail of the 1.16 drivers from Asus :
This nForce WinXP driver package contains the below components:
    Audio driver 3.14 (WHQL'd)
    Audio utilities 3.07
    Network driver 2.81 (WHQL'd)
    GART driver 2.78 (WHQL'd)
    SMBus driver 2.75 (WHQL'd)
    Memory controller driver 2.75 (WHQL'd)
IDE driver 2.70 In The Box (WHQL'd)
    IDE driver 3.07 Full Driver
    Installer 3.11

I've already tried the Vid Card on another comp, and it works without any problems there.
I've been making an hypothesis, though the chance that its coming from that is very slim i think.
A bit more than a year ago, there was a storm(pretty violent and really near my house), and my comp was plugged on (though it was shut down). After that incident, 2 USB slots of my mobo were dead, along with one network card on it. But the rest was working fine. So i've been working if it couldnt have affected a bit the rest. I have no idea how it works whn installing new drivers, about the tests it does with the system and hte hardware. But if it tries to take full power on the vid card, it might be that. I dont know how i could verify that though.

  • Dv4-3106tx: Bluetooth driver installation problem

    Hi and good day,
Im having a problem with my integrated bluetooth. Before this everything works well until recently I cannot discover bluetooth device, send/receive file. And I confidently, uninstall the bluetooth driver from device manager with intention to reinstall it back using the driver included in C: drive.
However, the problem is when Windows keep install the driver with built in driver that comes with windows. I thought, ooh ok nevermind, I'll just run the setup and it will overwrite and use the Ralink/Motorola bluetooth driver instead.
But that's not the end. When I run the setup, I got this dialog
and I select "Yes, restart the computer now" and click on finish. Then the computer restart and relaunch the setup and again I got this same message again..again and again and again.
So I'm pretty much stuck now. Right now the bluetooth is installed with built in windows driver being used. But I cannot discover, send/receive file whatsoever.
    Any help is much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    This question was solved.

Oh my gosh. I'm completely forgot this thread.
Actually I managed to solve the bluetooth problem by:
    1. Getting the driver backup files from my friend. He's using same lappy with me. I asked him to backup the driver using Driver Magician software.
    2. I run the driver magician software and do the restoration. Then it requires a restart. Restart the computer
    3. Upon restart, I launched the bluetooth driver installation software and it manages to complete the installation without any problem.

  • ATI Driver installation problems

Okay, I uninstalled my 4.5 drivers, rebooted and tried to install my 4.6 latest Catalyst Drivers, when installing it said error display driver not installed.  Sure enough, it wasn't.  I then decided to use Driver Cleaner v2 to try and remove all previous driver information.  Rebooted and when I come to install Catalyst drivers 4.6 again and reboot again, it says when I get to the desktop control panel is not installed.  Checked add & remove via control panel and they are installed!  Help please!:smash:
checked Device Manager and it says This device cannot start. (Code 10)

ok, ATI drivers are A PAIN in the butt with windows XP.. you can uninstall drivers easy enough by going to add/remove programs and click "uninstall ATI display drivers"... but when windows XP reboots it auto installs the old ones again! i have had this a lot SO this is what i have done, and seems to work ok (although not a recommended way)
go to add/remove programs and unistall driver... you HAVE to uninstall ALL ATI stuff tho, like Hydravsion, and DEF the control panel..
after you have done al that, then install new CATA drivers (no reboot).. sometimes it gives you an error, sometimes not, but if it gives you error, reboot then and THEN windows will install new drivers from the file you've previously selected... try to DL the "bundle" package from ATI's site so it all installs at once..

  • 64-Bit Windows 7 Load Driver Installation Problem

I am new to Mac and have recently got my hands on a new 17" MBP.
The MBP is a 2011 model dating from about May.
Not wanting to step 100% away from Windows I want to install Windows 7 as well and run Mac OS.
I have tried installing Windows 7 32-Bit and it worked absolutely fine - no problems at all.
However, when I tried to install 64-Bit Windows 7 I ran into a problem very early on in the installation.
Before the part where you select the partition to install Windows on, I get a "Load Driver" message which reads:
"A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now."
I cannot eject the DVD to replace it with the Windows Support DVD that I burned (which I assume has the relevant drivers on), so I am a bit stuck.
I tried googling and a few people suggested burning the disk at a slower speed, which I did and it made no difference at all.
The fact that 32-Bit works lets me know I am doing things right, there must be something about the 64-Bit that the MBP doesn't like.
Any help much appreciated. I have 8GB RAM and would like to use it all with both Mac OS AND Windows so 64-Bit is preferred.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi guys,
I have exactly the same problem.
I have a macbook pro 15 late 2011 and I tried for hours to find a driver for superdrive but nothing at the moment...
If someone could help us it would be great

