Why are we still with ATT their service sucks. I have internet issues private messaged them got a response relpied back and have had a response back in 5 days!! 

It would not matter if it was an ATT web page or not, it looks like the iPhones current software does not currently support that kind of Java witch has nothing to do with AT&T, it is more an Apple issue, they wrote the software for the phone

    Emails I want to send will, as previously stated, eventually go through if I let them sit for an hour in the outbox. That's no good for time-sensitive business, of course, and Apple's glitch with offline outgoing mail servers is quite famous.
    Ideas? Fixes?

    I think you got the incoming and outgoing ports reversed. I think incoming is 995 and outgoing is 465.

    Yes, Bridge Mode is the correct setting for the AirPort Extreme when it is connected to another gateway, or modem/router.
    Connect an Ethernet cable from one of the LAN <-> ports on the 2Wire to the WAN port (circle of dots icon) on the AirPort Extreme.
    Open AirPort Utility and click Continue to follow the guided setup to "create a wireless network" on the AirPort Extreme. The application should suggest Bridge Mode as the connection option during the setup.
    Once you have the AirPort Extreme setup and providing a wireless network, if you don't really need the wireless network that the 2Wire is providing, it would be good idea to turn it off....since having two wireless networks in close proximity can introduce some interference issues.

    hello guys i recently purchased a nokia N-8 unlocked phone and i am using att carrier... as this is a smart phone i took the dataplan from my carrier. But i am unable to connect to the internet .... Can you please tell me how can i get connected to the internet
    The steps what i have done...
    Menu>Connectivity>settings>date use when roaming set to always ask
    Under destinations my frist priority is AT&T..
    What else i need to do so that browse the i can browse the internet....

Sorry.  Recently did a battery switch as I described in my post and in doing so internet operations returned to normal!  Suspect someone more knowledgeable that me can explain the experience.   • Losing ATT internet connection every hour. Help?

    Just upgraded from old Airport to Time Capsule. Old network worked flawlessly for years.
    My problem is now with Time Capsule I get disconnected from the internet every hour or so. After about 5 minutes the internet connection is automatically restored. (Or I can do a reboot of the modem to restore it quicker.)
    I'm using ATT DLS service. Have a Speedstream 5100 modem.
    Apple has replaced my Time Capsule, but the problem persists.
    I reverted back to my old Airport network and the problem disappears.
    Seems to be some type of incompatibility between Time Capsule and ATT.
    I've been on the phone for hours with both ATT and Apple. Anybody out there have any thoughts???

    I have a similar problem with a new TC 2TB unit. I have ATT ADSL service using a Speedstream modem. PPPoE is setup on the TC and it works and connects. All features of the TC are working (wi-fi, Back to My Mac, Time Machine, etc...) and the light is solid green on the TC.
    Periodically, the LED blinks amber and I've lost Internet access. The Speedstream modem shows all green lights. I have found that power cycling the Speedstream modem brings the TC back to solid green after about 2 minutes.
    I am seeing this happen about once a day and it can happen overnight when there is no network activity. I am thinking that the lease on the IP address given by ATT expires and the TC does not know enough to reinitiate a connection. I have set the PPPoE Connection to Always On and experienced the problem. I have also tried setting the Connection to Automatic and set the Disconnect if Idle setting to Never.

    I posted a private note and I got some crazy response about me switching wifi channels at home so my phone doesn't switch to mobile data. It didn't make any since to me. I'm not tech support. This is my problem below and it hasn't been resolved. I got a $20 credit and this issue has used up all my data for the entire billing cycle!! I'm really frustrated by this entire situation.
    I just received an email from ATT stating that my data usage ;reached 75% and I have 20 days left in my billing cycle. I call ATT Wireless, and stressed that both phones was at home and connected to WIFI (I am paying for ATT wireless internet service for 5 devices at home). I was told by the Wireless rep that my IPhone switches from WIFI to mobile data when the WIFI signal is weak. She told me to call ATT Internet. I made that call and was told that my Wireless signal was being interrupted by my neighboor's wireless signal; both wireless was using the same channel. He switched me to a different channel and rebooted the internet box. I was advise to turn my Cellular data off when at home and back on when I leave the house, so this won't happen again. Now, since my WIFI was dropping (without me knowing it; my phone still showed is was connected to WIFI) my data usage is very high and I only have .8 gig left for the next 20 days. After complaining about having to eventually purchase more data, I was transferred to Collections to see if I could get a credit. Needless to say, they couldn't help me. I was told to call ATT Wireless again!!!
    After telling the same story for a fourth time, I was given a $15 credit to offset the charge for 1 gig when I go over the data limit. I was told that I now have to manage that 1.8 gig for the next 20 days, by turning cellular data on/off and logging into my account to make sure I am not going over my limit! 75% of data was used at no fault of mines, but I am inconvenienced. When my home wireless drops, I get screwed. I have been a long time ATT customer, but this is making me rethink my relationship with ATT. This company has these two divisions that do not talk to each other and the customer suffers! I am very frustrated with this entire process.
    How do I escalate this issue, so it doesn't happen again?

