Attachments problem

I would like the remove or delete the attachments on the instance variable "attachments". I can create only new attachments but I can modify by code.
I have to use the PAPI?

Email xml attachments: Problems with charset

Hi all,
I have an email proxy to read emails with xml attachements. In the pipeline i recovered the xml file and covert it to Base64. When i execute it on a windows environment the process works fine with all characters (ó,ò,ñ,Ç, etc..) but if it is executed on a unix enviroment these chars aren't codified rigthly.
Some suggestions, please...

No errors in OSB. Yes, i know "Request encoding" field, but doesn't work. I think this only apply to email body but not for xml attachments, i don't know... Yes, the console shows bad chars as well as the log file.
If the xml attachment has not special chars then OSB can process the file, convert to Base64 and send this file to destination system. Then, destion system (TrustedX: to verify digital signature) return ok.
If the xml attachment contains "ñ, ó,etc...." chars then OSB can process the file, convert to Base64 and send this file to TrustedX, but TrustedX return "bad chars" error.
I tried to save the Base64 file and descode this file. The result was a XML file with bad chars instead of special chars...
Do you think someting like this can resolve the problem?: -Duser.language=es -Duser.region=ES -DLANG=es_ES.iso885915@euro -DNLS_LANG=spanish_spain.we8iso8859p15 -DNLS_NUMERIC_CHARACTERS=,. OR -Dfile.encoding=??? --> in the OSB startup file. Am not sure because on windows works without these options....

Mail: signature, logo, attachments problem.

my company moved to macs half year ago and we still have problems with mail. Anyway, we will try to solve this problem, maybe changing to other mail client. I will appreciate all suggestions. This is what we want:
/----company logo.jpg----/
text message.
/----text signature----/
attachments
We want this signature to be universal for the most popular mail clients (Mac mail, outlook express, thunderbird). Everytime we send e-mail messages with signature like this, everything goes to attachments. When we were working with Outlook express, everything was fine, so I hope we can make it in mac mail too.

You really cannot do this. It is not so much a Mail problem. You are wanting to send a jpg in the signature block. You have no control over what the recipient will see. Even if the image shows up, it will also show that there is an attachment.
In my day job, I use Entourage on a MPB.
You send email to me. I get it and there is the logo in he signature block. It will display nicely, but I will also see there is an attachment. (This is not Mail.app's fault, it is how it is done.) I reply to you. The reply has your signature block in it if I include what I am replying to. You reply to my reply. Now there are two signature blocks and two attachments. Ans so on.'
Logos are good on web sites and on paper correspondence. I wish I could convince you to not do this. And don't use "stationery" on email either.
Again, it is not a Mail problem, per se. And you have no idea what the recipient will and will not be able to see.

Upload/Attachments Problem

Hi I was wondering if anyone could help.
I have been having trouble uploading attachments to my emails and even loading photos on Facebook.
I keep getting an error that says something like...." did not receive the whole file, therefore the file could not be attached"
has anyone else had this problem or does anyone know how to fix it.

Email attachments problem

Hi,
I am new here but have problem with attachments and it is totalny strange.
I have iPad 4 with new Systtem and my problem is that iPad downloads only one attachment from all that were sent. The same is with my wife iPad (same parametry). What can be wrong that for example only one picture can be sen and others are just icons with 2 blue Windows on it.

Uploading email attachments problems on my DELL

I have a DELL I6400 running Windows XP, IE Ver. 8. When trying to clicking the "Browse" button in my Yahoo email to search files I want to attach to my emails I get the following error:
"This Tab has been recovered. A problem with this webpage caused IE to close and reopen the tab"
I am then immediately placed back to an empty email. I had been running IE Ver. 7, and received same error--with this version I was completely taken out of IE.
As a workaround, I load my files on a stick, take them to another computer, then bring up my Yahoo account and create my emails (with no problem adding my attachments). I really need a functional email with attachments on my laptop.
As for virus scans, I do daily with Webroot Antivirus with Antispyware (Geek Squad had to completely clean up my computer 2 months ago, because of nasty infections!).
Anybody have an idea what is unique with my computer that is causing the error?

