Atmosphere and V Stack???
I had Atmosphere installed on my PC using Cubase. I know that lot of guys have trouble running it in Logic 8 on intel macs. Been using the Macbook pro with Logic 8 for a couple of mnths now and managed to install it on my mac as well. Spectrasonic website says that one is likely to experience loud clicks and pops on logic 8 with the new mac intel wrapper. It says that one of the solutions is to install and run Atmosphere on another machine using the V- Stack. Now am not sure exactly how i should do this and how it will work. Can somebody please tell me how to go about it? ( Midi/Audio connections etc.) Thanks in advance.
Nobody? bump.

Whats the use of an ABAP and Java Stacks in XI? What exactly they are doing for XI?
Thanks.Hi,
Tha ABAP stack consists of the Integration Server which in turn contains your Integration Engine and Business Process Engine.
The J2EE stack contains the Adapter Engine and your IR and ID run on the J2EE engine.
Ever wondered how and where the XI pipeline gets executed? It happens in the ABAP stack.
All messsages picked by the Adapter Framework running on the J2EE engine are passed to the Integration Engine, which does the routing. The mapping program again gets executed on the Java stack and the rest of the pipeline servies are executed again on the ABAP stack and so on.
Take a look at the XI overview doc to understand this better,

THis error was gone when I used the registry cleaner for removing ABAp stack But now question is How do I install BOTH????
May be the instance number is the problem....
In old version of ABap stack we can enter the instance number .But not in SP 9 .Can we change here too?

This file holds the Key of the errors since it checks for the instance number which is given in the log as details.. May be we can change it....
In ABap STack install instead of files as in SP 07 they have created an image and may be this si the reason that
we cannot customize.I have to find a way in order to install it...i found soltuion myslef THe lates WAS for abap is preconfigured and so its not suitable for abap-java multiple installation

PI Pipeline Doubt : Pipeline Steps in ABAP stack and JAVA stack
Hello
Can anyone please assist me with which stages steps of the PI Pipeline are executed on the Java or the ABAP stack.
Receiver Determination
Interface Determination
Message Split
Message Mapping
Technical routing

Also can anyone please provide links relating to the PI architecture diagram describing it from ABAP and Java Stack Perspective and not from the Components perspective i.e. Integration Repository and Directory.
Thanks.

ABAP STACK and JAVA STACK certificates
Hi Fiends,
I have requirement in which I want to use HTTP adapter to send message and apply security certificate. I got from sdn that if I wan to use http adapter with certificate than I have to install certificates in ABAP stack.
My problem is I had one scenario in which I am using BC adapter to send message with security certificate and for that I had applied certificates in java stack and its working properly.
My question is,
Is it possible to use Java Stack and ABAP STACK together..?
I mean is it possible to implement both of the above scenario in same xi system?Hi Soni,
You cannot use the same certifcates wihch you installed in Java stack with abap stack. You need to install separealy on teh abap stack.
For HTTP communication you dont need to install certificates. You only need when you want to use HTTPS communication. So if you want to use HTTPS communication and want to use SOAP adapter then you can use ther certifcates which is already installed on java stack. But if you want to use HTTP adapter then you need to install in ABAP stack.
Please see this hlep on how to install on the java stack and the process behind it:
http://www.i-barile.it/SDN/EnablingSSL&ClientCertificatesOnTheSAPJ2EEEngine.pdf

Hi Experts,
i am now confused about these two stacks: Java Stack and ABAP Stack.
for IR objects, like DT, MT, SI, MM, SM, Action, Process Integration Scenario
for ID objects, like profile agreements, receiver determination, interface determination,
1. where are these objects stored in? Java or ABAP stack?
and i know Adapter Engine is run on JAVA Stack while Integration Engine is on ABAP Stack.
2. how do they call the objects stored in different stack during processing?Hi,
1. where are these objects stored in? Java or ABAP stack?
These objects are basically developed on the JAVA stack, when they are activated their runtime version is created on ABAP stack, which you can check in SXI_CACHE transaction.
2. how do they call the objects stored in different stack during processing?
Runtime versions of these objects are responsible for the execution of the interfaces.

Errror in RFC connection between SCM ABAP stack and JAVA Stack
Hi All
we have installed SCM Abap stack and SCM java stack on same system within single database.when i create rfc connection AI_RUNTIME_JCOSERVER from SCM Java stack to SCM Abap Stack its working fine, but when i am configuring same from SCM Abap to SCM Java using SM59 its giving error.

