Attachments can't be opened in Yahoo mail.
When I send an email to my own email account with an attached Word document, the attachment comes over to the iPhone as a *.dat file and cannot be opened. When emails with attachments are sent from other email accounts, the attachments can be opened just fine. I am using Outlook on a PC and the email account uses an at&t mail server which is handled through Yahoo mail on the iPhone. Any ideas? Just don't ask why I am sending email to myself.
The problem goes away when I use Yahoo Webmail to send stuff to myself -- both the computer and iPhone are able to receive openable attachments.

After opening my yahoo mail window, I keep getting a very short and narrow dialogue box with the words "log into Xmarks" I cannot ... when it pops up, always upper left of my laptop screen and I try to get into my yahoo mail web page, I get a DING sound and cannot enter it ... everything is frozen. I have to hit CNTRL + ALT + ESC to get rid of it - and then reload my Firefox browser to get back to my yahoo e-mail page ... fortunately for me, Firefox re-stores a previous session ... Remove VideoFileDownload and find a downloader that doesn't contain TextEnhance.

Firefox is my browser. Until recently, I was able to open my virgin e.mails ok. Now I can't. I haven't made any setting changes. I can open my Yahoo mail ok, just not my virgin mail. Virgin tell me its a browser (incompatibility) problem. I can open my Virgin mail if I use Internet Explorer. I can get to my Virgin mail page ok, I can see I have mail etc., it just won't let me open that mail. All I get to see is the title of the mail but no content.

It sounds as though a script on the site, or an advertisement, is not working quite right...
When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
(You also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
orange Firefox button ''or'' Tools menu > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now")
(2) Remove the site's cookies using either of these. Save any pending work first.
While viewing a page on the site:
* right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
Then try reloading the page. Does that help? -
ever since i put a child lock on my Mac its never been the same .. now i cant even open my yahoo mail without it wanting me to reinstall this, can someone please help me work this out
What "child lock" are you talking about?
Do you mean you set up a Managed account (Parental Controls), or some other software?
For Parental Controls, select the account in Users & Groups and uncheck the "Enable parental controls" checkbox. -
When I try to open my Yahoo mail in safari, I get a message which states:" In order to use Yahoo mail, please turn Private Browsing off. Please go to Settings>Safari>Private Browsing, and turn off" The problem is, my ipad does not a Private Browsing switchat this location.
With iOS 7 on the iPad, you turn Private Browsing on and off by tapping the URL field. The screen that opens up has your bookmarks on it. In the bottom left corner is a hot button marked 'PRIVATE'. Tap on the word 'PRIVATE' to turn private browsing on or off. Yeah, there aren't any instructions anywhere that I can find to do this, and if you follow Yahoo's instructions, they don't work. This doesn't happen with the previous Apple OS, and you can restore your iPad to the older OS.

Safari works fine for all sites but as soon as I login to mail.yahoo.com and enter my login/password then I get the spinnig color wheel. Force quit is the only way out. I beleive my Mail Yahoo was working fine last month (started having this issue a couple weeks ago).

There was a workaround posted, but I've not tested it myself. Here are the steps.
# Go into Yahoo Messenger Options - Change the Window in the dropdown to Tab and press OK.
# Then go back and switch it to small window and press OK.
Once the bug is officially resolved, you could try running a Nightly or Aurora build to use the fix early.

Can not open my yahoo mail. Can't find on server but can open in all other browsers
Yahoo mail will not open in Firefox new 4.0 or older versions.
However, I can open in Safari and IE7.
Have talked to several folks that are having the same problem and most are just switching to other browsers and the problem goes away. I would prefer to solve the problem rather than just giving up and switching permanently to another browser. Different computers and I have the same problem. Copying the mail address from IE7 to firefox and it still can not find the mail account. Does find other web addresses just fine. It is something to do with yahoo mail.if that is giving you a problem you might wanna look into

UPDATE:
After waiting for about ten days, I tried setting up my e-mail the regular way (by selecting yahoo mail) again yesterday. To my surprise, it went through without a glitch. I guess the cache of the gateway server must have been reset.
I have been enjoying push for yahoo mail for the last 24 hours again. But I just noticed now, that the problems might be starting again. There are recent e-mails that don't show up on my phone, but do through yahoo's web mail page. When I select "refresh" through the menu on the phone, I see the circle in the top corner spinning for as long as I wait, but the e-mails don't get downloaded. That is exactly how my problems had started in the first place. I will give it the benefit of the doubt and wait and hope that it fixes itself.
There might be a compatibility problem with yahoo servers and the verizon email gateway because I have two gmail accounts set up with the stock e-mail the same way, both using verizon's gateway server for push, and they have both been working with no problems for almost a month. (Even though sometimes the "push" is delayed by up to 5-10 min, most of the time it is within a couple of minutes and that's fine, I'm not that picky) And when I do "refresh", ti only takes a few seconds to complete the request.
And I still haven't heard anything from Verizon.
