Attach Logical File to Document tab

Hi,
i have uploaded the file in .csv format to the application server, but i am not able to attach it in the document tab, i used the function module
CRM_ICSS_UPLOAD_SR_ATTACHMENT in the BADI CRM_MKT_EXP_CAMP_DAT Method : export_campaign_data.
can anyone guide me how to proceed.

Hi Prem,
You can attach this manually in the document tab of BP. Thats the standard functionality.

When I'm importing file in document tab page (in activity, BP, etc) I get error "operation not allowed", and nothing more :/
Why it can happen? I have never had any problems with documents, since now. Do you think this is because of I'm connecting with SAP throw VPN, and there are some settings, which blocks file sending to SAP server?

How to download email attachment video file or document file

Hello
i am unable to download MP4 video file from my gmail account to my Iphone6 plus.
When i just press on email attachment it plays on line but no option for downloading
only Open,Add in reading list & Copy options showing
Do you have some solution for this

About. Also what type of email account are the messages coming
from? Are you using a BES account or BIS account? If your are using a BIS account what type of
integrations are you using? POP, IMAP, OWA, Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail etc…

File open error under document tab in tcode BP

Hi expert
In a report, I am reading path ,file type ,name from a text file from the presentation server. The file gives all the information related to the file uploaded on application server. File can be of any type like cfg ,doc txt, bmp .
I have to read and link the file under document tab in BP code I am able to link but not able to open the file from the link another text format is giving dump error saying format not supporting.
I am reading and linking in binary mode because i do not have another option as we can read the file in text and binary mode only.
Please suggest any solution for this .
Point will be rewarded for this.

HI,
Just try it simply as below.
the possible reasons could be.
1) file with that name is not existing in that path
2) path name is wrong (u gave it as c:/ give it as c:\)
3) file may be open..
how ever just try with giving the file path and the output table and see how it works

Attaching a file to a numbers document - possible?

I am creating a list of serial numbers for different software I have purchased online. Two of the programs I bought online require that you open a file that contains your serial number and when you open it, the serial number automatically gets applied to the program. I assume I could just open that file in text edit and copy down the serial number but it would be easier if there was a way I could "attach" a file to my numbers document. The files are very small. Is this possible?

You can't attach a file to a Numbers document.
With the original structure, if you add such a file in the document's package the app will do a logical cleaning and remove it.
The new structure is simply the old one packed with a specific tool so, we can't compact a package by ourself to rebuild a flatfile.
So, happily, there is no way to use iWork documents as trash for this or that garbage file.

Attaching Mail to documents Tab

Dear Gurus,
Application : CRM
T-code : crmd_order
while creating and save an entry ( say for example creating one case ), a mail (contains information of that case) will be triggered to the case owner through badi.
Now I want to get this mail document and attach it to documents tab of that case in background( BADI ).
I am using method create_Link of class CL_BCS within my Badi. But it is not working.
Please advice on this Issue.

Hi,
You can try with the Generic Object Services Toolbar in the title bar. This toolbar has the functionality to attach the files for the document.

Are you sure PDF won't work? It should as what you're trying to do is pretty much what it is designed for (PDF - Portable Document Format). On a Mac anywone who receives the file should be able to see it in all its page layout glory by using the app Preview or Adobe Reader. Same on a PC, the file should be viewable as a PDF file using Adobe Reader and probably some other viewer (don't use PCs so not sure what other apps).
What application are you creating the file in and are you sure you're exporting it correctly in PDF format, fonts and images embedded?

Function module to find document attached to a transaction in document tab

I have an urgent requirement. I have to check whether any document is attached in the document tab in service order transaction within my code. How can I do that?Is there any function module for doing that? Please suggest.

Not quite sure if these BAPI's work for service orders in CRM (cause that is probably what you are looking for), but here is some code for retrieving documents for service orders (or business transaction in general):
DATA : lr_crm_document           TYPE REF TO cl_crm_documents.
Get header info object.
    SELECT SINGLE * FROM crmd_orderadm_h
           INTO lw_orderadm_h
           WHERE guid = iv_guid.
Retrieve all documents linked to current business transaction.
    CREATE OBJECT lr_crm_document.
    ls_business_object-instid = lw_orderadm_h-guid.
    ls_business_object-typeid = lw_orderadm_h-object_type.
    ls_business_object-catid = 'BO'.
Get info documents.
    CALL METHOD lr_crm_document->get_info

DMS - File attached for FI posted document

Hi All,
I am new for DMS .
My requirement is - we have web application in .net . Vendor update entry in web application , attached some file with that page and go to submit .
It comes in SAP through proxy and posting in FI has been done .
But the file attached in .net application is stored in .net application server .
So now requirement is when we open posted document in SAP we need that file attached with posted document (available in GOS for that t-Code) .
My question is -
1 - how we create entry in DMS dynamically ( we got posting confirmation in SAP through proxy and we got that file in SAP application server through file transfer ) . But how to entry maintain in DMS (we have multiple document for single posted document ). Even I know how to create document type for DMS n basic thing of DMS .But I need algo .
2- How that entry link maintain to that FI T-Code .

