Attachment too large - Possible solutions to deliver a smaller file ?

Hello
We do have an iBot configured which sends out an XLS with a large detailed report. This report is around 8MB long and the users are complaining about the size of the file. We need to somehow deliver this in a smaller file (ZIP is fine) or publish it on a sharepoint location or shared drive.
Does anyone has implemented something similar already?
Thank you!
Eduardo Ferrari

You can use javascript in your iBot to deposit the file to a server location. Read these:

  • "This text file is too large to edit" for a very small file

    Hi all,
    I uploaded a small JS script file, less than 2K,  into the Shared Components/Static Files. When I was trying to edit it, I got the error "this text file is too large to edit".
    Anybody experiences this ? Any solutions ?
    My Apex version is 4.2.2.00.11.
    Thanks,
    Vu

    Interesting. I have an SQL file that is about 4K. I copy this file to two files, one with extension .CSS and one JS then upload these three files into the Shared Components/Static Files. I can then edit the SQL and CSS, but I cannot edit the JS file.
    I guess this has something to do with the extension ?
    Thanks,

  • Attachment too large !

    Since I reinstalled OS ver 1.0.7.3312 on my Playbook, I an getting this message in all my mail attachments: " Attachment too large " making impossible to download them. When the help buttom next to this message is clicked you get this other message: " The attachment exceeds the download size set by your administrator "
    The afore mentioned message appears too when I try to compose a new mail with attachments. This happens ALWAYS, no matter which email account I am using. Otherwise in my bridged BB Bold 9700, attachments are not an issue nor are they in the mail accounts when entered directly trough Playbook's web browser... seems the problem is in the bridged mail client on the Playbook.
    Question: How can this fixed?... Already deleted bridge in both equipments and reinstalled it without any result, already did a complete as of factory system install...

    I have the same probelm, having just purchased the PB. n my second call to BB, after waiting 20 minutes, I reported tpo them that my BES provider was on version 4.1.4. Response was they need to have 4.1.5 or go to 5.0.3 and i will solve the problem. You'd think they would have had testing this before re;leasing the PB upgrade which triggered the problem. I'm no techie, but after debating on PB and using BB's for many years, this is becomeing to much of a hassle!!
    Great products that don't work when you buy it, are simply junk!

  • A page item on page 'SCHEDULE' at location 34,488 requires rasterization, but is too large to rasterize. Resize it smaller and try again

    I keep getting this error,
    A page item on page 'SCHEDULE' at location 34,488 requires rasterization, but is too large to rasterize. Resize it smaller and try again

    This basically means that there is an object that has its top left corner at x: 34 y: 488 which is too large to be rasterized, it could be due to any large object that is extreme wide or tall.
    Try to check page content and then resize it to verify the behavior. Please let me know how it goes.

  • Export to AVI file too large! The secret setting to smaller AVI files is?

    The recent death of a internationally respect friend has put me in a position of creating a memorial video for an upcoming event—and it should have been finished 2 days ago! So I'm pressed for time.
    The problem is the display format: a large digital picture frame that also shows stereo video, but only in AVI format. We've tried .mov, .mpeg, .divx, .wmv, .vcl, .mpg1 to 4... Nope. It's got to be .avi or the picture frame balks. (Really, any .avi movie plays fine and no other format works.)
    So I've taken the 5-minute memorial video, exported it as AVI and it comes out okay—except the smallest file size I can get is over 1.12GB! Whew! By comaprison, exporting to DIVX would get it down to around 100MB with decent quality. But 1.12GB is simply too huge for such a short video.
    What's the correct export in FCE for lowest possible AVI yet still have good video?

