Ati2dvag issue on Satellite M70 - blue screen error

Hello im hoping some one can help me with these problems that i have. Well from one day to start my computer I no longer start it in normal, and have to use safe mode, the computer changes the display on its own and it goes down to 16 bit colours, when i restart my computer hanging unless I boot it as safe mode and then other times i get the black screen saying that i can choose form safe mode etc. When i load up form safe mode it starts straight away and then i restart to go back into normal mode it hanging at black screen, but if i dont go into safe mode it takes ages to boot up.The blue screen that comes up says the following......
The device driver got stuck in a infinate loop. This usually indicates problems with the device itself or with the device driver programming the hardware incorrectly.
Please check with your hardware device vendor for any driver updates.
STOP:0x000000EA (0x86605C38,0x866563B0,0xF7CA2CB4,0x00000001)
ati2dvag
Beginning dump of physical memory.
Physical memory dump complete.
My laptop is Satellite M70, XP Home SP2. Video card is ATI X700.
I tried uninstalling Display driver, no help. I even tried formating HDD and reinstalled XP home with recovery by recovery DVD, even worse, I cannot even finish recovery process, it is always hanging when Start Windows, then same blue screen... Plus as soon as load windows xp, the display has very low resolution with many vertical lines evenly spread on screen...

Unfortunately, I think you have to return your notebook to the service point.
> The device driver got stuck in a infinite loop
For me it sounds like a corrupt graphic card.
I think there is no much to do and you have to ask for the technician help.

  • Satellite A200 - Blue Screen error when trying to open HWSetup

    Hi,
I get a Windows Blue Screen error whenever I try to open HWSetup or access the Toshiba Flash Card using the Fn key.
Any ideas how to solve this?
    Cheers!

    Hello
The error message invalid serial number occurs if you try to install a software that is not designed for this notebook. Maybe you did download the HWsetup for an other notebook.
    Check this!

  • Satellite A10: blue screen error: 'kernel_inpage_data_error'

When I turn my laptop on, it works fine for a bit and then after a while (usually when i do an antivirus check) a blue screen appears saying 'windows xp was shut down because the file 'kernel_inpage_data_error' is not functioning or something'.
This error keeps on occuring. So I used the recovery disks to reinstall XP but the same error appeard again. And when I installed Xp again, it asks me to register & when I fill in my information it says 'we will call a telephone to register you' but then it says theres no dialtone.
I use broadband and xp doesn't ansk me what type of internet I use. It doesn't ask me at any point to enter my xp serial number. Does this mean im can't get automatic updates anymore or it's just that I am not registered yet?
How can I register? The laptop belonged to someone else before and things were registered in his account before. I would be glad if someone could kindly help me out.
    cheers

    Hi
First of all, on the Toshiba recovery CD you will find a OS image which is always activated and it's not possible or necessary to activate or to put any key.
Secondly I have found this Microsoft page which describes this error message:
    http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=315266
On this page you will find a information that it's possible that the master boot record is infected with a virus.
I don??t have any experience with "master boot record viruses" but maybe the whole HDD formatting will delete it. However, this is only a suggestion.
If you are not able to solve this issue by yourself you should ask the Toshiba service for the help.

  • Satellite M30: Blue screen error - how to diagnose what it is?

I have a hardware problem but I am not sure of the exact nature. Although I looks like the hard drive or something communicating to it.
Some two weeks ago I started to notice performance problems when loading something from the internal hard drive: overall function of the computer (like mouse cursor movement, mp3 playback) became hampered when the harddisk was loading (saving was less of a problem).
This was NOT the case when loading data or executing programs from an external usb harddrive. Today I got a blue screen informing me that this crash was probably due to new hardware or software, followed by a physical memory dump and a harsh shutdown. I rebooted the computer, but got the same problem after the login screen.
Trying to start it up in safe mode didn't work either and after a couple of tries it never got to the login screen anymore -- a few seconds after boot start there was a flash of a blue screen followed by an immediate shutdown.
Anyway, I used the product recovery dvd-rom but the problem is still there, i.e. I can boot now but I get the same blue screen every hour at least (seems to correlate with usage).
Instead of running off to buy a new harddrive I want to be sure that that is the (only) problem, and not some motherboard issue or what have you.
Hence my question: how can I diagnose what's wrong with my notebook?

Generally the best way is if you have a friend with the exact same portable. You can then take out your ram, and try it in their notebook, and try their ram in yours. If the problem persists on their computer, and yours boots up, its the ram. If not, the ram is fine. Then do the same with the HDD, again, if the problem doesnt happen on your computer, but happens on theirs, the HDD is bad, if not, your either down to CPU or Motherboard. A general overheating CPU goes into protection mode and automatically shuts the computer off. You dont get an error with overheating. But if the CPU has problems processing information it can generate blue screens. One sure way to find out if the CPU is defective is to continously reboot the computer and note the blue screen STOP error. If it remains the same constantly, then it is likely not the CPU, but the Motherboard. If it constantly changes from one error to the next, and generates 3 or 4 different errors, then you likely have a bad CPU.

