Attachment of mesasge type to a process code..

Hi..
When I am trying to attach a message type to a process code , for outbound it is allowing me to do so but for inbound it is not allowing me.
So can anyone please tell me where is the problem?
Thanks

Hi Subhash,
Please ensure you have setup ALE Attributes (BD51) then  message/application object (WE57) prior to setup process code (WE42). Otherwise you may not able to setup/assign your function module.
Also find below link which will show you step by step on how to configure inbound IDoc processing.

I am using Standard Message Type - STTPOD with Process Code as - OPOD and Basic Type as - DELVRY03
I am creating a New "Z" Segment Copy of "E1EDL20"
I want to Add in one FIELD
EKPO - ELIKZ which is Delivery Complete INDICATOR
How can i fetch data when the IDOC is generated and to take the value from this FIELD.
Is there any Userexit or BADI
This we are doing so as we can pass message to SNC for GR Done and Completed
    Regards
    Amey Kulkarni

    Hi Amey,
As you are using Standard Message Type - STTPOD with Process Code as - OPOD and Basic Type as - DELVRY03
There is no need create Z-field or any implementation of Userexit or BADI for GR updation in SNC.
In SNC for updating PO GR status you need to maintain below validation settings:
    TCode:SPRO>Supply Network Collaboration>Basic Settings>Validation>Own Settings-->Maintain Settings in Validation Profiles
    Validation profile=POC1
    Validation check=PO_OPENQUAN_FROM_ASNGRQUAN
    Check status=Inactive
    Validation profile=POC1
    Validation check=PO_OPENQUAN_FROM_ASNQUAN Inactive
    Check status=Inactive
    Validation profile=POC1
    Validation check=PO_OPENQUAN_FROM_POGRQUAN
    Check status=Active
    save the setting.

    hi
use t code wedi and goto EDI administration menu. in that goto development menu. there you can find all items like Idoc type, message type or process code all information is available.  You can also use t code WE30,WE31,WE80,WE81, WE42 - Inbound process code and WE41 Outbound process code.
Hope this helps.  Assign points if useful.

  • Can a message type bind two process codes?

    Hi Experts,
    When I maintain the Partner Profile, I add a message type (ZQM1) as Inbound Parameters. Here I bind a message type ( ZQM1 ) with a process code ( ZQE11 ).
But Now I want to bind a another process code ( ZQE51 ) with this message type ( ZQM1 ).
    Is this possible? Many thanks.

  • Message type, Idoc type and process code in ALE/Idoc

Each Idoc version(creams01 or cremas03) will have seperate process codes in Inbound process?
Whether Message type triggers the process code or the Idoctype/idoc  triggers the process code in Inbound process?
    regards
    Message was edited by: henry

    Hi Henry,
About your question as how should you assign seperate process code for the same message type ( with different IDoc Type )-
In We42, the message type can be assigned to the processing code. But here you will find that along with message type there are two more fields - Message Code & Message Function.
You can use any one these to serve your purpose.
    e.g. you can assign
-process code P1 to message type M with Message code 1
-process code P2 to message type M with Message code 2
Further these process types can be configured to call separate FMs.
Now depending on IDOC types your external system should populate the message type as well as Message code so that accordingly process code will be determined at the time of inbound processing.
    I hope it's clear & correct
    Thanks,

  • EDI/ALE-Output type-Process code relation?

    Hi.
In EDI preocessing the relation between the Message type and the process code is know.
But where is the realtion of either of these two to the output type?
When we hit a F4 in the message control in WE20 for process codes it gives us a list.
    How is this linkages established.
    Output type-process code-message type-output routines?
Please dont answer in vague terms.

    Dear experts,
I am a little further now.
I used output condition WA01 which is already set up in NACE and in MN23 I set up:
In SP01 I can see the created Spool entries after creating the Good issue with ME2O. So the print out would work. But I need an EDI output....
I created a new output condition ZWA1 in NACE and set "Processing routines" to EDI.
I set "Partner functions" to EDI and LS - logical system.
    In MN23 I have:
I set Event Type to "WA" because when I look at a material document in MB03 it also shows WA:
In WE20 I have my LS - logicals system and set up the output for MBGMCR03:
What confuses me is: I have to send the EDI output to a LS - logical system. But in MN23 I can't set the LS - it gives error: "You cannot enter a partner function for output ZWA1"
No IDoc is created so far - please help. Thank you.