  • Troubles connecting an Airport (2011) to ATT 2wire 2701 ADSL..help?

    I can't seem to get the Airport to function as my router ect   I have ATT Internet DSL service and a 2wire 2701 modem/router. There is no way to disable the wireless on the 2 wire..
    I set up the 2wire in bridge mode, set the airport up to function as the PPPoE connection and it wont negotiate and establish the Internet connection through the 2wire. However while in bridge mode I did set up my Mac as a PPPoE service direct connected to the 2wire and it did connect and provided Internet.
    What am I doing wrong ?

  • Att high speed and time capsule?

    Just upgraded to att high speed internet, can I also use time capsule?  Wasn't aware that att internet was a modem and router together but bought time capsule for the backup capabilities.

    There are several options from which to choose.
    You can connect the Time Capsule to one of the Ethernet ports on the ATT modem/router and configure the Time Capsule for backup purposes only and use the wireless on the ATT modem/router. In this case, you would not enable the wireless on the Time Capsule.
    Or, you can configure the Time Capsule to provide a wireless network and use that network.
    If you elect this option, it would probably make sense to turn off the wireless on the ATT modem/router....since two wireless routers in close proximity can create interference issues.

  • I cannot get ATT to cancel my old Dial-Up service.

    Very frustrated here.... I have held on to my old att account after moving to an area which is not covered by ATT and was given an ATT Dial Up service to keep my old email accounts. I do not need it and have called to cancel in March and was told it was done. In April I recieved another bill so I called and was told it was canceled for sure this time, I even recieved a confirmation number. Today I recieved another bill with 2 months now past due. What gives with the incompetence in this department? I already tried to call again but they are only open on week days so looks like 2 more days of pinned in frustration. I will be filing a complaint with the FCC this week as many years ago I was only able to resolve an issue with Sprint after lodging a complaint in this manner. In that case I tried to cancel my Cell plan with Sprint on the last day of the 2 year plan and they told me to call back the next day otherwise I had to pay an early termination fee, the next day I called to cancel and they said I already started a new month of service so I had to pay for the whole month. It was an outrageous Catch 22 and the FCC made them remove the charge. I hope they are able to help me here as well....

    I too am trying to cancel ATT Internet services - spent 3 hours getting transferred, dropped, ignored, etc. I must have signed up for dial-up many years ago to keep my att.net email. I am charged monthly via the credit card, so I don't get paper bills. I can no longer log into see any bills, so I don't know the account number.  And it must be a different address than my current one, since they cannot find me by address or phone number.  And the 8667223425 number is not helpful for people in New Jersey apparently.So nobody can look up my last name, find my account and cancel???? Literally spoke to 9 ATT reps over 3 hours. A couple tried to help, but eventually I got to people that transferred me to a line that either hung up or went to att wireless.

  • I cannot retrieve Mail from my B/U Hard Drive

    We purchased a Kindle Fire HDX and I added my e-mail account.
    I added over 200 old e-mails that are on my computer (Internet) ATT Yahoo account.
    I removed some of them and I checked originally to make sure that they did not erase from my ATT Internet provider, my iPhone does not erase them when I remove them, the iPhone will remove my Mac e-mails.
    I then went and removed the rest of them and unfortunately this morning all the e-mails were gone.
    I called Kindle and they stated that indeed that any e-mail I open and trash will be removed from the Internet provider.
    Now here is the problem:
    I back up all my stuff including Mail:
    I went into my HD and when Mail opened it only showed what is currently in mail.
    Am I doing something wrong?
    Should be opening something other then the Mail App?
    There is a separate icon for Mail that appears in the dock for the B/U HD.
    Any solution or does the B/U not have any effect on Mail ?
    Are there any other Apps like this if true?

