Attaching pdf files they do not open in adobe reader?

I just downloaded Mozilla as browser due to the many issues with IE. Now when attaching PDF files or trying to read PDF files they show up as a Mozilla icon or do not open with Adobe Acrobat.

That is because Firefox is set as default program for opening .pdf files by Windows.
There are two ways to change it.
1,
Right click on any pdf file --> choose "Open With" --> choose "Choose Default Program" --> now choose the application that you want to set as default for opening .pdf (in this case, Adobe reader.)

It sounds as if you downloaded Adobe Acrobat Pro. If you did, uninstall it. Then repair Adobe Reader.
The free Acrobat account has no connection to any of this.

Black Sabbath "13" Digital Booklet pdf Will Not Open in Adobe Reader

I recently purchased the new Black Sabbath 13 (Deluxe Version) album in iTunes and the pdf digital booklet will not open in Adobe Reader. I only get errors saying the file is either not supported, or is damaged. Any suggestions?

You may want to try deleting the digital booklet and downloading it again. This article explains how:

I cannot open pdf files from one supplier when using Adobe Reader but I can open it if using Google PDF viewer or another viewer. The Adobe reader gives the error "There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired" when I try to open the file. The version of Adobe Reader is 10.1.7, however I have tried other versions and they all fail the same way. I have tested on a number of different PC's in different networks and all fail using Adobe Reader but work using alternate viewer. Also the PC's will open a PDF from any other source.

Newer Reader versions are more strict than older versions (and other PDF viewers). If certain minimum requirements are not met, Reader will tell you that the PDF is damaged. This can happen when a document was created with software that does not adhere to PDF standards, or when the file was damaged during a download or email transmission.
You should contact the creator of these PDFs.

Are you launching Pages from an icon in your Dock? Installing the update does not change the Dock icons & it does not remove the older versions. Go to your Applications folder & launch the new Pages from there.

Adobe acknowledges problem with the latest Snow Leopard update 10.6.8 and with this work around, I can open PDF's using the Google Chrome Browser.

I have 5 computers running top end processors and RAM. By this I mean I have one, this one which I am using that has an AMD Phenom Black 3.2 Quad-core with 8 GBs of Corsair top DDR2 RAM, my other two AMD have either an Athlon II triple core with 4 GBs of DDR2 Corsair RAM, one with the Phenom X4 965 3.4 GHz Quad-core with 8 GBs of their best DDR2 RAM, and two Intels with the i7 920 Processors using the triple channel 1366 socket processors and one with 8 GBs of low latency DDR3 RAM and the other with 4 GBs of the same RAM. I am getting the message on this one, which has a fresh install of XP Pro X64 operating system, as do the other 4 as well. I have run Avast Business Pro Anti-virus on this one, which I am getting the message on with a single result which I deleted, and also both Spybot Search and Destroy, which came back clean as well as Malwarebytes Antimalware, which got a lot of tracing cookies now removed, and SuperAntiSpware which also found a few cookies also now deleted. Can you tell me what I need to do to get these files to show as .pdf files rather than as a clean blank page. One other issue is that I wish to know how to turn off my downloads so they are saved and Mozilla will give me the option of returning them instead of me losing them all together as it does now. Assuming you are running 10.10.2 and not the ancient 10.0.2, can you tell us what printer and printer driver you are using? How is the printer connected to the computer (network, usb)? See if you can delete the Reader preference files? Years ago I resetting the printer subsystem would sometimes cure a problem like this.

As has been mentioned Adobe Reader cannot export PDF page content. Nor can it create PDF or manipulate PDF page content.
What you can do is use one of Adobe's online subscription services. Two provide for PDF to Word export.
There's ExportPDF and PDF Pack.

PDF does not open in Adobe Reader 7

I am working on a project where we create PDF documents with FOP. The generated PDFs open in Version 6, 8 and 9 but NOT 7! We get an error
"There was a problem reading this document(114)" The document is partially rendered and disappears when you scroll down etc. I need to know is there a setting specific to Acrobat 7 that is causing this or is there something in the XSL mark-up that Acrobat 7 does not like. I am really under pressure for a fix on this one so any help or assistance is greatly appreciated.

Apache Fop http://xmlgraphics.apache.org/fop/ takes an xml file and combines with an xsl stylesheet to create a PDF. (Although we are using a .net verion FONET). This is a problem with Adobe Reader 7.0. I cannot upload a file since the material is highly confidential (a criminal record!) I can confirm that this has been tested on several machines. The PDF is valid and can be opened in Adobe Reader versions 6, 8, 9 and Foxit but not Reader 7. I can only assume that there is something in the generated PDF that Reader 7 does not like and perhaps this is a bug since the PDF can be opened in earlier and later verions but not 7!
