Attachments (such as pdf) in a mail merge Outlook 2010

Along with the problem of having the mail merges sent from the wrong email account, I also need to attach a PDF of a brochure for the recipient's printing.  I don't see a way to do this.  Can someone help?  I did a search and it mentions a
Visual Basic way to do this but I don't know the first thing about usng Visual Basic.  I am willing to learn if that is the only way these issues can be overcome.
Thanks.

OK, well it looks like I have answered this question myself.  It may not be the easiest or the most elegant solution, but my Googling came up with this
http://omma.sourceforge.net/.  It actually works rather nicely, but you have to set Outlook to work Offline first and then do the full mail merge.  Once the completed and merged emails are in the Outlook
Outbox, you run the script and it pulls the selected attachment and adds it to the emails one at a time.  It takes several minutes to complete, but it works.
If anyone else has a more efficient solution, please feel free to chime in.  I DO still need help with the selection of the outgoing email account, so if you have any solution for that, please let me know.
Thanks.

  • I have ipad2, I need a good app to help me open any attachments such as PDF , word or others, please help

How can I get a good app to open any email with different attachments such as PDF , word and others, something to open
Easily just like my PC . Is it possible?

Those document types should open in the Mail app. If you want to transfer them from Mail into another app then there is Documents To Go (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/documents-to-go-office-suite/id317117961?mt=8#) which, from its description :
    • EDIT, CREATE & VIEW Word & Excel files (including Office 2007/2008/2010)
    • View  PowerPoint ,PDF, iWork & other files
    • iPad/iPhone 4/iOS 4: Send & receive attachments using the device's built-in Mail app
    • Includes desktop app (Win & Mac) with 2-way file sync (WIFI required to sync)
I havn't got the app myself, but I've seen it recommended by others

  • Sending pdfs from Mac Mail to Outlook

I have users that are sending pdfs from mac mail to outlook and the attachements are not going through.  All you see is the paperclip and nothing else.  This has just started happening.  I am telling the users to send emails as plain text with windows friendly attachement as well as to put the attachment in the email.  Anyone have any idea how to fix this.  There are some unhappy users.
    Thank you for the help

Outlook for Mac has no option to import from Apple's Mail application. The best suggestion I can offer is that you use an IMAP account to transfer your messages.
Get a free Gmail IMAP account from Google and connect to the account in Mail. Drag your messages into the account to copy them to the server.
Connect to the same account in Outlook and copy your messages from the server to folders under On My Computer.
Another option is to get a third party tool that are available online.
One tool that I am familiar with is Apple Mail Export
Or you can find more on
    google or
    yahoo for more results
    Hope this helps!

  • MERGING Outlook 2010 & iPhone 4

I have followed suggestions on MERGING Outlook 2010, Windows 7, iPhone 4, but the Apply button doesn't open up the merge option.  Everything worked with my iPhone 3, Windows XP, and Outlook 2008.  Now I have an iPhone 4, Windows 7, and Outlook 2010 all within a few months so I haven't a clue why I cannot get the option to merge instead of uploading/downloading my data between the computer and iPhone.  Help!  I use both heavily and am tired of deleting duplicate information or not have data in both places.  Needing to sync this system so I would appreciate any help. Thanks

Once you have synced your phone with an iTunes library I don't think you can get the merge option.  If you can get your contacts and calendar to be correct in Outlook, you can replace the calendar and contacts on your phone with the ones in Outlook.  To do this, prior to connecting your phone, go to iTunes preferences and on the Devices tab check "Prevent...from syncing automatically.  Then connect your phone and on the Info tab of your iTunes sync settings, confirm that you have checked to sync your contacts and calendar with Outlook.  Then further down under Advanced>Replace information on this iPhone, check Contacts and Calendars.  Apply and sync.  This should mirror your phone with the information in Outlook and establish two-way syncing without creating duplictes.  (You can then go back and restore automatic syncing if you prefer this.)

