Attach a contact to a calendar event?

If I was to add an an event to my calendar (on iPhone) say "Call Bill". Is there a way to attach Bill so it is linked to his entry in my contact list. This way I could just click on him in my calendar event and call?
Thanks!

Can it sync contacts and calendars with my Mac or PC?
Yes, it uses iTunes to sync with your Mac or PC. Apple says iPhone will sync contacts with Address Book and Microsoft Entourage on Mac, and with Outlook and Outlook Express on Windows, as well as a Yahoo! address book. iPhone's calendar may be synced with iCal and Entourage on the Mac, and Outlook on Windows.
Can I enter calendar items directly on iPhone?
Yes, and they are synced back to your Mac or PC calendar by iTunes. While all calendars can be viewed on iPhone, newly created items all go into the same calendar on your Mac/PC, much as iSync for mobile phones currently works.

  • Firefox 5.0 cannot complete the action of attaching a document to a Calendar Event in Google Calendar, while internet explorer and chrome can.

When using Firefox 5 i cannot complete the action of attaching a document (google doc or uploaded doc) to an event in Google Calendar. This action does work correctly in ie and chrome, so it seems to be a compatibility issue. When i get as far as selecting the attachment the script seems to stop. Even "cancel" is un responsive. I have to reload the tab to move on.

Firefox uses that loopback connection to communicate with the Software Security Device. That includes the Password Manager and secure connections.

  • How do I link a Contact to a Calendar event?

When I set up a new Event in Calendar, I would like to be able to "link/sync" it to an existing Contact, simply to have info about the contact available without having to type in the Contact info again into the Event.
I do not want to send the Contact an email- in fact I may not even have the Contact's email.
I just want to be able to "link/sync" the Event with a Contact.
This seems to me to be a fairly basic and common thing to do - but I can not figure out how to do it.
    Thank you.

I was looking to have it input the physical address information not the contact name & email address.
This way it would input the physical address in the Location field.
When I use my calendar app on my phone it is done this way, so I thought Thunderbird would be capable of the same function.

  • Can someone pls advise how to tie a contacts info to a calendar event so you can contact them from the event when reschedulingis necessary instead of having to leave the calendar app, search contacts,

Connect contact info to calendar event in calendar app

    Hello AmyDGH,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! You can invite others to your events using email addresses. Once your invitees have accepted, you can then send a group email to the participants via the calendar application (or individually view a participants contact information). You can check out the iOS user guide for more information on using invitations with the calendar application:
    Invitations - iPhone
    http://help.apple.com/iphone/8/#/iph82c5721ca
Invite others to an event. Tap an event, tap Edit, then tap Invitees. Type names, or tap the add button to pick people from Contacts. If you don’t want to be notified when someone declines a meeting, go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendar > Show Invitee Declines.
Quickly send an email to attendees. Tap the event, tap Invitees, then tap the send mail to invitees button.
    Cheers,
    Matt M.

  • How to Drag and drop Mail message in Calendar event in Yosemite

    Hi,
I am not sure if this has already been answered or if Yosemite Mail is missing one cool feature. In Mavericks and before, it was every easy to drap and drop a email message to a calendar event in the "URL" attachment section where it appeared as "Show in Mail..." in the event. But now, I don't find this drap-and-drop feature anymore?
The other alternative is to create a event from the Mail message content if there is a date (like 12/12/14) specified. But what about messages which do not have dates in them but I still want to attach the email to a calendar event?
Please chime in if others are also experiencing the same pain in Yosemite or if there is any other easier trick?
    Thanks!

  • Lost calendar events....

I just tried to sync my ical on my iPad with my iPhone and lost all my events!  Is there a way to retrieve those events?

Do you currently use Outlook on your PC for calendar events? If so and you wanted to sync your iPhone's calendar with Outlook's calendar, why would you select Calendars for replace info on your iPhone? If this didn't replace your iPhone's calendar events with your Outlook calendar events, this indicates you are not currently using Outlook for calendar events.
Do you have Outlook 2003 or 2007?
If you haven't synced your iPhone with iTunes again since this happened, do not sync your iPhone again. Try restoring your iPhone with iTunes from your iPhone's backup.
If this restores the calendar events and contact info on your iPhone and it should, if you have Outlook 2003 or 2007, before syncing contacts and calendar events with Outlook, enter one unique contact and one calendar event in Outlook. Make these up if needed, which can be deleted later. This will provide a merge prompt when syncing this data with Outlook, which you want to select.

  • MobileMe Trial Ended, Contacts removed and Calendar now blank

    Hi
My mobileme trial period ended, so i removed the account from my iphone. On doing this, all of my contacts and calendar entries were removed. I still have all of my contacts & calendar entries on my macbook and i need to get them back onto my iphone.
If I sync my iphone with my mac, will the contacts and calendar entries be removed from the computer? How can i get my contacts and calendar entries back onto the phone?
    Thanks

When turning on over the air syncing for contact info and calendar events with a MM or Exchange account, all contact info and calendar events on the iPhone are erased and replaced with the online contact info and calendar events.
When turning off over the air syncing for contact info and calendar events, all contact info and calendar events being synced over the air with the online address book and calendar are removed from the iPhone.
Syncing your iPhone direct with the Address Book and iCal on your Mac should not remove the contact info and calendar events from the Address Book and iCal on your Mac. No different from syncing a new iPhone with the Address Book and iCal on your Mac when the iPhone's address book and calendar are empty.
To be on the safe side, create a backup of your Address Book and iCal on your Mac before syncing this data with your iPhone.
At the Address Book menu bar, go to File and select File > Export and select Address Book Archive.
At the iCal menu bar, go to File and select Back up iCal.
If something goes wrong, you will have a backup of this data on your computer to recover from, which is a good idea to be maintaining a backup of this data anyway.

