Attach photos as icons, not already opened?

When I attach a photo to an email, the opened photo fills the text area. I'd rather the photos show up as icons, not as already opened photos. How do I do this?

The Mail application displays all image/photo and single page PDF attachments inline or viewed in place within the body of the message by default which cannot be turned off. This applies to received and sent messages with such attachments.
You can control-click on such an attachment and select View as Icon but regardless, depending on the recipient's email client and available preference settings, such attachments may appear inline or viewed in place within the body of the message when the message is opened by the recipient (as with the Mail application when receiving/opening a message with such attachments) or as attached files only which must be opened separately to be viewed for which the sender has no control over.
The reverse is true. Windows Outlook and OE display such attachments as attached files only (icons) but when sent to a Mail.app user, the attachments appear inline or viewed in place within the body of the message when the message is opened.
When I switched from using Entourage to the Mail.app when Jaguar was introduced, this took a little getting used to but I prefer it since it provides confirmation that I have selected the correct photo file before the message is sent and has no determination on how such an attachment is received by the recipient.
I haven't used it but you can purchase a 3rd party plugin for the Mail.app called Mail Attachments Iconizer.

The cloud icon means you've already downloaded those Apps in the past and they are in your purchased history.
For payed apps this would allow you to redownload them without having to pay again.
Just tap on the cloud icon to start the download.

Iphoto update "The photo "X" could not be opened, because the original item cannot be found."

Updating iphoto and get the Alert "The photo “X” could not be opened, because the original item cannot be found." Which is because I have archived thousands of photos offline. I can't go through the entire list one by one hitting the "cancel" button, but iPhoto apparently won't update unless this is done. Is there a way to skip this step? I can't run iPhoto at all with the alert live.

Do you have a referenced library (The iPhoto advanced preference to "copy imported items to the iPhoto library" has been unchecked) which is strongly NOT recommended.
If so then your only choice is to restore the originals back to the exact path they had when you imported them or to rebuild your library using iPhoto Library Manager - http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/ - without them

Attaching ONLY a PDF icon, not the open file to a mail message.

I recall that I once found a Menu item for limiting the attachment of a PDF to its icon only and NOT the opened file. I can't find it now. Any idea welcome.

I had it and now it is gone. Don't know exactly when but recently (OSX 10.8.5). Perhaps I am not the only one with this experience. It seemed to work for all attachments too ala MS Exchange. Changing to plain text did not help me.
Does the recipient get it the same way it is sent - not having tested? Yes I'm lazy.
Is there a way to set attachment as icon by default without a third party tool?

You do know this has no effect whatsoever on how the attachments appear when the message is opened by the recipient?
When selecting View as Icon for an attachment that appears inline or viewed in place within the body of the message and sending it this way to a Mail.app user, the attachment will appear inline or viewed in place within the body of the message when the message is opened by the recipient.
Unless you use HTML with embedded images or objects in the message body, the sender of a message has no control over how attachments appear when the message is opened by the recipient. This is determined by the recipient's email client.

Adobe VBScript or COM API fails when Adobe application not already open on a certain machine

Was wondering if anybody might have input on this or observed this themselves. Is there a known issue/bug for this?
I'm building scripted tooling to automate tasks in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, using the COM API (what Adobe lists as VBScript scripting reference, but is really COM). I've tested with both JScript (Microsoft Javascript, for doing same things you would use VBScript for) and Python using COM. In both cases got the same issue.
When I was building the tooling, it works fine for me. But on a colleagues machine, the problem comes up. Sadly the error messaging is vague to pinpoint the root cause of the problem. We just know when it happens, but not why/how. We both have Windows 7 64-bit and are using 64-bit version of the Adobe apps, version CS6. Though we also have 32-bit version installed as well.
The funny thing about my colleague's machine is the the tool/script will execute fine if Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop is already open. But if the app is not open already, it just fails at the point of instantiating the COM object. On my machine it works fine in both cases.

Also, there appears to be rather an unfortunate bug. If the publisher does not yet have a subscriber, it looks like these two properties return an error. Oof.
So. there is this other way to do it. Embarrassing.

Yep. The secret vertical bar call. I believe you can make this call once on the publishing stream. However, that'll only get to the subscribers that are currently connected and it won't get to subscribers that have yet to connect.
You can also call send on the specific subscribing streams to give different permissions to each subscriber.