  • How to change the pdf version on mail merge

    Hi All,
I am using AA8 with MS Word 2002 on XP SP3.
I am trying to mail merge from Word using Excel spreadsheet as source data, which seems to be working fine. But I need to create the PDF's in pdf version 1.4 or 1.5. Regardless of Distiller settings, the pdf are being created as pdf version 1.6. So older version of reader cant read the new pdf files.
I am sure this is a simple issue, but can anyone offer a solution???
    Thanks.

Still not solved. It looks that it is not possible to change the column width of the PDF download.

  • Create PDFs from Word mail merges

This question was posted in response to the following article: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/acrobat/X/pro/using/WSA2131EF1-0620-46e0-9A0C-74F28724D97E.w.h tml

I've been trying this for many hours and have posted my issue elsewhere on the site without success. When I use the Mail Merge in Word 2007 I get an error message of "MAPI Logon Unsuccessful cannot email mesages". I'm using MSMail, Vista SP2 and Acrobat X Pro. The documents are created and filed where I select but it stops at the email process. If I just do one record at a time using "Create and Attach to Email" MSMail opens correctly with the document attached. I had the problem when I needed to send a similar letter a year ago but had assumed that was because I had Acrobat IX. Not so. The amount of time I've spent trying to get it to work is probably more than if I had manually attached each letter to an email but I hate not being able to use a feature I've paid for! Can anyone help with this?

  • How do I import mail from Outlook 2010?

When I try to import my emails from Outlook 2010 I get the following message:
"An error occurred importing mail from Outlook
Unable to find mail to import. Check to make sure the mail application is correctly installed on this machine."

You'll need to do it from a 32bit version - Mail/Live mail do not recongise outlook 2010 64 bit.  Dropping EML files into Outlook folder has always created new messages with attachments - this is nothing new.
ETA: if you can email the messages as attachments, you can drag them from the message and drop them in the Inbox.  This obviously works best if there aren't hundreds of messages to convert. :)
There are 3rd party utilties that can make the conversion but they may not work with the 64bit version. See http://www.slipstick.com/config/convmsg.htm for a list of programs that can make the conversion but i don't know if any of them work with 64bit outlook.

  • Ovi Mail and Outlook 2010; from/subject/date field...

I'm using Outlook 2010 version for my home laptop and tuesday evening all incoming mails missed information for sender, subject and the date/time fields. Connecting to Ovi mail by browser, all these information is existing on mails.
Is there has been change on server setup after moving to Yahoo servers??

Mail messages always include more headers than are normally shown by the mail client. Sometimes people may wish to examine the full set of headers to check the veracity of a message, or to determine its actual origin, and generally when trouble-shooting. You control whether or not you see them with menu View/Message/Long Headers, or you may have a button for it on your toolbar.

It keeps asking for my password, even when re-entered it still refuses to let e-mails through.
    Any ideas what to do?

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Make sure you have the correct settings
    POP3
Server incoming and out going: mail.btinternet.com
Email user name: (Normally you only need the prefix of your email address but some users have found the need to enter their full email address.ie [email protected])
    Password: Your BT email password.
Log on using clear text authentication
Out Going Server in requires Authentication (Use same as incoming mail server. Some users have found that they need to enter the password and username instead of ticking box “use same as incoming mail server” )
Outgoing Port : 465 SSL security
Incoming Port : 995 SSL security
    IMAP
Same as above except for Incoming Port: 993 SSL security

  • Moving email from Mail to Outlook 2010

how to I export from mail into something readable by Outlook 2010? thx tons

What type of account at the mail server? IMAP? Exchange? Then it should be on the mail server. Just configure the account in Outlook and your mail will be there. If the account is POP, I don't know.

  • Inline attachments such as PDF

I receive numerous pdf attachments from a friend. They show up inline as graphics. I would prefer that they show up just as attachments. I cannot find a setting for this. Is there any way to change this?
    Daniel

OK, I can answer my own question. There is a plugin for $6 that does the trick exactly. It is called "Mail Attachment Iconsizer", and can be found here:
    http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/25945
I have downloaded it, and it works just great. It turns out that single page pdf's are always viewed inline, but multipage documents show up as icons. This way they are all icons, but can be viewed many ways with a right click.
