Attach rar file in the mail

My company IronPort has limited outgoing mail attachment size to 13MB. Recently, I found that when I send a mail attached with a rar file (10MB), the IronPort has detected the message size is over 13MB. Actually, the message body contains few words and the attachment size is around 10MB.
I don't understand why when I attach a rar file in the mail. the mail size will be increased around 33%. I also tried sending rar in yahoo mail and got the same results. Do anybody know the reason??

How can I also strip the attachment if the executable is compressed (.zip or .rar)?
This is a complicated question. A message filter can peek inside archive files, but not compressed solitary files. In other words, a .exe file inside a ZIP archive can be detected. But a .exe file that has been gzipped (file.exe.gz), will not be detected.
The full explanation is in the "Policy Enforcement" chapter of the Advanced User Guide.

    How to attach a file to the mail

    I know that this can be done when going to any PDF program and push (send as  email)
    This also can done with multiple files or even with separate pages from that PDF file (Many programs can do that, like: PDF expert, Adobe Reader, iBooks, PDF Provider, Documents, etc)
    But what if I begin to wright an email, then I wanted to attach a file (such as PDF, or word, or any file) , FOR BASIC APPLE MAIL IT IS UNAVAILABLE
    You can attach Photo or Video but not PDF or other document
    There are some email programs that can attach files to email such as my.mail (as you can see from the photo)
    But why Apple don't provide such simple service ???

    message.setText(msg_txt);Don't do this. You want a multipart message. You want the msg_txt
    to be the first part of the multipart, which you do below.
                   // Final message = part1 + part2
                   Multipart mp = new MimeMultipart();
                   message.setContent(mp);
                   // Message part 1 is text - add to multipart
                   MimeBodyPart m1 = new MimeBodyPart();
                   m1.setContent(msg_txt, "text/plain");m1.setText(msg_txt); // would be better
                   mp.addBodyPart(m1);
                   // Message part 2 is binary (file to send)
                   MimeBodyPart m2;
                   // Support multiple file send (separated by ";")
    FileDataSource fds = new
    new FileDataSource(Attachfiles1);
                        m2 = new MimeBodyPart();
                        m2.setDataHandler(new DataHandler(fds) );
    m2.setFileName( new File(Attachfiles1).getName() );Since you're using JavaMail 1.4, you can replace much of the above
    with simply:
    m2.attachFile(Attachfiles1);
    But none of the problems above should prevent your code from working.
    You do understand, of course, that the name of the file is a filename
    on the server, not the client that's running the browser, right?
    When you say "its not working", what exactly do you mean?

  • I have a jpeg signature for a signature in Mail account. When I attach another file to the email and se nd it to a Windows -operated recipient, my signature becomes an attachment as well and only the body of the email message is left.

    I have a jpeg I have added for a profeesional look to my signature in my Mail acount. When I attach other files to the message and send the message to a Widows-user recipient, the signature is no no seen as a signature and simply becomes an attachment with the email.
    What can I do to stop this happening. Thanks

    I have a smart which i am able  to convert it to a pdf file...now.. can any one tell me how to attach a pdf file to the mail through workflow

    Hi,
    To create the task for attachment
    Use the BOR SELFITEM and method NOTES_APPEND.
    The out come of this task contain a link called attachment with a clip attached. Clisk on that icon and choose the type of attachment u want . RAW , EXCEL , TXT , PDF... Then using the import icon u can attach the document u like.
    But the TYPE : OBJ.
    Similarly using NOTE_DISPLAY method u can display the documents u like.
    In any work item u have the facility to attach any atttchment for further circulation .
    Attchment @ WORKITEM
    1.Click the workitem for which you want to create the attchment
    2.Press create attachment
    3. Add the attachment u like (PDF)
    Reward points for useful answer.

    How do I attach a file to a Mail doc without the file being opened in the Mail document?

    You will (often) see a preview of the attachment, depending upon the file type.  To get rid of the preview: control click on the attachment select "View as icon".
    (What the recipient of your message sees is dictated by that person's email application.  If you want to make sure the person gets an attachement which is not previewed, you can zip it (control-click, "Compress...") and then attach the zipped file(s).  Or you can try something like Attachment Tamer.)

    Edit > Attachments > Insert Attachments at End of Message. If a new message is the active window, the option applies only to that message. If you don't have a new message open, then the option becomes Always Insert Attachments at End of Message.

  • How do I attach multiple files from the pages app to my email

    I'm trying to attach multiple documents from the "Pages" app to my email.  I'm using an ipad.  It is only letting me attach one at a time and send each document as individual emails.  I would like to be able to send one email with all 4 documents at the same time.  Any suggestions?
    Another thought- When I go to my gmail app to compose an email, I have the following to send:
    to:
    cc:
    subject:
    But there is not a paperclip to click to attach any documents either.  Is this all connected and something in my ipad settings needs to be adjusted?

    You can only attach one file at a time to email in the Pages app
    You cannot attach files in the mail app. If you want to email a file, you do it from within the app where the file is saved such as what you did with Pages.

    You cannot. The Attach code in browsers means let user browse file system. You cannot access the file system, therefore the mobile version of Safari doesn't allow it.

  • HT4623 How do we save a attachment which comes with the mail and where?

    IHow do we save a attachment which comes with the mail and where?

    What type of file is the attachment ? You first need an app on your iPad then supports the type of file that you want to save on the iPad - unlike a 'normal' computer the iPad doesn't have a file system, and everything on it has to be associated with an app. If you have an app that supports the type of file that you want to save, then pressing and holding the attachment might (if the app supports it) give a popup with options to save ('open in') the attachment in your app.

  • Can I create a fillable PDF that allows the user to attach a file to the submitted form?

    There are suggestions in the Help documentation and on this site that indicate it is possible to attach files to a fillable PDF form that is being submitted. But I do not see any instructions for adding this functionality to a form. I am using Acrobat 9 Pro to create my form. I have a Submit button with an Action/Menu Item/Submit a form option, and the URL link for the submission is a local coldfusion file with a #FDF suffix. The export format is HTML. The form also contains a hidden EMAILTO field, with an Options/DefaultValue option identifying the recipient's email address. (I'm guessing the local cfm file uses this field.) There is also a hidden URL field in the form, and its Options/DefaultValue specifies the URL of the fillable form itself. (Perhaps the local cfm file uses this field too.)
    How can I add functionality to this form, using Adobe/PDF, to allow the user who submits the form to attach a file to the submission?

    You have to first configure a text field so it can be used for file selection. You do this on the Options tab of the field properties dialog. In order to select the corresponding check box, make sure only the "Scroll long text" option is selected.
    You then can set up a button that has the following JavaScript attached to the Mouse Up event:
    // Mouse Up script for button
    getField("upload_text_field").browseForFileToSubmit();
    Replace "upload_text_field" with the actual name of the file selection text field.

    Firefox doesn't do email, it's a web browser.
    If you are using Firefox to access web mail, you need to seek support from your service provider or a forum for that service.