I keep getting an error when clicking a link in email if firefox is not already open

If firefox in not open when I click a link in an email I get an error message. If firefox is already open it opens a new tab and works okay. After getting the error message it still opens firefox and goes to the link.

The actual error was "There was a problem sending the command to the program". This was the message inside the error box. The error box also shows a message "https://support.mozilla.com/questions/887286#answer-2...". I cant read anymore and can't copy any of the links or message.

Email attachment in pdf format not getting opened

                 i have to send Payslip as PDF as email attachment. So i have used the FM BAPI_GET_PAYSLIP_PDF and further passed the data to FM

Is there a way to only view photos that are not already in an album?

Not much more to say than, what is in the subject.
I have gotten behind on organizing my photos in to albums, and I would love a method to view ONLY the pictures that have yet to be added to album. Especially useful would be if that un-albumed picture would then disappear from that view, i.e. where I could have a pile of pics that would diminish to zero once I had filed them all properly.
Any tips?

Photo's Icon not showing in iTunes

Obviously my device is being read, I'm able to transfer videos off my computer into the movies icon in iTunes and it works fine. They go on my iPhone just great. But for some odd reason the "photos" icon in iTunes isn't there. Therefore I can't transfer any videos or photos off my PC into my camera roll on my iPhone. Which is something I really want to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Extra info - iPhone 5s running on the latest iOS. iTunes is up to date.

The camera roll doesn't appear anywhere in the iTunes interface. If there are one or more images in the camera roll then the device should appear as a camera in Windows Explorer and the files can be copied off it from there. You can also install the iCloud control panel so that images in your Photo Stream are automatically copied to your computer.

Create a hyperlink that does not open a new window if a window containing the url is already open?

Is there a way to create a hyperlink to a url that "jumps to" the URL's window if it is already open in the browser? Therefore a new window is not opened and the existing window containing the hyperlink would not change either.
If the target url is not already open, then yes the link could either open in a new window or in its existing window.
Does anyone know if there is a command/code for this?

Attachment photo asked to use gallery or photos to open picture attachment then is says "just once or always" tapped photo and always and now different photos appear

in text messaging i received a photo as an attachment - i tapped on attached photo and dialogue box says " open with photos or Gallery" I tapped photos, then is says once or forever I tapped forever. Now when I tap an attachment from that sender is displays a random photo from that sender. How can I change back to original settings from this user.

Go into Settings > Applications > Default applications. You should see a listing of apps you have set as a default... and you can change those to your liking from there.

Whenever i try to open ff, popup says another ff is already open, but it's not

i tried to fix the back button issue by renaming the profile folder( or whatever you call it). when i tried to restart ff, a pop up said i already had ff open, and i could not have two open. but it was not already open. now it is totally impossible to open ff at all.

Continuing from the title... If it is already open, make it the active window before continuing with script. And if it's not already open, simply open it and continue with script. I have become very confused trying to get this procedure

A running instance of the "example.xlsx" is never detected and made the active window, so the first if block never executes. It always opens a new instance of "example.xlsx". What am I doing wrong? ...I'm a novice at this

Restart already opened bounded taskflow in UIShell

Hello,
I am using Jdev 11.1.1.6 with ADF BC and ADF Faces as technology stack.
My application is using UIShell to open multiple tabs showing BTF implemented using jsff. We are using "TabContext.getCurrentInstance().addOrSelectTab" to open tabs i.e. one taskflow can be opened only once.
User can open screens using Application menu. So far so good.
Now, I have a requirement that a particular screen [ScreenA] can be opened from menu as well as from other page [ScreenB].
Use case: When ScreenA is opened using menu, it should show all records but when it is opened from ScreenB then it should filter based on user's selection on ScreenB.
I am able to achieve all of this when ScreenA is not already open. When it is already open, it simply selects that tab and does not restart the taskflow so "filter record" activity is not executed.
Questions:
a) Is there a way to achieve this use case?
b) If there is a way, Is it recommended to do this?

Use the tabContext reference to find the tab and close it prior to re-opening. Another option would be to get a hold onto the af:region instance that is contained in the tab and call refresh() on it, in which case the task flow also re-starts
b) If there is a way, Is it recommended to do this?
