Attaching pictures to email.

Hi,
I sent some pictures by email yesterday and it work fine, the format was perfect. But today, when i went to attach pictures to a hotmail email, it took ages and the format was way too big. The only thing i can think of that could of created this change is that i modified a lot of the pictures today. (just sharpened a few and played around with lighting and so on). I'm on a mac OS X 10.4.6 and i'm using iphoto. Any ideas on how to resolve this problem??
Thanx
PoKa

Hi PoKa,
I am wondering how you attached iPhoto images to your hotmail account?
The easiest way to attach photos through iPhoto is using the Share > Email option, where you can adjust size of attachment, but I don't think you can use hotmail.
If I were you, this is what I would do. Open iPhoto, select a photo, use the Share > Export option, when the window opens you can select 'Scale images no larger than:' I would reduce them to 640 x 480 +/_ export to a folder on your desktop. You can log into Yahoo mail, simply find image and attach... I use yahoo and this seems to be the only fool proof way.
The reason you were attaching large files, I would assume you went through your pictures folder and used the 'thumbnails' initially and on your second time around your were using the orginals...

  • Safari 5 freezes when attaching picture to email

It looks like I'm not the only one with Safari problems. When I attempt to attach a jpeg file to an email in ATT/Yahoo email I suddenly get the beach ball and I can't get Safari to do anything including a forced quit. The same email with attached picture works just fine with Firefox.

    Ok...
Go to ~/Library/Internet Plugins. See if there are any Yahoo related files there.
Here's the path. Open a Finder window. Select your Home Folder on the left in the Sidebar. Then open the Library folder on the right then the Internet Plugins folder. Move anything Yahoo related to the Trash.
Relaunch Safari. If there weren't any Yahoo plugins, I just found this from Yahoo Help.
    How do I uninstall it?
You can manage the software from the "BrowserPlus Configuration Panel". This is launched on Mac from your "System Preferences".
Regardless of the operating system, the uninstaller will remove every trace of BrowserPlus from your system, including previous versions and any settings or preferences that have been set while you've used BrowserPlus-powered sites.
So open System Preferences/BrowserPlus and see if there's an uninstaller there.
If it's not there andyBall_uk says try here: ~/Library/Application Support/Yahoo/
    That's in your Home Folder.

  • RESIZING & ATTACHING PICTURES IN EMAIL THROUGH YAHOO

I am trying to just attach and send pictures from my Yahoo! email. But they are to big in iPhoto and I can't seem to figure out how to resize them (make them smaller pixels). Shouldn't there be some kind of option where I can resize them myself manually so I can send them without having to go through the Apple mail program? this is annoying me! =)

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. There are two ways you can do it.
1 - use the Mail program and set the image size you want, small, medium, large, etc. Once Mail is open and the photos are in the new email window, drag them to the desktop to use in your Yahoo Mail via the browser. Just use the Mail button and Mail application to quickly get the photos in the size you want.
2 - export the photos out of iPhoto to the desktop using the File->Export->File Export menu option with the Size option set to Custom. There you can set the maximum dimension to whatever you want in pixels.

  • After moving to Firefox 9 I cannot Attach pictures to email!!!

When I push Attach, a Firefox list appears and I need to double click on My Documents and then double click on My Pictures. At this point I scroll down to my folders and when I get ready to choose one, the whole thing disappears and I'm back to my e-mail. Then I attempt to push attach again and nothing happens. I am very upset with this problem. I used to have Internet Explorer until Thanksgiving and my son installed Firefox and the you kept urging an upgrade. Now we have a system which no longer operates properly. Please help. I want to send pictures to friends for New Years gifts.

    Hi ozzie427,
What URL do you have bookmarked as your home page? You might want to look at the Knowledge Base article [[How to set the home page]]. There are steps in there to restore the home page to default. I would try that first to see if it clears up any strangeness. If that works, you can set the home page to anything you like.
    Hopefully this helps!

  • How do I get my pictures to appear as an attachment in an email?

Suddenly I'm having issues with attaching pictures to emails.  I used to be able to email them to myself and an attachment would appear so I could send them to someone, or upload them somewhere, but now the simply show up as the message and do not give me the ability to save them as a .jpeg.  Is there a way I can correct this?

