"Attach to Email" option launches outlook rather than default mail client

The "Attach to Email" option luanches outlook rather than Seamonkey, which is set to be the default mail client.  Any ideas regrding fixing this would be most appreciated.  This is Adobe Acrobat 9 PRO v. 9.0.0 running on a 64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium 4.0 GB machine.
Thanks,

Not sure but this might be a Windows Control Panel Issue.

  • Submit By Email Doesn't Launch Outlook 2010 as Default Mail Client, though Outlook is properly set a

A form designed in LiveCycle Designer with a Submit By Email button, doesn't launch Outlook 2010 (Standard Edition) when clicked, although Outlook is properly configured as Default Mail Client.  Checked with Microsoft and followed all proper steps yet the button doesn't invoke Outlook onClick.  However, Outlook is launched if a link or html button, set to the mailto syntax is clicked.  Is this a PDF form issue for LiveCycle or is there something I am missing?  Please any ideas?

I have this problem on Win7 64bit, but it seems to work fine with XP and Vista. Not sure about Win7 32bit.
I've also seen the problem in the past with programs like Thunderbird set to be the default email client (on XP).
I've never been able to figure out if it's an Adobe or Microsoft problem. Adobe uses the MAPI settings to find the email client.

  • Adobe Reader XI not recognizing Outlook as a default mail client! Help!

Reader XI keeps telling me that there is no default mail client... when in fact Outlook is the default mail client! I have unistalled & re-installed reader xi... still same propblem. Working on a Windows 7 computer  with Outlook 2013.

What does it say in Reader under Edit>Preferences>Email Accounts?

  • Send file as email not working when Outlook 2013 is default mail client

Have Adobe Reader XI 11.0.2 installed.  Running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit with Office 2013 installed.  When I set Default E-mail Application to Microsoft Outlook from Preferences I receive the following error trying to send any file as an e-mail:
"Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request.  Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client."
I have toggled Microsoft Outlook 2013 off and back on as the default e-mail handler in the Default Programs of the Control Panel, but this has not resolved the issue.
I am guessing this may be a new bug since Outlook 2013 only recently came out, but if not, and someone has a fix, please let me know.
    Thank you,
    - Brian

Please try the steps mentioned at: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/813745 and check whether the issue is resolved or not.
If not, then try starting the outlook in safe mode using (Outlook.exe /safe) and check the issue again.
Hopefully, these will resolve your issue.

  • HT2506 How to set outlook as the default mail client for Preview

When I try to us Preview to email PDFs the Apple Mail client is the default mail client that opens. I use Lion and would like to set Outlook as my default. Does anyone know how to do this? It has been suggested that you click command-P, select PDF and add Outlook there but there are no options to do this. I am stuck and would like some help. I am using outlook:mac2011 version 14.1.4 and Preview 5.5.1
    Cheers

I did not find a way to change the target application for the "New Email with Attchment" service for files and folders. However, you can follow this instruction here to create ANOTHER service, that will use Outlook: http://www.officeformachelp.com/2010/11/create-a-service-to-attach-files-to-a-ne w-outlook-for-mac-mail-message/
    Hope this helps. Sebastian.

  • Set Microsoft Outlook as the default mail client.

Every time I am trying to sync my calendar, notes and mail account with my iPhone through iTunes I keep getting a notifactions saying 'Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client'.
The problem is that Outlook IS the default client.
Why can iTunes not complete this task for me...
Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 Build 14.0.4536.1000 64-bit.
    Thanks.

I'm getting this and it's really annonying. The Nokia PC Suite provided a basic but functional PC calendar. Surely there's a simple PC client for the iPhone Calendar somewhere. I use Outlook Express and started using Outlook 2002 to manage my calendar but since a recent iTunes upgrade it's stopped working, giving this "default mail client" error. When I set Outlook to be the default mail client it made no difference.
Apple - you've scored an own goal here. Something that did work now doesn't work, and the only thing that's changed is your software.
I don't doubt it's down to compatability with M$ Outlook Add-ins, but they've not changed.

  • Adobe "attach as email" operation with Outlook set as default client.

