Attach CAD and Vectorworks file

I'm using
Acrobat 8 pro
iMac 24" 2.4GHz intel
OSX 10.4.11
I was successful attaching vectorwoks 2008 file (.vwx) to my PDF file. The attached files looks normal with the vectorworks icon in the pdf. attach file panel, I can save the attached .vwx file to my desktop and double click the file to open.
I don't know what happen all the sudden, the icon of the .vwx turn blank and when I save attached .vwx file to my desktop, I cannot open the file by double clicking the file. It turn into unrecognized file format. I have to open the file from "open" menu in Vectorworks.
Any suggestion?

I am desperately trying to figure out how to attach .pdf and .doc files to Reply emails in the Mail app. I have downloaded GoodReader, but when I go into "Manage Files" and choose "Open in...", Mail is not one of the apps listed for me to choose from (only Quickoffice and iBooks are listed, that's it). My Gmail account is pushed to the Mail app, if that's relevant at all.
I'm hoping to be able to attach documents to Reply emails in the Mail app, but if I have to do it using my web-based email, that's better than nothing. I just really need to be able to attach them to Replies, and not compose a new email from scratch.
I'd REALLY appreciate any help with this!

I thought I might be able to figure out a clever work-around by using cut and paste from a new message but this did not work as expected. I have been using the MobileMe iDisk app to store pdf files and then just mailing out the links. I believe my cut and paste method would have worked with this, however I've got about a year now to figure out another way to do this if it is not included in Apple's new cloud service. This has actually been a better as I need to worry less about file size and don't need to have the files stored on the device.
You may want to look into what on-line file storage solutions are out there and if they have the ability to send links to files to colleagues, possibly with password protection.

Has anyone found a solution for attaching video and audio files in mail with Mavericks. It works fine on my macbook pro but does not work on my desktop. I get the spinning wheel of death. It worked fine before I upgraded to Mavericks.

Shredded Storage (CAD AND DWG FILES)

Does SharePoint 2013 Shred CAD and DWG files?
Versioning for non-office document is 'delta' or 'full copy versions'?

Everything is shredded, it cannot be disabled. As for the delta, that relies on Cobalt, which handles Office-format files.

Attaching .zip and .sitx files

It seems that attaching .zip and .sitx files is not supported in this new forum. Is this correct?
Also I could not find a "Forum Support" link where I could have posted this. The one near the top of the page on the left in the black rectangle, seems to be for products tech support and not for the forum. Or did I miss something?

Opening attached .pdf and .doc files

I am having a mental moment and can't figure out how to
(attach to button) import .pdf or .doc files so that they open when
the project is published. The buttons are linked to files on my
computer...when I publish, Captivate knows the files are there and
tells me:
"The files/projects listed below are linked to the open
project. The linked files/projects may require exporting.
It is also important to copy all referenced files and
projects with their corresponding HTML files to the output folder."
1. How do I export the linked files?
2. What output folder is it refering to?

approach.
Are you saying the links from Captivate are failing you? You
may wish to try a technique I outlined in

Is it possible to attach PDF and XML file in same email using email button?

I'm trying to figure out a way to setup an email submit button so that, when clicked, both the complete PDF file and an XML file of the form data is attached to an email. I've searched all over but have been unable to find any solutions. Anyone able to assist me with this?

Attaching Word and PDF files in Mail without preview in the middle of a message

I am using Mail but often attaching Word docs and PDFs. Word attachments appear as small icons, but PDFs as preview and usually in the middle of the message. Can I attach PDFs as small icons and not in the middle of a message? Having just moved to Mac from PC I am missing the tidyness of Outlook, but if you can help me I'll persist.

I found this solution in a previous thread:
1. Open Terminal (Applications > Utilities > Terminal)
2. copy and paste this line after the $:
defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing -bool yes
3. hit return
4. you may need to restart Mail for the change to take effect, it worked for me without restarting Mail.
5. to change it back you would do
defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing -bool false

Hi Anant,
I think that the customizing in transaction DC30 is important for you. Because for attaching video and word files you have to set up the necessary workstation applications in this transaction.

I am not aware of a way except for photos that allows you to select multiple files in an email. I even checked settings in the Adobe Reader app, and it does not show that ability.

Attaching .olb and .pll libraries using the frmcmp executable file

Hi ,
I use the frmcmp (Forms Compiler) executable file in order to batch compile and create the .fmx files in Windows .
All forms do not succeed( .fmx files are not created , except these ones which does not have .olb, .pll libs attached to them) because the system cannot load the .pll and .olb libs , which are normally attached to the fmb files.
How can I define to 'attach' them in the frmcmp executable file?

Actually, there is another possibility.
Enter a few extra lines in you batch file, before you call frmcmp:
set oracle_home=c:\oracle\dev10g
set path=%oracle_home%\bin;%path%
set forms_path=d:\apps\lib\olb;d:\apps\lib\pls
(In some cases you might have to add
set nls_lang=<language_region>

No.
File -> Export and send them to a Folder on the desktop. Then do what you will with them from there.
There is nothing to be gained by installing Picasa if you're using iPhoto.

I should further say the files I sent are .xlsx and .docx files. They look fine my end and I send such files all the time without problems.
However, I did try to cheat by going in via the Safari onto my 'live' online email account and the Safari automatically transfers them to winmail.dat files with the same result.
Ahh - have just been on using my PC this time and you are right, it seems that the service provider does the transfer and then when my outlook opens the file (on the PC), it must reconvert to .xlsx etc again.
Very strange.
Ergo, I guess the question should be how I open wimail.dat files ??

Cloud trouble with downloading Vectorworks file from mail

I just recently switched to the cloud from mobile me and realized my imac didn't have Lion so I'm having to access email through internet rather than through MAIL. Before the switch, I could receive Vectorworks files via email and drag to my desktop and then open in that application. Now, the file comes in as a .vwx but I get the message "There is no application set to open the document" It then asks if I want to choose an application on my computer but it won't let me choose Vectorworks. What happened?

Will it open the file if you launch Vectorworks first (from the Dock or Applications folder), then use the File -> Open command from within program (and select the .vwx file)?
If you have control over sending the email with .vwx attachment, it may work if it is compressed into a zip file, then attached to the email. At the receiving end, detach from email and uncompress the file. On a Mac, compressing can be done with a right (or Control) click on the file in a Finder window, then select the Compress <file name> command. To uncompress a zip file, just double-click it in a Finder window.
