Attachments don't open in PDF review

Hello,
I cannot open any of the attachments in my  PDF shared review (I use Acrobat X). All our reviews are stored on a sharepoint site, btw.
I see all the attachment icons (paperclips/push pins) but when I double click on them (or right click, 'open file'), nothing happens.
I checked the 'attachments' folder that is automatically created when you start a shared review, and it shows all the attached files (in .bin format) just like all my other reviews, however for some obscure reason I can't open them in the review. Could someone shed some light on this?
Thanks for your help

  • Incoming gif attachments don't open

The incoming gif attachments open as icons with no content.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
I believe with Leopard, animated GIFs support was discontinued in Mail. It might be an animated GIF you are trying to load.

  • MATLAB attachments don't open in TextEdit

I understand how to set applications for types on a Mac. However, there is a problem.
When I receive an email with a .m file (MATLAB), it should open in TextEdit (on a Mac) because that is the application I have set on my machine. I have also set unknown types and plain text to open using TextEdit. But Thunderbird opens a copy of the email message in another window and includes the .m file as an attachment. It seems to ignore that the default application is set to TextEdit.

If you open Preferences(or AppMenu/Options/Options)/Attachments/Incoming, is there an entry for .m content type files? If so, delete it by clicking the Action drop-down, OK, restart TB, double-click (Open) a .m attachment, and set the default application for .m files; if TextEdit isn't displayed, click the 'Open with' drop-down, Other... and browse to the TextEdit program.
On my Win 7 system, the default text editor is already offered as the default program for opening .m attachments, and the attachment is displayed inline as plain text.

  • Document attachments don't open when tapped on iphone

I've recieved docs in my email (not outlook, just hotmail, outlook another nightmare)but can't open them. The file names are supported; excel and word docs both cases. I tap them, the phone behaves as though its looking for something and then nothing appears, no document, no icon, no nothing. The phone has been synced but not set up with my email account, other than just reading my hotmail account from the browser.
Is there a step I'm missing? Do I need to do something in settings for email to make this work?

Yes, after you have selected them to download, after they download you must touch the screen again to open them.
    That's it!!

  • Attachment don't open en previewer is not working in Outlook 2013

When i get office attachments in an e-mail in outlook 2013 on a windows 8.1 pro.
The attachments don't open. And the previewer of outlook tels me that the content can not be previewed.
Any one any idea what can be the solution to open and preview these documents?

    Hi,
Did you get any error message when you try to open attachments?
What's the file type of the attachments? Can you open and preview a Word or Excel attachment in Outlook? By default, Microsoft Outlook 2013 blocks potentially unsafe attachments (including .bat, .exe, .vbs, and .js files) that can contain
    viruses.
In addition, please try to clean out the Temporary Outlook Files folder to check if it helps. See:
    http://www.howto-outlook.com/faq/securetemp.htm
Please let me know the result.

    Dear Dan,
It was from InDesign that I was creating the shared pdfs. I was one of two Mac drivers in a corporate sea of Win users and had to make the change I mentioned in order for the Win users to see my pdfs for review. The difference from what you appear to be doing was that were all on an MS Exchange Server so the files were shared over the company's Exchange Server e-mail system. However, some of these files occasionally went to outside users via regular e-mail and those people had no issues either.
So what I did was tested and worked for years.
You might look at the Adobe forums or Knowledge Base to see if that is a reported issue with newer version of CS. I was on CS2 when I was doing this, and the other Mac driver was on CS3 but had no problems either.
Some Win users I've talked to find a problem opening some pdfs (not mine) in general and found they had to open Reader first and them open the file from Reader's File menu. That most often happened if the client was using an outdated version of Reader.

  • Pdf files don't open in Chrome after Yosemite upgrade

Trying to open a pdf or a ppt attachments on latest Chrome after the Yosemite upgrade, nothing happens. Please share your experience or a suggessted fix or a work around. I am using a macbook white early 2009

I am not one to recommend reinstall, but that might be required. One of the problems with CC is that it leaves some info in the system that makes it think it is installed, even after you uninstall it. There is a fix for that, but I don't remember it (right now I am not remembering much with pneumonia). If you decide to uninstall, you should go through the uninstall process (there may be a special uninstall for CC that I have not seen). Then run Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs. Remove any leftover part of the Acrobat folder, reboot, and reinstall. It may reinstall or you might run into that other fix that is needed. In that case you will have to search the forum.

  • Pdf email attachments won't open

After upgrading to IOS 7 the pdf email attachments are not opening...just says "loading" and never loads.

    Hi DVFFTI,
I'm not sure from your description if you're having the same problem I was having.
In my case, PDF attachments would only display as a single image of the first page of the PDF.
The only option I had was to Copy or Save the image. I couldn't open a preview of the full PDF in Mail or tap to 'Open in...' a different app.
Turns out that I had too many apps on my iPhone that can read PDFs, for example, Dropbox, Evernote, iBooks, Kindle, etc. even a Canon app for remote printing.
Removing one of them fixed the issue for me.
I remember this happening before and seeing other threads about this, so I don't think it's specific to iOS 7.
Give it a go and see if it fixes your problem. Hope it helps.

  • Mail (in Mountain Lion) automatically opens my PDF attachments rather that adding them as a file. How do i stop this?

Mail (in Mountain Lion) automatically opens my PDF attachments rather than attaching them as a "file". How can I prevent this?

Download and run the free application TinkerTool (not "TinkerTool System"), select the Applications tab, and check the box labeled Don't display contents of attachments inline. Then relaunch Mail.

    What is your operating system?
Open a PDF from where?  If online, in what browser?

I am not able to open the pdf attachments that someone sent me it comes up with a gray box saying adobe cannot open?

Make sure the pdf has the '.pdf' extension on the file name. I've seen this a few times and adding the extension usually solves the problem.

It may depend on the plugin that is loaded into your browser. However, right click on a PDF and select the Open With option and go to the default button to select Acrobat as the default. That might do it.

Hi,I am having difficulty with opening up PDFs attachments in my email or on my computer. Every time I tried to open up an attachment, it asks me to renew my subscription when I already  have a valid subscription. Please abvise

Can you save the PDF to your disk and then open them with Acrobat?

  • I can't open attachments on my iPad 2.  I have downloaded the 8.0.2 software update.  I can't open jpgs, PDFs, docs. or movie files now.

I can't open attachments on my iPad 2t and I can't open jpgs, PDFs, docs. or movie files now.

Obviously, you are talking about the mail app, so force close the mail app and reset your iPad. If that fails, reset all settings.
In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
When you reset all settings, you will not lose any data, but most of the device settings will have to be entered in the settings app again. Settings>General>Reset>Reset all Settings.