    Note: All video was transferred from a Panasonic NV-GS250 digital tape camera. It's 5 years old.
    I've played with three codecs and the lowest file size I can achieve is roughly 400Mb in Cinepak Low Quality at 25fps, but regardless of the Cinepak setting (very low or very high) the picture quality is awful and washy, colors pixelate and come and go—and it doesn't matter if the video is showing still images or motion. Not useful at all. The colors are "millions" and changing that to 256 immediately shoots the file(s) up to over 12GB! (Yet I'd think it should be the other way around.)
    Cinepak, DV-PAL, and DVCPRO-PAL are the three compressions I've tried, and the PALs convert with good picture quality and good sound to a minimum 1.2GB all the way up to over 20GB for a 5-minute video; Interlaced or Progressive doesn't reduce anything; of these None is the lowest. I +haven't tired+ DVCPRO50-PAL and neither any NTSC compressions (because I live in Germany). But this is for a digital picture frame—that I cannot change and for some weird reason will only support AVI—and it's not a T.V., rather it's no different that any modern flatscreen computer display. So how should PAL or NTSC make a difference?
    Sound compression has been tried at ALaw 2:1 and µLaw 2:1, but they also seem to keep the overall file size too large. So I've been working more with None. Using 8 bit actually increases file size over 16 bit, and I've noticed little difference between mono or stereo.
    I've worked with FCE for nearly 2 years and have never had such a headache over file sizes. But now I've met my match with AVI.

  • Find Change window too large and I cannot make it smaller

    In Indesign CC the find/change window is continually resizing. This happens when I place a larger block of text into the find or replace field. After a few such changes I end up with a window as wide as my screen. I am able to get rid of it by restarting Indesign and resetting the preferences at restart. This is not a solution. How can this window be reduced in size or better yet set to remain at a fixed size.
    I am operating on a Mac with system: 10.10.2

  • "result too large" error when accessing files

    Hi,
    I'm attempting to make a backup copy of one of my folders (using tar from shell). For several files, I got "Read error at byte 0, reading 1224 bytes: Result too large" error message. It seems those files are unreadable. Whatever application attempts to access them results with the same error.
    The files reside on the volume that I created a day ago. It's a non-journaled HFS+ volume on external hard drive. They are part of an Aperture Vault that I wanted to make an archive copy and store offsite. Aperture was closed (not running) when I was creating the archive.
    This means two things. The onsite backup of my photos is broken, obviously (some of the files are unreadable). My offsite backup is broken, since it doesn't contain those files.
    I've searched the net, and found couple of threads on some mailing lists describing same problem. But no answer. Couple of folks on those mailing lists suggested it migh point to full disk. However, in my case, there is some 450GB of free space on the volume I was getting read errors on (the destination volume had about 200GB free, and system drive had about 50GB free, so there was plenty of space all around the system too).
    File system corruption?
      Mac OS X (10.4.9)

    Here's the tar command with the output:
    $ tar cf /Volumes/WINNIPEG\;TOPORKO/MacBackups/2007-05-27/aperture.tar Alex\ -\ External\ HD.apvault

    Here's the "ls -l" output for one of the files in question:
    $ ls -l IMG_0187.jpg
    -rw-r--r-- 1 dijana dijana 3840 Mar 24 23:27 IMG_0187.jpg
    Accessing that file (or any other from the above list) gives same/similar error. The wording differes from command to command, but basically it's the same thing (read error, or result too large, or both combined). For example:
    $ cp IMG_0187.jpg ~
    cp: IMG_0187.jpg: Result too large
    The console log doesn't show any related errors.

    Hi Hunt,
    Thanks for the reply.
    Initially I was using a simple PAL DV setting, but once I got the error I tried using larger project settings with no luck.
    The source video was provided in two formats, for any compatitbility issues so it's the same video.... One is the QT and one is the MS AVI.  The frame size of the video is 720 x 576 and 25 fps. Each file is around 27 GB and just over 2 hours long.
    It's wierd, Premiere won't import either files, After Effects crashes but Encore brings it right in.... if only I didn't need to do a bit of editing.  I'm not sure of the program that did the conversion, but we had it sent off to a studio because the source footage was on Digital BetaCam tape and I'm guessing it was originally captured in Avid, but who knows.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Clint

  • ERROR : OpenDoc CR to PDF - File is too large for attachment.

    We are getting the following error in 3.1 using an OpenDoc call when we call a large Crystal Report to PDF format...

    It runs OK from BOE when given parameters that returned 44 pages. (PDF = 139 KB)
    We get the error on a parameter-set that returns 174 pages when run via CR Desktop or as a SCHEDULED Instance. (PDF = 446 KB).