Im not sure whats causing all the crashing on Internet Explorer 8 , I had so many issues it was not funny!
If anyone else has some insight or tech bulletins, please post them?

Attachments problems with iMessage - Question marks, empty attachments

I am having a new problem and am looking for advice. I'm using iMessage across multiple devices - iPhone 6 on iOS 8.1.1, iMac on OS 10.10.1, and iPad Air on iOS 8.1. I recently, within the past two weeks, upgraded my OS on the iMac to Yosemite. The problem is that all the attachments... pictures, videos, vCards.. are showing as empty attachments in my iMessage history. I often refer to my message history for these pictures and files, and the files are not showing any more on my phone. The images show an outline with a question mark and the vCards don't open at all. Interestingly, I upgraded my wife's macbook air to Yosemite in the same time frame and she is having the same problem with her iPhone on iOS 8.1. The craziest part of all this is that the attachments all show up just fine when I open messages on the iMac. However, I rarely use messages on the iMac so having the attachments there is of no use to me. I need to be able to see the attachments on my phone. I have tried logging out of iMessage on my phone and on the iMac.
I have searched the boards for answers and have not found a concise answer. Any help is much appreciated.

Mail: 10.9.1 hasn't fixed group email and attachments problems

Hi all.
I was under the impression these were fixed by 10.9.1. but not for me.
Group email: trying to add a group to the BCC line email freezes Mail. I have to do this several times a day. I have several Contacts groups and Mail hangs whichever one I try to mail.
Attachments: every attempt to send mail with an attachment is rejected. I get the 'try again/choose another server' window after several minutes. Trying again is always successful, immediately. This has only happened since Mavericks and no settings have changed at the server end.

Attachments problems with eudora mailbox imported to apple mail.

greetings,
i am considering moving from eudora to apple mail. i've done a test of importing one of the eudora mailboxes and am having a problem with the attachments.
the attachments to the messages in the eudora mailbox appear to be recognized by the apple mailtool. however, apple will not display the attachments. my test is with a mailbox i keep messages from a friend who travels a lot and sends me jpegs of his trips. the import gave no error messages.
after the import, i can see all the message are in the new mailbox. i can open them fine. however, when viewing messages in apple mail that had attachments, mail shows the message and also shows a list of the pics attached, but it doesn't display the jpgs.
"This message has the following attachments:
.../Library/Mail/Attachments/xxx.jpg, etc..."
i can go to the attachment directory and find the jpegs there. they open fine in preview... but there seems to be no way to view or double click the filename to open it.
i've searched the local help and this forum and haven't found this thread yet...
does anyone have any experience with importing email with attachments?
is there some setting i need to change in mail to display the attachments or open them?
i appreciate any suggestions or pointers to the solution if somewhere on web...

this software seems to bypass apple's "import" and does it's own method of getting the mail files into apple's mailtool... in addition to allowing apple's mail to display the attachments (jpgs, pdfs, etc) this also looks like it preserved the message status... the read messages are marked "read" instead of "unread" also...
i wonder if there is a way to transfer them back, if i decide to go back to eudora after trying apple's mail... my next quest... i will be very flexible to try apple's mail if it is not a 1 way journey, since i'm looking for some solutions in apple's mail... thanks for reading-

Mail 5 - attachments problem

Hi there!
I've been experiencing some troubles since I installed Lion with Mail and the image attachments.
Every single time I send a mail with an image on it, the result is not an image attached, instead my emails contain the image as a part of the text.
Does anyone knows how to fix it?

It might be worth running Disk Utilities and then Repair Disk Permissions to see if that resolves the problem.

