Att: Steve - Customer's Deserve FREE Video Support (NOT DVD RELATED)

So in the end Steve, you cannot refute my logic on a factual basis, you can, and have only, disagreed with it based on YOUR perceptions. Perceptions that are fallible, just as my own are to a lesser or greater extent, based on the fact that your mind is pre determined to maintain it's presently accepted course. So what? You have not proved me wrong. You do not refute the fact that other software manufactures/developers that are just as potential as is Adobe, with respect to music related software, do offer excellent quality free video tutorials as a part of their basic support.
You maintain in your closing statement that Adobe has no logical reason to change their present course of action with respect to an absence of free video tutorial support. Do you realize what a foolish and illogical statement that is? I & THOUSANDS of others like me are that reason Steve. Certainly we may not constitute a majority of users, so what? We are customers Steve, and frankly therefore, we are right. Period. That is irrefutable business logic Steve. It's grounded well within the reality that this type of support is more than precedented within their very own jungle so to speak. This is not some whacked out eccentric's request Steve. This is as basic as basic gets.
You made the assertion that Videos were too expensive to be incorporated within the scheme of Adobe's operations without having a negative impact on the software's cost. I CLEARLY showed you that it could. You simply disagreed and returned insults as if "you knew it all" (which you don't & that's YOUR problem incidentally) without the slightest shred of proof to back up your disagreement. That's called being stubborn Steve. Just because it's YOUR way of doing something Steve, does not make it the only effective way it can (and is being done in reality)accomplished.
We have both made our case clear. I stand fully by mine and contend that it is both fair & reasonable.
Incidentally Ozpeter, I NEVER suggested free DVDs be included. Better go back and reread what I did suggested instead of fabricating reality to best serve your position.

Indeed, you referred to "comprehensive training video tutorials". I stand corrected. But none the less the subject has been discussed sufficiently.

  • Can I burn free video podcasts to DVD?

I'm trying to burn free video yoga podcasts to a DVD so I can play it in my DVD player. Can I do this?
I'm testing it out now, but it's taking hours to "Process Movies," encoding first the video and then the audio. I'm only working with about an hour's worth of video, but it's taking so long to convert the MPEG4 or whatever they are to whatever iDVD uses. I can't do yoga in my computer room, but want to use the DVD in my studio where I have lots of space.
    Thanks,
    Paul

podcasts aren't in a form that can be used by iDVD without conversion. You might have much better luck using something like Roxio's Toast Titanium.

  • Videos Freezing (Not Weather Related)

I'm having difficulty with videos. Whether I open them in QuickTime, in iMovie, in the Finder (Quick Look) or just about any other app, the video plays for a few seconds and then freezes. I have a new (just a few months) G5 Mac (2.93GHz, 8GB 1066MHz DDR3), and can't imagine that I'm overloading it. Sometimes the audio continues, even after the video has frozen.
I want to do some editing in iMovie, and can't keep the videos playing long enough to do the editing.
I've tried to interpret what is happening on the computer using Activity Monitor, but I'm not sure if there's anything there using enough processing to stop the videos. I'm not sure how to troubleshoot this in order to make my inquiry more specific.
    Any Ideas?
    Thanks.
    Lindy

You have a lot of RAM. Did you add it yourself or did you order it that way?
If you added some, what brand is it please?
How much free space is left on your hard drive and what size is it?
I think it would pay to do some basic repairs on your system also.
Try using Disk Utility to do a Disk Repair, as shown in this link, while booted up on your install disk.
You could have some directory corruption. Let us know what errors Disk Utility reports and if DU was able to repair them.
    After that Repair Permissions.
I would do all of the above once a month.

p.s. It would help us, so we can advise you correctly, if you would fill in your Mac's specs. in My Settings over on the right, near your name and under the logout choice please with the correct Mac. ->>>>>Over on the right side->>>>
Include the amount of RAM, processor size, and size of hard drive, and what OS you are running.