  • Idoc type, message type and process code for EDI 940 & 945

    Hi,
We are implementing a scenario wherein we are required to send a Wharehouse Shipping Order to the warehouse (forwarding agent) using EDI 940. The output of the o/b is triggered from the Delivery (VA01) after creation of a Delivery in SAP. Once the warehouse ships the goods, it notifies us back by sending EDI 945 (Warehouse Shipping Advice). Using this inbound 945 we are required to update the existing delivery in SAP, i.e., it should do the Pick, Pack and PGI.
Can someone tell me which Idoc type, Message Type and Process code should be used for the above scenario.
Thanks in advance for the help.
    Regards,
    Gajendra

    Hi Gajendra,
For EDI940, you can use message type SHPORD or WHSORD,  IDOC type DELVRY01 and process code DELV.
For EDI945, you can use message type SHPCON or WHSCON,  IDoc type DELVRY01 and process code DELV.
    Hope this will help.

  • Process code

    Dear All,
I have my idoc number and message type, partner type.
I checked WE20 and in partner type, message type is defined.
When i double click on message type, i found no process code.
    This is outbound idoc.
Could you please let me know how to find the process code for message type for outbound process?
Also, in WE19, if i click on Inbound function module option, we can specify our own function modules here.
Kindly let me know how to find if we have multiple function modules attached with one message type.
Thanks in advance for your kind help and spending your time reading my questions.
    Regards,
    T

    Hi tarun,
if you are dealing with an outbound idoc , then we generally dont attach a process code with it. If the idoc is that of a master data (ex. customer master or vendor master), then the idoc posting is done via change pointer activation or manual triggering of the application specific transaction.
if the idoc is of transaction data type, then we use the output type and corresponding process code to trigger the idoc. Take an example of outbound delivery (VL02N). This application comes under application area V2 - Shipping. Corresponding to this application , you can find out the relavant output type and the process code through the transaction NACE. In this case, you require some functional knowledge abt the application to be able to correctly determine the relevant output type. Kindly state your appliaction (message type of idoc) to be more specific.
As far as inbound idoc is concerned, you can assign multiple process code to one message type , by defining message variants of the same. If you go to partner profile maintanance (WE20), then you can see that there is an option of specifying the message variant along with the message type. So, when the idoc comes in R/3, the control records of the idoc contains (or should contain) the desired messgae variant and then the system identifies the appropriate process code (and hence the FM), to post the idoc.

  • Doubt in IDOC Regarding Process codes

    Please check the link
    http://idocs.de/www5/books/IDocBook/cook_A5.pdf
In page no: 32 (Topic: 8.5 Assigning a processing function ) ,FM is assigned directly to Message type and Idoc type combination.
But in the next page, Process code is created for that FM and Asigned that process code to message type and Idoc type combination.
    What's the differece.
Another thing is in which transaction we assign Process codes to Message type and Idoc type Combinations
Above tutorial looks like old version. In my system Transactions are looking different ,than they are in Tutorial. I am working in version 5.0. If possible, Please provide me perfect material.

    Hi
Process code always points to a Function module
Means it calls the fun module
In We41/42 you creata process code and assigns to a Message type
so means that Process Code, Idoc Type and Message type are interlinked
Even you can check in WE20 partner profile
    in the Outbound
double click on the Message type and press message control , it shows the process code attached
and double click on the process code it shows the fun module attached to it.

