Attacment in email

Good Day,
I am experiencing difficulties attaching an attachment of any kind in the email notification I have created in the application.
The recipient gets the email notification without the attachment.
I have a form with "File Browse..." obviously the data type here is BLOB, all the examples I have seen only show how to add attachment based on data that exists in the table.
I want to add an attachment(new attachment), directly from the form into the e-mail notification, not existing data in the DB with the mail notification.
Is this possible or can you only send on BLOB content already in the database?
kind regards

Jeff has offered the best solution you will find.. Upload the file to the www_flows table... Then attache via your mail routine and then delete the file AFTER you send the mail from the www_flows table..
Thank you,

  • TIF attacment with email

Posted: Thu Jun 21, 2007 7:57 am    Post subject: TIF attacment with email
    Hi Guys,
I am sending a TIF attachemnt via email using FM SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1 to an external mail. But when the mail receipent open the attachment he gets error 'bad file cannot open'
The scenario is the tif file is stored in the KPRO server.... i tried following scenarios
    1. Using KRPO FM's I get this tif file loaded into a internal table(line(2550)). I compress this file to suit CONTENTS_HEX table parameter of FM SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1 . to compress i used FM's Table_compress and also 'CV120_CONVERT_CONTENT_TABLE'. But attachemnt could not be opened
2.i then donwloaded this file from Kpro to frontend and then uploaded the file using WS_UPLOAD and passed it on to CONTENTS_HEX table parameter . but same error
I am seraching this forum from last 2 days on this topic and found lots of topics with PDF and CVS attachemnt...but this did not help
I appreciatee any help on this
    Cheers

I haven't been able to get forwarding to work either. HP server rejects any forwarded email. I don't even have any filters set up to restrict anybody. I actually set up a dedicated Gmail account just for ePrint and set it to forward the emails received to printer. No go.

  • Saving mailmessage in rtf or eml formats

    Hello,
I'm trying to write an addin, that could write opened mail-message to a
file. I've tried using ItemSaveMessage() -token, but it only allows saving
the message as ansitext or wordperfect formats.
If I save the message manually from the menus there's other formats like
rtf and eml. Either of these formats would be ok, but I can't seem to
figure out how to save these formats automatically.
Has anyone done this or is it even possible?
    Thanks in advance,
    Jarno

    Nope, not exposed.
You can "fake" it though unreliably
    RTF
====> the message body object has a way to get the RTF or unicode text.
    MIME
====> if and only if the message has already been received (not being
composed) and if and only if it came from the internet, there's
the MIME.822 attachment that you can save by iterating through the attac

I am using utl_smtp for email. You need to read the file from the directory - and format an e-mail using MIME (<i>Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions</i>). As part of this Mime e-mail body, your code needs to add the contents of the file.
If the file is binary, the file's contents have to base64 encoded before adding it a Mime attachment to the e-mail body.
The complete e-mail body is then send using the SMTP DATA command.
You can also use UTL_MAIL - it creates a Mime body for the e-mail and supports a single (small) attachment. However, you still need to read the file from disk using UTL_FILE or DBMS_LOB.LoadFromFile() and pass the file contents to UTL_MAIL for base64 encoding and attachment.
There is no standard Oracle PL/SQL interface that supports reading the file from disk to attach to the e-mail body - so the file reading part you need to do yourself.
If the file is large, then UTL_MAIL (a poorly designed and written interface) will be unable to handle it. In which case you also need to write the base64 encode and generation of a Mime e-mail body with attachments.

  • How can i send Email with attacment in pdf/xls with pass word protect

    Hi
Can i send Email with attachment in pdf/xls with password protect in oracle apps .Here we want monthly stmt to send the customer with pdf/Xls with
password protect. Is it possible if yes how
    Thanks

One option is to convert the report to XML Publisher (which you might have already done as you are asking PDF/XLS), then look into the links below:

  • Outlook2013 email message goes behind main Outlook window when opening PDF attachment with Reader 11

Problem statement: Outlook 2013 email message goes behind main Outlook window when opening PDF attachment with Adobe Reader 11.0.3
    Environment: Windows 8 x64; Office 2013; Adobe Reader 11.0.3
    Steps to reproduce bug:
    1. Open Outlook 2013
    2. Open email message with PDF attachment
    3. Open PDF attachment (with Adobe Reader as default PDF viewer)
    4. Close Adobe Reader
Results: Original email message with PDF attacment now sits behind the main Outlook window
Expected results: Original email message should be on top of main Outlook window as it was when opening the PDF attachment
Note: Adobe Acrobat Profession performs as expected - the original email is on top of the main Outlook window - This only seems to be a problem with Adobe Reader.
Has anyone else experience this problem?  If so, have you found a work-around?
    Thanks,
    Mike

From: new window opens behind existing window - how to modify?
I had this problem happening in Outlook.
If I tried to open an email, it would open behind the main Outlook window.
The same happened if I opened a link in the email - it would open behind the mail.
The fix that was suggested to me was so simple that I still don't believe it.
Right click on the task bar and unlock the taskbar, then lock it again.
Close down Outlook and re-start it.
Problem solved! Just dont know how  or why.

