Attachments fail in Gmail

I can no longer attach anything to my Gmail messages. No problems in IE, but Firefox is my browser of choice!

hello bklyngrrl, firefox has introduced a new protocol named SPDY that should make pages load faster and is used on google pages. i've seen a report by another user who had the same problem uploading attachments to gmail as long as spdy was enabled.
could you please try the following: enter '''about:config''' into the location bar & search for all preferences beginning with '''network.http.''' - in case any of them is shown in bold & therefore not on its default value please right click and reset those preferences. afterwards restart the browser and see if the problem is gone.
when this did not resolve the issue or all entries were already set to their default values, please toggle '''network.http.spdy.enabled''' (again in about:config) to '''false''' by double-clicking it & restart the browser again.
in case the latter resolved the issue, could you please provide information on how you are accessing the internet (provider/ the hardware model of your router) & which security software is running on your system - maybe this information will help firefox developers to fix the underlying issue... thank you very much!

  • 4k Attachments fail in compoze forum with oracle

    Hi!
    We are using the compoze forum application that comes with Weblogic-8.1.2 in our portal. It works fine with pointbase, but when we it with oracle as database the attachments don't work properly. One can post and read attachments that are smaller than 4k, but when posting attachments over 4k reading of the attachments fail. It seems that the BLOB for the attachment in the MessageFileTable or TopicFileTable is empty. There is no errormessage. And yes, I remembered to change
    set HARMONY_PORTLETS_PROPERTIES=-Dejbruntime.database=oracle81xthin
    in setDomainEnv.sh. (We are using the Oracle Thin driver oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver).
    Who can help resolving this problem? Thank you very much!

    Those are environment variables of the Windows user who is running brbackup; usually this is SAPService<SID>.
    You have to set this variables the same way as you set ORACLE_HOME and so on.
    (I am not sure about the details; never worked with MS cluster.)

    This may be a limitation to the size of the attachments your ISP will allow. Please check with your ISP first to see the maximum size attachment they will accomodate.

  • Can't upload attachments consistently in gmail using firefox 34

    I'm running into an odd problem that doesn't seem to be addressed anywhere I've searched. I am trying to add attachments to gmail messages using Firefox 34, but I get an error message "Attachment Failed" with options to try again. The interesting this is that if I click "Try again" multiple times, it will eventually load the attachment. Now for some of the facts:
    1. I've made an exception for mail.google.com in my pop-ups
    2. I've cleared my cookies and cache...repeatedly.
    3. I've noticed that my Kaspersky 2014 URL Advisor extension is not compatible with Firefox 34, but I can't see how that is the problem.
    4. I have even tried turning off my proxy to see if it helps - it doesn't
    5. I can upload attachments fine in IE - a browser I detest.
    Any suggestions?

  • Remove Attachments also removes Gmail labels?

    Whenever I "remove attachments" from a message in my inbox, the message disappears from my inbox. However, the message is still in my Gmail "All Mail" folder. So, I'm thinking that "remove attachments" is also removing the inbox label from the message.
    I also found that if I first move the message to a project folder, an then use the "remove attachements" command, the message disappears from the project folder.
    Does anyone have a fix for this?

    I am not sure when I will get the chance to test this -- maybe this afternoon. But I had not understood that what you called original continued to have the attachments. If so, this strongly suggests to me that it indeed may be the way Gmail maintains the All Mail folder that is causing this. See:

    If there is a setting to help this, it will have to be one that is selected in the Settings webpage of Gmail, I suspect.

  • Attachments fail to reach the recipient | Mail 2.1 / 10.4.7

    After the 10.4.7 update, 95% of the attachments I send, fail to reach the recipient. Mac to Mac works just fine, but Windows users fail to recieve the attachments. It all started after I the 10.4.7 update. Somebody told me to change the Message format to Plain text, but that didn't work. I´ve tried several different encodings too.
    This is really starting to annoy me, and I'm thinking of reverting to 10.4.6. I'm having this same problem on several different Macs. I've repaired disk permissions and trashed the Mail plist.
    Before the 10.4.7 update, only a handful of my Windows (clients) recipients had problems recieving the attachments (the fonts would also garbe, scandinavian letters) but now all seem to be affected. I don´t think the problem can be in the recipients end?

