ATT or Verizon

Not sure if I can ask this question here...
In your opinion/experience, which carrier offers the best over all LTE? Verizon or ATT.
I currently have Verizon for my current iPad, and I'm generally happy with it. But I've been hearing good things about ATT. I'm going to get a new iPad and am trying to decide if I should stick to Verizon or get the new iPad with ATT.
What are your thoughts/recommendations?

Do you have cell phone service now? If so, I guess it is safe to assume it is not with ATT or Verizon.
You can check the coverage maps for each carrier where you live and make some new friends by asking someone you see with an iPhone which carrier they are with and if they are happy with it.
You can return an iPhone for payment credit within 30 days of the purchase date less a 10% restocking fee and cancel the ATT contract within the same 30 day period or at the same time the iPhone is returned for payment credit.
I assume the same is available with Verizon.

ATT should be okay, but not Verizon.  Look at the right panel, under "More like this", other users have asked similar questions.

which ipad is good for Panama att or verizon ?

    AT&T by far.
GSM dominates the overall worldwide market by a significant margin.
Check AT&T's website for how many GSM network "partners" they have throughout the world compared to Verizon.
    Copied from AT&T's website.
Stay connected while traveling to more than 220 countries and on more than 140 cruise ships, and access email and the Internet in more than 195 countries.
I believe Verizon has 35 countries.

  • CSpire iPhone in comparison to ATT and Verizon iPhones

What is the technology of the CSpire iPhone in comparison to the ATT and Verizon iPhones?

It's a CDMA iPhone. Just like any other CDMA iPhone. It is locked to CSpire and can not be unlocked.
What "technology" are you talking about?

  • Better resale value att or verizon

Which one is better resale value ATT or Verizon for Ipad 2 if i want to sell it in future ?
Say wi fi, 3G, 64GB and ATT or verizon..
    Or doesnt matter ??
    Thanks!
    Jake

I guess it depends if the purchaser wanted a CDMA or GSM iPad. The GSM model would not be worth anything to a Verizon customer and the CDMA model would not be worth anything to an AT&T customer.

  • ATT or Verizon (USA)?

If one doesn't care about surfing while conversing, is there any consensus about which service is better for a new iPhone subscriber?  I guess better means better phone reception in more places, effective speed, and reliability.

  • 3G with ATT verses Verizon...

I've read that the IP4 S is faster downloading in 3G with ATT verses Verizon under ideal conditions.  Is the same thing true with the iPad 2 with ATT verses Verizon?

Network speed is network speed, so they would be the same.  But verizon vs att is really dependant on exactly where you plan to use the device.  Each of the carriers has places where they do good, and places where they do not.  If you can, run your own test in a place where you will be using the network, doing the kind of things you would plan to do.   In theory, att network is slightly faster.  But that does not always play out in real life.

  • Switching iPhone 4s from ATT to Verizon in Santa Fe, NM

    Hi All,
From the subject line: I am currently living in Washington DC and ATT service is reasonably good.  In Santa Fe, NM where I am moving, ATT has awful service and Verizon has a much better reputation.  I am considering switching upon my move.  What are the significant differences between ATT and Verizon on the iPhone?  I understand that data network access and phone calls cannot happen simultaneously. Not a situation I usually encounter.   Are there any other significant differences that I should know about?
    Thanks.....

At some point will I be asked to set up the phone as a Verizon device (I am porting my number from AT&T)? Or does iTunes/Apple read the serial number of my phone and "know" it is a Verizon unit tied to my specific number? How exactly does this step work?
The phone will come with activation instructions. The activation servers will "know" what carrier the phone belongs to. You will probably have to call an 800 number to finish accepting the contract.
Did you specify in the ordering process that you wanted to port over your AT&T number? If yes, the phone will be activated with your number. The port process usually takes about 5-30 minutes. During that time, you can make outgoing calls from either phone but only your AT&T phone will ring. Once the port process is complete, you'll get a text on your Verizon phone. At that point, the AT&T phone will no longer be connected to your number.
If you didn't request the port, you'll need to call customer service.
Yes, you MUST leave your AT&T account active until the port process is complete or you will lose your number.
    Best of luck.

  • In my area StraightTalk uses both ATT and Verizon cell towers.

How do I know which model iPhone to choose to get Verizon's towers? I would like to purchase an iPhone 5 used. I live about 120 miles direcly SE of Wash DC that gets poor coverage from BOTH.
I already have an iPhone 4 on ATT using an antenna on the roof with a booster in the house.  Visitors using Verizon seem to get about a 10% better signal, but that 10% means a lot.  Thanks.
    Jim/Maryland

Steve... if you had truly marginal service from ATT ..and know people who had less-marginal service from Verizon, then you'd want to switch for a bird-in-the-hand - today.  I would expect in three years, a whiole 'nother service may be available...
I keep a wonderfuly cheap Net10, flip phone in my truck..as a handy 'pay phone'. I have 8,500 minutes accumulated.  (a new iP5 and the current iP4 is used by my wife)
... I must add, that I so much hate Verizon because of their crappy service as the former monolopy carrier to both my home and business that I cut the hardwire at both places and would refuse to enter a direct contract with them ever again.
I have Dish Network for Sat. connections for my Macs at home.. an ATT data plan for an iPad ..and Comcast phone and internet at my business.   ..but, Verizon's cell tower seems a little closer (or stronger signal) to my home.

  • Ipad1 or 2-ATT or Verizon - rural US and Europe

Here's my dilemma. We travel to rural US where Verizon is the only choice-the ATT network is useless but we also travel to Europe where my understanding is the Verizon network is useless. There is no compelling reason right now to get an Ipad2 (unless connectivity makes the decision).
Any suggestions on how to be able to get connectivity in both rural US and Europe.
    Thanks

  • I am looking to switch from ATT to Verizon on iPhone 5 but have Questions ???

Ok at this point I can read a ton of stuff on here about the differences in signal performance in different areas and things like that but. I am Also curius about functionality. I am constantly on my phone and using apps on it at the same time. besides that is there any other maybe quirky but maybe not differences between the 2 ? does anyone have any information that would possibly change my mind to stay on ATT or is it a go. The reason I ask is i get a new discount through Verizon and would like to save the money.

Besides the problems that you cite is your iPhone 5 locked to AT&T?