    Hello.
Take into acount that the attacment tha you pass to method has to be type of business object SOFM. The attachment is correctly created in the workflow container? Review the creation of the object to attach.
How do you created the attachment?

  • I have an iPad air and have downloaded the microsoft app excel.  I have an email with an excel attachment.  When I "tap to download" the attachment, it auto converts to a PDF file.  I want it to open in excel.  Please help.

I have an iPad air and have downloaded the microsoft app excel.  I have an email with an excel attacment.  When I "tap to download" the attachment, it automatically converts to a PDF file and opens as a "view only" document.  I want it to open with the excel app so I can see and update the spreadsheet.  Please help.  Thanks!

If Excel works as do other apps, you should be able to tap and hold on the attachment and then select "Open in Excel" in the window that will open. Note that you need to be subscribed to and signed into Office 365 to be able to edit documents in Microsoft's apps.
    Regards.

  • Photos wont show in new email message

Im running the latest version of Lion and Apple mail, and i have an issue with attaching photos to a new email.
When i open Photo Browser and select a photo to add, it places it into the email body as an inline attacment.
I'd prefer that it would show the full photo rather than an inline attachement. Is there a way to change this?
    Thanks.

TO access your photos read TDs' post in this thread - http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1371662&tstart=15
To place your iPhoto library on an external drive quit iPhoto, drag the iPhoto library as a single entity form the pictures folder on your internal drive to your external drive and launch iPhoto with the option (alt) key depressed and use the select library option to point to the iPhoto library on your external drive

  • Why is there more problems with sending photos in emails than before. I never had problems before.

I am having problems that I never used to have sending photos in a Yahoo email. I can't load as many photos and it takes a very long time to load. I always check my attacment by going to the sent file and when I download a photo it is way bigger than the screen and I have to zoom down to 20% in order to see the photo at it's intended size.

Larry HN~If you want to control the size of the photos select them in iPhoto and export to a desktop folder using the various size options available during export - then attach to your e-mail from the folder
I followed the above instructions and it worked very well. I found I could click on the photo in iphoto and drag it to the desktop as well and then attach to my email from the desktop. If I choose the export method I can choose a different size as there are 4 sizes to choose from and that seems to work well for Yahoo Mail altho I noticed that the larger size photo I chose the longer it took to download as an attachment in a Yahoo email.

  • Email from R/3 in the body instead of coming as attachment?

    Team,
    I have defined a job via SM36:
    program name : RM06BA00
    send output to:Distribution List.
The email received in the MsOutlook inBox shows the message as an attachment. I want the contents of the message shown in the body of the email. Any ideas? (Emails are received in .HTM extension)
    Thanks
PS. Gmail and Hotmail emails shows the message as attachment. Yahoo shows the contents of the message in the body of the email.

    Help !!
I'm running standalone OC4J under WindowXP. The problem persists. I'm frustrated and don't know whether it's due to a bug or something I didn't do or something I shouldn't do.
My attachments files are in jpg. I tried using relative path, real path, forward slash, backward slash but the result is the same.
Can someone throw me some light ? Any extra setting do I need other than those instructed in Jdeveloper 10.1.3 documentation?

  • EMAIL ATTACHMENTS NO LONGER HAVE OPEN OPTION (ONLY...

I am using BT email (I have Windows 8.1), and last week by email suddenly stopped offering the Open attacment option, and I could only Save the attachment . I have contacted BT Live help and they recommended re-setting Internet options (which I have done), checking Security levels (done) and also trying Google Chrome then opening emails through it.  I have tried to install Google Chrome but this does not allow me to "Run" it (again only offering the Save option).
Can anyone help please?. Incidentally I did try my emails today in Outlook and they can download correctly there, but I prefer  the BT set up. Also my BT email works fine for attachments on our laptop.

hi I have tried looking at BT emails through Chrome but I still have the same problem. Also the images for emails are no longer showing, even though I have checked the Mail Options (there is no "Show images" button either on these emails).
I have also tried troubleshooting via the Control panel but nothing has changed. I am able to Save the attachments via a temporary file then open them that way, but as I have a lot , this is not Ideal.
many thanks for any suggestions (please!)