  • Graphic driver installation problems - Qosmio G20 PQG21

Attempting to install latest graphic driver (available on the toshiba u.k. site) produces an error message that file NV4_mini.sy is unreadable, although it is clearly there. Any ideas?
I've tried downloading several times and unzipping into various locations. Incidentally, do toshiba have any technical support at all, or is it left to their customers to provide it for each other for free - they don't seem to have any method of contact on their site?

Thanks for your suggestions, which I will try. In answer to your questions. The driver is the correct one according to Tosiba and the model ID is clearly marked on the underside of the laptop.
The problem appears to revolve around the installer's inability to recognise a required file although there is a file of the correct name in the download. It would be nice if Toshiba addressed thid issue - wouldn't it? I am aware of the installation procedure for .zip file downloads - the problem is not in this area.

  • Printer driver installation problems... ARRRRGGGHHH

I can't install the printer drivers for my two printers: a Canon MX860 and a Samsung ML2950 (OS 10.8.2 on a 2010 MacBook Pro).  In both cases I have downloaded the drivers and they have been installed to /Library/Printers/...  When I try to add the Canon printer, for example, the installer says "The selected printer software is available from Apple. Click Add to downoad it and add this printer."  I click "Add" and after several seconds get the message "Can't install the software for the Canon MX860 series because it is not currently available from the Software Update server."  When I select "Use: Select Printer Software..." the subsequent list is completely empty.  When I select "Use: Other.." I navigate to where the driver is - in this case "/Library/Printers/Canon/BJPrinter/PDEs/CanonIJPDE.bundle," select it, click "Open" and immediately I'm back to "The selected printer software is available..."  In other words, it ignores my selection.  EXACTLY the same thing happens with the Samsung.  This is very frustrating, to say the least.  *** is going on here?  The thing is, both printers were successfully installed before.  I removed them and am simply trying to reinstall them (don't ask why).  I've had numerous Macs over 12 years and I'm starting to hate them.

A couple of things to try. In the Print&Scan preference panel click in the window that lists the printers. Right-click (control-click) and select "Reset printing system." Then try to add the printers again.
You should not have downloaded and installed the printer drivers manually. That can screw things up. The location for drivers may have changed in Mountain Lion for all we know. All printer drivers should be installed only through the Print&Scan preference panel. All drivers are now supplied to Apple by the printer manufacturers and are customized for the OS they are being installed on. Just let the Print&Scan panel do its thing.

  • Officejet 4500 G510g-m | Windows 7 Driver Installation Problems

    Hello!
I've just purchased a new Acer Aspire One 722 laptop running on Windows 7 64-bit for work and I'm having some problems getting it to play nice with the all-in-one at work. The model is an Officejet 4500 G510g-m and though I still have the CD, it seems to be of little help. Whenever I run any of the HP diagnostic tools, they attempt to download the full software suite (I assume, since it's the same 373MB package) and extract it, only to go back to step one of discovering the device and starting the download all over again.
I have tried running the Solution Center installer directly from the disk, at which point I get the 2732 error. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Flash to attempt to circumvent that error to no success. I have downloaded both the basic and the full driver suite from the HP site and attempted installation multiple times, using the scrubber in between to ensure a clean slate. I've copied the files from the CD to my computer and tried to install more directly, with exactly the same results, yet the printer continues to show up as problematic under the "Printers and Devices" window, troubleshooting which just returns me to the endless cycle of downloading a driver that seems to not want to install.
At this point, I haven't the faintest clue what's causing the problem, so I'd greatly appreciate any insights!
Thanks for your time in advance.