  • FME Firewire Video and Audio Support(not from Camera)

I can't seem to find any definitive answer on weather FME can
support both video and audio from a single Firewire connection that
is coming from an analog to digital Firewire converter box. I want
to take the analog audio and video feed, convert it to a Firewire
feed (using a Canopus DV converter) and feed that into a laptop.
Seems like that should work and both audio/video would be
    present...
That being said, I have found a few conflicting reports on
weather or not both the audio and video will be recognized. I also
note that others have been having issues in FME with PCI cards (no
audio when it should be there) so I'm curious if anyone has tried
Firewire (not from a camera). Will it work in FME v2.5+? If not, is
there an elegant laptop analog to digital conversion solution (that
doesn't require using the crapy mic in or line in ports)? (RCA
    connectors would be preferred.)
    Thanks so much!
P.S. I'm disappointed with Adobe's lack of support on this
encoder. They claim Firewire is supported but I've only found a few
3rd party sources that say 'video only' and nothing concrete at
that (even in the downloadable manual). I'm also disappointed at
Adobe's lack of e-mail support for 'pre-sale' product questions.
    Not supper great customer service!

FME should support audio and video from Firewire
    source.

  • Any free video hosting services meant for iTunes podcasts?

Any free video hosting services meant for iTunes podcasts? I have found free audio hosting ones for iTunes podcasts, but are there any videos ones? THANKS!

The best I found was after searching YouTube for, how to prepare a video podcast to submit to iTunes Directory.
Several instructional videos come up that are worth watching. The two I initially found are recommended are podbean.com and podomatic.com.
I tried podbean.com, which easily generated the RSS feed iTunes requires, which I was able to successfully copy into the iTunes store line on Submit a Podcast to the iTunes Directory. Podbean has many helpful instructions on how to use their site and submit your video to iTunes.
Since I wasted 3 weeks trying to understand https://discussions.apple.com/message/23110806#23110806, other apple.com insructions, searching the internet, calling senior advisors in Apple Care (none of whom knew or could read this apple.com page either) I was really happy just to find one way to be able to do it. And easily too.
The only way you can possibly get an answer from Apple is to email [email protected], the iTunes Store says, since there is no phone support. Then I was told to wait 10 working days for a reply.
Thank goodness I finally searched YouTube. (There were many other confusing and difficult instructions on the internet.)
After uploading small video files onto my new site at podbean.com, at least I got 3 short videos onto iTunes that show in my computer's iTunes podcast subscriptions and they downloaded successfully. I understand I must wait a few days to get an ID from iTunes directory, which will then list my videos to the pubic as available in ITunes.
Podbean.com does have up to 100 mb free web hosting. (No video can bemore than 30 mb.) But it does allow everything iTunes needs, including a cover photo and description. All future feeds will be automatiically seen by iTunes through the podbean url that was given you, that you pasted into iTunes when you first submitted your podcast. So you only have to do this once, I understand.
Podbean wants to entice you to purchase more space so they show various prices.
I'm still wondering if somehow I could link my existing youtube videos (or facebook, myspace, vimeo, Flickr duplicates) in a field somewhere and link to them. Maybe?
Now that I know to use a web host that generates all the xml and RSS feed behind the scenes (since I don't know how) I'll explore these options, and the other site, podomatic.com.
Let us know if there are other good, free ones for video.
(One YouTube video said mypodcast.com is good for mp3 audio podcasts, FYI.)

  • Video Support and Picture Messaging, Hmm...

There was a great update for the Palm Pre, as I bought my phone (7/28) update v1.1 was available, so I started of with benefits with many new features added. What I was disappointed about was not having video support mostly.  Then soon noticing I could not attach more than one file in picture messaging, which let me down.
Still love my palm, but I,ll adore it if it supports the things above and more (things the community are requesting, as well as suggested features from those behind the Palm Pre updates) , thats needed to complete this amazing phone!!!
How do you feel about this, besides everyone wanting the video support, but file attachment in picture messaging??
Feel free to dicuss about these problems, and if there is a way to attach more than one file please let me know.

  • Video format not supported .mov file

I exported a slideshow from iphoto to quicktime with the following settings:
    1) Export: Custom Export: Movie to Quicktime
    Kind: Quicktime movie file Channels:stereo
size: 200.2 MB Total Bit Rate: 8268 kbps
Bit Rate: 1378 bps Video Dimensions: 1280x720
    Video Codec: H.264
It exports to iTunes, but does not sync to the ipad (video format not supported)
What is the best setting so I can get the highest quality?