You've just described how Airplay works!

I am trying to scan document that I will then attach in an email.  When I attach it it shows up as a picture within the email instead of an attachment an people can't open it.  Any help here?

What kind of Mac are you using, and what version of the operating system?
You should be able to select the document that you want to attach and then use the contextual menu (right click in some worlds) to compress the document, producing a .zip file. You can then attach that to the email and it won't appear as a picture within the email.
If I recall this correctly, the "compress" part in the contextual menu may have a different terminology.

  • Getting rid of a picture attached to my email.....

    Friends,
My outgoing picture have a pic of myself in the upperright corner in the address section that in the past I must have made with Photobooth.
I can find nowhere why this picture is added to all outgoing mail. it is definitely not part of my signature.
Any idea how to get rid og it? Of note, it is not attachment, just sits there in the upperright corner.
    thanks
    Johan

The picture is not attached to your email and does not get sent to anybody.
It's the picture that is assigned to your "Me" account in the Address Book application. You will only see the picture on messages you send.
If you have assigned pictures to other addresses that you have in your Address Book and you receive a message from one of those people, you will see the picture of the person in the email. They don't send it to you, it's pulled from your Address Book.
This also works with my iPhone. Incoming calls from people in my sync'd Address Book show a picture of the caller on the iPhone screen, if they call from a telephone number that I've got listed in my Address Book.

  • Picture files won't attach to composed emails.

Picture files from iPhoto and/or desktop will not attach to outgoing email, thru gmail or comcast, need suggestions please.

You are working in Pages for iCloud, which autosaves your document content in iCloud. You get a web archive document, because you are telling the Safari browser to save the current web page, not your actual Pages document content.
If you want to share the Pages for iCloud document content, you should choose Tools from the toolbar, and Send a Copy from that menu. This will pop a choice of PDF, Pages, or Word document formats. If for instance, you chose Word, Pages will convert its content to Word format, and a new dialog will appear and a blue Email button. Selecting Email will pop a new Email window with the Word document attached.

  • Ios 7 picture attachment  bugging in email and message

    Hi ,
    Since the update
    i notice the following
i cant attached pictures into an email or onto a text message
I tried selecting a picture from text message and from an email by clicking insert , it doesn't work
I tried by the camera rolls to select them and add them to an email, it doesnt work either
    Iphone 4S ios 7

The only solution I've seen that seems to consistently work is the one posted by Brackers28 here: https://discussions.apple.com/message/23020591#23020591.  This only works if you still have access to your old email account.  If you don't, you'll have to have Apple help you reset the password for your old account so you can turn off Find My iPhone.

  • I can't view pictures attached to am email on my phone. Please help

Hi there, I can't seem to open up attached pictures in my emails . Usually Jpeg files. Is there something I need to download. It gives me a 'no viewer available' error message when I try to open them up.
I'd appreciate any advice on how to resolve this. Thanks

To test if the Photo viewer is working on your z10 and not the .jpg file itself to see if it is currupted. Simple test, go into your picture program, select a .jpg image, click and hold for a second until slider appears on the right. Slect share, slect Email, and send it to yourself. When the email comes back to your z10. click on the image and see if it opens it up.

  • Mail showing attached pictures from previous email after upgrade to Mavericks

My Apple Mail app is configured to show the email body in the bottom pane when I select an email in the email list in the top pane.
I receive emails on a scheduled basis from a security camera.  The email contains attached pictures.
THE BUG: After upgrading to Mavericks, when I am in Mail and am going from one email to the other, the image does not refresh to the image from the newly selected email.  It continues to display the images from the first email that was selected.
Is this a known issue.  Has anyone else seen this?
    Thanks,
    Al.

  • Howdo i attach pictures in my yahoo email

When i try to attach pictures in my yahoo email I get this error: An internal error occurred when attempting to attach the Bonzai-Charlie & New Family.jpg. (83KB) i contacted AT&T and they said i needed to contact you that it was a browser proble. i have no problem if i go through Internet explorer.

With Firefox version 5, check that you have NOT blocked "Plugin Container for Firefox". That was why I could NOT send attachments. When I changed it to Permit All I was able to send attachments again. Hope this helps.
