Attaching files to email

Quick question. My company does not support MSFT Entourage, so I installed Win XP in Boot Camp and now have MSFT Office so I can run OutLook. The issue is, 99% of the files I create are from Office 2008 for Mac. Currently while in Windows, I have no way of seeing the files from OSX let alone attaching them.
Do I need to get Fusion 2.0? This there some other trick I should know about?
Suggestions welcome, Thx

Hi and welcome to Discussions,
Windows can not see or use the Mac OSX partition without the help of a third-party programm like MacDrive http://www.mediafour.com/products/macdrive/

  • Recently, I have not been able to attach files to emails using the MobileMe webmail system.

When trying to attach files to emails using the MobileMe webmail system, it lets me browse and click on a file but then does nothing and there is no actual attachment. It previously always worked. I checked with the MobileMe folks and they said it is a browser problem. (True, it works in Safari.) Any ideas on how to fix this? I prefer Firefox, of course.

    Hi davebundy-
One suggestion I've heard is that ad block may be perceiving the mail client as an advertisement. The solution was to mark the webmail URL as safe with any ad block plugins or software you have. Hope that helps.

  • Can't attach files to emails

I recently upgraded to a G5 Dual 2GHz system running OS X Tiger. I am having trouble attaching files of any kind to email. I have email accounts with Charter High Speed Cable, and a SquirrelMail account with APlus.net (who hosts my Website).
On my older Beige G3 tower, I never had a problem. As soon as I got the new machine up and running, I lost the ability to attach files using either account.
I know it is a system issue of some sort, because I can attach files to emails from either account from remote locations. I can receive attached files, but can't send attached files.
Are there any known conflicts with Tiger that could be a culprit? Could it be fax software or Norton Antivirus?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • After upgrade I cannot attach files to emails in mobileme.

upgraded to 7.0.1 and now I can't attach files to emails using mobileme.
I changed to Internet explorer and it works.

i have the same problem on a Mac after upgrading Firefox, no errors, just nothing is happening after clicking on the attachment button. I can add the attachment by drag and drop, but then the receiver tells me he or she received my message with a big red cross through the attachment.

  • My iMac wont attach files to email

    iMac OS X 10.6.8
HELP! My iMac has stopped attaching files to email. I have tried yahoo and gmail on both safari and firefox. I havent had any issues until this week.

OK, when you hear the startup tone hold down the Shift key on your keyboard until a progress bar appears on the display. Let it fully boot in Safe Mode then, as mentioned early restart normally and re-test.
Also you can always use Google to search for things like "OS X Safe Mode start" and you will find Apple's instructions on-line.

  • Cannot attach files to emails

Over a year ago I could not attach a pciture to an outgoing email when using firefox as my browser and yahoo as my email. Then it started working again and now it is not working again. I type an email and try to attach a file and I cannot. If I sign in thru internet explorer I can attach the file without any problems. Any help would be appreciated on why I cannot attach a file to an emailk with firefox as my browser.

Just installed Pure 2.0 as an upgrade to Kas Internet Security on my ASUS pc laptop. Firefox 18.0.2 has automatically disabled Kas URL Advisor 12.0.1.311, Anti-Banner, and Virtual Keyboard. are these or any other issues w/Pure 2.0 responsible for suddenly corrupting Firefox or my webmail server's ability to attach files to emails just after i had installed Pure? i need your help determining whether that's the cause or simply correlation.
when i try to attach any file to an email message, my email pops up a blank window with the following address: http://md03.quartz.synacor.com/service/upload?fmt=extended
WHAT HASN'T FIXED THE PROBLEM: 1. a tech service call to my isp who thinks Kas Pure is the issue since all isp diagnostics check out ok. 2. disabling Pure didn't allow for attaching files. 3. neither did uninstalling it. 4. neither did re-installing using Kas-supplied recovery disk which then needed massive updates.
WHAT TEMPORARILY WORKED AROUND THE PROBLEM: 1. restarting Firefox with add-ons disabled. THIS mode allowed attachments, but isn't sustainable. 2. IN ADDITION, as i re-enabled add-ons ONE AT A TIME i could successfully send an email attachment AT EACH POINT. once all-ons were back on and i restarted the computer, the problem returned. 3. sending email with attachments from Internet Explorer (i will not return to that browser!). 4. sending email with attachments through the same isp using our iMac.
i will now try the fix mentioned above.

