Attachment Type is .docx

I received an attachment this morning with the extension .docx After downloading, it opened easily in my Pages word processor. I've never seen or noticed this extension before. I knew the sender uses a Windows machine, so I asked her what she wrote the document in. Here is her reply:
Word. I have Windows 7 (and Word 2007) and then I tried sending it from a computer with XP and Word 2003. Some people had trouble opening it. Any suggestions for the future?"
I'm not sure what to tell her other than have everyone switch to Macs. What do you think? Thanks. - Fabe

Docx is an Office file format used by newer versions. Save in an older format for fuller compatibility, or people using old systems will have to use the converter.

  • Attachment type policy violation Action:deny

Hi Folks, need some help starting to get a little frustrated. So any input is appreciated. My organization is starting to deal with the goverment and will be sending lg. files via email. We use Exchange\Outlook 2010. I have tested from hotmail and get same
    results. Here's what I see:
Delivery Notification - file    The mesg or attach. did not reach... Reason: attachment type policy violation (/Analysis.exe)  NOTE: this changes depending on file
    Action:deny
I have gone and increased all my mesg size limits to an incredible lg limit in the Send and Receive Connectors, Transport settings, just about any spot that has to do with a size limitation. Also added the site as a trusted site  under Send conn. Still
no luck. The goverment contact states its our site, works fine with others ones. Any ideas???  Thanks in advance

1-The error message above still says 'attachment type policy'.  Can you tell what host rejected it from the message headers?
2-If you truly think there is a size issue, create a file of a specific size using 'fsutil' and try to send it:
    10MB file: fsutil.exe file  createnew C:\temp\testfile2.txt 10000000
Something else to remember is that conversion from Exchange format to an Internet standard inflates the message up to 30% (i forget what the technical aspects are, it was a while ago.)  The Internet standard appears to be 25MB these days (Google, Yahoo,
etc.) so setting your Internet-bound Send Connector 25MB may not work.  My testing resulted in using 17MB on the Internet-bound Send Connector.  This is for total message size, not individual attachments.  If a message has three attachments
of 6MB each it will work fine internally, but is rejected if it is sent to the Internet.

  • E-Recruiting - Attachment Types and Object Relationships

Can someone help me to understand why SAP recommends attachment types to be linked to the Application object and not to the Candidacy object?  I've always created attachment types specific to certain candidacy activities to that object as appropriate.  Is there a technical implication that I am not aware of?  If so, please advise.  Thank you for your help.

    Hi Roman and experts
We have an issue where we have created 2 attachments:
    Attachment type 10 PDR
Attachment type 17 Mamual Application Form
both of subtype text "Resume" which we have attached to object type NA Candidate.
What is happening is that once a candidate has attached these to his/her application then they automatically are attached to any past and future applications as well. I assume if we had assigned them to object type ND Application instead then they would be unique to  the application ie: not attach to all applications?
Also can an attachment type only be assigned to object type NA or object type ND eg: could 10 PDR be assigned to both candidate and application?
    Many thanks

  • Prohibiting attachment types according to txn. SOPE

    Dear FPM Experts,
Configured to prevent potentially dangerous attachment types such as .bat, .exe, .com etc. However, I noted
it is not within FPM framework (of WDA) to enforce this. In short, for FPM applications allowing attachments,
one can still attach those forbidden attachment types though it was configured to disallow. This may open up
a security vulnerability. Any ideas of how to overcome this ?
    Thank you.

  • Additional attachment types that should be allowed

I just noticed that some of my attachmnts from an email message didn't arrive but were silently dropped. I don't think silently dropping them is a very good policy, because people will attach harmless documents like install.log to a message and refer to that attachment. That is bound to add a lot of confusion.
Apart from changing the silent dropping olicy, can you allow the following file types:
    .log
    .wsdl
    .ico
    .as
    .mxml
    .cfm
    .cfc

The idea behind my post was that if compressed file archives become allowed, then we can in essence post any type of file by compressing it. So when we are trying to help some one in say the InDesign forum (or some other forum), we can say "please attach your file in a compressed  format so that we can take a look at what may be wrong."
Don't you agree that would be a very useful improvement to these new forums? Some file size limit does seem reasonable.

