  • Creating a custom Flash Player

I am totally new to Flash Builder and currently downloading the trial version. While I am waiting, is this the correct product for me?
I have a VP6 Alpha Channel .flv movie (transparent background). I would like to create a custom flash player for my website to display and control this movie. The player needs the following properties:
    1. Play the movie transparently (using "wmode"?)
    2. Play, pause, volume and exit buttons on the control bar
    3. Autohide control bar
    4. Logo / text on the control bar
    5. Ability to unload itself after the movie ends
Is this the right product for me? If so, any links on how to create this player would be useful. If not, which product do I need?
    Many thanks for your help.

  • Cannot rewind Cpativate to slide 0 in custom Flash player

In a custom Flash player for Captivate and other swf content,
the captivates I load start on slide 1, not 0.
    Neither or these work:
    rdcmndPrevious = 1
    rdcmndRewindAndPlay = 1
to take them back to slide 0 - they both take it to slide 1.
The only solution I found is inserting a blank slide in the
Captivate source before publishing the swf. Then, the content
behaves fine in my custom player.
Anyone know why this might be?

    Hi,
    Perhaps this FAQ will help?
How do I manually install Flash Player on my Android device?

  • Create a custom Flash Player tutorials?

    Greetings,
Does anyone know of some easy to use tutorials I can use for
    creating a custom Flash Player.
What I am after is a simplified player that I can embed in
projects initially created using Macromedia/Adobe Captivate. The
Player needs to be simple and can be built into the swf/fla project
(if possible, another version that would stand outside the project
and play a swf embedded on an html page).
This may fall under the heading od "skinning", but what I
want needs to be versitile and customizable.
    Thank you,
    TPK

I don't really know how to do this but I've seen some things that make me think it isn't that hard to do at all.
You should be able to install "cue points" when you encode the video in the Media Encoder.
I'm sure there's a very simple way to make links which would target those cue points.
    5k is absurd.

  • I want to build a custom flash player for my desktop

I want to build a custom flash player for my desktop, using C# and Visual Studio 2008. Where do I start? I just want a real simple one to play swf files. Play, stop, loop, full screen, normal size. I'll start there. Where do I go? I've searched the web for an answer, and found several example projects that don't compile, or are incomplete. It's very frustrating. This shouldn't be that difficult.

I think you started the right way - looking for example programs.
If they won't compile, then they probably contain errors.  Fix the errors until they compile.  Then develop your own extensions.
This is one way of developing applications, the other way is starting from scratch.

  • Random question about the flash player

Hi, to make this question simple... I was wondering if the
flash player could somehow be hindered by windows vista?
I ask because I have a laptop running Vista, and a Linux box
right next to me, and I dual boot Ubuntu on my laptop. When I test
my application on the Linux boxes, they run exactly as I have
programmed them. The only machine where my application gets screwed
up is on the Vista OS. I started to think that maybe Vista screws
with the flash players ability to function, could that be possible
or even true? I mean, I think SilverLight is a competitor of the
Flash Player, so I guess that's where my conspiracy theory comes
from. Any thoughts or input? Yes there could be a bug in my code.
I'm iterating through the display list and applying "x" tweens to
them, moving them all to x = 5. some of the display objects don't
make it to coordinate 5, and so go beyond. I attached part of my
code that moves the thumbnails. you can view it here on the web:
    kurtcom.com/actionscript3/PhotoProgram.swf

The camera is the object called camFrame in the FLA. It is
shaped like a rectangle. Simply copy the camFrame to any other FLA
and it will work. Note that it will base its measurements on the
Stage size in your new FLA. So the camFrame should be resized to
the Stage size (e.g. 550 x 400) to start with, and then resized
    proportionally.
If you apply a tint to the camFrame, it will tint the entire
scene. Thus, you can do a neat fade-in by applying a black 100%
tint to the camFrame in frame 1, and then removing the tint in
frame 20 (for example) and applying a tween.

