Attachment with leave request

Is there any provision to attach a document while an employee requests for a leave in ESS? Actually my requirement is that the employee should be able to attach a medical statement along with the request when he is applying for Sick Leave. At the same time the manager, while approving should be able to view that certificate while approving or rejecting.
Is there any functionality for this in ESS?

Actually, there *is* functionality for this....but it involves implementing HCM Processes and Forms. With that, you can have attachments....in fact, you can make them required or optional for specific steps as well as allowing them to be displayed/modified on steps after that or if you just want to display information that "yes" the attachment is there (ie. display verification but not the attachment itself). So yes, it can be done.
However, as Sid points out, with the "usual" leave request process from ESS, this is not "out of the box". This is becuase HCM Processes and Forms is based are "Case Managment" and the "old"/other way (via PCRs and custom forms) is not.

Problem using workflow with ess leave requests

Hello, I have been experiencing some problems using wf for approval with leave request in ess.
I customized ws12300111 for request approval and it is working fine. But when we try to cancel a request in ess, there are strange things happening:
- If the request is in status sent: the workflow gets in error.
- If the request is already in db: it starts a new workflow (ws12300111).
We don't want this because we have customized ws12300111 only for new requests. I have tried to customize absences in SPRO so that onlu new requests start the WS12300111, Onlu new requests have the workflow field filled with 12300111, but even like that, the WS12300111 starts whenever that is a cancelling or modification of a request.
I have also tried using a different workflow for canceliing (WS12400007), but in this case there is an error in ess when we try to submit.
This is really annoying, I have tried everything...

You first have to find out how this is done. Look in SWEL, it's probably via some sort of CHANGED event.

Reg: EP based Leave request workflow

Hi Experts
We are implementing ECC 6.0 and EP .
My requirement is I have copied standard leave request no 12300111 and i have modifield according to client requirment .
When i create the leave request wokflow from EP frent end its working fine and leave details are appearing in superviser in box ( IN EP inbox) .
Supervisor is approving fine .
1 . After approving leave reqeuest data is not updating in 2001 infotype.
2. In this workflow there is no BOR ( Business Object ) but still the data is appearing in supervisor inbox after create a leave from employee .
How can i see the request data in workflow becouse i need configure mail format aslo .
Once leave is created i need send main notification to employee as well as manager with leave request details.
Please help me how do i get leave data in workflow container .

There is no BO for the standard SAP leave req workflow. It is handled by a class CL_PT_REQ_WF_ATTRIBS. So you can forget everything about creating a sub-business object and delegating it to the standard one.
You can create your own custom (ABAP class) method which you can use to get the needed details of the leave request into your workflow container (which you can then use in your notifications). Check Jocelyn Dart's blogs about WF and ABAP OO. In your case everything should be quite clear if you just create one static method (you don't need to implemenet the LPOR-methods). This is of course the simpliest way to achieve your requirement - there are also some other more fancy ways.

Attaching documents in Create Leave Request UI5 application

We are planning to implement the SAP HR Renewal 2.0 FP1 based HR implementation with ESS/MSS based on the UI5 as well.
I would like to know if the SAP UI5 application for Create Leave Request has the option to upload the documents or not in the standard delivery.
Please let me if the attachment facility is available for the Create Leave request application in UI5 based ESS.

Configuring the attaching of documents to leave request

Hi All,
The current leave request in ESS was not configured to upload any supporting documents. The cleint now want to have the functionality to attach doctors notes, or any additional documents to the leave request. Please advise on the procedure for doing that with or without DMS. We need to expolore the 2 options.

A Pages '08 or earlier document is actually a package, a special kind of folder that appears as a single file, but isn't. You can't e-mail a folder which is why many mail clients balk. Apple Mail will automatically zip a folder, other e-mail clients don't, especially web-based e-mail. In the Finder, Control- or right-click on the Pages document & choose Create Archive… (Tiger) or Compress… (Leopard) from the contextual menu. You will now have a zipped Pages document that you can attach to your e-mail & send.
Your recipient must have Pages to be able to open your Pages file. If s/he doesn't, you can export the Pages document as Word or PDF & send that.
Pages 4/iWork '09 now saves a flat file by default (it can also save as a package). There is a Share menu that has the option to e-mail the document as Pages, Word or PDF.

ESS WF WS04200009 Leave request with HTML (BP for SAP R/3 4.7))

Hi there all,
I hope somebody can help how to configure this scenario. I searched around on SDN and SAP Help but couldn't find a thing.
I actually have 2 questions:
1. is there somebody who has some how-to guides for the ESS scenarios especially about the leave request.
2. Where are publishing the leave request in the portal. When i submit the leave request a got a pop-up with the message: you are not allowed to do this task.

Hi Maarten,
These points may help you:
1)All HTML templates should be imported into your IT Server.(ESS server)
2)In tcode PFTC select workflow template WS04200009 and proceed to workflow builder.
3) In workflow builder for each step select agent assignment and in the agent assignment attributes choose the general task option.
Everything else is standard and should work fine.

Report on Leave request (with HTML ) using ITS version

we are using ITS version of ESS and MSS version EP 6.0 and SAP R/3 5.0.
Our client wants a report on Leave Request(with HTML). the worflow used is WS20000081. my question is there any standard report to check the Leave Request which are approved or rejected. In SAP there is one standard report
RPTARQDBVIEW where in when we execute no output exists.
Please help me whether is there any report to view the leave requests.

ECC 6.0 - Leave request show duplicate entries one with ERROR status

We have implemented standard Leave request process, we are facing the issue as mentioned below, Its not happening for all the time, however we want to what scenario this problem will arrives.
Problem description:
E.g. Staff applied annual leave on 10.06.2010, the leave request will sent for approval , after the approval of the leave ,every 30 min. we have scheduled a job which will execute standard program RPTARQPOST to post a leave request to IT2001.
After the approval when staff go into ess and see leave request details under "Show Overview of Leave" and its shows as 2 records for the same period one with APPROVED and another one with ERROR.

