ATT Yahoo Email
When typing in ATT yahoo email, many of the characters are not appearing that were entered. This happens on a regular basis and is very frustrating, so just wondering if anyone had any suggestions. We have shut down the computer and powered off, then rebooted but no diffeerence. This does not happen in MS Office documents, but does happen sometimes during online search data entry. Thanks, Doug

A few weeks ago forwarded messages with pics and other messages with attached photos gave long strings of HTML text code instead of the
I tried sending them to different viewers and got dialog boxes saying the file can't be read.
All of them were from people who had successfully sent email pics before.
My computer shop guy said ATT/Yahoo email changed something and I should use another email service.
What is the fix?
Any help is much appreciated.
RonMy husband has the same phone, we purchased them at the same time. I sent him the same photos in the same email that I downloaded them from and on his phone they show up with the normal higher resolution. Is it possible that there is something wrong with my iPhone or is there a setting that can be changed? I'm still learning to use it. All my other photos are of normal resolution. Does this make any sense to anyone?
Please help!

When I add an existing att yahoo email account to my iPhone and try to retrieve email I get an error message "cannot send mail - the user name or password for SMTP:[email protected]@smtp.att.yahoo.com is incorrect". I had a test email previously sent from iPhone to an email account already existing on the iPhone.

Mail won't work from att.yahoo email account in Northern California
I am in the S.F. Bay Area and use ATT phone service (and broad band, I think or DSL, I am not sure) and I have a yahoo email address ([email protected]).
To set up Mail I have tried all different combinations for Outgoing Server, something like SMPT:att.yahoo.com or something like that, I can't quite recall. Anyway, it would not send. What am I doing wrong ? I have also tried
smpt: yahoo.com and many other combinations and no luck.
I also have a Mac email address ([email protected]) and that is set for my incoming server. I was told by someone that all I need to do is to set my outgoing server to the phone-server that I have (which is ATT). Hope the question makes sense. I am computer novice. I hope you can reply with an answer that I can understand ! Many thanks .... Dr. Know Not All

Every frew minutes I am prompted to reenter/verify my ATT email account in Mail. This has been working flawlessly until a few weeks ago. I tried deleting and recreating the account with no success.
ATT uses Yahoo to host their email and I use the imap inbound and outbound server settings. I can still receive and send using that account but have to respond to the "enter your password pop-up every few minutes even though the password field is populated.I am also searching for the "fix" as mine hase been doing the same for about 3-4 months now and this is OLD... there are a lot of people working on this from the "communities forum" but Apple is doing nothing about it so far... I have also searched the Yahoo communities for a "fix" but the trolls just tell everyong to move to Gmail... LOL... so I will hope you(and the rest of us= alot) get an answer in here... If I find the "fix" elsewhere, I will be back to post here...

Why is my att/yahoo email no longer working properly?
[this is my second attempt to post; first effort not allowed as I did not have authorization-??]
I can open any one email, as normal. Links within an email seem to work, when I try them. However:
Once I open an email, I can not delete it or close it.
When I click "ACTIONS" or 'COMPOSE" the pop-up message "LOADING..." never completes, apparently looping.
When I click "COMPOSE", a text msg appears on the bottom of my screen indicating, I think, what the computer is reading:
us-mg205.mail.yahoo.com/neo/launch?.partner=sbc&.rand=cgcse0vj3t121#/minty/page/compose
if I attempt to delete, the same msg appears, minus "minty/page/compose"
When I mouse-over or click the gear wheel (settings) icon it merely spins and does nothing. Same text msg, except instead of "minty/page/compose" it reads "yucs-help_inner".
This situation arose about two days ago on my laptop. The same email works normally with Safari on my Ipad, also on my laptop via Windows Live Mail (which I no longer use but still have the program). Thus this appears to be a Mozilla/Firefox issue?Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before (re)installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
*Firefox 23.0: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible, to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.
*Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because all profile folders will be removed and you lose personal data like bookmarks and passwords from profiles of other Firefox versions.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
*(32 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
*(64 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\"
*It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure that "remove personal data" is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.
If you keep having problems then also create a new profile.

I have been using firefox for years to read my email. recently the size of text became small and hard to read. I would like to get the text size large again, so I don't have to use the other browser. I have a att yahoo email account and subscribe to at&t uverse for internet service.
I tried both of your suggestions and neither one worked. I found the solution by clicking on the "View" button, then "Reset". This put my email back to the original font/text size. Somehow the screen had been Zoomed in, so to change it, follow the instructions above.

I have a macbook pro that I am havng trouble with my ATT yahoo email settings. I can send and receive email from that account on my iPad, iPhone, and mac mini without problems. But on my Macbook I cannot send email with my ATT account. I can send with my mac.com account but my other accounts which use the default att sicne that is my dsl provider will not work.
I have tried several different settings for the inbound, outbound smtp, pop and other settings. I have tried what ATT told me to use but keep getting the error that I cannot send with the outgoing server.
If I try the same settings that are in my ipad etc. it still does not work. I have deleted, quit mail, then restarted it and added the att email account but it still will not work.
Am I missing something?
Does Mail have some creative ways that it uses outgoing servers?
Thanks,
PhilHere is some more info:
I have found that if I use Outlook I can send just fine. Also If I take my Macbook to another location with a different internet (McDonalds, Starbucks) I can send and receive just fine. It appears the problem is with how mac Mail works with my dsl modem or a setting with AT&T.
I see that others may be having the same problem and are using Thunderbird. I like mac mail and want to keep using it so I am hopeful this can be fixed. -
On my iPad Mini, when I delete an email from the inbox (and it goes into Trash), it immediately deletes that email from the server (ATT/Yahoo). I've called support for both ATT and Apple and can't find a way to have the emails remain on the server.
My husband and I share an email address and if he misses a day checking email on his notebook, he doesn't receive the items that I have sent to Trash on my iPad Mini.
Appreciate suggestions.
[The curious thing is, if I "move" the deleted emails from Trash on my iPad Mini into the Inbox, I can go to my notebook, open my online email and they are back in my ATT/Yahoo Inbox.]Is your Yahoo account set up as POP3 or IMAP?

How do I change the fonts on the home page? They recently shrank from 12 to very tiny..(6 pt?). I did nothing to change them, but after the event tried to change them using "preferences-Fonts"which had no effect. ATT seems to have made a change in their email. The fonts in the email are now huge (18 pt?). This could be an ATT/Yahoo problem with Mac, although Safari seems to be working o. k.
Jim, extensions are also add-ons. Add-ons include extensions, themes and plugins.
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you need to make sure it's not coming from one of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] and select ''Disable all add-ons''. If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. See [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes this article] for information about troubleshooting extensions and theme. You can troubleshoot plugins the same way.
If you want support for one of your add-ons, you'll need to contact its author. -
All of a sudden can't receive email on Mail client. Sessions with service provider (att/yahoo) and Apple have yielded no results! Recently upgraded to Lion, but have received email since. Anyone having the same problem. Apple says service provider problem, service provider say it's the mail client. Anyone had this problem???
No. My frustration with the problem just led me to begin the process convert all my email to a gmail client. However, after some time all my mail with att/yahoo has been coming through as before. Go figure. Still will convert to gmail.