  • Custom flash player (not flv) working with custom flash content

I am working on a custom player of swf content. Some of the
content the player loads and plays is custom Flash content (swf
    files) such as games.
Depending on how the external content is built, sometimes the
pause button for the player will not pause everything in the loaded
    content swf.
Does anyone know of a standard approach to such a problem?
    Thank you.

Windows 7, and I have tried it on chrome, firefox, and IE

  • Question on Adobe Flash Player Installer/Uninstaller 12.0 r0

Okay, I have windows 7 home premium 32bit installed on a dell vostro 400. I'm using 2 browsers, Internet explorer 11 and Firefox the latest version.  I have found that an installation of a plug-in and an activeX extension work in internet explorer and It's really confusing as to which one is for which sometimes.
I need someone to to help me with Adobe® Flash® Player Installer/Uninstaller 12.0 r0.  It's causing some problems for web browser based email clients and slows down almost to a hault then won't close at all after it crashes.
Is there any way I can clean & fix Adobe® Flash® Player Installer/Uninstaller 12.0 r0 with out removing flash cookies when using internet explorer?
Is there any way I can have firefox block flash play from playing anything?

First, there are two Flash Players for Windows (three if you count Chrome's PepperFlash plug-in)
ActiveX is for IE - IE needs it because it uses 1993 ActiveX controls for security, which is not really secure at all, and complicates everything you do with IE.
Tha standard plug-in is for Firefox, Opera, Safari and several other lesser known browsers like Maxthon and Seamonkey.
If you use IE and another browser, you nee both, and they both need to be up to date. As Imentioned Chrome has its own which updates through the browser.
To make sure you're up to date for both, download the following:
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
    Flash Player Uninstaller
    Also, download these:
    Shockwave Player Uninstaller
Shockwave Player 112 FULL installer (ther browsers)
You'll need to install Shockwave with the FULL installer for IE too, but there isn't a direct download for it. You'll need to go to: http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/otherversions/ using IE AFTER everything else is done.
Save all the files and close your browser.
Run the uninstallers first (both of them)
    Go to: C/Windows/System32
    Delete the Macromed folder.
Open your Registry Editor (Start>Run or press the Windows key + R and type 'regedit' [minus the quotes] and click OK)
In the Registry Editor, go to:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE
Delete the Macromedia folder (Right click and choose "Delete").
    Go to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software and delete the Macromedia folder there too.
Close the Registry Editor and empty your recycle bin.
Run the Flash Player installers, and then the Shockwave FULL installer you downloaded.
Lastly, open IE and go to: http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/otherversions/ to download and install the Shockwave FULL installer for ActiveX (IE).
For Firefox, I recommend FlashBlock (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/flashblock/) It's prevent ANY Flash content from loading until you allow it manually. It can get to be a pain, but you eventually get used to it.

  • How much work is it to create a custom flash player with chapter navigation

I am bidding on a job to do a simple instructional video that will be about 2 minutes in length.  The client wants me to put the video in a flash player that has some buttons on it that a user can click on to go to a specific step.  The instructions will have, for example, 10 steps, so they want to be enable the view to click on any one of the step numbers to jump to that point in the video.
I did a google search for flash programmers who would quote me on how much they would charge me to create the flash player after I sent them an encoded video.  The only company that bothered to give me a quote said that it would be 5 to 7 thousand dollars for them to create a flash player with navigation for me.  I was thinking that this would be like a 2 or 3 hour job for someone who knows flash.  Is it really that time-consuming to create a flash player with chapter navigation?
Am I starting to think that I am in the wrong business if you guys are getting $5k to $7k to set up a relatively simple player to put on a web page.
I've got the Master collection but have never wanted to take the time to learn flash.  But if I could charge that much for jobs, maybe I better learn!

I don't really know how to do this but I've seen some things that make me think it isn't that hard to do at all.
You should be able to install "cue points" when you encode the video in the Media Encoder.
I'm sure there's a very simple way to make links which would target those cue points.