  • Satellite L675D: Blue Screen error after upgrading to Windows 8

    Hello,
I've recently upgraded my Toshiba laptop to Windows 8 and every time I use it, after 5-10 minutes, I get a blue screen page of error and the laptop restarts.
    The problem is really annoying.
I've discovered that if I don't plug in the battery charger, the laptop works normally, but I'd like to solve the problem properly.
    What should I do?

    > I've installed Windows 8 Pro with a regular activation key: I had Windows 7 before and I simply updated it to Windows 8. >I don't know about the drivers.. I think that may be the problem, but I also reckon the drivers are ok! Do you know a good way to check it out? Or where I can find the proper drivers?
Windows 8 drivers for Satellite L675D dont exist on Toshiba EU driver page. The L675D series does not support Windows 8.
However, even if the drivers are not available and Windows 8 is not supported, it should not be a big problem to run this system on the Satellite L675D.
You said that you simply updated the Win 7 to Win 8.
Maybe you should try a clean installation of Windows 8?
I think its worth a try in case its an software problem.
By the way: I assume this kind of problem did not appear using Windows 7. Right?

  • Satellite M70 - blue screen during the WinXP installation

    hi
I bought a new M70 with Win XP HOME installed on it!
but i want to install my Win XP PROFESSIONAL on the notebook.
So i put in the WinXPpro-CD and boot from CD/DVD-Drive.
The first blue screen with some information in the bottom grey line come, and every thing looks good, but the screen with the options on which drive i will install the windos-OS did NOT COME!
I only have a black screen and nothing happens!?
The WinXPpro-CD is ok i checked it on other PCs.
hope you can help me soon
    thx Houddy

    HI
The OEM version of XP you use is simply incompatible with you chipset (SATA), so the installation hangs.
You need to find or create a copy of the XPP CD with OEM drivers for tou SATA chipset, but it's quite difficult to do.
Another solution is to use a floppy with the drivers for your chipset (you can include theses drivers by pressing F6 in the beginning of the setup (third party drivers)
The files for the floppy may be found in the website of the chipset provider

  • Satellite L505-13W shows Blue screen error

My laptop SATELLITE L505-13W Shows blue screen error.
The os gets booted up and after some time it shows a blue screen error and restarts.
On restart it asks for repair, even after succesfull repair it showed the same error.
So i tried to recover using the recovery cd but it proved to be a tragedy.
It eraced my full HDD to stone age and smiled at me saying recovery is not possible.
    please help me.......

    Hi
If the notebook cannot be recovered using the recovery disk, then all this smells like hardware problem.
Are you sure that your recovery disk is OK?
Did you try to install the OS using other installation disk?
Maybe this would be useful to check if the issue might be related to the faulty recovery disk but if the BSOD (blue screen of death) appeared before the OS installation, then I would say the issue might be caused by internal hardware malfunction
It would be necessary to check the RAM modules and the HDD.
HDD can be checked using the HDD diagnostic software like Drive Fitness Test (freeware)
RAM could be checked using a tools like memtest but you need a running systemso in this case you cannot check the RAM using a software I recommend removing one module and testing the notebook using one module in each slot

  • Blue screen error message on Satellite Pro A10

    Hi,
I'm trying to help my inlaws with their Satellite Pro SPA10. I had set this up for them a few months ago and it was running really well.
Now it restarts about two seconds past the "use last good configuration" etc. screen, gets to this screen again then restarts immediately ad infinitum, never pausing on the error mesage for long enough to see what it says.
I managed to get it to boot from the windows XP home disc and got as far as the repair or continue with installation screen. When I asked the computer to do either it crashes to blue screen almost immediately. The error message is
    *** STOP: 0x000000c5 (0x00000000, 0x00000002, 0x00000001, 0x8082B98B)
This is beyond my level of expertise, can anyone help?
    Thanks

Hi Mike thank you for replying,
I am not able to start the computer in safe mode, safe mode with networking, last good known configuration etc, Each time it quickly blue screens and restarts about two secs into the process.
I was unable to try a clean OS install from the disk as it gave the blue screen error shown in the original post. The same thing happened when I tried to use the repair option on the XP home disc. So i can't get into the computer at all to start diagnosing the fault, the only clue I have is the error message, and after searching the internet I haven't found much enlightenment from that yet.
If you can help me out or suggest where to search it would be much appreciated.
    Thx

today laptop produced a Microsoft error message (Didn't see what it was) and it said to restart laptop.
On restart blue screen error message appeared. 0x00008086

    Hi
Did you get this BSOD only once as yet?
Maybe its just a driver issue so check the device manager for any problems.
Normally BSODs are related to RAM or HDD. You can test both components using a special test tools like Memtest86 and Drive Fitness Test. You can use Google to find both freeware programs.