Issue with ESS Leave request workflow - Deleting a leave request

Hi friends,
This is my scenario: An employee has created a leave request from ESS - Leave Request Workflow(Copy of WS12300111) gets triggered and work item gets created in manager's UWL. After that the employee realizes he has created a wrong leave request so he deletes that leave request from ESS. In this case the workflow instance which got triggered when he created the leave request is under process and the work item stays in the Manager's UWL( there is no terminating event or wait for event step in the approval step of workflow WS12300111), when the Manger opens that work item it shows a blank column, ideally speaking when the leave request is deleted by the employee the work item in the manger's UWL should be logically deleted and the workflow should complete, but this part is not handled in the standard workflow WS12300111as well. How to handle this case. I can put a wait for event or a condition to complete a work item at the approval step but i would like to know how the standard ESS leave request framework works in this case. Please advice.

This is not handled in std. You have clear the next processor in your in method then only the work item will get vanished from the UWL. For clearting the next processor either you can create a method in your BOR and get the request id. For the request id get the max version and clear the next processor or in the BADI you have wirte your own logic when the change happens what you have to do. This logic has to be written in you BADI. I thing BADI will start with PT_ check with that name in se18
You cannot use wait for event or terminating event since its not R/3 workflow its ESS workflow you cannot use ternminating event or wait step.

Problem with Team Calendar from Create Leave Request

Hi Expert,
We are facing following 2 issues with Team Calendar-
1) When manager checks Team Calendar from create leave request he gets a warning message 'No team set up for the user in the selection period.Contact Administrator'
I know this issue has been reported earlier as well but i didn't find the thread where it has been answered correctly.
- OADP configuration is correct.
- Manager is head of org unit.
- Also IT105 exist for manager as well as employees.
We are currently checking on authorization side for this.
2) Team Calendar is showing leave details only for the current month. If we navigate to previous month it does not show anything even though there exist leave data for the given month.
Please suggest if we are missing something.

I dont remember the exact auth object but ask security team to apply trace for the user id and identify the same.
Also i would suggest you to check following setting before checking authorizations-
Get the Group of Organizational Views applicable for rule group in your case from following path
SAP Customizing Implementation Guide--> Personnel Management-->Manager Self-Service (Web Dynpro ABAP)--> Service Specific Settings-->Working Time--> Team Calendar--> Select Employees:
After getting Group of Org View Check the Evaluation path used in OADP configuration.
Please check if the evaluation path is correct as per your requirement.

Leave request collision with new request after deleting previous

For some users we get following errormessage in the leave request screen:
message class HRTIM_ABS_REQ - message 124
-> "Conflict with 2001 (absences) from ... to ...."
This errormessage is appearing after deleting a wrong leave request and requesting a new request for the same day (but with other amount of hours). We can insert this request manually in pa30, but the user is always getting this blocking error in de EQQ-screen.
Can somebody help me with the location where this errormessage is generated?

OK, I found myself already that I have to look in method CL_PT_ARQ_BLOP_ADAPTER~MAINTAIN_TIMEDATA for this error message.

Problem with chage leave request

Hi Experts,
                  In ESS leave request application is working fine. But the customer's requirement is that while changing leave request employee should able to change only Leave start and end dates. He should not able to change leave type . So is this requirement is possible in SAP.

Yes. It can be achieved by changing the webdynpro code.
Project: ess/lea
Component Controller: VcFormEdit
View Controller: EditView
Steps:
1. Add a Value Attribute, of type 'boolean', to EditView's Context (eg: ReadOnlyLeaveType).
2. Assign this attribute to the 'readOnly' property of 'Type of Leave' dropdown (id = awartDropDownField) on the EditView's Layout.
3. Now to change the value of the above attribute, according to the requirement needed, add relevant code inside 'wdModifyView()' method from the EditView's Implementation.
Following is a code sample added to restrict user from changing the Leave Type ONLY for the approved leaves:

Reg:- Issue with Leave Deduction in ESS Leave Request

Hi All,
We are facing the following issue in the Leave Request module in ESS (ess~lea):
Currently, there is a requirement from the customer that when the Leave Type is chosen as Paid Holiday - Early/AM (Subtype: 0110) or Paid Holiday - Post/PM (Subtype: 0120), we have to hide The Time field (which contains Begin and End Times) in the first Screen (Edit form Screen). On clicking the Review button, we are calling a custom RFC to which the User ID, Subtype and Date of Leave are passed as the import parameters. This custom RFC returns the Begin and End Times depending on the import parameters passed. These Begin and End Times (returned from the custom RFC) are then mapped to Begin_Time and End_Time context attributes under "Workitem" context node and will be used for all further processing.
However, the problem is that on clicking the Review button, the leave to be deducted is calculated as 1 Days instead of 0.5 Days (for Subtypes - 0110 and 0120 only). How can we make sure that the leaves deducted is 0.5 Days in both Review (second) and Confirmation (third) screens?

You can use PT_ARQ_REQUEST_CHECK!
If clock time fields were open as in the standard, you
as well change the time and pressed review and everything would have
been fine.
In case you dont want to add the time fields in the front end , then you
can acheive the same by clearing the time fields in the back end
function module PT_ARQ_REQUEST_CHECK.
Depeding on your requirement you can decide how to use
PT_ARQ_REQUEST_CHECK ie hours field or the clock times.
That means you need to clear the time fields which are derived
from the work schedule and keep it empty since these fields
are hidden in your front end and no option for the pernr to modify
or correct the times.