In looking at the videos that I have, all of which work on my iPad, the ones which I purchased through the iTunes Store are Low Complexity with bit rates of 128 kbps. The ones that I converted by HandBrake for iOS devices are Low Complexity and 159 kbps. All of them are around 850 x 480, H.264.

  • Quicktime exported "Video format not supported by the iPod".  Why?

    Any help appreciated.
-I just downloaded new version of quick time 7.6.4, alongside iTunes 9.00, paid for Quick time Pro, entered the key code successfully and the Pro-only options of Quick Time become available.
-I exported my quicktime video files "movie to iPod". (File type m4v).
    -Added file to iTunes library.
-When I sync my ipod (160GB "classic"), i get an error saying the "video format is not supported by the iPod". (I can watch downloads from the Itunes store without a problem.) It happens several times.
    Any suggestions?

    MagnusX,
I feel your angst on the Apple Rep poor communication skills, we've been there too, so as end users, we try to help other like yourself who comes up against a brick wall.
Your iPod classic firmware 2.0.4 support the following video format
H.264 video, up to 1.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Low-Complexity version of the H.264 Baseline Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; H.264 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Baseline Profile up to Level 3.0 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; MPEG-4 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats
Most likely the resolution or bitrate doesn't fall into the supported Video spec.
If you are using a Mac, I suggest you download a free video converter, called handbrake
You can also Google for other version of the video convertor if you are using Windows.

  • Free video background widgets in muse

is there something wrong with the free video background widgets add on as it wont allow me to enter url for uploaded video mp4 file on muse?  My video wont upload due to URL verification prompts how else am i suppose to upload this?
If i was to purchase a video background widget via add ons does it mean the widget is going to work? I could do with a suggestion if anyone is willing to assist as it is extremely frustrating i can not make this video widget work despite following tutorial footage online.
    Cheers!

I am not sure which free add on you are using paste a link. I  am working on a video heavy site, and have purchased both muse- themes and qooqee video widgets, and think they both are working fine except if you need to scroll. In the muse widgets you have you tube which you can hit full screen and pin so when you scroll it appears in background. The problem i had with any of the background video was that any composition widget stops working when you scroll down. have no idea why! if any one can explain? I got over this with the you tube widget. Have you got video fullscreen auto playing on mobile sites?, One of the staff on this form showed me a awesome tip for this. The giff person as i called them . on your mobile site add a full screen slide show. convert your video file to giff format and add in slide show as hero image. kicks *** tricks iphone. Mind you there is a learning curve to converting the video and it needs to be kinda 10 second footage max to load quick but loops auto etc. no sound, may be the giff person will help out with this one?

  • Monitor says VIDEO MODE NOT SUPPORTED after changing display settings

HELP! I am about to have a nervous breakdown with my mac mini! I hooked up the mac to my Philips LCD via DVI. No problem at all. But because the screen is only 15" I wanted to play around with the display settings a bit. So I changed the resolution from it's original 1204x768 to the one higher (not sure of numbers) and to my HORROR, I now can't get any picture at all - it says "VIDEO MODE NOT SUPPORTED". I have tried everything I can think of. I have rest the P-RAM, I have unplugged all cables, plugged the back in again, I bought the mac into work and hooked it up to my monitor and changed the resolution back to 1024x768 which is what it was on originally and that STILL didn't work. I can see the Apple logo and then it goes black and comes up with the error message. HELP! What am I doing wrong - I can't believe one click of a mouse button has rendered my display useless!!!

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Try booting the mini without the display connected, and then, once the system is running, connect the display. This will often force the system to default to a low resolution, and then correctly detect the display when it is connected.
If that doesn't help, with the display connected, boot into safe mode (hold the shift key down when starting up) and once the system is running, change the resolution to 1024x768, and ensure the correct refresh rate is selected. Rebooting normally ought then to give you a good display.
If all else fails, boot into safe mode with the display connected, and then in the Finder's file menu, use the 'find' option to search for 'windowserver' (no quotes). You should get 2 or 3 results, including one with a string of alphanumeric characters. Move all of them to the trash and restart normally.

I would try http://www.zamzar.com It is a website that allows you to upload your files, give an email address, and minutes-hours later, they email you a link for you to download your file in the new format. It also works for such things as downloading web based videos (like YouTube videos). I hope this answers your needs,