  • Not able to attach files to email account from my hard drive

Firefox will not attach files (from my hard drive - mostly MS Word and PDF files) to my email accounts or job application sites. I tried using Internet Explorer and was able to attach files. So, the problem seem to be Firefox.
I prefer to use Firefox, so please help!

Try clear your recent history :

  • How to attach file in emails

Hi how can add attachment in emails

You email files from within the app that the file is created or saved.
Launch the app that contains the file that you want to email. Open the file. Look for a tools icon or a curved arrow icon in the upper right corner. Tap on it and you should see an option to email the file.

  • Attaching files to email - E90

Does anybody know how to attach a file on your phone to an email using the phone's email messaging application? I have been trying in vain. I use Blackberry connect on my phone. Secondly, if this is not possible is there any other better application around that would do the job.
The only one way I have been able to do this is get on the web on the E90 and use Hotmail to send an attachment (a file located on the phone itself). Gmail, unfortunately, does not provide the option to attach a file!!
if this could be done it would make the E90 truly portable. One could also then help use e-fax to send faxes directly from the phone.

You can setup your phone for IMAP Gmail which will allow you to attach files.

  • Firefox will not allow me to attach files to Emails in MobileMe

When I create a new email in MobileMe, I cannot attach a file to the email. I was always able to in previous versions, but since the latest update, nothing happens. I click on the 'attach file' icon, locate the file and click 'open', but nothing happens. It just goes back to the original email screen with nothing attached.

  • Why cant i attach files to emails I am sending?

All of a sudden Thunderbird will not allow me to attach files to outgoing emails. When i compose an email and either click on the paperclip icon or go to Files/Attach/Files, nothing happens. I can no longer get a Finder window (using Mac).

Nope. The other strange thing is that my tabs are acting a bit strange. In the past the main tab had my list of accounts and if I clicked on one of them it would switch the listing in the main window. Now I have to open up a new tab (control click and then select Open in New Tab) in order to be able to read the emails; otherwise everything freezes up.

  • Attaching file to email by accessing email via safari

it seems that there is no button in the email (yahoo. gmail etc) interface page for attaching files to the email to be sent via safari. i.e. cannot attach file if u access mailbox via safari. is that normal? hear that you need to tap the pre installed "MAIL' app on the ipad, set-up the email mail box, and accessing mailbox via the "MAIL" app, then attaching file is possible. why is it so?

In order to attach a file in an email - the app it self must support it. For instance, you can email a Photo in the Photos app by selecting the photo that you want to email and then tap the curved arrow icon in the upper right corner and select the email option.
Apple's Pages for the iPad allows you to email files as well - but you have to do it from the Pages App itself. Other apps also support the feature but as Meg explained, you can't attach a file in web mail - at least I haven't seen how to do it.

  • Your plug in crashed cannot attach files to emails what to do

keep trying to attach files as per usual to email. will not allow, just crashes, no error message except that the firefox plug in has crashed. no info on what to do. holding up a time urgent matter. tried many times, worked earlier today.

If you can't add attachments to Gmail messages then you need to add an allow exception to allow pop-ups for that Google website.
Easiest to do this is to click the padlock on the location bar and click the "More Information" button to open the "Tools > Page Info" window with the Security tab selected.
    Proceed to the Permissions tab
Remove the tick on "Open Pop-up Windows" > "Use Default" and click the Allow radio button to change the permission to allow pop-ups for this domain.
Google is looking into this issue, see:

  • Attach Files to Email Notifications

Has the below feature been added - Providing the actual attachment (or more likely a direct link to an attachment)? Thanks!

The email notifications only list the filenames and provide a general link back to the response file. Providing the actual attachment (or more likely a direct link to an attachment) is a very good idea. Will consider that for a future release.
    Thanks for your feedback!
    Randy

Sorry this is not possible to have the files attached to the email notification.