Is it compulsory to create RFC connection between abap and java installed on the same system.
plese suggest.
Regardsto configure acceptance of the ABAP (integrated ITS / WebGUI) saplogonticket on the java stack, just log into the java stack (http://FQDN:50xxx/nwa) and select configuration THe last item in the list is Trusted System... click.
on the ensuing page, click on the add trusted system button --> by querying trusted sytem.
Enter the required data on the page:
system type: ABAP
host name: FQDN
System Nr: your instance number
client (of the productive client)
and a username and pw with superuser priveliges in the system (SAP_ALL/SAP_NEW, etc).
the click next
On the final screen, click finish.
You have now SSO setup between the ABAP and Java stacks. To configure SSO to accept java saplogontickets on ABAP see:

How is the interface between the Java Stack and ABAP stack is achieved?
How is the interface between the Java Stack and ABAP stack is achieved?..Please send me the answer to [email protected]
Hi,
By interface, I assume you mean the connection between the ABAP and the Java stacks in a double stack system.
The connection from Java to ABAP is through JCo connections defined in the WebDynpro section of the J2EE start page. So Java to ABAP requests are processed through JCo.
The connection from ABAP to Java is through RFC connections defined in TA SM59. The ABAP to Java requests are processed through RFC.
Refer https://dsd.esco-salt.com/StartPage/documents/integration/3.html for detailed explanation.
The UME can be maintained in either ABAP or in JAVA depending on the persistence.
Refer: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/5b/5d2706ebc04e4d98036f2e1dcfd47d/frameset.htm
Check UME data source configuration.

Doubt about JAVA stack and ABAP Stack
Good day!
Hope can help me with my next doubt. I understood that BI JAVA or JAVA has been embedded in the Java support package stack for portal. But for BI7 the installation for JAVA is by sps. We only use pure support package for BI7, we don't use support package stacks and we don't use JAVA. I'm not sure because i don't made the sap installation in our enterprise, how can i be sure if we have installed java in BI7 and if we don´t have installed, should I install Java in our sap system? what are the benefits and consequences if I decide install it? and what is the difference about BI java (portals) and JAVA stack for BI7?
I try to find some information but I found some information about bi Java for portals, but not for BI.
Ramón SánchezHai,
BI-7.0,JAVA:BI-Java is used to provide the Java runtime for scenarios such as Enterprise Reporting, Query, and Analysis as well as Business Planning and Analytical Services.BI-Java requires AS Java and Enterprise Portal Core and EP in the same system. Optionally, you can combin with other usage types in one system. Usually, scenarios running on usage type BI-Java also require usage types BI and AS ABAP. While installing BI-Java, AS Java, EPC and EP get installed automatically. Usually, when running on usage type BI-Java also require usage types BI and AS ABAP, you should be aware that no matter if you run BI and BI-Java in the same or in separate systems, both BI and BI -JAVA should be kept in sync in terms of Support Package Stacks.
BW 7.0 is now called as BI 7.0. There are many differences between them in areas like extraction, EDW, reporting, analysis administration, etc.,
http://www.ittestpapers.com/articles/987/2/SAP-BI-70-Features/Page2.html
Advantage of having Double stack Instance: Where AS ABAP provides the complete technology and infrastructure to run ABAP applications and AS JAVA provides Java Enterprise Edition environment for developing and running Java programs.

Installing Java Stack and Abap Stack, same machine.
Hi all:
Does anybody installed Java Stack and Abap Stack on the same machine?
I installed ABAP stack first, and am trying now to install Java stack but it seems like at the end of the process, ABAP stack. (is not working now).
Any idea? Not sure about installing both as I haven't tried either!
Anyway, in theory if the SIDs and instance numbers are completely different, then you should be OK. If you ahev the same SID or instance number, I can see possible problems,
Portal only runs on Java, so in theory any Java system will be OK. NWDW would be a good choice. -

Problems with MiniSAP-Installation JAVA and ABAP Stack
Hi,
I am a freelance SAP application developer had bought the book and SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe, in order to incorporate me into the topic. In chapter 3, the installation and configuration of an exercise Systemes is described so that you can perform the practical part. I downloaded at the website mentioned the installation files and have performed the installation as described in the book. I have also stopped the service as described in SAP DB WWW.
The installation of the JAVA section runs smoothly and is operational after the installation. The ABAP part crashes, however. According to my research, it is because the ABAP part is also intends to install a MAXDB, although the Java-part has realized this already. Anyone know what I need to do, so I only described as the application server of the ABAP part of getting installed and not again the MAXDB.
RegardsHello Reza,
Just to clarify, Best practise is to update your kernel to the latest before you start patching in your system.
So download SAPEXE.SAR (Database independent kernel package), SAPEXEDB (Database dependent kernel package) and IGSEXE.SAR (IGS Package) from the SMP. kernel is dependent on your operating system and database and therefore make sure you download the right package otherwise you'll end up in messing up the system.
follow SAPnote # 19466 for help.
Once you are done with the kernel update then patch you Abap stack by SPAM and JAva stack by JSPM.
I hope that makes things clear.
Best Regards
NIraj
