Attached digital images of 3+MB are received as 200+KB

I am trying to send 7 digital images of 3-4 MB as attachments for publishing. On receipt & on checking the 'sent email' they appear to be automatically compressed to 200-300KB. I have tried sending as Jpegs & uncompressed TIFF but it makes no difference. HELP PLEASE!!

Try composing another message with an attached photo, and then observe the Resize Button at the bottom right of the Compose Window. I suspect it will read something other than Actual Size? Perhaps Small?

  • Attached images send properly, but are received as characters

    Please help with this problem (and many thanks for any suggestions):
    I've been running 10.5.5 and Mail 3.2 with no problems, and sending images on a daily basis. Today, however, Mail has begun to send images properly (the e-mail in the "Sent" folder shows there is an attachment, and the image is visible), but the recipient (including CC's to myself) sees only characters, no attachment at all.
    Example of a received e-mail:
    --Apple-Mail-1--283640201
    Content-Type: text/plain;
    charset=US-ASCII;
    format=flowed

  • Why do I get ?'s instead of images when e-mails are received?

    Why do I get a question mark instead of an image when I receive e-mails?

    When you receive email in HTML format (that is, as a web page), the message will usually contain links to images hosted on a remote server. When you display those images, the sender of the message will know that you've read his message, when you read it, who your ISP is, and approximately where you are. You may regard this as an invasion of your privacy. If the message is spam, then your address has been confirmed as valid and you've been confirmed as someone who opens spam messages. That will ensure you get even more spam.
    If you're using the Mail application, you can prevent that information from being sent out. Select
    Mail ▹ Preferences ▹ Viewing
    from the menu bar and uncheck the box marked
    Display remote images in HTML messages
    You'll still be able to display images when you want to by clicking the button marked
    Load Images
    in the top right corner of the message window. If you do want the images to load automatically, check the box.

    Quit iPhoto and delete your iPhoto preference file - "your username" ==> library ==> preferences ==> com.apple.iPhoto.plist - when you launch iPhoto a fresh new default preference file will be created - reset any personal preferences you may have changed and teh location of hte iPhoto library if you have changed that

  • When I try to print my book I receive the following error message:  One or more of the images in your book are not presently available at full resolution. Please reconnect to these files by mounting the volume(s) containing the original images.

    When I try to print my book, I receive the following error message:  One or more of the images in your book are not presently available at full resolution. Please reconnect to these files by mounting the volume(s) containing the original images.  I don't understand what this means since all the photos are in the book.  Can someone please clarify?

    When you look at the images in the browser, do you see any arrow icons on your thumbnails? Like these:
    When you import your images from a folder on your system drive, you have two ways to import:
    Managed: Import and store the images in the library
    Or referenced: Leave the images in the folder outside the Aperture library.
    This is controlled by the "Store Files" settings in the Import panel:
    If you did not set "Store files" to "In the Aperture Library", the originals will stay in the folder outside.
    The error message you get, suggests that Aperture assumes the original files are in a folder outside the library.
    Select one of your images in the Browser and use the command "File > Show in Finder" - is this command available or dimmed out?

    Someone is probably sending spam with your address forged on the To: line.  Could be one of your old contacts with a Windows machine has a virus that's doing it.  It's also possible your e-mail account has been hacked, though I'd think such a hacker would be a bit more purposeful.

  • I can attach an image to SAP CRM WebUI but was not able to view it

    Dear Experts,
    I was trying to attach an image document to SAP CRM WebUI through cl_crm_documents (Method :- create_with_table) by passing the binary value.
    I receive a string value for the image from IOS team and I convert the same to Xstring and binary in the code. And pass the binary value to the method "create_with_table".
    And I could see the document gets attached. When I try to open the same. The image looks like a small cross bar(i.e :- As if we try to open an unsupported file format.) Though I tried passing both jpeg and png files.
    On the other hand, when I try to attach the same image manually in WebUI. I could view the attached image perfectly. Please find the below code snippet I have used.

    Thanks for the response. If you go through my code snippet I have given, I have already mentioned the mimetype as "application/pdf" for pdf document and used the same in my coding. It still doesnt help out.

  • No longer able to attach .jpg images in Mail...

    I'm having problems attaching .jpg images in Mail. This problem started two or three days ago. I can attach .zip files, but I'm unable to attach .pdf or .jpg files. I have not tried other formats, as these are the two most common formats used.
    Has anyone else experienced this issue?
    Cheers. -m

    There was a discussion posted on this a while back:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1545970&start=0&tstart=0
    I get this problem on my PPC, but not my Intel machine. Instead of using Server Admin, best to set this value (maxAttachmentSize) in the /etc/wikid/wikid.conf file. The value in Server Admin will still show '0', but I was still able to attach files up to the size I specified in the wikid.conf file.

    You are getting your file attached correctly, but you still need to reference it within your HTML text so it will be displayed. You can do this with the cid (content-id) tag. Something like this should work:
    <img src="cid:attach_1">
    "attach_1" can be any name you specify when you attach the file to the message.
    Hope this helps.