Mail updating attachments problem

Hi,
To make some more space in my mail box I recently deleted about 6months worth of attachments from emails from one of my inboxes. Now when I start up mail & click on the affected mailbox I get a message saying:
"Updating number of attachments for message 12 of 1936"
It never gets further than 12 no matter how long I leave it for, new mail still comes in ok & I can still send, other mailboxes are unaffected.
Any one got any ideas?? The only thing I've tried so far is a permissions repair but that has had no effect

All messages and message attachments should be stored in the mbox package file.
It appears some messages or a message with a large attachment is being incorrectly stored in the content_index package file since this file should not be 5.1MB in size.
Copy the old INBOX.mbox moved to the Desktop and place the copy in another location of your choosing such as your Documents folder for backup purposes.
Repeat Show Package Contents for the original INBOX.mbox on the Desktop and delete all package files except for the mbox file at 289.7MB in size and empty the Trash.
With the Mail.app quit and using the Finder, go to Home > Library > Mail > Mailboxes.
Move the INBOX.mbox from the Desktop within and at the first level within the Mailboxes folder.
Launch Mail and this transferred mailbox will be available within the On My Mac folder in the mailboxes drawer or if you don't have a .Mac or IMAP account or no On My Mac folder, below Trash or Junk in the mailboxes drawer.
Select this mailbox in the mailboxes drawer and the Mail.app will take additional time to re-index the mailbox. If successful and when completed, all messages in the message list for this mailbox will appear as unread. To mark all messages as read, select a message in the message list and at the menu bar, go to Edit > Select All. At the menu bar, go to Message > Mark and select As Read.
Use the Rebuild Mailbox function on this mailbox for good measure.
If this resolves the problem and there are no missing messages, you can transfer all messages to the new Inbox mailbox for the account under "In" in the mailboxes drawer and then delete the old transferred mailbox or leave these messages in the existing location.

Work Flow Attachments Problem

i have to create a work flow to send notifications along with attachments. I am successful in sending when there is one attachment. But i couldn't make out how to send more than 1 attachment. The attachment number may vary from 0-10. How to keep the wf in aloop? can any one help me?

SOAP-attachments Problem

I have to implement a File Transfer Service from one application to the other application. Initially I thought to do it with socket programming. In that case I have to take care of all the details. Then I decided to use SOAP-attachments to transfer the files. I want to send the files as the attachments to a SOAP message, so that I need not do the low level stuff. But, I am not sure which is the best solution. The files which I send are very big like 10MB or 20MB. Is it good to send them as an attachments to SOAPMessage(Using JAXM) or to go for socket programming. Does JAXM support transfer of big files? Or, if you know any other better solution for transfer of files from application to application please suggest me.

I'm about to decide the same thing and was trying to find information on large attachments to SOAP messages and whether it's a good idea or not. Specifically, I'm wondering if these large files are read completely into memory at any point or if the API is smart enough to cache...

Email & attachments problems

When I send an email to a pc user, it appears fine on their end. However, when I cut or copy an email from an existing template to create a new email, this email then loses all its formatting on the pc end. All paragraphs disappear etc. In particular, when I add an attachment, even if I click send windows friendly attachment, the email then also appears as an attachment on the pc end, as an ATT doc. Any advice on how to stop it doing this?

The problem is due to the use of Rich Text Format, most likely, and the presence of two or more different fonts. For many windows users, notably those using Outlook, Outlook Express or even Lotus Notes, when Mail 2.x converts RTF to HTML (which happens when there are two or more fonts). The only real solution is to convert the message to Plain Text if you are going to add an attachment. This can be done by clicking on Format in Menubar, and choosing Make Plain Text, without changing the general Composing Preference.

Blank PDF attachments problem

When emailing a marketing document, and attaching a PDF of the document sometimes we get a blank PDF file created and emailed. This problem seems to be random, we can find nothing common with the problem PDF's. If the user emails the document again it works OK. Any ideas or suggestions?

Check authorizations and make sure the users have the correct access to the server, use explorer to check.
ie. load explorer, enter your server name in the address:
servername\
If prompted for Userid & Password this means no connection.
Also you might check into if anyone modified the PLD's