    Hi.
    After som extensive testing, I've come to the conclusion, that in my case F-Secure is the culprit. I sent an email to F-Secure and described the problem. They sent me an file, that I could send to my clients. It replaced the old file at this directory: C:\Program Files\F-Secure\FSPS\Program\ >> FSLSP.DLL
    But after this, some clients informed me, that the attachment didn't go awall, but instead they got a virus message. F-Secure Anti-Virus claimed that my PDF was infact a file by the name Trojan-Downloader.Win32.Obfuscated.a
    I'm completely fed up with this problem now. It doesn't matter if I send my messages with Mail or Eudora, Plain text or RTF, the problem is still F-Secure.
    But I've found a solution. By zipping the file, the recipients can recieve the attachment. But the trick is to first move the file into a new folder and zip the folder (for example letter.zip). If I just zip the PDF-file (letter.pdf.zip), then it doesn't work.
    I write a lot on a finnish Mac-forum and there are a lot of users who have this identical problem and the recipients all have F-Secure installed. F-Secure has a lot of users here in Finland.

  • Connection to the server failed in Gmail

    Hi,  I just got a replacement iPhone 5 and I Restored from a Backup after an unfortunate accident.  Almost everything is there in the backup except the passwords (as i did not ecrypted the Backup).
    My problem is that now I cannot access My Gmail email, calendar and Contacts.  The phone keeps giving me the error "connection to server failed"!!
    Has anybody had this problem before and how was it solved?

    Encrpyting or not encrypting the iPhone's backup has no effect on this.
    I have never encrypted my iPhone's backup and when transferring the backup for an old iPhone to a new iPhone, the passwords for my email accounts were transferred with the backup.
    Have you tried deleting and recreating the Gmail account on your iPhone?

  • Thunderbird fails to gmail smtp - ssl_error_inappropriate_fallback_alert

    I've a new install on an a work XP machine. The same install version on a home XP machine does not have the same problem with the same gmail accounts.
    On the work machine with a clean install of 31.3.0 thunderbird, I cannot use gmail smtp services. Other smtp services to yahoo and my own domain work properly.
    The error log;
    Timestamp: 1/7/2015 8:01:35 AM
    Error: An error occurred during a connection to smtp.googlemail.com:465.
    The server rejected the handshake because the client downgraded to a lower TLS version than the server supports.

    Following the guide for a firefox issue I followed the recommendation to modify the "security.tls.version.min"

    For values 0 and 1, the same error log appears. For values 2 and 3 no error log is written to the error console yet sending mail still fails with;
    Sending of message failed.
    The message could not be sent using SMTP server smtp.googlemail.com for an unknown reason. Please verify that your SMTP server settings are correct and try again, or contact your network administrator
    Any thoughts?

    On the same work machine I can add the gmail account into MS Outlook, sending to googlemail.com:465 or gmail.com:465 work properly.
    Also tried switching Thunderbird to use ports 587 and 25. When using either of these ports thunderbird takes a minute, then fails to connect to the remote server. Error log get this written;

    I can't be certain if it is a corporate firewall issue or not. They may pinhole the ports when used by Outlook but block them from other apps.

This fails since Mail has no entitlement to write to the cocoa app's cache folder.
    Where can Mail write, and can my cocoa app read it, or will sandboxing prevent this too?

  • PI 7.11 process SOAP message  with Attachments failed

    Hello,
    we have a scenario where the sender (3rd-Party) start a sync call via PI to a receiver (SAP BW system).
    The receiver send a response with attachment. SAP processed the message successfully but sender could not processed message because the SOAP header do not have the attribut Content-Transfer-Encoding.
    with this attribut I could tell the sender that the attachments are more then 7bit.
    How to can I set this attribut into the SOAP header in the SAP PI?
    Or have someone an other idee?

    It talks about content ID, content description, content type, content disposition but it does not mention Content-Transfer-Encoding.