    The BOE server is running on SOLARIS - and it's is a 2 Server CMS-Cluster.
    The problem is SPORADIC, so I am thinking the issue is related to a specific setting on one of the servers.
    Any thoughts on where to start looking...?

    Problem is _not _with the number of Rows returned - it is an issue with the size of the PDF file that it is trying to move.

  • ReportExportControl  -- File is too large for attachment

    Hi all,
    Back with a exception again.
    Few reports deployed on BOXIR2 SP4 comes with an error as following
    com.crystaldecisions.report.web.viewer.ReportExportControl
    15bf5ea9377e1c1.rtf File is too large for attachment.
    Few reports take date range as input and generates result based on that. When date range is small report is generated without any problem. If is large and has large set of records(approx above 10K records) then comes up with the above error.
    Another set of reports whatever be the case throws this error.
    But when the parameters are set in CMS console and run in console report is generated without any problem what ever be the date range.
    After searching a lot no solutions in hand!!
    Please suggest solutions/possible scenarios / checklist to solve this issue.
    Thanks & Regards
    lnarayanan

    It turns out the report was so large it was basically overloading everything (disk space, cache sizes, timeouts, etc.) ... Here's the solution from the case:
    1) For page server and cache server
    Make sure location of Temp Files/Cache files has enough free space (more than 500 MB)
    2) For page server and cache server
    Minutes Before an Idle Connection is Closed = 90
    3) For page server
    Minutes Before an Idle Report Job is Closed = 90
    4) For cache server
    Maximum Simultaneous Processing Threads = automatic
    5) In the command line of page server and cache server, add
    "-requestTimeout 5400000" [without " "]
    6) Maximum Cache Size Allowed (KBytes) = set it to an appropriate value (for e.g. for 500 Mb, value should be 500*1024 = 512000)
    (This setting limits the amount of hard disk space used to store cached pages. If we need to handle large reports, a large cache size is needed. Maximum allowed is 2048 GB)
    After all this, an "Error 500 - Java heap space" happened.  The amount of memory allocated to a JVM application can be set using the options -Xms (the initial size) and -Xmx (the maximum size).

    Bryan

  • File too large - attachment settings not working

    Hi there
    We are having problems with attaching files in IMS 5.2 & wondered if anybody can help.
    Our outgoing mail message max size is set to 50MB (I know about the extra 33% space required for encoding) and yet we still cannot attach files to emails that are greater than 5MB.
    Does anyone have any idea why this is not working?
    Anytime we try to send a 7 or 8 MB file an error "File too large "comes up right away
    The settings in the messaging server console is set to 50MB. This is under the HTTP service
    There was a previous post but the solution did not solve my problem.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks

    There are separate settings for webmail attaqchments. Please check documentation at:
    http://docs.sun.com/source/816-6020-10/cfgutil.htm
    and look at:
    service.http.maxmessagesize
    and
    service.http.maxpostsize
    these both default to 5 megs.
    You have to restart the webmail daemon to make a change take effect.

  • "File is too large for attachment." using the Viewer SDK

    Post Author: CBurger

    I'm using the Viewer SDK to retrieve a report from BOE XI 2 SR2.
    This is done via the a piece of Java code ...
    ReportExportControl exportControl = new ReportExportControl();
    ExportOptions exportOptions = new ExportOptions();
    IReportSourceFactory psReportSourceFactory = (IReportSourceFactory) enterpriseSession.getService(ReportConstants.REPORT_PSREPORT_FACTORY);

    exportControl.setParameterFields(reportParameters);
    exportControl.processHttpRequest(request, response, getServlet().getServletConfig().getServletContext(), null);
    exportControl.dispose();
    The report is generated as an Excel file.
    If I call for a small Excel - no problem: a dialog pops up asking me to "save as ..."
    If I call for a larger Excel (about 20MB) - PROBLEM "File is too large for attachment."
    Unfortunatly I don't find any information in the log files.
    Any ideas?

    Has this ever been resolved?  We are having a similar issue.