  • Blue Screen Error on Satellite A100-920 (PSAA9)

    Hi
I had a blue screen error during normal use and after restart, Windows suggested updating the BIOS, so I updated it with the latest version (5.10). The next day, I got another blue screen and on restart, Windows suggested I update my display drivers, which I did (to ver. 8.241)... I have an ATI Radeon X1400 GPU. After doing that, the computer crashed every time it loaded windows, with a popup about services.exe telling me the computer would turn off in 60 seconds.
I assumed this was related to the display driver, so I replaced the drivers with an earlier-dated version (8.241-034065C). After I did this, it seemed to work and I could use the computer fine for a bit, even play games such as GTA but i am starting to get the blue screens again, usually just when opening folders, etc and not when running graphics-heavy applications. The problem definitely goes away when I disable my display drivers, but that's not much of a solution.
I turned off the reboot on error setting and this is the information from the blue screen of death:
    *** STOP: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005,0xEE6DF5E9,0xBAD2F99C,0x00000000)
    *** system32:huy32.sys - Address EE6DF5E9 base at EE6DD000, Datestamp 45abe717
Does anyone have any idea how I can sort this problem, it's driving me crazy!
I have downloaded the Omega drivers for the card, but am slow to install them as I hear they can cause overheating and I think ATI/Toshiba should be able to provide me with a solution without me having to use third party drivers.

I have Network Associates (McAfee) v. Enterprise 8. I ran a full virus scan with this and windows defender and a worm stinger utility and another microsoft app whose name I forget... all came up clean.
I tried the omega drivers out of frustration and they cause services.exe to terminate.
Could it possibly be a BIOS issue? I'm not sure how likely it is, since the computer definitely works with the display adapter enabled and will usually crash (BSOD) after anything from a few mins to a few hours with it enabled. I seem to be getting two types of reply from microsoft on restart, one saying there is a general driver fault and one saying there is a display driver fault and suggesting updating the display drivers.

  • Satellite P20-771: Blue screen error message after OS reinstalling

    I have a laptop Satellite P20-771 / Pentium 4 3.40GHz (800/HTT) / XP Home/ 17' with nVidia Geo5700 driver.
As I had some problems with software, and I reinstalled everything using the provided CDs. Unfortunately the computer keeps malfunctioning giving me blue screen errors, that are due (this comes out when I sumbit the error to Microsoft) to device drivers. I updated everything (I hope) from the Toshiba page, but I am not an expert and I am worried that I missed something or that something has not been loaded in the right order or that the setting are incorrect.
Thank in advance for your help
    Roberto

    Hello
I have also P20 (red one) and have never had any problem after using provided recovery media. According to your posting there must be two possible reasons for blue screen:
    1. you have installed some additional software that causes bluescreen or
    2. there is some hardware component responsible for that (new memory module or maybe some external device connected to the unit)
Sorry but I dont see any other reason. On this way it is not easy to give precise answer and we can just speculate why this happen.

  • A blue screen error and suddenly shutdown on my Sat M70

i have a M70 laptop i buy it just 3 weeks ago. i start facing the following problems
    - system exhibit blue screen with an error message that i do not understand ( ) just when i slightly move my laptop or even when just changing the screen angle!!!!!!!!!!!! ( sometimes with a stange noise from the right highspeaker)
    - sometimes the screen shutdown but the system is usually running ( i can hear noise and LED is brightning)
i am recognizing your help and interest

    Hi
Usually if the Blue Screen error message occurs, so it could be a serious software fault or a hardware malfunction.
There is no generally solution for this problem. In my opinion you should check, if the software is responsible for this malfunction.
Try to install new OS or recover the unit with the delivered recovery CD.
Maybe this will solve the problems.
If not so it must be something wrong with the hardware. You should contact the Toshiba service. He can run some diagnostic test and you will get a detailed answer what its wrong.

  • Satellite A300D-1EI - blue screen error - display drivers had failed

I 've bought my laptop a month ago.
Everything is working great except two "blue screen" errors caused by the graphics card.
Both were when the laptop was connected with TV through S-video port.
First was when the laptop display turned off after 15 minutes while watching a movie, on resume said that display drivers had failed and then I got the blue screen. Then I updated the display drivers from ATI's website and set the laptop display not to turn off.
All were ok with no problems, until last night when I got another message that display drivers had failed followed by a blue screen.
I am wondering if this is a driver's problem or is something wrong with my graphics card.
    System Info:
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T8400 @ 2.26 GHz
    Memory (RAM): 3.00 GB
System Type: 32-bit Windows Vista Home Premium
Display Adapter: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470

So long you use ATI driver from ATI support page there is no possibility to say anything about it.
This driver is not tested and Toshiba cannot offer any help about it.
So what you can do is to install OS again using recovery media and see what will happen in the future. Please test it intensively with clean preinstalled operating system. Don't install anything that can have some negative influence to this game or additional applications, codecs or something similar.
Test it please and let us know if the problem persists.
When you want to watch movies on TV at first switch to the TV and then start DVD player.