  • 9171 driver installation problem with LV 8.5.1 and NIDAQ9.3

    Hello,
I just bought an NI9171 chassis with a NI9477 DO board after checking the compatibility (driver, LV version). Everything seems to be ok, but I can't manage to get the right driver installed within NIDAQ 9.3. I tried it with NIDAQ 9.4. Here the driver was installed properly and I could do some tests in MAX, but my DAQmx LabVIEW library was completely deleted during the installation of 9.4...Re-intsllation of NIDAQ9.3 brought back the DAQmx library, but the driver is not working anymore. One thought is to copy the library somewhere else and install 9.4 again....but in case this would work, it should not be the correct way to solve the problem. Could anyone tell me, if there is something wrong with the 9.3 readme or suggest a solution for that problem? Unfortunatly I have no SSP anymore and can't get direct support by NI ;-(
Here you can find the readme:
    http://download.ni.com/support/softlib//multifunction_daq/nidaqmx/9.3.0/readme.html#OS
    Thanks for any hint!

    Hi Olli,
Sorry for the inconvenience, however DAQmx 9.3 does not support 9171. This is error in our documentation. It was first supported in 9.4. However I do have a workaround for you. It involves installing DAQmx 9.4/9.5's core components with DAQmx 9.3 LabVIEW support:
    1) Uninstall all versions of DAQmx
    2) Install DAQmx 9.3 Full and reboot
    3) Run the DAQmx 9.4/9.5 installer
        a. Select Custom then click Next
         b. For "Application Development Support" select "Do not install this feature"
      c. Click through the next few menus until you get to "Start Installation." Make sure that Application Development Support is NOT under the Upgrading section
          d. Continue the install as normal and reboot.
    5) The DAQmx palette should be in LabVIEW 8.5.1
Please let me know if you have any question. Again I apologize for the error.

  • Hard drive installation problem, please help

I installed a new hard drive and get a prompt:
"No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key"
I then insert the Mac OS install disk 1 and press a key and nothing happens -- it stays at the above prompt. What do I need to do?

Try holding the "c" key while booting with the Mac OSX disc already in... I believe that's the key to boot from CD. Maybe it's changed but worth a try.

  • G3 B&W New Hard Drive Installation Problems

I got a G3 for free just recently and when I booted it up the question mark folder icon came up. So I figured the hard drive had entirely quit. I had a second drive that I had come across, loaded that into my G4 and cloned the G4's Hard Drive. I was also in need of the OS. Swapped out the hard drives, booted the G3 up and the same question mark folder icon came up. I am just curious if anyone has any good advice on how to upgrade this G3 to a new hard drive so I can try to get Tiger on it. My mother only uses a computer for iTunes and browsing the web so I should only need bare minimum requirements.
Also the board is a Rev 2.

The question mark comes up when your Mac cannot find:
    • the preferred OS version
    • of the preferred OS type
    • on the preferred Startup Disk
all these items are stored in the parameter RAM and Non-volatile RAM and preserved by an "always-on" 5 Volt power supply that works whenever there is AC power, even if the Mac is nominally off.
When there is no AC power, a 3.6 Volt 1/2 AA battery supplies backup power. When that also goes too low, parameter corruption can cause the exact symptoms you describe even if the Hard Drive is perfectly fine.
Reset the PRAM using the tiny button on the motherboard near the battery. Hold the button for a quarter minute, then wait at least five seconds before doing anything else. Avoid momentary presses. You will probably need a new battery. Any drop in AC power after the reset and before you replace the battery will send you right back to were you were (or worse). Also, after replacing the battery, you will need to do the reset again.

  • Solid State Hard Drive Installation Problem

Hi, I am trying to install an Intel 520 series 480GB SSD into my late 2008 MacBook Pro. I am running OS X 10.8.3. I used Super Duper to make a bootable copy of my primary disk and installed the intel drive correctly. When I boot from my external drive, I am queried about a hard drive I need to "initialize" which opens Disk Utility when I click it. It appears the drive is completely recognized by the system. I am trying to partition the new internal drive into a single partition in the GUID Partition Table so that I can use Super Duper to transfer my HD contents back.
The problem I encounter at this step is an error message that says "Partition failed - Partition failed with the error: Couldn't Open Device."
Does anybody have thoughts about what might be causing this or what I can do to fix it? The hard drive is brand new out the box, so I believe it should be working appropriately. Thank you!

Never mind, the hard drive magically initiated after several restarts. Almost like it needed to be primed like a pump. Now this darn negotiated link speed issue....