  • Doubt in IDOC's - Process Codes

    Hi,
Currently i am working on an object related to IDOC generation. This is my first object in IDOC's. I am doing it from the scratch including creation of segments, IDOC type, message type, process codes...
In this process, I am developing a function module that should be assigned to the process code. My doubt here is, is there any standard interface to the function module that we have  to assign to the process code?
I am also giving the flow which i will be using in developing the Function module. Please go through it and kindly let me know if I am doing it in the right way or not?
    1. Extract data from data base based on the entry in NAST
    2. Filling IDOC DATA & Control records
    3. Calling the FM MASTER_IDOC_DISTRIBUTE to generate the IDOC
Please suggest me whether i am doing it in the correct way or not?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Best Regards,
    Phani

    Hi,
For outbound u need to attach ur FM to the process code in WE41 tcode..I think u r using message control method for ur requirement.please look at the configurations for outbound using message control method.we use we41 (outbound process code) and we use this in the message control tab in the partner profiles.
The transaction codes that are required for this method are
    We81
    We30
    We31
    We82
    We21
    We20
    Bd64
    Nace
Me22n (purchase order), va02 (sales order) etc.
    Ex: purchase order.
    Message type: ORDERS
    Idoc type: ORDERS05
Outbound process code for purchase order: me10

  • What is A process Code?

    1.What is A process Code?
    2. How to associate a process code with an output type ?

    Hi
Process Code turn drives which Function Module to use, which in turn will determine the content of the message.

  • ALE INBOUND Process Code

    Hi,
In ALE INBOUND Process Code Apart from the Function Module name, what are the important things to be filled up while creating that InBound process code in WE42. What is the importance of those? what is the importance of Object Attributes in that?

Hi Mahesh check this may be useful to  you
The inbound function module needs to be linked to the message type and the message type needs to be linked to the appropriate inbound process code at the partner profile level before the scenario is enabled. These steps are described below in detail.
Link Message Type to Function Module (WE57) Client independent
u2022 Enter transaction WE57 (ALE -> Extensions -> Inbound -> Allocate function module to logical message)
Define FM settings (BD51) Client independent
u2022 Enter transaction BD51 (ALE -> Extensions -> Inbound -> Define settings for input modules)
    u2022 Click on New entries
u2022 Enter 0 for mass processing in the output column
    u2022
Maintain process codes (WE42) Client dependent
A process code needs to be maintained on each client. It then needs to be linked to the message via the partner profiles on each client. This allows the various clients to use a unique function module for the same message type.
To maintain the process code follow these steps:
u2022 Log on to the appropriate receiving system client
u2022 Execute WE42 (ALE -> Extensions -> Inbound -> Maintaining process codes inbound)
u2022 Choose Inbound with ALE service
u2022 Choose Processing with function module
u2022 Click on Processing with function module and choose create icon
    u2022 Click on New Entries
u2022 Type in process code XXXXXXX and give it a description and save
u2022 Now you are asked to Please maintain codes added in ALE entry methods, enter and choose XXXXXX and copy it. You should choose a FM similar to your one.
u2022 Enter your process code XXXX
u2022 Enter your function module XXXXXX
NOTE: The next 6 steps are used in workflow error handling.
u2022 Enter IDPKFIDCMT in object type
u2022 Enter MASSINPUTFINISHED in End event
u2022 Enter IDOCINVOIC in IDoc object type
u2022 Enter INPUTERROROCCURREDFI in IDoc start event
u2022 Enter INPUTFINISHEDFI in IDoc End event
u2022 Enter IDOCINVOIC in Application object type
You will need to determine the task associated with object XXXXXXXX, and then assign the appropriate position to it. This position will then receive the application error messages via workflow.
To set up the workflow area please consult the Workflow config guide.
    Create inbound partner profile
For each message type you need to maintain the inbound partner profiles.
Maintain receiving system partner profile (WE20) Client dependent
To maintain inbound partner profiles read the document ALE configuration procedure:
u2022 Add the message type XXXXX with process code XXXX.
u2022 Enter the output mode (background, immediately) for inbound processing and NO message code.
    Test
Once the inbound function module has been debugged the scenario should be ready to test in its entirety. If problems occur, read through the relevant areas of this document to check your configuration or code.
You can find all the inbound and outbound processcodes in we64.
    Regards,
    SMS.