    I installed JDEV 11.1.1.6,UCM,RCU,weblogic & soa.
    I created a simple application in BPM with one use case.
    and i configured UCM,soa & weblogic.
    Below are the steps what i did :
    -- Go to EM. Click on SOA node. Click on soa-infra node. On the right panel,
    click on the "Soa Infrastructure" dropdown menu. In the dropdown, select "SOA Adminstration". In the
    sub-menu, "Workflow Task Service Properties".

    Also,
    Check your $DOMAIN_HOME/config/fmwconfig/system-jazn-data.xml. Search for WF-ADMIN-USER.
    Check the jar name at the begining of grant elem. It has a typo in the path. It should oralce.soa.workflow
    instead of oralce.bpm.workflow. Make this change and restart the server. This bug was fixed just before
    GA release.
    The above are the steps i followed.
    I deployed the BPM application and i am getting attachment options like :
    Upload to UCM
    Attcahment from UCM
    I am selecting Upload to UCM
    but i am getting below errors:
    Content item '(null)' was not successfully checked in. Content account is not defined. Unable to validate user security.
    Error occurred while inserting a task attachment record.
    Error occurred while inserting attachment change in soa file.txt for task 77a010b3-64ec-49f8-b2e2-211c11f3232f.
    Check the underlying exception and the database connection information. If the error persists, contact Oracle Support Services.
    Can you please look into this issue and provide me needful steps to make me succeed in this integration.

    The current integration between BPM and WCC (WebCenter Content, or UCM) is very easy to configure. Should you have already a VM with BPM, just:
    - install WCC and extend the domain with Content Server. If possible, run new managed server in same machine and leave all ports as default (16200 and 4444) so that you don't even need to setup BPM for UCM as it's already configured OOTB with default IDC port (4444).
    - Enable Folders_g in the new UCM managed server (requires restart of UCM's server).
    - Enable a Human Task with "Use Document Package". If it's a project converted from a pre-PS4FP installation, rebuild the Human Task Form.
    - Redeploy and that should do the trick.

  • UAG 2010 SP3 - OWA Exchange 2010 - Large attachments fail to open

    We have a UAG 2010 SP3 server in front of Exchange 2010 CAS. On the UAG side we have disabled the component installation and activation for UAG within the session configuration. When users access OWA and open attachments it works fine up until a certain
    size of an attachment. Somewhere around 10MB we are unable to download externally from OWA. At that point when clicking on the attachment a "The page cannot be displayed" is received. 
    Attachments of sizes larger than 10MB are able to be opened internally accessing the CAS directly. Under the Download/Upload configuration of the OWA application in UAG Identify by URL is checked for both (Uploads has Identify by size but Download
    is unchecked). 
    Is there a limitation on UAG to OWA download size? Is there any other configuration that should be checked to alleviate this issue?

  • Remove Attachments fails to leave notation of attachment removed

    In most e-mail programs, if you remove an attachment from any e-mail, in your Sent box, in your In box, wherever, the file or image is replaced with a notation: "appletree.jpg removed by John Smith at 8:30 a.m. on 9/25/09"
    It seems like under Snow Leopard, this feature does work, but only on video attachments. With images, it sometimes leaves a placeholder graphic but no notation.

    Got the same problem.
    However I am using Exchange account and have not exceeded the limits for large attachments.
    Above 1Mb it gets really slow and seem to time out.
    It works well with the exchange web interface (OWA).

  • All of a sudden my computer stopped sending attachments from my gmail account and another mail account.  When I try to attach a document the email account starts to reload

    How do I fix this problem?

    1. Try reinstall iLIfe 09 from your install disk
    To re-install iPhoto
    1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
    2. Download it from the App Store to reinstall It's on your Purchases List* there.
    For older versions that have been installed from Disk you'll need these additional steps:
    2a: On 10.5:  Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
    2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows:  In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
    /var/db/receipts/
    2c: on 10.7 or later they're at
    /private/var/db/receipts
    A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
    3. Re-install.
    If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
    If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.

    One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?
    iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.
    If that fails, then you're reinstalling the OS.