  • Customizing Flash Player 10 Install

    Greetings:
I registered and downloaded the flash player 10 install
executable. I want to push it out to about 425 machines, but do not
want the Google toolbar. It messes up other software we have at our
institution. Is there a command line parameter that I can use to
install the flash player without the Google toolbar?
I tried downloading the Adobe Customization Wizard. However,
the latest version I could find on the Adobe website is version 9.
It won't work with the version 10 install .msi file. Is there a
    replacement for version 10?
Our users cannot install from the Adobe web site because they
don't have admin rights. Also, I don't want 450 PCs eating up WAN
bandwidth to install the flash player. That's why I want to install
    it from our LAN.

These instructions don't work for me
    i get the following error:
    [17:15:44:~]> nspluginwrapper -v -i /opt/mozilla/lib/plugins/libflashplayer.so
/usr/lib/nspluginwrapper/i386/linux/npviewer.bin: error while loading shared libraries: libxcb-render-util.so.0: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64
nspluginwrapper: no appropriate viewer found for /opt/mozilla/lib/plugins/libflashplayer.so
Ive checked libxcb and i have both the lib32 versio nand the normal version.
Ive tried all the methods I can find of installing flash. Its annoying me
Any ideas anyone? Am i just being dense?

  • Getting Authenticate Proxy Server questions when Installing Flash Player?

    Hello all
I am getting the menu below when trying to install Flash Player.  This is an old proxy server that I have not used for 3 years.  I cannot find anyplace on my computer where this is still referenced.   How do I get around this menu and install the Flash Player?   Where do I look to find where the installer is pulling this information?   None of my browsers are set up to use a proxy server, so I am stumped.   I do not use a proxy server and Flash Player will not install without this specific server information.   HELP.
    Thanks,

  • Answering my own Question about installing flash player on an Ipad

I need to access certain sites for my job whilst out on location. I realised my Ipad couldn't get Adobe Flash Player, so I looked around for options.
For anyone else who needs a fix, here's how I can access all the web pages I need:
Install - and pay for - Splashtop. Then set it up (easy) with any "always on" laptop or desktop.
You can then remotely access that desktop from site and see any web pages on your Ipad. You can access any files on the desktop and, even better, you can type in web addresses from the Ipad and view them live.
There is a small monthly fee for roaming, but it's bugger all really and well worth it for me!
Hope this helps some of you.

Apple also recommends SkyFire as a browser when you must view Flash content. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/skyfire-web-browser-your-path/id384941497?mt=8

  • I have a question about Adobe Flash Player.

I am wondering why the iPhone doesn't support the Adobe Flash Player.  I tried downloading it onto my phone but it's not available?

Flash takes too much processors cycles and there is no cooling system on iOS devices.
That's really what it comes down too.
It's not Adobe's fault, Flash was designed for PC's and increasing processor capabilities not for new tiny Atom like processors enclosed in airtight case devices.
Flash runs fine on larger machines no sweat.

  • Question about uninstalling flash player

I've recently had a problem with flash player videos and ads stuttering.  Anything that works off flash player always has constant stutters in it on all my browsers (Firefox, Internet Explorer and Google Chrome) ever since a power outtage that turned off my PC while I was online.  It's been this way for 2 months now.
I'd like to uninstall flash player from my PC and do a clean install to see if that might fix the problem.
Will the uninstaller automatically remove flash player from all browsers?  Will I have to run it with each browser open or does it automatically wipe if off my system?
The main reason why I ask this is because I have to update two of my browsers separately (IE and Firefox).

Yes, the uninstaller will install all installed Flash Player instances; download it from http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html
Use the 64-bit uninstaller if your Flash Player is installed in C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash
Use the 32-bit uninstaller if Flash Player is only installed in C:\Windows\syswow64\Macromed\Flash