    Case 1:
I have adobe reader installed and have multiple outlook profiles. Outlook is closed and now i perform "attach to email" operation from adobe, choose profile dialog is not displayed and email is sent from default profile account.
    Case 2:
Start Outlook and choose a profile to log on. After launching outlook, perform "attach to email" operation from adobe. Compose message window is display and send, message goes out. Message goes out from the account of default profile.
In Case 1, Other applications like mspaint and winword, user is prompted to choose profile.
In Case 2, email goes out from the profile from which user is logged onto the Outlook.
I wanted to know about above observations and whether it is expected behaviour with adobe or a bug?

Not sure but this might be a Windows Control Panel Issue.

  • Outlook 2013 (Office 365 Install) unable to set Default Mail Client

After installing Office 2013 via Office 365 for Business, the installation is unable to set Outlook as the default mail client.  Message appears after each system reboot:
"Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request.  Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client."
When going into Control Panel and manually set the Outlook client as the default, the setting does not take.  After a reboot, the warning message reappears.
Anyone else having the same issue?

No but then again it is a Beta. Did you clean install or update?  9926 seems to be relatively stable.

  • Emailing photos as attachments rather than embedded in email text

    Hi
I have set my mail preferences to send emails as plain text rather than RTF.
    Here is what happens
Route 1) I export a photo from iphoto to my desktop, then open the Mail program, create a new email to my friend who uses Outlook on WIndows, and ATTACH the photo from my desktop. Whilst from my mac end, it looks as though the photo is embedded in the text of the email, when my friend receives it in Outlook, the photo is "attached" just as I wanted it to be, and is not embedded in the text. So route 1 works
Route 2) I select the photo in iphoto and click the Email icon within iphoto at the bottom right of the screen. The email program opens and the photo appears (as before) to be embedded in the email text rather than attached. This time when I send this to a friend using outlook on Windows, the email arrives with the photo still embedded in the body of the email, and not as an attachment. So this route does not work
Any ideas why route 2 is overriding the preference settings an sending in RFT (assuming that is what it is doing)? Can I change this?
Is there a way to make the "Email" icon in Mail work the same way - i.e. to attach the photo as an attached file rather than embed in the text of the email?
I ask because I send photos for people to save in original size and format so they can print - embedded photos in the text are no good for this
    Thanks

You should deselect having iPhoto include any caption or file names. Having those following each photo is likely the source of this behavior. When sending to such recipients, you should have all attachments last in the message, and with no text following or between them.
Also, when the message appears in the Compose window, an extra safeguard is to then click on Format in the menubar, and choose Make Plain Text. I use Aperture, rather than iPhoto, and always do this step, and would also do with iPhoto.

  • I use Mail. How do I attach a file as an icon rather than showing the full text in the message?

I use Mail for my email messages. How do I attach a file as an icon rather than showing the full text in the message box?

Glad you got it working! Incidentally, if you have a relatively new Apple mouse (Magic Mouse or Mighty Mouse should work), you should be able to enable right-click, if you'd like it, by going to System Preferences - Mouse - and turning on "Secondary click". Third-party mice, like Logitech or Microsoft, should have right-click automatically.

  • Attach as email locking up Outlook

    Hello All,
This issue just started. Whenever one of my users uses the attach to email option the email will show up with two of the same attachments on two separate attachment lines and the email as well as Acrobat will freeze. We are using Acrobat Standard 8.  Any suggestions?
    Regards,
    Rob

With the x64 system, you may have to either upgrade to AA X or save the PDF and then attach it. Adobe does not consider AA8 compatible with Win7, particularly Win7 X64, though a few folks have succeeded to use it. The problem may actually be a 64-bit outlook. I am only guessing. Hopefully some folks who have been successful with AA8 will drop by and share their experiences.

I have a similar problem: I switched from mac mail to Outlook 2011 as the default client, and want to switch back. Mailto links (eg from browser etc) default to Mail.  However, when I try to email a Word document as an attachment, it continues to open Outlook.  Outlook has a button in its prefs for making it the default client, but I don't see a way to turn this pref off in either Outlook or in Word.
