Attaching LOV to a field using Personalizatin
Hi,
I am new to OAF.I have created an Employee OAF page in JDeveloper (path:xxemployee/oracle/apps/sqlap/employee/webui/EmployeePage) and deployed into Apps Instance R12.
I want to attach an LOV to Employee field.I want to create a new LOV instead of using standard LOV here.
As part of this,I have create a VO and LOV Region(path:xxemployee/oracle/apps/sqlap/employee/webui/EmployeeLOVRN).
Then I have opened Employee page from Apps Instance and clicked on 'Personalize Page'.
I have entered External LOV as '/xxemployee/oracle/apps/sqlap/employee/webui/EmployeeLOVRN) and clicked on Apply.
Then I faced the following Error:

Now when I click on 'About Page' of any form in Instance,Iam encountering the same Error.
Could anyone please let me know what this error is and how to resolve it.

Hi,
The error copied by you says that, application is not able to refer to the path "xxperson.oracle.apps.sqlap.person.server.PersonIdLOVRN" since it is not available in the Unix server.
Kindly check where you are refereing to this path.
You are facing the error only when you attach External LOV. So debug the LOV.
Coming to attach a custom LOV to custom page you can any one of these method's:
1) In Jdeveloper attach the LOV to required field and deploy(your page and LOV) into the Application
2) Follow method mentioned by user "781261".

Error in attaching LOV to a field
Hi,
I apologize that I'm fairly new to OAF, not sure what I'm doing... please help me in decipher my error message...
I have created a custom page - a search page, in my search page, I added a "Create" button to send me to the create page. In my create page, I have created an item with a LOV, it works fine.
Now, my users want to have another field in the create page to have LOV as well, I thought I did the same things as the first LOV, (1. Create a seperate LOV AM for the new field, 2. create a new LOV VO for that, 3. Add the new VO to the new LOV AM. 4. Create LOV region, 5. Add a table to LOV region
6. In my field - change it to be a "messageChoice" item style, 7. Picklist View Definition to be my new LOV VO, and appropriate Picklist Display/Value Attribute.
But when I ran my page, after my search page came up, when I hit the "Create" button, it throw me an unexpected error with the following msg...

select empno,ename,deptno from emp
and define return item for each column.
You can populate LOV manually at New_instance_item or Key_next_item

I am trying to get records from database using MS ADODB._connection & ADODB._Recordset objects (from LabVIEW 6)
I can:
1. open connection (with ADODB._connection)
2. write into tables (with ADODB._command)
I can not: gets records and update fields using ADODB._connection & ADODB._Recordset.
I do not know:
1. how to connect between the connection that was opened and the recordset object
2. where I can write the SQL text as input to the recordset

SJI'm not sure what you mean by referring to forms personalization. If your requirement is simply to be able to enter an accounting KFF via a DFF then you need to attach a value set of type 'Special' to your DFF segment. These are much trickier to get right than other value set types so I would suggest some careful reading of the flexug and also taking a look at some of the seeded value sets of this type.

I'm using Jdeveloper 11g.
Knowing that the tag below is used in LOV, Now I need to know how to change the LOV's table-field sizes? (I'm using the model-based LOV, and it's reading the attributes from the view object)

I need to customize the size of LOV's table-field manually, or based on the attribute's UI hint.
To do so, I have written the code below in the backing-bean:

You can change content Size for LOV by going to look up view object --> then to attribute ---> UI hint ---> form UI hint but the size of component in "Dispaly width" -

the problem is not the exported xls. If you have a look inside with Notepad or something like that, you will see that your leading zeros are exported correct.Excel-settings occurs this problem, it is all about how to open the document. If you use the import-assistant you will have no problems because there are options available how to handle the different columns.
Another solution might be to get familiar with ABAP2XLS-Project. I got in my mind, that there is a method implemented, that will help you solving this problem. But that is not a five minute job

I created 2 text entry fields on a form. Both contains a numeric value of the same LOV (a "from" field and an "to" field). Putting the focus in one of them results the selected value filled into the relevant field in Forms 6i.
Now I want ot migrate the form into 10g, and the value fills ALWAYS the first text entry independently of the focused item.
Please, help, how to solve this....

ZoltánSee the LOV properties "Automatic Select" and "Automatic Skip", a combination of them will make the LOV to automatically use the selected value and the focus will go to the next item (next item in navigation).

Date of birth (user age should be above 22yrs )
Email Validation
Phone validation
Resume attachment (should attach only word documents or PDF)
Qualification (If other is selected then show textbox else hide)
Can above validations be done using SharePoint designer (JavaScript or validation controls)? Or do I have to create custom control web part?

I think jquery/javascript can be used to put validations on those fields. Fortunately some of validation can be done via sharepoint itself like: email, phone, age. For Attachment and Qualification fields use jquery/JS.
