Attachments to text

I am finding that many of my contacts do not allow the attachment of pictures when sending a text. I believe they are all non-Iphone users. Should I not still be able to attach pictures or media to a text I send to them?

You really shouldn't have to do that. MMS should go over cellular even if you have WiFi turned on. I have no problem sending a picture to my Android phone with my WiFi on and connected. Just did it with no problem.
You might want to try reseting your network settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network settings. It will delete any saved WiFi passwords but nothing else.

I never turn off cellular on the phone - the phone function is still the primary use for me and there are some data sevices I prefer to keep on at al times. You can restrict some functions from using cellular however: Settings App > General > Cellular > and set as needed in the Use Cellular Data for section. Aslo Check location services and turn off those apps you really don't need location services for.
But ultimately I agree with pdrith. Monotor your cellular data (your provider may even have an app to do that - Verizon in the US does), and based on your plan make a decision about how much you need to worry about it.

Whenever I forward mails I get only the subject line as forward All attachments and text is blank

I am currently using Windows 7 - 64 bit as my operating system. Previously this was not the case. But after I changed my operating system, problem started in forwarding my mails. Whenever I forward my mails, Only the subject line is filled. All the text, attachments and pictures from original mail are not carried alongwith.

Close out of the camera app, double tap the home button and completely close out of the app.
Then do a reset, no data loss. Hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.
Then check your camera roll again.

Attachments via texting

All of a sudden unable to receive or send attachments, photos, via texting. Ideas?

I'm sorry your having issues with sending and receiving attachments and photos via text benscherer91. I know how important this functionality is. Have you tried deleting old and long text threads you no longer need? Are you using a 3rd party messaging application on your device and is your software updated?

Why can't I receive e-mails or attachments with text? Ongoing problem

This has been going on for months, I call tech support and depending who I get is what they do. One guy will say it's the phone and have me do a bunch of stuff, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't and they fwd me to the next level of support. Next level will tell me it's a problem on their end, fix it, and it last a day or 2. I had enough of this. Everything was reinstalled, new simm card put in, same thing happens. I do not get e-mails, I do not get attachments in e-mails or text messages. I have the Droid. This has been going on from day one. What can I do? Sprint keeps sending me e-mails to go back to them, I'm getting close. Verizon suppose to be reliable, I'm not seeing it.

Hopefully that's all u need. The email is (removed) it has been uninstalled and installed countless times using setup reinstalled. With tech support. Preinstalled, not downloaded from play store. I was able to get text working last night by removing some preinstalled texting software, picture of a bulldog was the icon. I never used it, may not be related. Emailed worked also but today its down again, no incoming.
The phone in question is (removed).
I'm sure you have the records of the number of times i contacted support.

Since upgrading to iOS 6 I can no longer send pictures as attachments to text messages, why?

I upgraded to iOS6 and can no longer attach photos to text messages, why would that be? Also since upgrading I find that the Personal Hotspot on my iPhone 4s is now grayed out. Is this something to to with the upgrade or what? I am really frustrated by the glitches with this new iOS. It is very un-Apple like.

I recommend taking it into the store. Sounds to me like you have downloaded an app that has allowed itself to become the "primary" when sending and recieving images.... Apple is seriously dropping the ball!! Just the other day, I downloaded an app called v-downloader... Its an app that allows you to download videos through a 3rd party browser. Well what it did, was automatically place restrictions on my phone... I couldnt send pics, and it removed access to safari, facetime, messages, etc... so maybe try removing any recent app purchases. Also, I would reccomend that you restore your phone. it will redo the update off your computer and come through with less glitches
But I agree, iOS6 has been nothing but problems... I plan on removing the update when I get home

When I open attachments some text is garbled

I am a real estate broker and i receive listings from our MLS system via
Outlook. If I open them with IE, i have no problem.
But with Firefox the text in the fields is all garbled. This happens all the time. I do not wish to use IE. Please Advise.