  • Handling Multiple Attachment Types in B2B Rosettanet

    Hi,
We are encountering some issues while sending Excel (i.e. xls) attachments along with B2B rosettanet transactions. Other document types - PDF, text are going find without any issues.
We have added "application/pdf : application/vnd.ms-excel" as additional mime type, but the attachment is still not getting posted to TP.
This is what I see in the wire message -
    </pidx:InvoiceTotal> </pidx:InvoiceSummary></pidx:Invoice>------=_Part_69_226988743.1322688178936Content-Type: application/pdf; name="Niranjan%20Query_HOU-ECMCSTST01003632.xls"Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64Content-ID: <Niranjan%20Query_HOU-ECMCSTST01003632.xls>Content-Description: Niranjan%20Query_HOU-ECMCSTST01003632.xls0M8R4KGxGuEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPgADAP7/CQAGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAABAAAAAQAAAAAAAAAAEAAAAgAAAAEAAAD+////AAAAAAAAAAD////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////9/////v
One guess that I have is "Content-Type: application/pdf;" is causing this issue, but not sure how to set this value based on document type. Any suggestion on what we need to change to get this working?

Can you check what is this '%' symbol in your file name 'Niranjan%20Query'? May be it should be some empty space

I think object type should be from Table TSOTD .
Please check the table and all object types should maintain in this table.

  • This Attachment Type Cannot be viewed on your device

I suddenly get this message when I try to open image attachments from my email. JPG, GIF, any image attachments. I have have no problem doing this up until today. I'm at a loss as to why this suddenly happened. I've pulled the battery several times. Made sure that the attachment service is listed in my core apps, it is. Can anyone else be of assistance?

OK...be sure to do them in order though...they are steps, each depending on the success of the prior step...steps 1 and 2 MUST result in some message coming to your BB...if they do not, then proceeding is irrelevant as that step did not succeed.

I get a list of dozens of different CDMA lines with numbers. Only one is bolded. I have no idea what I'm supposed to do here. There is nothing about registering on any of the menus on this screen.
Yes, there are dozens of lines there...and it does not matter which you have highlighted in the list. Just press the key and select "Register Now". Are you saying that "Register Now" is not an option in the menu that pops up from the key? That would be very odd indeed...

  • How to specify attachment type in Tiger Mail?

I recently updated to MS Office 11.2. Since then, when I click on Word attachments in emails that I receive, they open by default in another application (Nisus Writer Express) rather than in Word. How is this preference set? Is there a way I can reset it so that Word attachments will open by default in Word?

Drag one of the those attachments to your Desktop. Select it with the mouse and press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window. In the section labeled Open With click on the little down arrow to expand the pane. Select Word from the dropdown menu as the default app, then click on the Change All button. Hopefully, that should do the trick.

    Hi Folks,
    I got the answer.
There is a parameter OBJECT_HD_DISPLAY in the FM 'SO_OBJECT_READ' which i need to capture. This will contain the title and the doc type extension ( notepad - txt ; adobe - pdf etc ).This will solve my problem.

  • How to get the mime type of the workflow attachment attached to workitem id

    Hi Experts,
I can attach different types of attachment to the workitem id, lets suppost the attachment type attached is pdf, for this attachment I have an requirement to send the mime type as well. In this case the mime type is 'application/pdf' for pdf files.(for text file it is 'text/plain' and for zip file it is 'application/zip' and so on)
Do I have any place in ABAP world where I can get the mime type for different types of attachments.
I dont want to hard code the mime types, and I have checked the transaction 'SMW0', but not sure if this is the correct place to get the mime type.
Do you see any other way or tables which stores all these mime types.
    Any help/suggestion would be appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Neerup.

This happens on the network call for:
    https://exchange.mydomain.com/owa/[email protected]/service.svc?action=GetWacIframeUrl&ID=-2&AC=1
I have tried with varying attachment file names and it consistently only happens if there is a capital in the extension.  For example:
    .pdf - Works
    .PDF - does not work
    .Pdf - does not work
    .pDf - does not work
It also seems to happen across document types, PDF, DOCX, XLSX, etc.  So that doesn't seem to be dependent either.
Anyone run into this before or is there a KB article or a setting that I am missing somewhere that explains how to resolve this? Thanks!

By default, there are 8 bindings for DOCX.  Do you see any other bindings available?
