Attachments and Notes in a subprocess

Hi,
I want to see the attachments and notes into a subprocess. How can I do this? I'm doing the argument mapping but I don´t see the attachments...
Anybody has a simple example with 1 interactive in the main process --> 1 call to a Subprocess with 1 interactive --> And another interactive in the main process??
Thanks!!

attachments can be shared with subprocesses by enabling an option in the process creation activity.
It is in the Advanced tab in the activity properties and it is called "Attachments can be visible to related processes"
Notes are not shared with subprocesses.

  • Attachments and notes made to a copy of an instance

We want to use a split N to make copies of an instance to go to 3 different roles at the same time.
When one person in role 1 attaches a file or creates a note will the other copies be able to see this as well?

When you add a note or attachment to one copy in a Split in 10g, the other copies automatically can see and edit the note or attachment. The reason is because the notes and attachments are actually added directly to the original instance and not the copy generated by the Split.
You can try this out on your own by downloading and importing the project on http://www.4shared.com/file/119123762/849e0e1a/SplitWithAttachmentsAndNotes.html
Note that this behavior works the same for a Split, a Multiple (Split-N in previous releases) and an Or Split. When the original instance leaves the Join, the original instance carries the notes and attachments added.
If you're curious how copies created by Splits, Multiples and Or Splits relate to the original instance, read the last post on the thread to Multiple split with dynamic participant assignment

  • Why can I no longer seemingly have the "option" in Yahoo Mail, to "View" attachments, and not just "download" them in my incoming emails?

When I use IE browser to open my YAHOO EMAIL "classic" or "New" account, and I open an "inbox email", I have the option of "viewing" attachments, or "downloading" attachments.
I used to have that "dual" option, seemingly, using Firefox Browser, which I prefer to use.
Now, when I open my "Classic" or "New" Yahoo Email Account/s, with Firefox Browser, I no longer have the option, seemingly, to "VIEW" the attachments, but only the option to "Download" them, which I prefer not to do.
I have tried this using the older version 3.6 and the new version 9 of Firefox with the same results. No "Dual Attachment Viewing/Downloading" option in Yahoo Mail anymore in either the "Classic" or "New" versions of Yahoo Mail.
Can I correct this or change this back to the older "DUAL" OPTION of "Viewing" and/or "Downloading" attachments...or is this just the way the New FireFox Browser works.?
This is only happening to me with YAHOO.COM Email Accounts.

Thank you! I suppected it would be in the settings somewhere. I' ve much to learn...get myself into trouble pushing buttons I don't really understand.

How do I send photos from iphoto as an attachment rather than in the body of the email?

Hold the comand, shift keys and tap the '+' key will increase the font size in any app.
You can also set the font size in the Mail Preferences.

  • Print only the attachment and not the email

    Hi,
Is there a way for me to set the eprint in such a way that it only prints the attachments and not the email also?
    This question was solved.

    Hi,
I affraid the answer is no.
Any content will be printed automatically and it cannot be changed.
You cannot print email attachments without also printing the email.

  • Assigning value of note from attacments and notes to process variable

    Hi all,
I am trying to get hold of the notes and attachments for a process, and I would like to get the title and text of a note and assign it to a process variable. How can this be done?
I cant find anything on notes in the help menu only for attachments.
    Thanks in advance
    Sincerely
    Kim

    Hi Paul,
Are we talking about the same type of attachments and notes?
I am talking about the attachments and notes that you can add to a process (shown in Workbench under the user step - Attacments and Notes pane).
I have managed to process a form and pull out the attachments (in a list variable), this list variable I have set as the attachment list for the first user step in the process and this gives an extra tab in Workspace which shows me the attachments that were in the form just attached to the process user step and not the PDF.
I can also add more attachments if I want or even a note for the process if I want to.
I have found a way to access the attachments in livedocs:
Creating Processes > Designing human-centric processes > Document attributes for attachments and notes (I can not make a link, sorry)
but I have no documentation for how to access the notes (which has a title and a body).
The scenario I am trying to solve is actually quite simple, I want the user to be able to add his or her own note to a step (without adding a comment field on the form) and send out an email with that exact note as a part of the body.
Like: "Form is not properly filled" or "Contact me on phone number xxx xxxxxxxx for clearing out form number YYYY".
The point is that I cannot make a change to the form (it is legally bound to a specific design).
I hope you can understand what I am trying to do.
Sorry for the long post ;)
    Sincerely
    Kim

attachments and history of my emails are not seen by Windows users

Just guessing at what you mean, try this:
In Mail, while composing a message, go to Mail's menu and click:
Edit > Attachments > Always send Windows-friendly attachments

  • In mail, my attachments, both photos and documents appear in the body of the message.  How can I get my attachments to appear as a separate attachment and not as part of the message.  Thanks for your help, Karen.

Yep! And if you absolutely need (or think you need) that functionality, it is worth every penny.
As Don already pointed out, exactly what the recipient sees will depend on how they've set up their machine and what unnecessary 3rd party apps they might've installed to display attachments the way they want.
In theory, that is true. In practice, Attachment Tamer will cause more of your messages to show up as plain-jane icons on the other end. The problem is, after all, people running Outlook 2003 and 2007. These people likely aren't doing many system modifications.
If I were you, I'd use the free solutions provided above, save my money and let my recipients decide how they will handle their mail.
    I completely agree.