I intermittently cannot send photo attachments when Texting... I have a 3GS

If I try to reply to an incoming text with a text and photo, it fails. And, sometimes I cannot even reply to an incoming text. I have to go to Contacts and start a new thread. Any ideas?

PO RTF Template: Multiple attachments(long and shor text) displayed once

1) The template does not display multiple short text elements for each line number. It only displays the first attachment.

You are quite right... I'm trying to associate each of the text attachments with the proceeding ID.

Some attachments converted to text

I bought a new powerbook last September (2006), and transfered my email from my previous Mail file on my older (2003) powerbook. It works fine, but occasionally converts attachments to text. I know that they are true attachments, because I can view them and save them if I access my mail from my older laptop (which has the same system and mail version), or from a web-based mail system. In the mail program on this computer, there is no indication that there is an attachment, but I get a huge amount of random text embedded below the message (e.g., for a jpg file).

Hmmm, but the mail body should be going through the right converter (i.e. RAW -> HTM) so we cannot just replace that. This is the whole issue - it just applies the same conversion for body and attachments. I still think it should leave attachments alone.
Another new oddity I've discovered is that it's not doing a proper HTML file for the attachment as it does if it were using a REAL html converter. A proper html file starts off with
<html style="font-family:sans-serif"> <head>
and so on.
This one simply has a mime type of .htm and
"<br>"
at the end of each line. No other tags whatsoever. Looking at the code it looks like it just replaces CRLFs with
<br>
This leads me to suspect it's not even using an HTML converter for the attachments (as I'd expect it should work), but somehow the text converter for the attachment is incorrectly picking up the HTML format of the parent object (email body). Smells like a bug, I think I'll see what the nice people from OSS have to say....

SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1- problem in mail text

Hi All,
I am using FM SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1 to send emails.
I have taken the reference program from the documentation of this function module given by SAP.
I want to send two attachments in text format using this FM and I am able to send the same.
The problem I am facing is that every character of text is seprated by one space. i.e. between any two characters one space is inserted in the attachement.
e.g. if I need to display :::
"This is test mail" -->
I am gettting the output as
"T h i s i s t e s t m a i l".
Is there any parameter which I need to set to avoid this problem.
Any input would be highly appreciated.

Reading text file to make a list

Hello ,
I want to read a specific column from the text file if the columns are separated by a space.
When the whole file (as shown here http://imageshack.com/a/img834/6321/k55hx.jpg
) is read its column1 names should be visible in a drop list and whenever a name is selected from the list it should select its respective value from column2 in the text file and display the value in indicator.
I tried as shown here(http://imageshack.com/a/img829/6821/x4h0.jpg ) and got the output like this(http://imageshack.com/a/img840/1431/ior7.jpg ) but I am unable to get the required.
Can someone help me out with this.

If I understand you correctly, you are trying to make a dropdown list with the values from the first coloum, and when the user changes this values, you want the data to be shown.
I have made a small exampled that demostrates how this can be done.
(please note, that this code should be further improved, eg. by implementing proper error handling)

Read every 5th (or so) line from a text file.

How to create software in LabView 6.1 that can do the following:
1. Read a text file. The date (time stamp, and four numbers – separated by “,”) are stored in lines.
2. Read every 5th (or so) line. How to read EOF caracter?
3. Write data (lines) in a new file.

Quick answer : if your file is not too large, load it in memory as a 1D array of strings, then use the "Decimate array" function, convert back the string array into a spreadsheet string and save.

How to scan/ read a text file, pick up only lines you wanted.

I'm new to Labview, I trying to wire a VI which can read a text file
example below:
Example: My Text File:
1 abcd
2 efgh
8 aaaa
1 uuuu
and pick out only any line which start with number 1 (i.e 1 abcd)
then output these 2 lines out to a a new text file?

Hi,
How do you creat your text files? Depending on the programm, there is added characters in the beginning and at the and of the file. So here you will find a VI to creat "raw" text files.
To debug your VIs, use the probs and breakpoints, so you can solve the problem by your self or give an more accurate description of it.
There is also the VI that read a integer and two strings (%d %s %s)