  • Email a calendar event from my iphone to a friend as a attachment.

How do I email a calendar event to a friend as a attachment from my iphone

I totally agree that this would be a great up date to the iPhone. I would also like to be able to e-mail contact information as an attachment from my phone. I come across the need to do both of things on almost a daily basis.

  • Have problem setting Email alerts for Calendar events. Warning message says I need to set up a card in Contacts with my email. I do but it doesn't recognize it. How do I indicate the email I want alerts sent to?

The system of setting up email alerts for Calendar events worked fine in Snow Leopard but since I upgraded to Mt. Lion Calendar won't let me set email alerts. When I try, I get an error message saying I need to set up a card in Contacts for my email. I have a card set up in Contacts for both of my email addresses but it doesn't recognize them. Perhaps the name I have on the card doesn't match a name that Calendar is looking for. Calendar doesn't seem to have a way in Preferences or elsewhere to indicate the email I want alerts sent to. Any ideas how I can get this system working again? Thanks for your help.

You might want to consider starting a new discussion. Since this one is marked solved, less people are likely to look at it. You can link to this one.
See if another contact is marked as this is my card.

  • How can I add a contact on the calendar for an event

How can I add a contact on the calendar for an event

It is between Repeat and Alert on my iPhone 5 with iOS 6.0.1
I used the + on the top right to add the event and when you look vertically starting with the name, followed by location and then time the rest of the default things includ Invitees, among other items.

  • Google contacts and calendar events entered on my iPhone 5s are not syncing with my google account.

Newly entered contacts and calendar events entered on my IPhone 5s are not syncing to google.
    Facts that may be pertinent:
    - I switched from the iPhone 4 to the iPhone 5s and did the easy option of having it automatically set up like my previous phone, so I did not change any part of the setup. It is possible that it stopped syncing at that time, based on which contacts have synced and which haven't.
    - My gmail account is set up as Exchange, with Mail, Contacts, and Calendars set to sync.
    - Server: m.google.com, Use SSl is on, S/MIME is off (I don't actually know what these are, but maybe they matter?)
    - Fetch New Data / Gmail account is set to Push
    - Contacts and Calendar Default Account is Gmail
    - In the Contacts app under Groups I have only GMAIL checked.
I've read that Google recommends CardDAV, which I gather is not the same as Exchange?
I'm afraid to delete anything and start over, for fear of losing my contacts.
Is there a difference between the gmail account I set up and what the Contacts app calls GMAIL?
If there is anything I should communicate about how things are set up on the Google end, let me know.
    Thanks in advance for help!

    Hello Marsden,
    Try this...
Go to the isync program on your Mac.
Go to Preferences in the main menu
    Hit Reset Sync History
I'm pretty sure this is how I fixed it... so far so good.
Let me know if that works for you!

  • I have just synced phone/ipad and PC and now have triple contacts and calendar events....Any suggestions?

I have just synced to iCloud with the new iOS 5 operating system and now all my calendar events and contacts have duplicated. Any suggestions?

I have already tried this but still the same. I have also tried un-pairing my speakers and re-pairing! Still get broken playback at times. This even happens when I am close to the bluetooth receiver.

How are you syncing? Are you syncing through itunes, icloud or both? Most issues come from syncing the same data/content from more than one source.

  • How to force a restore of contacts and calendar events from Palm Profile? (and memos and tasks!)

Yesterday I had to do a partial erase restart of my beloved Palm Pre.  In the past I have had to do full data restorations, and have had no problems at all.  This time, however, my Pre did not recover the dozens of contacts saved in my Palm Profile, nor did it recover any of the Palm Profile calendar events (and all my memos are gone, as well as tasks).  I've tried using the "synch" button in the contacts preferences dialog box, but it did nothing.  Does anyone know if it is possible to "force" a full recovery of your data from the Palm Profile backup, or if there is a way to access that data online somehow?  Much of my contact data I have successfully migrated through seven previous Palm PDAs and phones...it would be too painfully ironic if I've now lost all of that data just because I bought a Palm Pre and trusted the Profile backup system...
Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)

It's 12 am eastern time, and their servers are still down. This is strike 2 for the Palm pre (webOS) for me.

  • Why do I get duplication of Contacts and Calendar events.

I just purchased the Iphone 3GS and have a problem with duplication of calendar events AND contacts.
I "THINK" the problem is that I set it up to syn with mobile me and also perhaps with my itunes when I connect it for ringtones, video's, music, etc.
For example under contacts, I have a section called "From my Mac" and one "my xxx@mac (mobile me)
I think this is where it comes from.
Any help on explaining this and what to do without screwing my system up, would be GREATLY appreciated.
    Skip

Up to a week ago I'd been using my Outlook calendar to synch to the iPhone. Last week I set up a Google calendar and synched that with Outlook and in turn with the phone - so I got two lots of everything appearing in my phone calendar, and opted for just one to show.
As mine both had identical information in (as they came from the same source) there was little point my having the Google calendar synched to the phone, it was more an excercise of checking what would happen.
I have a choice of either of the calendars to show through, or both - and if I choose both naturally there are double entries.
I assume what you have done is the same.
So for the calendar just decide which of the two you want to be the one that shows through on the iPhone.
I don't have duplicate contacts though.