  • Jpeg attachments appearing as a .dat file and not .jpeg files

Please can someone tell me how I can change jpeg attachments that are coming through on emails on my new iPhone 5 as a .dat file and not as a .jpeg file.
These .dat files cannot be opened - I assume that this will happen with PDF files as well.
    Thanks

I am surprised at this point in time no one has chimed in, seeing how many people have tried this in the pasta. I actually solved the whole clusters issue, but now I have discovered another problem that is making me throw in the towell on this one as I just can't explain it.
I am finding for some silly reason while the code will work in one VI it won't seem to work in another. See my photos below. The one where the code works, I have created the whole thing as a subroutine inside of a greater VI which I can not publish due to proprietary code. Next I tried pulling out the functioning part of the code and putting that in a stand alone file. See the photo where the code doesn't work. I have also ran the same code that doesn't work with both 1 and 2 variables. Each time Matlab can't open it. I am using the same to MAT subvi in each of these. For some reason though when I run the code in the working picture it runs, and I get a nice little mat file that I can open in Matlab. When I run the same exact code as a standalone I get the matlab error code every time.
I have tried reviewing every possible variable I can think of and worked with them. In all cases the two new VI's I made the code doesn't want to give me a valid mat file. However in the greater program it does! I am really stumped at this point. So unless I can find a better convert to matlab file code I don't think this will work.

  • I want messages with attachments to not be sorted and I want to see the attachment icon

Thanks for sending me the information on showing the attachment icon. I did what you suggested, and it did not work. And now, if I get an email with an attachment, I don't see the email--it is buried somewhere in my inbox. I used to be able to get messages with attachments and they would come in chronological order, and there would be an attachment icon. Can you please help?

Click on the header label DATE to sort by date. Click DATE a 2nd time to reverse the sort order.
This works on any header. The one to click on is where it is going to sort.
Do you have the attachment column showing? See image.
If not click the circled icon and add it.

  • Sending attachments as icons and not an immediately viewable picture.

    Hi folks
How can I send an attachment as a folder +icon + file size etc. At the present time when I attach a photo it shows up as a big photo on the email. I want it to show up UNOPENED as a document etc ie jpeg icon + size etc. How can I change this?
    TIA
    Wokka

Basically, this function is not controllable by you -- it is the recipients' email client that will elect or not elect to View in Place (also called Inline View). Although you are seeing the attached photo files with View in Place, they are nonetheless true attachments, and many email clients receiving the message will show the Icon and size, and some will both do that, and provide View in Place.
Don't sweat it -- if you don't want to see as you continue to Compose, Control-click on any file that is viewing in place, and choose View as Icon. But this has no influence on how sent.
If you zip, then recipients will be forced to Unzip, will at first not see the icon you are talking about.

  • XfinityConnect Email attachments will not drag and drop.

DATE (yyyy-mm-dd) : 2015-04-10 15:00PM Email attachments will not drag and drop.   This feature was working for years, then suddenly I only can attach files to an Email by opening up the directory browser to.... aaarg... go get one - file - at - a - time, or zip 'em up for the one fetch, yet still... drag and drop is soooooo much better. Specifications:Using XfinityConnect 'full' version.Do not use an email client.Browser/version Windows Explorer V11Cleared browser cache.Operating system: Windows 7 Ultimate

I have the same complaint.  Drag and drop worked until last week, 2015-04-05!    Must now do one at a time through the ATTACH button at top of E-mail.   Why change a good process?

  • HT1146 missing task bar icon for adding attachments , and it is not in the customize task bar icons, where could it have gone?

I am missing the icon on my taskbar in mail for sending attachments, and it is not in the customize taskbar part of my mail program. Where did it go, or how do I restore it since it is missing??
    Thx,

"The top of the screen" is called the menu bar.  It changes, and is based on whichever application is currently selected.
In Mail.app, the attach icon is the paperclip icon that shows in the default icon set of the so-called compse window; when you have requested the creation of a new mail message, or the creation of a reply.  In the compose window with the default icons, the attach button is the middle of the five leftmost buttons in the tool bar.
It's quite possible to hide the toolbar entirely (that's controlled from the same pop-up menu as the Customize Toolbar... or can be controlled from the View > Show Toolbar or View > Hide Toolbar within the Mail.app menubar.
To capture an image of the toolbar state (if it's not that the toolbar is hidden, or has been customized), then open Mail.app, create a new (empty) message, and to capture (just) the application display window, press the Command(⌘)-Shift-4 keys as a chord, the cursor will change to a reticule (a cross-hair), place the reticule over the mail application compose window, press the space bar (to highlight the window) and click.  This will save a screen shot of just the specified application window into a Screen Shot file (the rest of the name will be the date and time of the screen shot) on your desktop.
Inferring from your references and the terms you are using here, it would appear you might be unfamiliar with OS X and -- if that's the case -- then there's the available Apple Mac 101 introduction that might help clarify the environment.
