Atomic Web Browser - Lost Bookmarks

I've been using this browser for a while now and I've more or less fallen in love with it. The tabs are much more Chrome-ish than in Safari (making them 100 000 times better in my book) and it really seems designed around the touch-screen interface. I did notice some slight bugs and even a few crashes, but this was only when I would try and open 15+ Tabs supimultaneously.
Just today though, I don't know what I did, the browser went and deleted all the bookmarks I had put on it. I couldn't find anyway to transfer my desktop bookmarks from Chrome, so I had to do it the old fashioned way, one at a time... I hadn't assembled my entire collection, but I had a working set of resources going. And then this happens! It's very frustrating because I don't know if he might go and do it again.
I was playing with the privacy and password settings. I gave it a try, thinking it would be cool, but I decided to remove it after a while. Imputing a code every time I open the app was getting annoying. And right after I did, all my bookmarks were gone. The strangest this is that I tried to reproduce the effect (to make sure it was the password or privacy settings that did this) but the bookmarks stay fine this time! I have no idea what caused it.
Has this ever happened to anyone else?

  • Atomic Web Browser -- How to set as preferred browser instead of Safari?

I recently installed the Atomic Web Browser on my iPad.  However, whenever I tap on a link outside this app (in an email, for example), the Safari browser is activated.  Is there a way to make the Atomic Browser the preferred browser so this won't happen?
    Thanks in advance!

Not at the moment no, there is no way to change it from Safari. You can try leaving feedback and maybe it'll happen in a future release : http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html

  • RichTech's Atomic Web Browser Missing From The App Store

Can anyone please check and see if they are able to locate and download this alternative browser on their iPad? I'm with a friend and we were trying to load apps on their new iPad and if you click on an outside link or try to search for it you get no results. It's like it's missing from the App store entirely.

Looks like Atomic Web browser was pulled from the App Store due to the use of private APIs in violation of Apple's policy:

When you select the search box, one of the options in the popup below it should be Search Current Webpage - highlight that, type in your text, and then press the 'search' button on the keyboard. You should then get Next, Previous, and Close buttons at the top of the screen

  • Web browser with bookmarks

Hello, I am new to programming and have followed several tutorials on programming a web browser using xcode. So far I have a history menu, a google search, and a url field, and a home button that brings you back to the default homepage. I would now like to implement a bookmarks menu in the menu bar. For the ability to store bookmarks. seeing as how i am new, I have no idea about how to go about doing this. Could someone please either post the code for this feature, or either lead me to a tutorial or give me instruction on how to do this. Than you, any help is greatly appreciated.

The following quotation from iOS: How to transfer or sync content to your computer may have the explanation. (It isn't available on the Info tab on iTunes on my Mac computer running OS X 10.9 either.)
You can sync bookmarks between your computer and your iOS device. When syncing is enabled, all bookmarks will sync. You can sync bookmarks with the following apps:
Safari (OS X Mountain Lion v10.8 or earlier)
Safari for Windows (Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7)
    Microsoft Internet Explorer
It may be that the only currently supported method for some versions is via iCloud. https://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/

Hi all, I am new to here.
I'm doing my final project, which I have to develop a
web browser, with some website unaccessable, like
porn site. You need to develop a browser? Isn't that a bit too much work for 1 person?
I have totally no idea on how to do this on my
browser (somemore my browser is not running
properly).Uh, you finished your browser already? Well then the hard part is done.
Got people told me that I can store those
banned website's URL in a text file, then read from
there and compare to the Address bar, if same then
block that website. That would be quite a bit of work. An easier approach would be to block addresses based on words appearing in them.

  • How do I backup web browser prefs, bookmarks, and cookies?

I've got the hang of backing up files to an external hard drive. Not too complicated.
This weekend I'm installing a new hard drive so I've got to rebuild my desktop from scratch and re-import all my files from my external drive.
I use Firefox and I'm loaded up with bookmarks, preferences, and cookies for all kinds of sites I visit like Amazon.
Can all this be backed up just like files and folders? How do I backup bookmarks, preferences? And can cookies even BE backed up? Or do I have to re-enter passwords and such to all these sites I visit and start from scratch?

Hi, John. I have no experience using SuperDuper to make anything but a bootable clone, so I can't advise you on the ins and outs of using sparseimages. The one thing I would caution you about is that a sparseimage combines everything that's included in it into a single file, and if that file somehow gets corrupted and won't open, the contents may all be lost.
The great advantage of a regular clone over any other backup method, even when you aren't going to clone it back to your internal drive, is that every file in the clone is exactly where it was on the original: you don't have to keep track of where to copy each file back to. Just drag-copy it from wherever it is on the clone to exactly the same place on the reconstructed-from-scratch internal drive. But in the four years I've been using OS X, I haven't tried the kind of manual, piece-by piece restoration of essential data from a backup that you're contemplating, and I don't know what obstacles you may run into. My guess is that incorrect permissions will figure largely in whatever trouble you encounter, but permissions are still a dark mystery to me: I'll be no help to anyone with a permissions problem.

  • Safari, a1, or atomic web browser??

Safari is a great browser on the iPad, but I was beginning to read about a1 browser which just came out and even an older one called atomic. I tried the atomic lite version and really thought it was interesting since I am a big "tab" user on my pc and Mac. the two features I am looking for in a browser is 1) to post a link from the browser to Facebook and Twitter etc... 2) tabs
Have you tried any browser beyond safari? If so, which one and what do you prefer? Also, are these the only choices we have so far or do you know of any other browser?

iCab looks promising. It has tabs (and there's also a Mac versions).

  • How do I organize or sort nokia web browser's book...

How do I organize or sort nokia web browser's bookmarks? There are quite many bookmarked pages and scrolling through them is a pain, because they are sorted by oldest to newest. How bookmarks can be sorted alphabetically?
    Thanks

I have a bookmark.html file stored on my memory card and then use that as my start page. I have the following in
    Settings > general > homepage
    file://E:/Documents/bookmarks.html
That way you can have any order you want.
If you use the normal bookmark feature, just type a couple of leading letters in the search window and all previous matches filter through.
The home-made bookmark method will not work with Opera mini.

Thank you so much for this. I contacted 2 tech support "specialists" via chat. Neither one of them could help me out with this after keeping me for over 20 minutes. One of them kept suggesting I do a partial erase, just for that one HP WebOS Touchpad bookmark.

  • [Bug] Web Browser - Cannot edit or delete bookmarks

There is a bug in webOS 2.0 where if you start your new Pre 2 using an existing Palm account with settings being ported over from a previous Pre Plus with 1.4.5, it will not allow you to edit or delete bookmarks in the web browser when going to "Bookmarks" from the drop down menu in the main bookmarks tile screen.
To fix, you have to clear the bookmarks and start over

  • I need an Ipad app web browser that will emulate internet explorer as my MLS real estate system only uses internet explorer.  Why is Atomic full version not available in the app store  is there another browser that will do this

I need an iPad app web browser that will emulate internet explorer as my MLS real estate system uses only internet explorer.  Why does Atomic no longer sell the full verison.  What web browser can I use?

Probably none. It's very possible that the reason the MLS required Internet Explorer is that they use technologies (such as Active-X) that are proprietary to Microsoft and so would not be available from the iPad even if a browser will report itself as being Internet Explorer.
You can try iCab Mobile, though, and see if it will work for you:
    http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/icab-mobile-web-browser/id308111628?mt=8
It has the ability to identify itself as other browsers, so if the site is only blocking other browsers and not depending on IE's technology, iCab might work. There could be problems, though, even if the site lets you in.
    Hope this helps.