    Start from your home folder, the path to the Mail account folders is this: Library/Mail/V2. Since the user Library is hidden in the Finder, you may find the instructions below helpful.
    Download and run the free application TinkerTool (not "TinkerTool System"), select the Finder tab, and check the box labeled Show hidden and system files. Then click Relaunch Finder.

  • HT1918 itunes hooked up to an e-mail no longer good tried to chg and add new email but it show system set me up with new account instead of updating new email need to merge and use the current email with old account

    I have had itunes for years, however, old account was setup under [email protected] and I no longer have that e-mail or ATT internet service so everytime I want to update my e-mail account with my new [email protected] it wll not let me because I tried to update from my itues account and just changed the e-mail id field and it allowed me to update however it actually just made me have another seperate account under my current e-mal.

    In iTunes, do Store->View my AppleID
    Click "Deuthorize ALL"
    Then, on any computers you still have, do Store->Authorize this computer.  If there are less than 5, you will have no problem.
    You can only do "deauthorize all" once a year, so in the future, if you ever throw a computer away, remember do to "Store->Deauthorize this computer" first.

  • HT201412 4G / 7.1.1 will not update to 8.0.2 on iTunes.

  • Airport Express and 2wire

    Just set up an ATT Internet DSL connection, and received a "2wire" modem and wireless base station.
    My plan was to set up Aiport Express as a Client, to utilize iTunes through my speakers.
    2-Wire does not recognize the Airport Express...

    If you want to use your AirPort Express in client mode but unwittingly try adding it to a network that is protected with an access control list (ACL), AirPort Express will flash its status light amber once per second. This means that it wasn't able to join the network and get an IP address.
    The ACL is stored on the base station that is hosting the wireless network, and it contains the MAC (media access control) address of each device that is allowed to join the network. To use your AirPort Express as a wireless client, its MAC address must be added to the ACL.
    AirPort Express has two MAC addresses, and both are listed on its case. The one labeled "AirPort ID" is the MAC address for its wireless interface, and the one labeled "Ethernet ID" is the one for its Ethernet port.
    If you are the network administrator, you simply need to update your ACL using AirPort Admin Utility so that it includes the "AirPort ID" of the AirPort Express. If not, speak with the person who runs the network.
    Here is what 2-Wire says....
    By default, there is no enabled ACL on the 2Wire Residential Gateway. Due to the fact that you are using a non-2Wire brand wireless adapter, which we have no product specific expertise on, you will need to either refer to the documentation that came with the wireless adapter or actually contact the manufacturer of the adapter for detailed instructions on configuring their wireless products. They will require three pieces of information from you in order to be able to assist you.
    The first piece of information is the SSID or network name. The SSID will be 2WIRExxx where the WIRE must be capital and the xxx = the last 3 numbers of your Serial Number which is the 12 digit number on the bottom of the HomePortal.
    The second and third pieces of information required will be the encryption key and key length/format. The Encryption key is the 10 digit number off of the bottom of the HomePortal that has brackets around it. The key length/format is hexadecimal and 64 bit.
    You will need to make certain your adapter has those configured into it or it will not work.

  • Bluetooth Ringtones & Web Access

    Couple of questions.  First of all - how do you close out of the web.  It seems like if I leave the web, I'm still connected (seeing the green v's over the power bars).  Also, how do I manage my files on the centro - have the app to manage the files on my card but can't seem to access things on my centro.  Am wanting to bluetooth a ringtone to my husband's cell and don't know where to go to do that.  Thanks for your help.

    If you are using ATT Internet access on the phone, you don't need to do anything to close the web link. It will go dormant on its own. You dont get charged for duration of attachment these days.
    Managing files - I use the freeware Filez but this may be a little deep for your needs. Basic file management is done in the Launcher (what you see when you hit the home key). Use the menu items Delete, Beam, Send, Category etc to operate on the software in your centro.
    For beaming a ringtone over BT, try this: Open Sounds from the Launcher. Cliuck the Manage... button. Now you can choose any ringtone to Send. The send options include Bluetooth. BEfore you go here, you should pair the other phone with your Centro - otherwise they will not be able to 'see' each other.
    To pair with another phone, you need to make the other phone visible over Bluetooth - see the manual for the other phone if you dont know how to do this. Then use Bluetooth app on Centro to pair with this phone. There is no guarantee that the other phone will be capable of excahnging files in this way with Centro. Also it may not share the ringer formats of the Centro - the built in tones are mainly MIDI files in the MID format. Tones you record yourself on the phone are AMR files.