Hi Ravi,
you need to customize in OAC3 the Documenttyp link to FI Object.
e.g
ObjectType Doc.type Status Cont. Rep. Link Doc.class Ret.per.
BKPF #ZXYDOC# X C1 TOA01 PDF 180
From your Server you need to call am FM (something like ALINK_CREATE_ASYNCHRON_META" on your SAP System via RFC to save the File after you created the Object.

"Files" and other tabs not visible for document library after script editor webpart is added

I created a document library and uploaded a few documents to ti. On the ribbon, I could see both "Files" and "Library" tabs. I then added a Script Editor webpart to this page because I needed to run some javascript on this
page. Now, when I go to that document library page (AllItems.aspx) then I don't see the Files and Library tab. My guess is that this is because these tabs are context sensitive so they only appear when Sharepoint knows you're working with a document
library and since now I have both the webpart that shows the document library and the Script editor webpart, that context is not there. If I click somewhere on the page close to the actual list of documents, then the Files and Library tabs reappear since
now Sharepoint knows that I'm working with a document library. Is there any way aroudn this? We don't want to have to ask our customer to click somewhere on the screen in order to get access to these tabs. I'm not sure why Sharepoint would
be confused by the Script editor webpart. It is not visible so when the page is not in edit more, you can't even see that Script editor. So, my question is: is there any way to:
- either find some other way of using javascript on this page (maybe external javascript file with some link to it on the page?
- or, some way to force the Fiels and Library tabs to be visible no matter what (i.e. despite having the Script editor webpart on the page).
I also experienced this issue when I wanted to insert some customized text on the same page that had a document library. For example, I created a document library and then on the AllItems.aspx page I inserted a content editor webpart so that I can
show some text at the top. That also caused the Files and Library tabs to disappear.

I understand Files/Libraray tab disappear after you add web parts to a document library, once you click somewhere in library list, it will appear again.
This is by design. As workaround, please try to use SharePoint Desginer to edit Allitems page of document library instead of using script web part.

1) How can we attach any files (word, pdf, email messages etc) to sales orders, credit memo requests etc?
2) Is there any restriction in attaching these files to sales orders? Is there any impact on system perfomance if we attach documents?
Could you describe both with DMS and without DMS.

I understand that the following is required for viewing this option - services for objects:

1. In Release 4.70, the object services for Transactions VA02/VA03 were deactivated in the SAP Standard System (for performance reasons). However, the object services can be reactivated individually by setting user/profile parameter SD_SWU_ACTIVE = X.
2. The object services are only available for dialog users, that is, if you choose user type 'Dialog' for the corresponding user on the 'Logon data' screen in Transaction SU01.
My system is 4.6C and I am not able to add this parameter - "Parameter ID SD_SWU_ACTIVE does not exist".
My user type is 'dialog'.
Can you tell me if there is something else that I need to activate?

Unable to attach a file document without full data path (vers 8.0 beta) | Likely, based upon user testing.

For the last two days I have been unable to attach relatively small Acrobat PDF or document files to my outgoing emails.
This could be a problem with the Firefox browser (v8.0 beta) or Windows. Mozilla Firefox v8.0 beta has latest updates,
AT&T "Mail.Yahoo.com" will not upload any files to the website for sending; the DRAFT email message can be stored as usual. "Mail.Google.com" also exhibits the same failure, however GMail allows the user to revert to "classic uploader" and the file can then be attached with the tag showing "the full PC data path".
Both email access attempts were using Mozilla Firebox v8.0 beta.
In the first example (AT&T) I was able to compose and save the draft email without attachments, then process the email normally (attaching the file) from my Nokia Smartphone using Symbian OS6.

It should be noted that I can't repeat the behavior on my test machine again today after some changes were made in our environment.
Today, I found that someone had modified permissions on the folder to give the group my test account was a member of rights to traverse the folder hierarchy from the root of the share. Additionally, in testing something with FIPS mode, I ended up reverting
my virtual machine to an older snapshot.
After removing the extra permissions that weren't present when I was doing my testing and reverting to the older snapshot, I am not having issues accessing the real equivalent of folder3 directly in Windows Explorer via DFS UNC path or creating a shortcut
with the New Shortcut wizard.
Things have been fundamentally changed and I cannot repeat the behavior on this particular folder. I will see if I can recreate the same situation on another folder.

You will (often) see a preview of the attachment, depending upon the file type. To get rid of the preview: control click on the attachment select "View as icon".
(What the recipient of your message sees is dictated by that person's email application. If you want to make sure the person gets an attachement which is not previewed, you can zip it (control-click, "Compress...") and then attach the zipped file(s). Or you can try something like Attachment Tamer.)
